To get here, there is a parking lot with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have the same menu to go along with the modern and spacious setup as most of their other locations. Located next to a branch of Powell Books, ChiCha San Chen is a great stop to get milk tea before browsing. When we visited on a Saturday afternoon, the place was buzzing, with all tables taken, a number of people waiting for drinks, but no line to order (note: this location is a larger one and it's not nearly as busy as the one I visit most often up in Bellevue). They are busy but very efficient, pumping out drinks from four different specialized teaspresso spouts. We opted to only get one drink this visit since it was getting a little too late in the day for additional caffeine. Dong Ding Oolong w/ Cream, Perfect Sugar, Less Ice w/ Boba ($7.50) - This tea has strong, deep earthy flavors from the heavily oxidized tea leaves. It otherwise has an extremely creamy mouthfeel, very pleasant to sip on slowly. Less ice actually might not be enough - the ice melts before completely cooling the drink down. It's cool enough, but not ice-cold. Perfect sweetness is around 50% sweet compared to other shops, which is good for me. It's a good soft pleasant sweetness, not harsh in any way at all. The boba is pretty consistent with other locations (some are a little firmer, some a little softer, but the spread isn't very large with the worst rating I've given a 4, best a 5, and the typical being 4.5). The pearls are large and chewy with great bounce, albeit a little too firm for my tastes. It's probably partially due to not being marinated in as strong of a sweetener as top tier boba. Still very good. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 4.5/5 Overall this Chicha San Chen is very consistent with other locations. It's a premium priced boba shop, but I think the extra money spent is worth the quality jump. Bathrooms - They have a bathroom code displayed at the counter but I couldn't find one in store. Finally got to try this boba spot! It's located in the Cedar Hills crossing shopping center. It's right near the movie theater. There are two entrances to the boba cafe. Walking in, I was taken back by the aesthetic. It had a clean, contemporary botanical vibe. The decor had circular plant engravings and a teapot array. There is a tablet to order off of and someone to take your order. There are display tvs with the menu and a booklet at the counter. I asked the employee what she recommend. And it definitely lives up to the hype. VERY tea forward drinks, the entire place smells deliciously fragrant with a pleasant aroma. Employees are super nice and usually offer a sample of a fruit tea or milk tea. My default is the Dong Ding Oolong Tea Latte with boba at perfect sweetness and no ice. The boba is always soft, sweet, and chewy - just perfect. I'm also a huge fan of the High Mountain Pouchong Tea with Mango on a warmer day! Why not 5 stars? I REALLYYY wish they had a loyalty program, and I wish their drinks were larger-sized. At nearly $7 a cup, I'd appreciate either of those features that some of my favorite tea shops seem to offer. I also like the Orange High Mountain Pouchong Tea (5 stars) with boba. This combination highlighted the orange flavor more than the subtle green tea flavor. So excited that this place opened up in Portland!! I've been a couple of times now, and each time was fun and met my expectations. I recommend not changing the sugar in the drinks. Normally, my preference is to have 25% sugar, which is what I did the first time I was there. The drink tasted pretty bland and unmemorable. However, with their normal amount of sugar, the quality of the tea really showed through. I appreciate that they put the 100% sugar in a place that emphasizes the best parts of the tea itself in a boba drink. I also really like how their menu is not extensive. I don't love BBT for the sugar, but for the tea flavor (surprise, surprise) and if you love tea too, Sprint, don't walk to the near CCSC. This CCSC location just opened up not too long ago. It's spacious and clean and got decor that pays homage to its tea roots from Taiwan; even their tea extraction machines are unique to just them. I decided to give this place a try again and some of my friends haven't tried and so we went together! I ordered their green tea cream, light sweetness and regular ice. Yes, this is still a pricier place to order boba but I liked this drink a lot more than the pervious one. Quick, easy ordering on a Sat at noon. I was in and out within 8 minutes. The cashier was very helpful, gave me a sample, and let me smell a few tea options before deciding. The location is awesome. There's a Winco for affordable groceries and a New Seasons for specialty groceries at either end of the building ChiCha is in. I got the high mountain pouchong with passion fruit and bubbles (light sugar, no ice). The passion fruit was fresh shined as the main flavor with tea astringency left on the tongue. I've been waiting for this location to open for a long time. I decided to wait until the hype died down for a better experience, as some mentioned the quality wasn't as great as the WA location during the grand opening. After visiting many times, I'm glad everything here tastes just as good as I remember. Drinks are actually cheaper here compared to the WA location. No matter what time I went, my wait time was never longer than 5 minutes. My go-to drink is bubble milk tea (black tea) with honey or cream and konjac. I always opt for less sugar to make it healthier and to enjoy a stronger tea flavor. I also ask for less ice since the drink volume is extremely small, especially for the price. The tea is strong and concentrated--so much so that it kept me up until 3 AM one time when I had it too close to bedtime. I wish this location offered insulated bags for large orders like the WA location does. It makes a big difference when ordering in bulk, and the bags are reusable, which is a nice bonus. read more

With a lot of anticipation , Chicha San Chen finally opened in Beaverton and I figured I should check it out. My first impression was good. The space is clean, modern, and spacious. I like that they included lot of green/fake plant accents to make it more inviting. As the perfume of tea hit my nose, I knew I was at a legit tea house. There were a lot of people gathering around the counter but they were a bit overwhelmed with the choices, so I was able to "skip the line" as I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered a dongding oolong tea latte with bubbles with "light sugar" and "less ice". It's my go-to bubble tea whenever I visit Taiwan and it's so good. If you never tried it, I highly recommend chose Oolong as your tea base as it elevates the milk tea. The first impression of the tea was: "oh it's really good!" It was not too sweet and you can taste the quality of the tea base. But after 3 to 4 sip-and-chew, I realized the bubble was actually quite sweet. Personally I think it's a bit too sweet for me, but it's a personal preference and not a deal breaker in any form. The only wish I have is for the staff to be more knowledgeable of the tea flavors and notes. So they could help me decide which tea base I want. Overall, I enjoyed it. I'm very grateful we have multiple authentic bubble tea shops in the Beaverton area. That makes me happy. PS. I also like their cupholders with the carrying handles as you can hold it like a mini bag. I think it's a more environmentally friendly way to skip plastic bags. read more

Swung by during the grand opening then have been back twice and thank the lord the lines have let up haha The grand opening had a 15 min line but a 1 hour wait for the drinks but..in all honesty, it was worth the wait in my opinion. We were offered samples of the milk tea while we were waiting and it definitely made me realize just how good the tea was. Our first time through my husband got the classic fruit tea and I had the bubble milk tea; less ice, perfect sugar. And let me tell you, the perfect sugar was just that. Delicious without being too sweet and making me have diabetic flashbacks. The fruit tea was good too but my go to is always the classic milk tea so you know I had it during my second visit as well. My husband tried the cassia black tea mousse which he also really enjoyed; light and flavorful without being too sweet or too bland. On return trips, I tried the dong ding oolong which I liked but didn't love as much as the bubble milk tea. What can I say, I'm a basic person. Prices are absolutely fair for the taste and quality and I would totally visit this spot more frequently if it was closer to me.
