We went to Ava Roasteria for the first time a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed the space. There were a few outlets which we appreciated since we love working at coffee shops! The service was ok as it looked very understaffed with one employee and over 20 folks enjoying the space. The wait was about 10 minutes to order (with no line) as the single employee was pre-occupied putting together the drinks. It was understandable! I ordered the Ava White and they made the Ava Black instead. The drink was great, but I was looking for a tea with no caffience as it was later in the evening. I quite enjoy the Ava Roasteria in Progress Ridge. I've been going to this chain for some time now and can confidently say that this is the nicest one I have been to. The baristas working at the front have always been very kind and welcoming to me, and I have never had any issues finding seating. As shown in the pictures, they have the option between some indoor and some covered outdoor seating making it nice to have the option for those sunnier days. The drinks here are made the same as any other Ava Roasteria which I have always liked, and the food also appears the same although I have not tried any at this specific location. The inside is usually very chill with not too many patrons, making it a quiet environment if you are looking to do some work. They also have free wifi which does not require any password. In terms of location, it is located in Progress Ridge which has so many stores around and right off a lake just down some steps from the back entrance making it a great spot to take a quick walk with your coffee on those nicer days. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Ava Roasteria among all of the locations available around Oregon! read more

My friend and went to the Beaverton one yesterday to sit and chat. I've never been here, so it was a fun adventure. We walked by the pastry counter and they have one of my favorites, cannoli (unfortunately I'm now GF, so I just over it). I tried their Spanish Cream Latte and the gentleman who waited on us suggested I do it iced (I asked which he suggested, hot or iced). My friend had the hot caramel apple Chai and both were yummy, not too sweet. The coffee was smooth and flavorful. I openly admit I'm a coffee snob to the enth degree, so this was a pleasant surprise. I don't like super sweet drinks, so it was lovely to have just hint of sweetness and to be able to enjoy the coffee taste. My friend let me taste her Chai and it was spicy from the nutmeg, light on the caramel, with a great apple taste. If you've never been to Ava Roasteria, I highly recommend them. I love this coffee shop, there is something about the peaceful plaza that this shop is placed that makes me feel so at ease when I am here. The serene lake in the back is appreciated in the cold seasons, and my kids love the splash pad when the hotter months come around. The staff at Ava is so personal as well, not only do they have a wide range of drinks and FOOD, that other shops just don't have, but when you go there as long as I have the staff will begin to remember you order. Ava's is walkable to me. Close by and they have really yummy coffee. But everything here is so hit or miss. One day it's great service. It's fast. The order is correct. The next day it's not good in any way. One super annoyance of mine is that they have a rewards thing at the checkout and over many months STILL didn't have a rewards program. So why use that or have it out?? The ambiance isn't great. Like it's not relaxing. It reminds me of a Panera. It's loud and hard to hear inside. I stopped here for coffee with a friend after a long hike. I got a chai tea latte and a fruit tart and they were both really good. We sat outside which was really pleasant. This place is right by where I work, so ideally it would be nice to come here on a semi regular basis. Unfortunately, I will be bringing my coffee/lunch with me from now on after my experience there. The coffee always has a bad aftertaste, so I thought matcha would be a good choice. I am not sure how you mess up a matcha latte, but they did. Little to no flavoring used, even though it definitely costs extra. I also ordered an everything bagel, toasted with butter. The bagel was SO chewy and SO un-toasted that I literally could not eat it. The butter was hard as a rock. and they served it with a plastic knife, which I had to wait about 5-10 minutes for because I had to ask for it. The drink was good but fairly pricey for coffee. The area was clean. My only issue is watching one of the people working behind the bar fill their personal bottle while using the ice scooper and not cleaning the scooper, but rather throw it back into the ice chest. I used to come here quite often and it was always hit and miss with service. The last couple of times it's like these kids don't want to work. Both times in the last 2 days I'm waiting at the counter for more a couple of minutes with ZERO acknowledgment. I get it 2 people, 1 on coffee and 1 on food but at the very LEAST, acknowledge your customers. Yesterday it also took about 5 minutes to get my coffee. I watched as the barista was making blended drinks, while doing that he could have gotten the coffee shots ready. Nope. Everything was very slow. I had enough today. We went here two mornings in a row and had very different experiences. On the first day my mocha was messed up they begrudgingly remade it..and messed up again haha. The layout of the coffee shop doesn't feel ideal though, walkway to the cashier is a little awkward as it's sort of tucked away behind a partition wall from the dining area. Lots of food options and plenty of hot items to choose from. I like that you're able to customize breakfast sandwiches as well. We got a butter croissant warmed up and it was light, flaky and buttery. I got a matcha latte with soy milk and though I'm glad they don't add any sugar to it like cough cough Starbucks cough cough, I found it to be quite watery so I doubt I'll be ordering that again. First time eating here. Order a turkey cranberry sandwich. $13.95. The worst ever. one little sliced turkey with cranberry juice (not suace). The bread was completely dry and soggy in parts from the cranberry juice. I can't believe $13.95 is what they charged. Dropped in to grab a coffee for the GF. The front door had a sign on the front saying masks were required, which is great. What wasn't so great was behind the door: The place was intensely packed, and only the barista and one patron were wearing masks. Guys, I LOVE Ava Roasteria. I've been here multiple times and even been to different locations and this one is my favorite! It's got a ton of seating and a really great view when sitting outside. The employees are always nice and friendly each time we're here. This time I tried their seasonal drink, the Maple Bar Mocha. It was soooo good! I love maple anything. I wish this wasn't seasonal but I'll make sure to order as often as possible while it's still around. Our favorite thing to get while here is their cake! The strawberry cake is AMAZING. It's like, a puffy cloud of strawberry goodness. So so so yummy. Usually we just split a slice but we wanted to try their other cakes too! So we got their chocolate fudge one too. This one was also really yummy! It's a perfect chocolate cake. It's just a LOT of chocolate so I recommend sharing a slice with someone! The strawberry is our all time favorite though. Anyways, I love Ava Roasteria. My husband and I make sure to stop by each time we're on this side of town. If you end up going, make sure to get a slice of their strawberry cake!
