    Pup bowl is a hit

Well we have only been here once and my daughter LOVED her Rush Bowl! She got it to go and it was a perfect HEALTHY and filling snack for her on our way to Rainier Forest for our girls weekend! As you can see our pup REALLY enjoyed his bowl as well. This is a cute little smoothie/bowls shop with a warm and cute atmosphere to chill in while you wait on your order!! I LOVE that neon sign!

We went to the grand opening and were the first in line. They were giving a rush bowl as a promotion to the first 50 people. The staff were friendly. We ordered a Chai Mystique and Oasis. They were both so fresh and yummy. We enjoyed the bowls. I would just mention the bowls are very large. It would be great if they offered a smaller size that wasn't as big and would offer the opportunity to be more cost effective for my family of five. It can really add up if you add toppings and other boosters. It was good and a great healthy option. I know my kiddos will be back. It's nice to have another option at Progress Ridge. Welcome to the neighborhood!

I went to Rush bowls grand opening and the first 50 people received a free bowl. I was first in line as I had just finished a Pure Barre class across the way! I ordered the oasis bowl with strawberries. While I am super impressed with the grand opening special, the person at the register was not quick or knowledgeable on the register, so it took awhile and I felt bad that the 50 people behind me would have the same slow experience. I waited about 8-10 minutes. The bowl was flavorful, granola and topping were really good too but the price is a bit steep almost $13.00. It would be great if they offered a smaller size with a lower price point. Because the one size can feed two people!! I really do hope they stay busy and do well. I plan to try a few more flavors!

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first customers on opening day at the new Beaverton location of Rush Bowls! The owner and employee we met were both so friendly and happy to answer any questions we might have. We both opted for their recommendation, which was the beach bowl, and they're absolutely delicious! Such a refreshing way to start a hot morning during this heat wave. The granola topping is perfectly light and crispy, which adds a great crunch to the smoothie texture. The color changing spoons were also a fun surprise that I'm sure kids will love. We live close by so we will definitely be regulars. Highly recommend checking it out!

Went here for my birthday and OMG absolutely worth it! It was so delicious and healthy . The blueberries were the size of quarters , they definitely don't skimp on anything.

Ya know, it's weird that this has been in my drafts for forever. But I like this place. I like that…read morethey were down with the açaí bowl situation before it was cool (or at least, before it became de rigeur and/or spread to the damp and drippy PNW). I started chowing down on smoothie bowls in sunny southern California and the majorest of major metros like Manhattan, and it seems like it took forever for the "trend" to spread to our rainy neck of the woods. One could certainly get wheatgrass shots every which where, but smoothie bowls, not so much. ANYWAY, Carioca Bowls was leading the vanguard of delish and genuine açaí bowls in PDX long before it was an expected food variety in all hippie-ish towns in the US. Their bowls meet my exacting ingredient standards: Now that smoothie bowls have gone mainstream, many are just lightly disguised dessert with "health food" marketing: Hidden sweeteners and grody additives pushed on the unsuspecting hoi polloi ruin it for people who don't do their homework. But not Carioca Bowls: You can ACTUALLY get an unsweetened açaí bowl if that's your jam (it's mine: If I wanted dessert, I'd get a cupcake), and they don't drown the top in honey (honey has its place, and that place is far away from me), and drink in the extremely second-wave granola vibes while you're at it. Third-wave hippie food, like third-wave coffee shops, have suffered a loss of soul: Minimalist design, LED lighting, and cookie-cutter staff with vaseline smiles beckoning "welcome in!" with vacant looks in their eyes have sapped a lot of the joy from the spaces serving hippie food and matcha tea. Carioca Bowls remains a comfortingly messy, quirky callback to sincerity: Murals, houseplants, low lighting, a big messy garden-y space outdoors for sitting and chowing, organic unfussy aesthetics that make the whole scene just feel welcoming and comfy. You can eat your bowl here and not feel like you're a nuisance to the staff, or like there's a glaring spotlight on you (unlike SOME smoothie/juice/bowl places I could mention). Nary a whiff of extruded white plastic ANYWHERE in this place. It makes me feel at home, the way a wheatgrass-sniffin', long-hair-havin', big-hug-givin' hippie should feel. When I walk through the door, I feel RELAXED, ya know what I mean? Anyway, give it a try - this isn't my 'hood but I will still occasionally make a pilgrimage just to get a bowl and drink in the vibes. So if I were writing a Michelin guide (buy those tires!) I suppose I'd give this at least a star, as it's worth a special trip (IF you're into what I've described here - it's highly specific, but it's MY vibe). Anyway, long live Carioca Bowls!

Plus the two girls at the front stood there and debated with the guy working the register for nearly 10 mins on which drink they each wanted. I mean, seriously? If you haven't made up your mind by the time you make it all the way up to the counter and there is a long line behind you, kindly step to the side and let some other people go ahead and place their orders until you've finally made your decision so that the line keeps moving and doesn't bottleneck due to your indecisiveness. Fortunately I wasn't in a huge rush, but the other people in line looked like they were, and it was seriously all I could do not to speak up and say something to both of them. But maybe that's just the Southern sassiness in me coming out ;) Anyways, overall I'd still rank it a 4-star experience (inconsiderate/oblivious counter hogs aside), and I will likely be back again at some point in the future... Just maybe not at lunch time.
