I personally hadn't had traditional boba tea in almost a couple years...long story short it was a more expensive habit than that Seattle coffee house, and even more unhealthy. The other day we went to Big Al's for some video games and a couple games of bowling, so i decided to break my boba fast. My son got a Strawberry Smoothie with boba, and I got my standard Thai tea with boba. I was a little hungry too. My son said that the cheese sticks were fire, but I felt like going off the grid. I got an order of the fried lobster balls...and I was glad I did. I couldn't tell with 100% certainty that it was actually lobster. The flavor and texture kind reminded me of the fake crab sticks, but regardless it was a perfect bite to go with the tea. The breading was super crispy but also very minimal. The filling was delicious and I assumed it was lobster as advertised. I could have eaten 10 of them, but $6.99 for 6 was a pretty good price. The service was pretty good. I really like their Snow Globe milk tea and that's usually what I would get from here. I recently tried their Lychee black tea with rainbow jelly. I would say the lychee black tea was a little overwhelming sweet when I ordered it to be half sweet. Quick service, depending on how many orders they get. There's also lots of toppings to choose from; it may even be the most toppings I've seen offered in a boba shop. They also have some snacks like popcorn chicken and egg puff waffles if you're craving more than just a drink. I also like the stamp cards to earn stamps with every drink. I notice that in the shop, they've moved all the chairs and tables to one end of the shop, which limits the amount of seating. This makes the shop look empty and not an ideal place to come and chill. Although I think this is a common theme in their shops. I got the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with 50% sweetness. This will be the last time I ever come support this business! They are so unaccommodating and inflexible. I tried to adjust sweetness level and they won't allow it, they won't allow any adjustments to my drinks. I bought 4 drinks and I asked for a bag, they tried charging me! This boba place is okay. It is conveniently located in the progress ridge shopping area. I ordered the jasmine green milk tea with boba. Prices were average for what you pay elsewhere. My order was $4.95 and there is a $0.75 charge for boba, plus the tip if you pay by card so around $6.00-7.00 a drink. I got mine with 80% sweetness because I don't like my drinks too sweet. Even still, it was crazy sweet! So maybe next time I'll order 50% sweetness level. They ran out of the normal boba (or I was told that the normal boba wouldn't be ready for a while) so they substituted with the mini boba. My receipt says that Fiona was serving me today. She was really nice! FYI, the chairs and tables were stacked in the corner during my visit today (possibly a Covid precaution) so keep that in mind if you are planning to meet a friend here. The inside is very clean and there were lots of available tables to sit at on a Saturday afternoon. The drinks are sold in only one large size, hence why all the milk tea drinks start at $4 and above. There's an extra .50 fee for add-ons such as boba, aloe jelly, coconut jelly, coffee jelly, pudding, etc. There are also food items such as basil popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, fried calamari, fried chicken wings, and fried tofu in the $4-$7 range. My wife and I ordered the royal milk tea with boba ($4.75) and okinawa milk tea ($5) and requested light ice for both. The drinks came out within five minutes, which is speedy service. The taste of the royal milk tea was very sweet, which I wish I had known before adding boba, which further adds to the sweetness. The okinawa milk tea tasted very similar to the royal milk tea and it was tough to put a finger on what differentiated the two drinks to warrant a price difference. My thought was that these both taste like regular milk teas without any distinctive flavor. The ice cubes are pretty big and "light ice" meant 30% filled with ice. For the few of you that follow me you may notice that I've been lamenting Portland's bubble tea game. We're making steps. I love the fresh brewed teas that they use. I really enjoy the flavor of the royal tea. I just wish I knows more about what it actually was. I also like the variety of jelly textures and flavors. The smooth fig jelly is a nice change of pace from the infant choking solid jellies. The food is amazing. It reminds me of Taiwan. The only complaint I have is that the service of the food is really inconsistent. I'd say I spent about 30 minutes waiting for four different items all served at vastly different times. I've realized that it really affects me in a negative way because I'm sensitive to caffeine. I ordered a Jasmine Green Milk Tea and it was dairy free and very tasty. It was floral and light. I added lychee coconut jelly plus 30% sweetness and it made it super good. The lady was kind and helped answer our questions. They have fresh milk teas which have dairy milk and they have regular milk teas which contain dairy free creamer. I really enjoyed my drink! Hubby ordered Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and his was also very tasty! We loved the roasted taste and the subtlety of the oolong tea mixed with the creamer which tasted super creamy and good! What's nice about this establishment is that hey also have some of the tasty snacks that you can enjoy with your drink. I have been here twice and both times the place is packed. Some of the drinks I've enjoyed so far are the lychee black tea, Okinawa milk tea, and the honey peach tea. The first time, my order was correct, but the second time, there were some errors made. They are still in their soft opening mode, so there are a bit of kinks to work on. The drinks so far have been refreshing and their basil popcorn chicken has been phenomenal! Grand opening weekend with drinks at 2.50, what a deal! For a Sunday at 6:30pm it wasn't as crowded and waiting in line went by fast as well as getting my drink. With a large menu on the wall and paper menus it was hard to choose what to get as there are several categories and then quite a variety of snacks and food too, the most I have seen so far compared to other boba shops in town. I got the Amber pearl latte all standard in terms of ice and sweetness adjustments. I first tasted some coffee but realized it was fresh milk and brown sugar. A drink I realy enjoyed as the boba was freshly made-so soft and chewy. As I had an iced drink, it helped make the boba chewier but also noticed the brown sugar crystallizing which made it hard to drink at times. As the employees call your order number it can be hard to hear and as the menu doesn't have descriptions for their drinks it was hard to choose. Also, regularly the drinks start at $4-5.25 without toppings unless stated in drink type, as those are an additional 0.50-0.75 cents. A little on the pricey side depending on what you get. I did see some card decks and game on the small ledge by the bathroom which would be nice to use later on and one trash bin by the ordering counter, which if a lime you have to cut through. I really want to like this place, but the taste is unfortunately not there. We ordered two oolong milk teas with pearls, a royal milk tea with pearls, and the basil fried chicken. The service had a lot of kinks; they forgot an order and were slow. But! they're super new and just starting up so I can totally understand. The workers were friendly and apologetic about the wait; the stars are mostly for them for being kind through the rush. The tea taste though, most egregiously, is almost nonexistent. It really just tasted like watery milk with boba. A plus was that they weren't too sweet though! The fried chicken was well fried, but we didn't notice much of a basil flavor although there was fried basil mixed in. I'm hoping that these were just flukes and that they're usually better.
