The fried chicken sandwich is always juicy and with just enough heat. Sitting either at the bar or outside is great. I will be bringing out of town guests here as a must do.

However service was very slow as it appears it was only one server and the other was the bartender but would help out occasionally. Food also took a while to come out and were served our main courses before our appetizer and salad. I also felt like the prices were quite expensive for a small town like Carlton. For food we ordered the renegade potato's, a house salad, French toast and the biscuit and gravy. The renegade potato's were so good! Nice crispy potato with a spicy aioli! The house salad was a little disappointing. It was pretty but it didn't have the seasonal fruit that I was looking forward to. French toast was decent; a nice crispy brioche French toast with what appears to be a homemade blueberry jam. But this didn't wow me as much as I thought it would. The biscuits and gravy was interesting though and almost tastes like a spicy sausage gravy. If you're in the area, I would definitely check this place out! But if not, it probably isn't worth the drive.

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant, we really expected a bit of a crowd. We were seated and greeted, waters were provided with menus. We started our meal experience by telling our waiter that we planned to do a progressive dinner down 3rd Street. We were met with a rather disappointed / disheartened response. Their menu was absolutely stunning. Lots of great options. As this was our first stop of the evening, we went for an appetizer. The Albacore Confit absolutely out of this world. Ridiculously good. Huge portion, plated beautifully. Wonderful for the three of us to share. We all raved at how lovely the dish was. Drinks were absolutely fabulous. Gin martini was SOLID. My partner didn't care for his wine but it was a first-time try, that isn't the fault of the restaurant. The Dolores O'Riordan martini was absolutely wonderful. The bar was timely with drinks, which is always appreciated. Overall, ambiance, food, and drink were AMAZING! Absolutely a 5-star experience. However, service just did not slap. We could have survived with the disheartened response at us only staying for one-course but the end of our time with Grounded Table kinda kicked us all in the butt. As they handed me the check, we were met with "We hope you can join us for an entire meal sometime". The inflection was just catty and unnecessary. Trying to look past it, I continued to complete the check but after they departed the table, my dinner-mates both whispered under their breath "that did not just happen, how rude!" Meh, this could hae been the easiest 5-star review ever. The attitude of our server kinda blew the entire experience, the comment was unnecessary.
