I quite enjoy the Ava Roasteria in Progress Ridge. I've been going to this chain for some time now and can confidently say that this is the nicest one I have been to. The baristas working at the front have always been very kind and welcoming to me, and I have never had any issues finding seating. As shown in the pictures, they have the option between some indoor and some covered outdoor seating making it nice to have the option for those sunnier days. The drinks here are made the same as any other Ava Roasteria which I have always liked, and the food also appears the same although I have not tried any at this specific location. The inside is usually very chill with not too many patrons, making it a quiet environment if you are looking to do some work. They also have free wifi which does not require any password. In terms of location, it is located in Progress Ridge which has so many stores around and right off a lake just down some steps from the back entrance making it a great spot to take a quick walk with your coffee on those nicer days. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Ava Roasteria among all of the locations available around Oregon!

I used to go here several times a week and he was always amazing, but today I came back after a while..... there was only one girl working at eight in the morning which is rush-hour as far as coffee goes! She was very sweet and apologetic for the slowness because it was just her making sandwiches ready and coffee ready. The bagel sandwich is very bagel itself is almost stale. I ordered a breve latte, it taste very bright and not drinkable. Their fruit tart was very old tasting also. To make

I mean matcha and a view like this ? It can't get any better!! Ava will forever and always be one of my favorite cafes here.. every location has its own special vibe but they all have nice staff! And such a nice place to study.. read a book or chat with a friend!

Unfortunately, I've never once gone here and had a good coffee. I guess you can just go there if you want to sit and chat.

Now that the sun is shining and the weather is gorgeous the outside patio seating area is open. Great place to meet for coffee and pastries or grab in the go.

I stopped here for coffee with a friend after a long hike. I got a chai tea latte and a fruit tart and they were both really good. We sat outside which was really pleasant. The large glass garage doors opened while we were there and it made the whole place a lot more open. The service was good, nothing really to note there.

Results- - Canned (not fresh) peaches used in drink. This may have caused weird aftertaste that does not have that familiar peach flavor like other places. - Flavor is way too sweet for 50%. - Light ice was done correctly When I walked away I quickly realized that they did not add my crystal boba toppings to my drink. I just had a few slices of lemons. After walking back to let them know, the girl who prepared my drink admitted to the guy that I questioned the issue about that she forgot to add it. No apologies from the girl directly and it was passive but only from the guy whom I mentioned the issue to. They have a lot of young kids working here and it looks like they work fast but they need to read the ingredients to fulfill the order correctly and to be consistent. I may give this place another try but will be sorely disappointed if they miss the mark again. (FYI- This exact location used to be Nobibi which quickly went downhill and this new business took over.)

I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

I explained we saw the paper and she said no that was for something else. I then SUGGESTED she put up a sign explaining that tanghulu was made only in Saturdays and she started arguing with me about why I was wrong. I again explained it was a suggestion. At that point I should have just walked out, this store is only open like 4 days a week and the days it is opened they barely sell anything! My friends play an Avatar based d&d so I got some of these candy games for them and we got two parfaits (one raspberry chocolate one strawberry.) we told her we wanted our order to go. She handed our food to us without lids and we had to ask for them. My ice cream was okay, it was vanilla soft serve, with strawberries, and strawberry sauce, nothing crazy (but better at McBees!) but my partners was GROSS! The raspberry was overpowering and even though it didn't list coffee it had a STRONG flavor of coffee. I hate coffee. We ended up throwing his away it was so gross! Seated upstairs so felt bad the waitress had to go up and down many many times. The empanadas were awful. I am being extremely honest. It seemed as if they were pre frozen and lacked flavor and filling. We were so surprised at the quality and price. I also had the shnitzel and it had no seasoning and was so bland. With a sad excuse for chimichurri. That seemed haphazardly put together, again lacking any flavor. Was it an off day based on the amount of people raving? Maybe. But also maybe they aren't aware of the better options in Portland so lack the awareness of true potential in this cuisine. I recommend Lechón if you want real chimichurri and empanadas.

We tried four empanadas (chorizo, pollo spicy, humita, and imposter) along with an order of papas, and that was more than enough for the two of us. Each empanada had a wonderfully flaky, golden crust. Service could have been a touch more attentive, especially given the place wasn't too busy, but overall, it's a lovely new addition to the neighborhood -- cozy, tasty, and full of potential.
