The gentleman operating the cart was very attentive, friendly and definitely knows his way around a chicken. Chicken Burrito is $16, but the portion given to me far exceeded my expectations. Quite literally the largest burrito I have ever been given. Not only was the burrito big, but it was also super flavorful and packed to the brim with rice, beans, chicken, habanero sauce (added), and it came with some spicy sauce. I ate the first half, and will save the second half for next month when I'm hungry again. All jokes aside though, a burrito is easily 2-3 peoples worth of grub. We ate here multiple times a month, don't ask, won't tell... between their massive chicken burritos for $16 and their whole chicken combo, this man fed you for days! Burritos come with rice, beans, sour cream; the whole combo comes with a side of rice, beans, tortillas, onions and peppers galore. Whichever order you get, you get the choice of red or green salsa, the red is molten and hot to the core! The service is always friendly, but the food, on point almost every single time. The only thing that makes me feel like I can't eat this on a weekly basis, is the oiliness that collects from the chicken? Sometimes its barely there, other times, I question the golden liquid fats... perhaps its from them using the rotisserie spit? Whatever it is, its at least worth a try on your end. read more

So on my 7th day sitting in ICU with my very sick family member, my minion picked me up about 8:30pm to feed me dinner. You need to eat, said the annoying minion. Meh, I said. This set off the 154th lecture from annoying minion about taking care of myself, including the importance of protein, blah blah, so I popped onto my yelp app to see what was still open nearby that was not fast food or fancy sit down food or a chain. Clearly this is a food truck situation. Daddy's Chicken is a difficult to find spot in a food cart pod I never knew existed behind Walgreens on the west side of the parking lot. There were several other food trucks there too. I didn't look to see what all they offered, but they were open at 9 at night which is cool. I did note there is an Indian place selling chaat which looked interesting. Anyway. Chicken! We called in a family meal and a side of seasoned battered french fries. I have no idea who answered the phone but it didn't sound like "Daddy's chicken" it was " bueno" - which is cool, but worried us somewhat. Did we call the right place? In the end we wound up with a whole rotisserie chicken, cut in pieces and covered in grilled onions and jalapenos,savory rice, corn tortillas,fries, soupy beans, and super spicy red and green salsa. The chicken, rice, tortillas, and fries were bomb. I tasted the rest (they are not on my approved post colon cancer food list) and they were pretty bomb too. Be careful with the red salsa, minion got overenthusiastic and had a fiery mouth. But the chicken especially was moist and flavorful and I really enjoyed it. I found this food cart area by accident by waiting for my pick up at the Walgreen's pharmacy drive thru. To my surprise there are many fun carts offering various cuisine from Mexican to Indian. We picked Daddy's Chickens this time because the sizzling chicken on the rotisserie looked so good! We are big fans of Big's Chicken, so we were interested to see how Daddy's would compare. To our surprise, we really liked it. It's also roasted but in a Mexican-style marinade. We got the 1/2 chicken meal and every piece was tender and moist. It also came with side dishes (beans and rice) and some grilled onions, jalapeños and fresh tortillas. We really enjoyed it and decided to order the whole chicken meal on our next visit! Daddy's Chicken is one of my favorite food trucks. Definitely recommend this business! Their chicken is just so tasty. It's packed with flavor and the combos come with rice, beans, grilled onions and jalapeno, tortilla and some salsa. It makes for a wicked easy dinner option for us and is really satisfying. The chicken is seasoned very well and the doesn't rely on the salsa or anything else. It stands on its own. However making tacos out of it is the go to move. I've only ever seen the one guy working there but he's very friendly and I really appreciate the food he makes. I want to get the word out about this place because it's really exceptional and I want them to do well so I can keep coming back! read more

Amazing Hispanic food truck! 5 stars for the fire roasted ranchero chicken alone! I don't have any pictures because my very picky (food eaters) ate it all quickly! Small business, locally owned and operated. The owner was present and was very kind. The salsa verde was one of the best I have tasted in a long time. The grilled onions served with the chicken were delicious too! We paid about $40 for a whole chicken plus beans, rice, salsa, and tortillas and it fed 6 people and two kids with some to spare.
