Grilled chicken and scrambled eggs
Nataly P.

Called to place an order, it was ready in less than 10min. I got a grilled chicken Banh Mi with scrambled eggs. Overall it was really good, the bread was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Protein was well cooked and had good flavor, the chicken wasn't as grilled as I expected it to be but it was still good. The veggies were cut pretty thick but it's not the end of the world, veggies tasted fresh.

Cute place, very spacious inside and lots of parking, there's some seating area for board games. Tried their grilled pork banh mi and it is a bit more pricey than other places though still competitive. Personally we prefer more meat and veggies. Stirfry egg noodle came with broth and the beef is very thin sliced and small portions, toddler approved though! Had their chili garlic sauce on the side, not much spice at all per our preference, we also eat very spicy. Overall would say it's a cute place to hang out

The food, service, and atmosphere was everything! Definitely recommend if you're in the area you won't be disappointed!

In a word, disappointing. Let's get straight to the point... if you are looking for banh mi... this is in NO WAY a competitor to Best Bagguette. Similar price, significantly less content. Great for folks in Hillsboro this is there, but no point venturing that far for anyone else. I'll go back to the OG for banh mi. I can't comment on other parts of the menu but this feels low value for me. They were so cheap they put all the veggies in one bag... what if this was for various coworkers?

Great food, great service, beautiful spacious location. The most difficult part is getting in and getting out of the parking lot, but they have parking.

Chili Oil Wontons, BBQ Pork Banh Mi & Kimchi Pork Banh Mi

Delish!! Was driving through the area and looking through Yelp for somewhere to stop for lunch. This place popped up so we decided to give it a go. SO glad we did! Small but not cramped space decorated well so it felt cozy and mix of seating options. Menu had variety without being overwhelming. Everything made to order and came out quick. We had the pork kimchi & the bbq pork banh mi's and some spicy wontons. We inhaled everything. Banh mi bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and plenty of filling. Wontons had really lovely flavour and a hum of spice. Owner was lovely and had a bit of a chat when she brought out our food. Would stop here again in a heartbeat if we're out this way.

Super friendly staff and a good bahn mi. Number 1 was good - a bit low on filling but it is a sub 10 dollar banh mi. Sweet chili ray wonton were good wish they added some veges to it

I was able to finally try. Every time when I wanted to try this place, they're closed for the day (haha). Environment: Anyways, they have a very small place but they made good use of the space they had. Great AC as it was warm when I visited. They had an interesting. They're known for banh mi but also Chinese dishes such as wonton and noodles. This place was partially self-service because you get your own cups and napkins. Staff: they were friendly and tried to be sanitary with the materials used for both staff and customers. For example, instead of using your finger to touch the ipad to pay, they give you a little touch pointer instead. Never happened before so I was surprised but also appreciated it. Food: we ordered 2 banh mi's to go. ($7.75 each) 1. Lemongrass grilled chicken without the jalapeno 2. Lemongrass grilled pork without jalapeno For both, the mayo was a little too strong for my liking. I also expected lemongrass and grilled flavor but lacked both. The bread wasn't very good, not tasted enough perhaps but I also noticed the carrot shreds were very thick so the whole time I was just eating and munching on carrots like a bunny (lol). If they were shredded a bit thinner, it would be easier to eat. I'm glad I tried but there is another baguette place that I'd rather much eat as the banh mi in general was on the bland side.

The bread the banh mi was served on was extremely delicious; crispy but still light. The person who took our order was very sweet and asked us how our food was. The location of this place is very inconspicuous so you must look for it. The interior was very inviting with many spaces to sit as well as a station where you can add other condiments! Loved this place, definitely recommend. If you love banh mi this place is a must!

I was informed that I could cancel the reservation, with refund, if the change of location was inconvenient. It was, as I was treating my mother (who is 90!) and Hillsboro was too distant and too long of a day for her. I have been reaching out for the past 3 months, attempting to receive a refund, with no result. I contacted the Better Business Bureau for assistance, and they too received no response to their inquiries on my behalf. I feel it is important to share my experience, in case there are others who can benefit from it.

This is an experience I would recommend! My wife and I had never been to any kind of fancy tea…read moreplace but we saw that Portland had a couple of them and some would do the High Tea experience, which includes trying various tea and having a light lunch. My wife had just had her birthday and wanted to see the High Tea experience firsthand. And even better, they had tasting rooms in Beaverton and Hillsboro so we could stay local. We chose the Hillsboro location in the nice block of downtown they have. You have to make a reservation so we did. It wasn't a huge room but all tables were full on an early Saturday afternoon. They sat you at a table with mugs and fine china for a little tea party. The menu was laid out ahead of time and then you could pick the teas to have. I enjoyed them- I am not an expert but I tried a couple and liked the variety. They gave us instructions on when to drink and even a timer for when we should pour. Then the food came out- first a small bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, which was good, then the pastry and sandwich tray. I did get a picture of that. The High Tea experience is listed as "a light meal of scones, pastries, assorted treats, and finger sandwiches." That is what we got. The scones were good and about what you would expect from a nice local bakery. There were some small hors d'oeuvres like a mini quiche with bacon and cheese and then a small pastry with tomato and olive, very tasty. The finger sandwiches for that day were cucumber and cream (a British staple I am told), red pepper and hummus, and then turkey lunchmeat with goat cheese and a cranberry spread- that was my favorite. They also gave a couple treats for the last part, a macaroon and a cupcake, and then a shot glass filled with whipped cream and a strawberry jello/jam type thing. All very good, and not too much to be overwhelming. Overall, it was a delightful experience. We were happy to give it a try. The only drawback I have is that it cost about $65 per person, which I felt a little steep considering what we got. Again all the food was very good and it is meant to be a light lunch, but the portions were all so small that I don't quite feel like it added up... I could just go to a local bakery and get a variety of things with more substance, for less money. We did get to try several teas so that is part of the experience.

There were pictures of beef rolls (seasoned braised beef in a chewy pancake) & I got really excited. We drove quite a bit out there to check it out. They are still labelled as Original Joe's, but had an additional Chinese sign that means "Beef Noodle King." Their menu was a lot shorter than I was expecting and there were no beef rolls in sight. Sad face. We ordered potstickers, beef noodle soup, and the pork rice bowl. They were out of the pork and offered to make wontons in spicy chili oil with soup on the side instead. We agreed. The food was actually pretty good. The beef noodle soup had chewy noodles and really tender fall apart beef. The chili oil wontons were also good. Handmade wontons were swimming in a flavorful sauce! The owner was super sweet and made everything in front of us at the counter. There were a few people in the video poker room that commented on the delicious smells. There were also bubble teas and shaved ice available. I'd definitely go back if I were in the area to get my Taiwanese food fix!

I went to Vivi's for the first time about 10 years ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since…read more Unfortunately, it's pretty far and out of the way from where I live, but every time I pass through the area and am hungry for Vietnamese food, I'm hungry for Vivi's. Over the years, I've brought friends and family here, talking it up enough that they're willing to make the journey with me. I always recommend the tofu vermicelli bowl. The fact that my tofu-skeptical father sang its praises after I made him try it is a testament to its flavor. I still think of it as the gold standard of tofu. I was recently in the area for the first time in 5 or 6 years and decided to go back to Vivi's with my mom. It was the first thing that popped into both of our minds-a real jinks moment. I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to our memory. Vivi's had moved around the corner from their old location-a cute, cozy little cafe-but their new restaurant is more spacious, hopefully to accommodate the flocks of diners that their food merits. I got the tofu vermicelli, which was exactly as I remembered, equally flavorful and generous in portion size for $15. My mom got the papaya salad for $5.50. I previously thought I didn't like papaya-I was mistaken. It was a unique and refreshing dish that I would 100% go back for. Vivi's food tastes fresh and nourishing and at the same time satisfying and rich. We were short on time and were prepared to have to take it to go, but our food was out in 10 minutes. I don't usually write reviews, but after so many great experiences over the years it felt long overdue. A small business that has maintained their quality at reasonable prices over the years deserves to be recognized with a recommendation. Give Vivi's a try!
