Vegan burger

My favorite spot in town for burgers. I constantly crave Farmer and the Beast because their vegan smash patties are smothered with delicious sauce, mushrooms, and onions. The vegan truffle mayo is delicious as well as their fries. I've gotten their lemonade before too and thought that everything was high quality.

Since the first visit, when craving a burger this is my ideal place to go! The smash burger here is delicious and always tastes fresh. Fries are great with their truffle sauce! I LOVE the truffle sauce so give that a try if you ever get the chance. Burger was $13 and fries are $5, not too bad price wise for a great meal. You just order on the screen when you're ready, and receive a text when the order is ready. Sauces are an additional 50¢.

Wow this burger was such a hit! We just got the regular smash burger. The meat was juicy and American cheese was creamy. I loved every bite of this burger. We got the her y ranch on the side with our fries, it was flavorful but not my cup of tea. Next time I will prbly get the special sauce which is the sauce they put on the burger too! The kiosk in the front makes for quick service and e ordered our food, got beers and by the time we sat or order was ready for pick up! You also can't beat breakside brewery. Burgers and beer is a match made in heaven. The patio is dog friendly and they have a lot of seating a super nice outdoor fire pit. We will def be going back. Perfect outting for a summer night

If you like really salty food, this is the place for you. Tossed the burger because it was too salty. I even asked for light salt on the fries and it was still salty. If you do eat here ask for no salt on everything. Not happy about spending $17 for food I had to toss.

Have wanted to try them for a long time. Went to the 23rd location a few times only to turn away because of the long line. (And crazy people hanging around.) Finally got here tonight. I'll just say I won't be going to most of the other burger places any more. The Beast Burger is a double smash urgee with cheese. I orders grilled onions on it and had them hold the pickles. Omg- just phenomenal. As close to a perfect smash burger as you can get. Crispy edges- but still juicy, American cheese and an amazing house made sauce. You can order a triple or a quad too. The fries were great too. Salty and fresh. Perfect with their house sauce too. Kind of a fry sauce or remoulade- but so good. Can't wait for my next visit. So good!

What do you get when delicious beer meets artificial turf meets picnic tables? Apparently tasty and delicious food trucks with friendly staff! Farmer and the Beast keeps their menu simple and savory. The deets: First, be prepared for a unique ordering system. In front of the window you will find place an iPad. Follow the prompts to place your order. There is a chance for special requests and clear markings for sides or sauces that will cost you extra. Note: There was a person who checked in with us as we ordered to see if we had any questions. Second, be prepared for a it to take a few minutes as it appears things are freshly prepared. This was evidenced by the blazing hot chicken (temperature, not spice) and the cool sauces/pickles. Third, enjoy the sun (hopefully), the artificial grass, the picnic tables. Lots of space for and a generous option between shade and sunshine. The food was, overall, very tasty. Our only hesitation would be the salt. The chicken batter appeared a little too salty and the fries, extra salty. What we couldn't discern was if the salt from the fries was permeating the sandwich or if there were two separate salts.

Great food at this cart in the Breakside brewery patio. Every element of the burger was quality, the fries were crispy, and the herby ranch was addictive. There was a good crowd at the brewery on a sunny Saturday afternoon, but the order was ready in just 13 minutes. I also liked their ordering system. You punch your order in at the kiosk with your phone number, and they text you when it's ready.

An exceptional fried chicken sandwich (with a side of Breakside).

Can't believe it when we saw farmer and the beast west of Portland and so close to home. Our go-to place for smash burger.

The burger was fantastic. The person at the counter was fairly rude. I'd go back again because of the food.

It was payday, my Friday, and my plans to make spaghetti carbonara were foiled by frozen bacon (…read moreoops) and a mountain of dirty dishes ( not. my. job.) and my freakin' exhaustion. Teen wanted boba, and we decided to order Mediterranean from this place which also strangely sells boba. Yes, I rewarded the chore avoidance. Sue me. I worked four tens, all week my mental health clients were stressed and distressed, and I was honestly a lump. We both ordered a Moroccan stewed chicken that comes with saffron rice, salad, and three spicy sauces - one yogurt and maybe sumac? , one sriracha, and one yogurt mixed with sriracha maybe? We liked the rice, chicken, salad, and the yogurt sauce. Just ok though. Not omg good. I wish the two other sauces had been in separate containers and not on the rice. My mint and honey tea was fine. Kid's boba was not full. Not because it spilled either, because it was sealed with the boba seal lid thingy. For $6 that was disappointing. The hummus and dolmades plate came with one sad not good pita, ONE, and I think our Uber eats driver flung it out the window like kids used to deliver newspapers from their bikes because yogurt sauce was freaking everywhere. The hummus was not great. Teen ( the dolmades fan) said the grape leaves were good. Probably not a repeat in store. One and done.

Well, after finally getting a chance to browse all the pods, I found Dad's chicken, but nothing was grillin'. So I came back here to Pares PDX Express instead. Checked out the side menu, checked out the prices, and out comes a brutha from anotha mutha! Welcomes me, so I asked my pare "What's good?" He said, "Everything!" smh, "Damn!" A good sign :(but not a good sign for me healthwise:) haha! I asked how long he's been open, and he said, "Since September." Still fresh and new to me, so my yelpie duty was to support my locals. Here's what I ordered: Drawn to the Crispy Kare-Kare ($15), this caught my eyes! (Optional read) Typically, the Filipino kare-kare meat used is with cuts of chuck steak and boney beef neck. Some like using pork hocks. Sometimes kare-kare will have beef tripe added. But personally for me, I love my mom's version using oxtail. I don't like the neck, I don't need tripe, it's gotta be OXTAIL!!! Besides, it's all about the stew and the saucy peanut buttery flavor. About Pares PDX kare-kare version... I saw "Crispy" and knew this was referring to either crispy pata or lechon kawali (aka deep fried pork belly with skin). They serve their kare-kare with crispy pork belly, bok choy, long string beans, and eggplant. The stew of peanut sauce was drizzled on top. With the home-made shrimp bagoong (fried shrimp paste) in between. I would have stayed outside on the patio tables, but it was going to rain. So I rushed home, and mmm mmm mmm the pieces were still nice and crispy indeed! I haven't had pork belly in so long that I was in heaven, not worrying if I needed to go to the hospital afterwards lol. You can have the dish with plain rice or garlic rice. I chose the garlic rice, which is almost a given. A bit of more information: ~ They've got a QR code to view the menu and/or place an order. ~ Majority or nearly all of the dishes were $15 average. ~ To feed your eyes, there are pics of the dishes on the side of the truck. ~ Service was pleasant and fast. Can't say I'll ever order what I can make myself, like adobo, sisig, pinoy style spaghetti, or lumpia, but I will definitely be back to try their version of pansit palabok, laing, dinuguan, and turon. I'll even try their "halo halo" next time! The Filipino authenticity, kinda like mom's style is here! Come check them out!

I'm leaving this review primarily for the incredibly frustrating and seemingly systemic…read moreunreliability when ordering delivery from PDX PARES. Multiple times now, I have placed an order, watched the status change to "Confirmed" and even "Preparing," only for the restaurant or their system to cancel the order abruptly after the Dasher is already assigned or on their way. This is not just a minor inconvenience; it completely wastes time and effort planning a meal. A major contributing factor is that they frequently forget to close and update their DoorDash channel, showing they are available for online ordering when they are not. It gives the false hope that the food is on its way, only to be cancelled last minute, forcing a scramble to find dinner/lunch elsewhere. The management needs to seriously address their online order process, communication with delivery platforms, and their kitchen capacity. If you cannot fulfill an order, it should be rejected immediately, not 30-40 minutes after confirmation. Until this issue is fixed, I cannot recommend ordering from here, especially for delivery. It's too unreliable to depend on.
