They have the BEST chicken wings! I am on a low FODMAP diet and can eat here. It's not easy to find a place to eat out.

The Frying Scotsman offered various fish options. I have only ordered the Large Battered Cod Fish and Chips (5 stars) because I prefer the classic choice. The quality and quantity were impressive. The large portion was big and shareable. The first time I got it I really thought I got an extra one by mistake. I reheat my leftovers in the oven. I prefer my fish and chips with malt vinegar, but this one doesn't need it. It was seasoned well enough that it was good as is. The delicately crisp batter had just the right thickness that complemented the fish. I prefer skinnier fries, but I liked these thicker and wider cut chips that were like potato wedges. It can sometimes feel greasy, but I'm definitely not counting calories when I indulge in this meal. It appeared to be a one person operation unlike the other food carts. It's been that same nice guy multitasking different orders. It's made to order so there is a brief wait before getting the hot off the fryer fish and chips. This food cart with 4 star service is one of my favorites.

Handwashing only appeared to occur after food contact had already taken place, rather than before preparation began. This practice raises concerns about basic food safety and hygiene standards, as proper handwashing was not consistently performed prior to handling food intended for customers this is a direct response from the owner I am going to report you to the health department

They're always crispy on the outside and soft/warm on the inside This one is located as a dual fast food spot with a Taco Bell, I've never eaten inside, this is the kind of food you take to go and eat at home. I can't speak to the cleanliness of the restaurant itself, but I'm sure it's satisfactory. I am rating the one star because they have a sign, once you're trapped in the drive thru that states they will not take orders or serve Long John Silvers in the drive thru. Then they try to pull some BS about how they want the food to be warm and fresh... okay and? It wouldn't be if I was in my car and got it? If you have to ask people to drive around and park so be it. I don't understand how they can have a sign, only visible once you're trapped in the drive thru at the first menu board, that states they don't sell in the drive thru half of what's offered. It's frustrating and misleading. I wonder if this is some weird company policy or if this is strictly this location. The only other location is in Troutdale and with another coupled with another Taco Bell. I'm half tempted to take the drive out there to see if they pull this crap too.

They have so many events throughout the month, including Monday line dancing once a month, Tuesday night trivia, Thursday night board games and puzzles and Fri/Sat live music. The downtown station is a go to spot for me, not just for the food options but for the variety of events. They are kid friendly, with their play zone and kid shows on one of the TVs. One of the lady bar tenders is super nice - I love her. Plus they do tap takeovers, goat/llama events - you name it. I love this spot

Comfortable. Plenty of tables & seats. 3. The Food Trucks: they're like competing with one another. They've got their price tag set to $18. 4. The outdoor patio is covered up. I should have known better than to come to this new local North Plains food pod location…read more(post-fireworks) on a Friday, July 5th afternoon lol. Because out of the four usual pods that are here, only SlackTide was open!!! Yippee!!! I finally get to try them too!!! Yippee Skippy!!! Here's my order: ~ Again, this was my first time trying this pod, so I went BIG. I ordered their best item, the $28 Captian's Platter. This consisted of two pieces of fish, in which lingcod was the "featured fish." Three pieces of fresh scallops. And three pieces of fresh shrimp. First of all, I was warned by the owner Brian that lingcod is a thinner fish. But being an avid angler, I was familiar with how big or long lingcod can get. I will admit the fish pieces were somewhat small, but I was warned. I had to get that deep-fried, forearm sized "British fish-n-chips in a newspaper" thought out of my head. The breading, however, was crispy good! The breading stayed on the fish as well. Another plus in my book! As for the scallops and shrimp, oh boy these were just as tasty, dipped in the cocktail sauce or tartar. Squeeze a lil' lemon, add a lil' salt, and mmm mmm!!! The good thing was, after eating that platter, I didn't have that greasy guilty feeling. Oh wait, there's more... ~ Who wants CHOWDAH?!?!?! MAAAAN, I've been up and down the Pacific coast and damn, SlackTide sells some good competition worthy chowder! Why? Because with each spoonful scoop, it had clam with every bite. The base was just right, not too thin, not too thick. It just tasted amazing to me, and thank goodness it wasn't overwhelmed by big potato filler pieces. I only sampled the 10oz cup for $8, but now I know next time to try it in a bread bowl. Welp, that's just about it regarding SlackTide. Call me a fan! Some may think its a bit pricey, but the seafood was cooked fresh on the spot, and EVERY bite was just pure blliss! I had a great talk with the owner Brian about how he manages to do this part-time on the weekends. Man, much props! Fish only stays fresh for so long, so understandable with the short hours. But I'm all about supporting locals. FIVE Star-fish for these guys!!!
