The baristas here are excellent and I am a former barista, trained by the very particular coffee folks at Port City Java... out of Wilmington NC. I stopped here on the way out of my Planet Fitness not knowing what I would expect or should expect. What I got was an excellent roast with a perfect balance of sweetness, if I did not care for sugar at all. But if you're looking for your corporate coffee chain, this is not it. They also gave me a lovely chocolate coated espresso bean as sort of a finisher. Walk up hang out. There is no ambience to speak of because it's a walk up coffee shop people. You aren't gonna be able to remote work from Human Bean. You want a great cup of coffee you can find it here? But if you like the burnt roast at the Bux... She was nice as I asked for more espresso shots and she told me there's already 5 shots so I decided not to since I am not in desperate need for more caffeine haha. This was my first time trying coffee at The Human Bean, so I can't be sure if the disappointment comes from this location in particular, or if I'm just not a fan of their offerings in general. I ordered the "Mexi" iced coffee, and unfortunately, the ratio of coffee to chocolate to cinnamon was way off. The drink was overwhelmingly sweet, which overshadowed the intended flavors. My partner opted for a variation of their white chocolate mocha, as recommended by the barista. However, it too was excessively sweet, to the point where it was difficult to recognize it as a coffee drink at all. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I also appreciated the added touch of the chocolate-covered coffee bean that accompanies each drink. While the drinks didn't meet our expectations, the excellent customer service and thoughtful extra chocolate covered coffee bean were definitely highlights. read more

Oh no what ever happened to this place? I would always come here and get there breakfast sandwiches. Now I'm coming back to find out they don't make them anymore. This is unacceptable. I feel like this is important to callout as a learning opportunity. Also feel keen on reviewing seeing as I used to work at a coffee shop. I stopped in today at mile 8 of my 10 mile run. I was having a great run but needed water. I stepped into this location (Beaverton) as I have been here before and enjoyed the atmosphere. I asked if I could get a cup of water and if I had to pay I would (ridiculous to even pay for water). Although from the reaction it seemed as if I just asked for the most complex drink to order. There was no "no worries" or "alrighty anything else?" She was just silent and turned to the girl beside her and quietly say "he just wants water?" Is ordering water a foreign concept?? I feel like if she was hesitant from the beginning she could have educated me from the start. She continues to slowly start to fill the cup with ice and fill the water. She hands it to me and with some tone, says "usually not at this location." There was no "thank you, come again" or any sense of goodbye. she could have not meant anything by it but as someone who grew up in the service Industry and currently work in corporate marketing, tone and perception are everything. It's what keeps customers coming back. I'm planning to go back and order water again along with a pastry or something in respect to the "policy" of no free water? The local Dutch Bros use to be our regular stop but they get our order wrong way too often. The staff at Human Bean are young (like most drive throughs) but friendly. Running errand lately I've passed by The Human Bean a few more times than I normally would, so I've been frequenting it more than the other guys. They have some very tasty options on the menu that are not just coffee drinks. They have teas, smoothies and you can even add protein to your selection. They even offer muffin top baked goods. My husband doesn't drink coffee so I brought him a smoothie to enjoy instead and he seems to like the different fruit smoothie options available. I added the app to my phone to grab the rewards since it looks like I will make this place a stop in my day when I'm in the area. This coffee company is spot-on! I love how all the different franchise locations across the State appear to be similar and consistent across the company! I really love their "Snowy Mocha" as a special treat, and last time I was there they had a Special of the month that was "Raspberry + Snowy Mocha" Raspberry Syrup+ White Chocolate Mocha+Breve = deliciousness! I also love their "Muffin Tops", the chocolate Chip is my favorite, it is soft, chewy and satisfying! This new Human Bean has a drive thru, inside seating, free wifi, friendly helpful baristas, pretty solid coffee, and a number of food choices including a few different hot breakfast sandwiches. The hard chairs were not super comfy depending on how tall you are because of their low back. But there are some other better seating choices if you are lucky. Our coffee was a LITTLE hot, like not quite drinkable hot but once it cooled down it was pretty good. We asked for half sweet mochas with an extra shot and they nailed that. I liked my sausage and egg breakfast sandwich just fine. This is a great option in a part of Beaverton where there previously was a coffee wasteland. Yay. P.S. Get a punch card. P.P.S. This place is one of my favorites. Their service is always consistent, fast, and pleasant. They also make quite a wonderful mocha. It's never too sweet or bland, just perfect. The chocolate covered espresso bean is also a plus. I've had other hot, and cold drinks from them and have been perfectly happy with those, too. They also have a selection of pastries. I love how such a brief interaction at a drive through can leave you with a smile. The women who served us was so kind. Not only did she give us chocolate covered espresso beans, but she noticed we had our dog in the back and gave her a special treat too. This was my first time here, and currently only the drive-thru is open. We ordered a Breve, and my husband had the Lumberjack. Currently, they are donating $1 for every Lumberjack sold to Men's Health. Both of our coffees were yummy. We also ordered a muffin top, and a granola bar with raspberry. I love human bean... But this location is a joke. I deliver for a living. I start early in the morning and go till late in the evening. It's important for me to have my coffee, along with my driving Drinks. I stop by human being almost daily. I have been to this location many times, and they've gotten my drink order correct only twice. This location is wildly inconsistent with their drinks. I can't tell you how many times I have paid for a drink and this is the only location where they had to remake my drink not once not twice but three times, and still got my order wrong. as someone who can not have dairy products when I pay for a non-dairy product, I shouldn't have to drive back in the line to say hey I asked for non-dairy, you repeated to me that I was going to get nondairy, and then give me an ice cream based drink. Go to this location to say hi to the people who work there, they are very nice. When you make your order say it slowly and ask for them to repeat your order back. There's a chance they will still get it wrong, but at least you will have verbal confirmation. I'd Recommend going to ANY of their other locations for a good and consistent drink. read more

I have been here numerous times and the saving grace is the customer service. The ladies that work here are great. After that, this place sucks. It's 80 degrees out and the AC is broken, it feels like 100. The coffee always is mediocre. The big nitro is 7$. All the coffee is over price. This location is certainly convenient to a lot of places I go, so I stopped in mid-errands on a Saturday morning. It's open and airy inside, kind of industrial feeling and a bit noisy, honestly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I think they are definitely still working out the kinks a bit as they've been open...less than a month I think? Anyway I got the Haystack, which was advertised as a vanilla and butterscotch mocha. Fancy. I was feeling fall. I was worried it might be too sweet but got it anyway. Well, the coffee was smooth and strong, but I couldn't taste vanilla, butterscotch, or mocha. If anything it wasn't sweet enough? Which I rarely say about a coffee drink. Whatever I got was good though, but really just tasted like a latte. Also I got the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, but the bacon was not cooked really at all. Off it came. It was quite anemic looking and mostly fat? Odd. Without it though, the sandwich was tasty. Originally, they forgot to make/heat the sandwich, but noticed me still standing there 10 minutes later, apologized profusely, made the sandwich quickly and gave me a full punch card (free coffee next time) for the error. So that counts for a lot! I think just some execution stuff was off. Like super good intentions, but not quite firing on all cylinders yet. I'll be back. It's good coffee, really good, and the location is right. But next time I'd order a different sandwich and ask a few more questions if something is not quite right.
