We were headed through town and stopped for an early dinner and oh my! The food was delicious! I got a pork belly banh mi and my husband got the fish tacos. The pork belly was flavorful, tender in the inside and crispy edges. Had a nice amount of veggies also. The fish tacos were moist and tender. We also grabbed a sangria and Arnold Palmer. The sangria was refreshing in a hot, summer's day. It was a bit quiet so we were greeted and seated immediately. It has a lot of places to sit, and a large window that lets in plenty of natural light. Our server was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again! Tacos and pizzas... What more could you ask for? After driving by this restaurant for years I went there the other night and had a nice cold IPA with lasagna and garlic bread. The last time I used Yelp to find lunch in McMinnville, I was very disappointed in my choice. However, this time my fellow yelpers redeemed themselves in spades! The atmosphere is very casual, clean, and comfortable without any pretension. The food offered is a good selection of pizza, pasta, and tacos. The wine list is all local, which is a nice touch. We had cheesy bread, Caesar salad, fettuccine Alfredo, and fish tacos with lemonade and a glass of wine for roughly $65 including tip. I haven't experienced value like this in a long time! Everything was delicious. Well, the lemonade could use improvement, but I'll give them a pass on that. I'm surprised to find such good pasta at a little place like this. Wonderful Napolitano style pizza. The 14" pizza was $18. What!? This is like pre-COVID prices. Given how pizza prices have doubled in the past few years, we were nervous as to to quality. We ordered the combo, minus olives and salami. They nicely added more of the other toppings without us asking. The pizza tasted great! We finished half and reheated the rest for dinner. It still tasted great. Since we're in Pinot Noir country, we ordered a couple of glasses to go with. Who knew they would pair so well with pizza? 2nd time eating here, takeout... I'd do it house but I'm scared of taking my toddlers into polite society eating lol... We had fish tacos/steak tacos/banh mi sandwich.. first of all, their meat is incredible... the steak melted in your mouth and not over/under cooked just perfect .. and the fish tacos are packed! I didn't get to try their banh mi cause I'm still super full from splitting the two taco orders with my man, but he had half of the banh mi (which they separated and wrapped, thank you!) And he told me it was the most delicious sandwich he ever had *swoon".. I will say their tacos maybe needed double tortillas to capture all that deliciousness, but the tarter sauce... I need buckets of everyday all day on everything I eat from now on ... This place is amazing Show some love! read more

This place is amazing and we're trying to figure out where they aren't packed! It is Thursday... But still, the quality of the food here is insane. We would happily pay twice as much at a white tablecloth setting or a beachside setting. We had the shrimp fettuccini and the blackened rockfish fettuccini. Both were magnificent. They make their own pasta and everything is delicious and tastes so fresh. If you haven't been here yet you need to come! Next time we're going to try some pizza. Not to take anything from Lafayette, but this place really stands out. Hopefully it sets the stage for others to follow. Very attractive building. Comfortable, airy interior with original art work on display. Unfortunately for them, not another soul in there on a Saturday at noon, but see they opened in 2020 and managed to hang on thru the pandemic. Small menu of pizzas, sandwiches and tacos. Prices have gone up $2-$3 per item from those shown on Yelp photos, no different than most places trying to survive. Ordered the steak sandwich ($16) and small Margherita pizza ($12.) Great little place. All the food we tried ( party of 8, so we tried a lot) was very good. Their homemade tomato-based sauce is out of this world. Their steamed clams were perfectly cooked with a flavorful broth. Their meatballs were a bit dense but when you smothered them in that magic tomato sauce, it was all good. Service started out very good but slowed down when they got slammed by the dinner rush. Very understandable. We are going again tonight. The granddaughter wants lasagna. read more

This was a pleasant little surprise. We were passing through Lafayette looking for a quick lunch when we spotted the sign on an older (but renovated) brick building. It was toss up between this place and the Mexican place next door. We chose well. The owner is very friendly and explained that they "opened" on April 1st in the middle of the pandemic. They have overcome that shitty luck. When you walk in you order at the back. At first blush I was expecting a typical taco cart menu which would have been just fine. We ordered a BLT (with avocado) and steak tacos. The owner's admonishment to "save room for dessert" was cute but kind of silly (it was 1 pm). We were in for a surprise when the food showed up. This isn't "taco cart" food. The three steak tacos were made with some of the best sliced beef I've ever had. (As an aside as we left they had a delivery from Carlton meats). The tacos had two very good sauces which was so good I was dipping chips in them. The BLT came on a baguette bun and was loaded with avocado. When we finished our meals the owner brought us a sample platter of 4 types of flan. Clearly she wasn't kidding about saving room for desert. That was the best selection of flan I've ever had. As we left the owner invited us to a wine tasting on Saturday. She also tried to give us glasses of ice for our bottled sodas. This place is way better than it had a right to be. I can't wait until they get a chance to operate outside of the confines of a pandemic. read more

One of the things I love best about northern Willamette Valley is that it's hard to find a bad meal anywhere and Hamblin Eatery is no exception. We were just looking to get a quick lunch on our way back to do yardwork on our property and just happened to pass by and liked the look of the building. Was expecting a quick-serve deli and a basic menu but this place offers so much more. The interior is really cute with gorgeous wood tables and beautiful local artwork. The service is friendly and we enjoyed speaking with the owner who let us know they just opened a year ago. But the star of the show was definitely the food. I ordered the pork belly tacos and my boyfriend ordered a pizza. We were expecting a decent, passable version of each but they were each one of the best meals we've had this whole trip! My pork belly was super tender and succulent and the taco was perfectly built. And my boyfriend said his pizza was one of the best he's ever had. The Hamblin Eatery is great restaurant with consistently good food, and service. For the quality of food being served Hamblin's pricing is very reasonable. It is one of the best dining values I have come across in a long time! Things I would recommend on the menu: Caesar salad. Their homemade dressing is wonderful and it's a very large portion easily feeds two adults. Lasagna. Their sauce is great and the portion size is perfect Alfredo: home made and delicious Baked Meatballs: homemade, large portions and delicious Chicken wings: I always get the mango habanero wings. They are delicious and not super spicy so don't be afraid. They have many other flavors, but I have only tried these.
