Wonderful place! Solid customer service, extensive array of incredibly diverse teas for a rainbow of palates, accoutrements and accompaniments for your tea and coffee pleasure. I was so enamored with the heady, savory fragrance of the Rare Milk Oolong tea that I instantly decided that was MINE. It smells like creamy, buttery pastries and, I would discover later, tastes subtly sweet. Amazing. I bought Rosebud coffee for hubby, and treated myself to a tea measuring spoon (a must - I don't want to waste any of that amazing Oolong tea!), a tea bag caddy, and a loose leaf tea strainer. I fell in love with the floating duck tea strainer, but I left her and her $10 price tag behind. This stop should be included on any visit to Corvallis for tea and coffee junkies and the people who love them. read more

They have scent jars with sample tea so you have an idea of the aroma before you buy. So many amazing choices it was difficult to narrow it down. They even have varieties of salts and seasonings. I live in Clovis,CA, and I have tried several local roasters and have left feeling extremely disappointed. After buying a half pound of beans, going home and hoping for a good cup of coffee, and tasting some of the worst coffee ever. One place, the coffee just tasted flat, and believe it or not, one tasted like hot wilted lettuce. It was disgusting. My mom lives in Corvallis and I have always loved the flavor of her coffee. So when up there one Christmas, I decided to buy some to take home. It was so unbelievably delicious. I don't mind that I have to pay shipping, their coffee is so worth it. But when up visiting family in Corvallis, I always stop in to buy coffee. They have the best customer service and all kinds of extras in the shop to buy. Saw a cat sugar bowl as I was walking by and unfortunately the shop was closed. I'm very glad I took the time to go back when it was open. They have 300 teas that you can get by the ounce, ranging from herbal teas, to black teas, to green teas (all under $5/ounce). The worker was very patient with me as I asked about how to pick teas, reading over the descriptions of the teas, and calling my family to see what teas they wanted as well. The shop also has a bunch of teapots in an abundance of colors, matching mugs and cups, animal sugar bowls and creamers, not to mention many different tea balls to accompany your new loose tea leaves. I'm hoping to get back before I head to the east coast, but luckily they sell their teas online if I can't. read more

Came in here yesterday for the first time. What a fun, warm and welcoming spot. I was in visiting from Astoria and dying for some good loose leaf tea. I found this gem downtown Corvallis. This is a family run business ( mom, dad, daughter and son) the daughter ( sorry I can't remember her name ) she's the one who helped me. She was so fun to talk to. I only wish I could've taken her back to lonely Astoria with me. The tea selection is AMAZING here. Seriously amazing! They have everything your heart could possibly ever want and then some. Where to start? Yes, they have well over a hundred varieties of tea on hand that you can buy in any quantity. It would probably take you a year to try them all, and by then there would be so many new ones, you'd have to start over. And if you have a question, they have the answer. Yes, they have probably a dozen kinds of fresh roasted coffee, as well as a dozen kinds of green beans if you roast at home. They inspired me to try it and now it's a fun hobby, and all I use is an old wok. Yes, they have hundreds of supplies and accessories and unique gifts that center around tea and coffee. Brewers, roasters, all kinds of cups and pots, from the elegant to the fanciful, in all kinds of materials and colors. Yes, they have fresh brewed coffee on hand, and if you get there early, home made danishes on Saturday morning. But if you miss the danishes, there are always great chocolates and other goodies to enjoy. But the best part is _who_ they are. This family-owned business knows how to treat their customers and make them feel at home. Over the last couple years, we've become extremely attached to "our" coffee shop, and we look forward to our visit every Saturday. I just went in yesterday for the first time, and I have to say: I'm hooked! I was so tired of trying to find a large selection of pre-packaged teas that were organic and fair trade from other stores (Fred Meyer's and the Co-ops) and then I found this gem. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Their selection is remarkable and includes organic and fair trade options along with teas I have never heard of (and I really like tea). I could have spent hours just smelling all of the different kinds they have, but I settled on three (one black, one rooibos, and one herbal for good measure). Coffee and tea enthusiasts look no further. OC&T not only offers all kinds of organic coffees and teas, but they sell green beans for those who like to roast their own. This is a cute shop just off the river front with coffee & tea paraphernalia and a small selection of pastries. OC&Ts special of the day was a 12oz cup of joe + pastry for $3. I had the Oregon hazelnut pastry with chocolate drizzle and my companion had the raspberry/almond pastry. Both were wonderful, but I wish OC&T would heat the pastries up in the oven before serving. I shopped here for tea during a stay in Corvallis. There are many tea selections here. The lady who helped me was very helpful and friendly and made some great suggestions on tea for me, super customer service and super teas, I love the teas from here. The Ceylon Lumbini is a favorite black tea of mine, very smooth, perfect tea in the morning. I also tried the Lemongrass Organic tea which was perfect when I wasn't feeling well, very soothing. Great selection of loose leaf tea. Plenty of varied tea supplies to choose from, too. Kind and attentive staff. We ordered tea to go (25 cent discount if you bring your own cup - yay for being green!). I would come here again if in Corvallis again. No seating that I noticed. I've been researching out types of tea and how to make a good pot of tea in preparation for a Ladies High Tea Party I am throwing for my mother's 75th birthday in a few weeks. I walked into Oregon Coffee and Tea a couple of weeks ago, confessed that I knew absolutely nothing about making tea, and desperately needed help. Owners Casey and Dennis Collett have both been incredibly helpful and informative, patiently explaining the different types of tea to me and how to make a decent pot of tea. I've visited OC&T 3 times in the last two weeks sampling different types of loose tea based on their suggestions. The tea selection is huge with lots of different types and flavors. Dennis and Casey have opened up a whole new world of tea to me, and I'm confident I'll now be able to serve a selection of delicious teas at my mom's party. Oregon Coffee and Tea is *amazing*. I first discovered it when I visited a friend who goes to school in Corvallis, and immediately was impressed by their selection, their tea paraphernalia, and how kind and knowledgeable the staff are. I live in Seattle, and over the weekend, I decided to order some tea for Christmas presents. I placed my order on Monday over the phone, and to my delight and surprise, the package was waiting for me at home in Seattle Tuesday afternoon! Not only was the package gotten to me incredibly quickly, the prices were great, and the wonderful people who packaged it had included some extra goodies like candies, and a handwritten note thanking me for my order. I am truly impressed by Oregon Coffee and Tea, and have already told everyone that if they want to get a great selection for awesome prices, they should order from them, or visit them if they're ever in Corvallis! I spend most of my time in Canada, which has plenty of tea shops, but I still get 99% of my tea from Oregon Coffee and Tea whenever I come home to visit. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially compared to David's or Teavana, and the selection is incredible. My favorites are the almond black (tastes like a madeline cookie), the Madagascar vanilla black, and the caramel black, especially in fall and winter, but the fruit flavored black teas are all fantastic too. I love Blue Shadow. I probably have at least 20 varieties of tea from Oregon Coffee and Tea in my pantry, and my Canadian friends even ask me to bring some back for them. It's also a really good place to get pots, strainers, and other tea accessories. If you're going to go, make sure you go on a weekend. The homemade pastries that make an appearance on Saturday mornings are NOT to be missed. Get anything with the almond glaze. It's spectacular, and probably my favorite baked good in Corvallis, and there are lots of good bakeries in Corvallis. read more

Excellent teas and coffees from all over the world. Wonderful system where you can read about each tea and smell the aroma of the leaves. From Japanese green teas to all sorts of Earl Greys, this store has it all. Organic options, too. Wide array of interesting coffee and tea makers, cups, accessories. Also, the pastry available on Saturdays was delicious. Almost the perfect experience. The several times we've been there from out of town, the enthusiastic employees and Casey, the co-owner, are the ones who make eye contact, smile back and offer helpful advice tailored to your taste and sense of adventure. Amazing selection of teas and it just keeps getting better. I have never been a coffee drinker and, although this wonderful family run business also has coffee, spices, and salts, they have the most wonderful teas. From herbal blends that help with pretty much any malady, to slabs of Pu Erh, to your everyday Scottish or English Breakfast, I have been getting my tea from this shop for years. They are also far less expensive than most tea shops I've been to, and I have been to more than a few over the years. I went to England for a year and found to my dismay that they have for the most part made a transition from tea to coffee shops, loose leaf is hard to come by and expensive, and the most popular bagged varieties are Lipton and PG Tips. I actually had friends send me tea from this little shop in Corvallis because it was less expensive than buying it in England and better quality. I hope they continue to thrive! A great coffee and tea shop. It is amazing to actually find a company that does both coffee and tea, most just do one of the other. I have been purchasing coffee and tea from this wonderful shop for over 5 years now. I live in California, but have a daughter that is finishing her degree at Oregon State, and that is how I first introduced to the shop. The owners and workers there are extremely helpful, pleasant to chat with, and will joke along with you also. I order coffee mostly, and have just started on the tea, as well as other items needed to make great cups of "joe" and tea. Every time I visit the cute town of Corvallis, Oregon Coffee and Tea is always one of my stops. Our daughter now is sending us "care packages" from Oregon. On a stroll through downtown Corvallis the other day, I got to revisit Oregon Coffee & Tea. They have a wonderful selection of loose leafs that I can't wait to try. I currently have the Vanilla Green Tea, which is a warm and soothing blend with just the right amount of caffeine for energy without jitters. It's not an old-fashioned sort of shop, but the open and clean layout makes it easy to browse. I think they are appropriately priced for the area. If you're not from this town or state, some items may seem a bit pricey, but their quality never seems to be lacking. They have some great glass tea bottles and Japanese tea sets too. read more

They have a vast collection of looseleaf teas,including herbal teas (a lot of medicinals as well), green teas from all over the world, black teas, oolongs, flavored teas, and more. They also have a great selection of tea and coffee paraphernalia. The self serve coffee is the best, most interesting coffee I've had - you can tell they know their stuff. Local family runs this small coffee and tea business. Dennis roasts all the coffee and is a wizard: medium dark is his darkest roast, so somehow it comes out rich, complex, smooth no matter which variety. They also have an amazing collection of tea. We are hooked on organic English breakfast and organic nettle tea. They are not an espresso place if that is what you are looking for. But ask Dennis about his special espresso blend, available in beans! read more

I live in Seattle, which is famous for coffee (not just Starbucks and Tully's), but I still prefer OC&T and make a point to drop by whenever I'm visiting Corvallis. The tea selection is great, coffee beans are fresh, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They also have a good selection of coffee and tea equipment. I've gotten a manual coffee mill, ceramic pour-over filter, and french press here. Until recently they also sold "vintage" gum, like clove and licorice, but apparently the manufacturer stopped making them for now. read more
