This was our first time here and let me start by saying it is beautifully decorated and a true gem hidden behind the complex. We drove completely around before finding it. Do not let that stop you! It was worth every second looking for! If you like sweet and savory like I do, get the granola parfait with the avocado toast! What a great combo to delight your taste buds! The fruit and yogurt were pleasantly sweet. The avocado toast has a balsamic relish on it that is deliciously savory! Hubby had the chicken fried steak... Too boring for me but he enjoyed it. Side salmon, side broccolini, side asparagus, side mashers, side roasted potatoes, side coleslaw, side summer salad, side fruit, etc. We now have what we need to serve with our freezer food while our car is in the shop. I can see why this place is a popular spot for weekend brunch! Parking lot is big but shared with other businesses in that lot. Luckily we made a reservation for a Sunday morning and were seated right away. But it does get very busy and even if you have to wait, there is a small lake right near there just down the stairs and you can take a quick lap or two while you are waiting. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and gave us the time and space we needed to decide and chat. We did not feel rushed at all even though their waiting area were full. I was very excited about the Monte Cristo Waffle but sadly have to say it was a bit disappointing. The waffle was too thick and flavorless and not a good vessel for the ham cheese and jam, the whole thing just really fell apart when I picked it up. I would have preferred regular French toast buns for sure. Other than that, my group enjoyed the breakfast croissant sandwich, veggie omelette, and blackened chicken sandwich. The fries were hot and crispy and the breakfast potatoes were seasoned and hearty. I loved that the crumb cake was warmed up but it was dry. My coffee was refilled generously, and the potatoes that came along with the burrito, took it up a notch, not to mention the side of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Great morning at this spot. We stopped for breakfast out of the blue on our walk and what a great idea this was. I ordered the mushroom omelette. Perfect amount of food. The omelette was cooked to perfection considering I ordered it without cheese. Great combination of ingredients. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and a side of avocado toast which complimented the meal. Great portions and costs for what we ordered. Nice job on the presentation too. The server checked in with us the perfect amount of times. We also had the opportunity to sit under the morning sun overlooking the beautiful pond. We'll be back for breakfast soon. The past 3 visits here (including today) have been in significant contrast to my initial review so I felt a check-in was a good idea. Food - good as always. Service, a complete 180 and we are pretty easy going on it. I'll highlight today's experience but the general themes are long time to order, server doesn't return to check in, and we have to go find someone to pay or get anything we are missing like a water refill. Wouldn't share if they were swamped or busy - for the most part I would honestly say 1/3 capacity but quite a lot of employees, particularly behind the bar. Today we were seated right away, and waiting quite awhile to order - fine. Food came pretty quickly, great! I asked the young man that dropped off the food what the red vegetables on top of the biscuits and gravy were - he said I don't know and walked off. We also wanted to ask for some more syrup and for hot sauce. About 20 minutes later, decided to really try to wave someone down - and decided to ask the host who was literally right behind us. She indicated that she was busy (guests were starting to walk in) and she proceeds to get them a table and walk back without checking in. After asking her several times she finally turned around and my husband asked for what she needed and she helped. Now the wait for the check. I could go on. Super unfortunate - I would say the last 3 trips, we actually would have ordered more beverages, maybe a desert or something, but no one ever came back not even for us to pay. Last note - we did a pickup order for dinner last week. My husband picked it up and was surprised to find the folks very rude. He asked if the chicken Marsala had extra mushrooms. The server snapped " whatever is on the receipt is what it is." Well - my husband walked out goes to the car and looks at the receipt. It does say extra mushrooms but it doesn't say paid. So he calls and asked if I paid and I said no. Gentleman that he is, he went right back in to pay. This time - the server was quite nice lol. All to be said, same crew as it's always been but something significant has changed. Big bummer! We really love this place, so the intent of this update is to share feedback with the business because we know it is so much better and also to update rating to reflect a repeat experience. read more

A friend suggested we go here for dinner. I remembered I had not eaten here in a long while and did not go here for reasons. I am glad that I was not remembering my previous experience and that I am usually pretty accommodating to friends. There are a few exceptions - like when the trauma is so bad you end up with PTSD. With all of that said, this was a lovely way to dine for certain down to the other diners! Two lovely ladies who were getting up to leave said that they highly recommended the Quesadilla for an appetizer. When strangers have such a great experience they want to share, that is saying a whole lot! I'm so happy we chose outside to sit - it was a beautiful day and the view of the water, lovely gardens and a whole lot of Canadian geese is just wonderful where you get to feel a little fancy in the tron. They have a nice fire pit out there also if you want some warmth. I started with a glass of their Ruby Pinot Noir which was lovely - perfect though I did start asking for a glass of rose and then maybe a red blend. Sometimes a Pinot Noir can be a bit heavy and it was good so I appreciated the recommendation. My friend loved her Pinot Gris which was Kings Estate. Service was great and our food came out fast...perhaps too fast. My only complaint was that my friend and I had the same order nearly where we asked for a small salad for me and a cup of soup for her and also entrees. She and I were both rather taken aback as all our food was brought out at once which is just covering the table and overwhelming. They did not ask which most restaurants do if you order items that can be coursed. We just assumed they would do that. So, apparently you need to ask for that unless you like to eat in this fashion. I ordered a small Murrayhill salad without blue cheese and it was quite good. I probably would have eaten far more of it but it was served with my entrée and di not keep as I tried to take it to go. I really REALLY love their Parmesan crusted halibut. The asparagus was also amazing. The mashed potatoes seem rather cold and not as creamy as I would have liked though I love that they used red potatoes and leave the skin in. We saved room for crème brulee which was incredible though HUGE... You will need backup! read more

Okay I'm not crazy about greasy spoons. So maybe thats my bias. My boyfriend loves this place but so close to home tbe freaking bloody Mary better be damn good for me to pay for versus making at home. The other thing, which is laughable is the prices. OMG. Avocado toast. Bread which is maybe $0.10 a slice if THAT and an Avocado maybe $3. No no no way willi pay the irreverent prices here for a tiny bit of food. The egg was nice and fluffy and filling was tasty. The seasoned potatoes were crispy on the outside, and the biscuit was tender and moist. I recently co- hosted a birthday luncheon at Cafe Murrayhill. The staff was so easy to work with, especially Gabriel and our server, Rose. We had planned our event for ten people to be overlooking the lake, but rain required us to move indoors. They allowed us to come an hour early to decorate, and they set up extra tables for cake, appetizers, etc. We pre-ordered a number of appetizers, and food was delicious and substantial, and the items came out exactly as ordered and at the perfect temperature. This is a very nice brunch place that has spacious indoor and outdoor seating, surrounded by a large fountain and walkway. Even in the fall, it is still a lovely venue. Our rather large family came here after we attended a special mass for my deceased mother. Our server was very accommodating but a little slow. We started off with drinks for everyone. My matcha latte was a little flavorless and chalky. But my niece's hot cocoa was really tasty, and it was even adorned with a cute ghost marshmallow. For my entree, I ordered the country skillet without the potatoes. It was a tasty combination of bacon, ham, tomatoes, and cheese. The arugula provided a little refreshing bite. And the gravy was well seasoned and hearty. Prices are pretty reasonable in comparison to other establishments that nearly clock in at $20 for the same types of brunch. I came here to get brunch for my brother's birthday weekend. We were told that there weren't any tables available so we opted to sit at the bar. The stools were a bit cramped and there were no hooks to hang our bags or jackets. The chicken fried steak was pretty good; however, I wished there was more gravy to go along with the meal since I was hoping to eat the biscuit with the gravy. The potatoes were good and the eggs were cooked well. One of the waitresses took one of our plates with food on it while we were waiting for a to-go box. I'm really disappointed with my experience at your restaurant today. I made a confirmed reservation for Mother's Day breakfast at 9 a.m. When I called to confirm, the person at the desk insisted no reservation was recorded. After some back and forth, they admitted that the manager canceled reservations due to the volume, but then later claimed my booking was actually for tomorrow. I never would have booked for the next day, and it feels like the confirmation email was altered or manipulated in the backend. This was a special occasion for me, and I feel completely let down. So when I got back from a long trip, they decided to take me out for breakfast here. They have plenty of options for food. My oldest son and I each got one of the benedicts.
