    Almond milk cappuccino.
    Karen S.

We spent some time here getting a bit of work done and ordered a chai and a cappuccino with almond milk. Both drinks were good, though a little on the pricey side, and it would be great if there weren't an extra charge for non-dairy milk. The barista was a bit reserved, but the coffee shop itself seems popular with locals and has a steady, welcoming vibe.

A local coffee shop with heart. Great coffee and pastries. Service with a smile. A feel of community fills the customer seating area. It's across from the office so I've been a handful of times and like it. I'll be going back often.

    Savory salmon crepe

I really miss Fresh Thyme, which was in this space previously, but I am thrilled that Symphony Coffeehouse has such a delicious lunch menu. I was worried it would be a standard coffee shop with a few pastries in a case. Instead it's a cute space with friendly staff and an impressive menu of sandwiches and crepes as well as coffee. I had a cold brew which honestly blew my mind a little and then a salmon savory crepe. It was perfect and I can't wait to go back.

Stopped by to meet a friend for a quick drink. Nice ambiance, clean, friendly staff. They have a ton of options it can be overwhelming. I got their drink special - Pistachio Rose Latte. It was delicious.

Love this little coffee shop! This is our third time here. We have ordered different treats and drinks each time and they have all been delicious! I need to come for breakfast and lunch sometime. I would definitely recommend this shop!

Stopped by here a couple of times, and each time has definitely been a treat. Simply put, the staff have been fairly cordial and service pretty quick for the most part. Here's a little bit about this little melodic coffeehouse: ~ Parking: If busy, it can be a bit challenging finding a spot. Otherwise you'll be parking around the corner. ~ Atmosphere: They have a few normal tables for two or four, with tall tables for along the wall. A couch next to the entrance. And a few patio tables. Nothing fancy with decor, just a few potted plants. Oh, fyi it can get pretty busy here. So once you find a table, grab it. ~ Staff: Really nice people that have helped us order and decide on what tasty pastries they offer. Never had an issue. ~. Coffee/Food: Excellent latte choices and spicy chai. I haven't tried their hot cocoa, but I've seen them and they look comforting. They also serve refreshers and smoothies as well. As for their food items, they actually have a lot more on the menu then what I was expecting. I've only tried a Lemon Mixed Berry Crepe ($11.95) which was really satisfying! And they do have a lot of sweet pastries, but also offer savory quiches, paninis, and bagel sandwiches too! Believe me, I've been undecided on what to get each time. So, I'll be back!

Symphony is one of my go to places! Great quality for coffee, a good amount of options for sweet treats/lucnh or breakfast, and amazing service! The day we visited the also had a guitar performer there so the live performance just elevated the experience!

    Homemade pumpkin spice latte

Sammy was a pleasure to chat with and she was excellent in her knowledge with the items offered. The homemade pumpkin spice is the best pumpkin spice item I have ever tasted. Presentation of drinks were very nice as well. Location is great and quiet with ample parking. The coffee shop was warm and inviting with music playing loud enough to hear but quiet enough to have conversations amd easily be heard.

Dull pumpkin spice late, tasted like mainly oat milk and pumpkin spice. Didn't wake me up.
    Tristan H.

Customer service and seasonal decorations were great, but the coffee was just oat milk and pumpkin spice. Girl was working on her own so she was rushed to get the orders done. The tres leche was also the worst I ever had, and was very stale. She said it was made in house, but was that in THE LAST DECADE?

    Cute sign

I adored this spot. 5/5 would go again. I think that the barista was nice. They were very patient. Their menu was wide and they even had their own flavor menu which was neat.

I have been looking for a decent breakfast/brunch place close by but so far no luck there. I am still recovering from renal failure so my mobility is severely limited. I travel mostly at the pleasure of the Veterans Transportation Service or Trimet Lyft. Today's Dr appointment finished up sooner than expected so I had some time to kill before the van returned to take me home. So I fired up my tablet and took a look on Yelp to see if there was anything of interest close by. Enter Insomnia Coffee. Lots of positive reviews. Right around the corner. So... off I go. I an a US Navy brownwater sailor. We drink coffee that tastes like coffee. No additives. None. Not even cream or (gasp) sugar. So when I told the barista [HA! The person who pours coffee into a cup] that i wanted a cup of coffee black I got this sort of deer in the headlights look. What? ...I'm sure she was thinking... no Madagascar cinnamon? no foaming goop? no stale crouton crumbs? no pumpkin pie spice? Ummmm seriously? People want their coffee to taste like pumpkin? Yikes. No Miss... just a cuppa Joe. Just like my first heart throb, Anna Mae Bullock....strong and black. And I have to say, insomnia delivered. Not a bad cup of coffee at all. Although I didn't really want to hang out there since it appeared that I had zero in common with anyone I saw there... hogging the comfortable looking chairs. So I had it in a paper cup, to go. Now I have a "thing" about drinking coffee from a large, ceramic mug.... I loathe tasting paper in my coffee and yes I can tell it's in a paper cup even blindfolded. but I digress. They did have a whole display area of decadent looking pastries and not the tiny, overpriced, bogus looking stuff you see at Starbucks. Not that i would ever go into a Starbucks even to use the rest room. They had several pies that made my mouth water and some gooey breakfast glazed things that would have seriously spiked my glucose. so I reluctantly passed. Perhaps next time :)

What I wasn't fine with was waiting over 30 minutes for a single drink. There were 5 or 6 people behind the bar, so I expected reasonably paced service. Instead, the whole place seemed to be running in slow motion. Maybe they were still recovering from an early rush ( I was there around 10am), but it showed. Our order got messed up, we had to remind the baristas what we'd ordered, and the energy from the staff was pretty cold throughout. The final straw: our drink was presumably forgotten. Multiple people who ordered after us got their drinks first. I eventually had to walk up to the bar, point behind the counter, and explain that we'd been waiting and my mom was sitting in the car. For a lot of people, going out for coffee is a treat; It certainly is for me as a student. When you're spending that money, you'd hope for at least decent service. Unfortunately, this visit was the opposite of that expectation.

I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

I'm not sure if they only make them on Saturday's or if Saturday is the day they have the most vegan options, but whatever. Anyways, I got there maybe 45 minutes before closing but they had already sold out. Disappointed I missed out, I headed a ways down the street near the QFC to see if the frozen yogurt shop I once went to there might have some non-dairy flavors. When I walked in to Cup & Cone I realized it was not a frozen yogurt shop anymore (I didn't remember the name of the old shop so I didn't realize it was gone). I was glad to see that there were some vegan flavors available, though. Nothing took my fancy (the person working said the chocolate frosting flavor was more dark and less sweet, so not my style) until I saw the vegan soft serve option on one of the signs! Vegan soft serve is non-existent outside of Portland, or so I thought. I now know where I will be going on hot days when I would kill for a cone. The ice cream is delicious and unique from a previous version of vegan soft serve I've had (RIP Food Fight soft serve, I will always miss you). A vegan soft serve cone here will cost you $6 (or I think $7.50 if you also need a vegan cone) but it's so worth it even just as an occasional treat. You also do get a lot of ice cream I would say. I made the mistake of asking for a regular cone thinking I would get a free sugar cone, but I just got a regular waffle cone. I realized afterwards that they probably don't even serve them in sugar cones because of how much ice cream you get, since sugar cones are pretty small. I know next time to just pay extra for a vegan waffle cone. You also can choose from vanilla, chocolate or swirl (I went for the swirl). I will definitely go back as much as possible! Would be cool in the future to see them get creative with the flavors maybe, and switch them out for a week or so. Please go try the vegan soft serve now, even if you're not vegan! I don't think you could possibly regret it. I was even shocked and almost sure that somehow the flavors weren't vegan, because they tasted even better than regular soft serve ala DQ or McD's.
