This food truck is a true hidden gem and easily one of the best seafood spots I've found. The fish and chips were outstanding--perfectly crispy on the outside, flaky and fresh on the inside, and cooked to perfection. The clam chowder was hands down the most flavorful I've ever had, rich, creamy, and packed with clams in every bite. What makes this place even better is that the quality far exceeds what you'd expect from a food truck. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and every bite was packed with flavor. If you're a fan of seafood, this is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more. read more

I direct messaged them about the Hollywood location, to give them a chance to make it right, and they didn't respond, so I'm going to let them have it. Second time at this new Hollywood location. I ordered 3pc Rockfish (original) and 3 PC Basa (cornmeal). Two large (Bowls) of chowder. I asked the straggly long-haired, guy to dig from the bottom of the pot for my chowder , so that it's not all broth, and he did not. Mostly thin broth. The broth is thin as Consomee damn near. The flavor is good, ingredients good, just liquid this time though. Fish is damn good. Toys are better than the limp fries (they don't poke holes in the to-go container , so the food sweates, even though the crunch on my fish stood up to the steam). So, I finish my "chowder" and teach for my cornmeal breaded basa, and a long ass nasty hair with what appears to be something attached to it is on my food. . That same damn dude that I asked to spoon the chowder from the bottom, the dude that took the order, had to be his, because the other guys hair was short and the lady's hair was way darker. That long ass, straggly, ugly ass hair, on my f*cking food. Don't think I'll be back. Which sucks because when made right , and without long ass nasty crusted hair, the food was good. Top Boy, here I come. read more

This was top of our list to try. We love good fish n chips. This place lived up to their ratings. Friendly two guys. They had rock fish, cod, something called basa I think, which he told me was similar to catfish. Good tarter sauce. I got the salt n pepper option. The potatoes were amazing, I forget what they are called, maybe sidewinders, something like that. I think we will be back just to buy more of those. I know they have fries, and tots too. But this are the best. They also have a nice selection of hot sauce and vinegars. Nice and crispy batter, good flavor. My wife said her's were very crispy, a very good thing. I wonder if they have halibut? read more

Food was fresh and crispy. The batter is really nice and light. Got the salt & pepper seasoning for $1 extra, really liked the nicely charred o ions & peppers you get with that. The potato sidewinders are delicious--fluffy with perfectly crunchy outside. My only issue was that the cod pieces are so tiny!! I have never had such small pieces of fish with fish and chips! I see so w photos here with much larger pieces, others that are similar. Would be nice to know what you are going to get That being said, everything was well seasoned, I will try it again for the garlic honey and soft shell crab special. Service was very friendly and cheerful. My Yelp scale: 5 stars: Excellent, there is nothing I can think of to make it better 4 stars: really good, but a few things would make it better 3 stars: not bad, but I wouldn't go there again 2 stars: do not recommend 1 star: this place should be shut down read more

I went about two weeks ago. I spent $43. I have not been back. I have no plans to go back. Still looking for a good fish spot for Fridays. To be clear, it was not bad. It just didn't justify $43. read more

Coastal Vibes was amazing. My husband and I really wanted some fish and chips while visiting Portland, and found this place. It's located at Food Cart Pod, along with other food trucks. We were able to order right away. The owner was friendly and answered all of our questions. We ordered the fish and chips and the seafood chowder. It was a small wait, but the owner brought our food to us. We were sitting at a table and purchased some lemonade from another food truck. Since it was a little chilly, we ate in the car. The food was piping hot, yet soooo delicious. It had a ton of flavor. The seafood chowder was the perfect consistency with chunks of clams and shrimp. We hate that this place is all the way in Oregon because we would definitely be frequent customers. If you're looking for some great seafood in the area, definitely check this place out! read more

Our first time here and this place was calling me with a sign that read "rock fish plate" I've always wanted to try rock fish and I'm glad I did this spot fried them up in a light batter the pieces big fat and juicy along with fresh hot crispy fries and a side of slaw it all was so very delicious not a fishy aftertaste but with a juicy meaty white flaky fish that hit the spot .my new go to fish and chips is here . Thanks for reading and give them a try there's a nice vibe there and live music to relax with. read more

I ordered the three piece rockfish basket for $18. It was about a 10 minute wait so the fish was fresh and hot. The batter wasn't too thick. It was crispy and flavorful with and without tartar sauce. The coleslaw was a bit tangy but a refreshing balance to the tator tots (choice of tots or fries). I would be back to try other menu items and hope they offer shrimp plates in the future. read more

Found them on DoorDash and they became my favorite fish & chips spot. Like best I've ever had. Went to the actual food truck and DAMN fresh was even better. Which makes sense but still. I ate it too fast to grab a pic lmao But man, it's like they put crack in it. The tartar sauce pairs so well with it all and the clam chowder is more soupy than creamy but its still delicious regardless. read more

Located near a bunch of other food carts, just on the side of a building, it's hard to tell this place is there but once you notice it you have to try it! I came by on a Wednesday evening with pretty much no one else around so service of course was quick. Both the server and the chef were great making sure I had what I needed and knew all about their offerings! They were not kidding about the fish and chips with the hot honey sauce being amazing! I would definitely recommend trying that out! As for the option for sides, they had fries, tots and, sidewinder fries. I ended up with normal fries and they were seasoned perfectly! I haven't had fries this well seasoned from a food truck ever! Would highly recommend anyone looking for fish and chips to come here, they also had a seafood chowder which was also great, had all kinds of great seafood in it! I'll definitely need to return when they have their calamari in stock, I'm sure it's as good as the rest of their food! read more

Friendly people and the cod was good. Took about 10 minutes on a busy night. There was a live band playing in front.

The most beautiful words you might ever hear 'Do you want a sample of the chowder?' Unless you have an allergy, the answer is yes! It's so good. The cod is flaky and delicious. The fries were good, but a bit generic. I'd try the sidewinders or tots next time. Now if you'll excuse me, I need another cup of chowder. read more

Tried this place in the few food cart pod after driving by and always saying we should stop by. Got the 3 piece fish and chips and a bowl of chowder. Fish was cooked perfectly, light tasty batter and delicious tartar sauce. Fries could have gone another 30 seconds and had a bit more salt but overall good. Chowder was super rich and buttery and hit the spot! read more

These people know their trade. Whatever you order, you will enjoy or love. But whatever dish you get, get a cup of chowder. Another good food truck. Fish and chips (cod) are tasty. And the chowder was delicious

This fish and chowder food truck is a true hidden gem! I feel like I found a huge pearl in the oyster! The cod fish and chips had the perfect amount of batter fried to perfection. The fish was moist with just the right amount of crisp batter crust. I had it salt and pepper style with a salty peppering of sliced onion and pepper. But, the real star was the chowder! Loaded with clams, fish and shrimp in a creamy, but light soup. It was perfectly seasoned and served with oyster crackers. The tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and coleslaw were all house made and delicious. Wally and Henry run a tight ship, friendly and efficient. Food was nice and hot! I will definitely be back. This was way better than any other fish and chip cart or brick and mortar. 173 and Baseline area. Look to the side of the building! You will be pleasantly surprised!
