Wow!! My stomach is satisfied in a very good way. I am super stuff and happy. My heart thanked me for eating healthier We ordered: Lucky Lac Beef - has a mountain of deliciously seasoned cubed beef on top of fresh vegetables with a side of white rice. If you're on carb or glucose restrictions, just order without the rice. My husband ordered this one and loved it. Airport Chicken - is a wonderfully tender seasoned roasted chicken landed perfectly on top of a roadway of white rice with slippery oil and chopped green onions. The Vietnamese coffee is strong but -oh so tasty!!

I can't wait to go back. I had the spicy noodles with shrimp and it was cooked perfect. The shrimp were big and tasty and they didn't skimp. My friend had the pho and she's obsessed. Highly recommend!! Service was great and friendly too!

Very nice casual restaurant. They serve a variety of asian fusion dishes. I ordered the Luc Lac Beef while my husband ordered their Lemongrass Chili Steak. We liked the flavors of our food and the presentation was nice as well. The beef was sooo tender which we loved! Our plates came with lots of vegetables which made us satisfied. Our only complaint is the rice because it was dry and hard. It seemed like it was day old rice. They also offer wonton chips and sweet and sour sauce while waiting for your meal. The staff here are so nice and friendly. We were served by a sweet lady and was also helped by a man who appreciated our visit.

We arrived at 6pm on a cold Saturday night in December and were greeted promptly upon entering. There was only one other table seated in the restaurant when we arrived so we almost had the place to ourselves. And while we waited for our food the staff was fulfilling several to go orders, which gave me a strong sense that our meal was about to be good. We chose a two-top by the window and ordered soon after: crispy egg rolls, wonton soup, beef pho and the airport chicken. Because we ordered so much food, we decided to move to a 4-top nearby, lol. Service was excellent, outstanding actually. Each member of the staff greeted us and asked us how the food was. And the food was incredible. The crispy egg rolls were just that, crispy with tangy dipping sauce. The airport chicken was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender inside. My husband enjoyed the beef pho while I ate the won ton soup which was super filling because it also has noodles and tons of veggies. Each item had great flavor and was a hearty portion size. By the end of the meal I was totally stuffed but still managed to order a Thai iced tea with boba, to go. :) I'll happily return.

We came out to the area on an errand & took a chance. Jackpot! The best Vietnamese food we have ever had. The papaya salad was super fresh. The wings incredible! Airport Chicken was perfection. The service was outstanding. Nice family. We will make the hour plus drive to go back there.

I'm newer to the Portland area and I am a picky eater when it comes to Vietnamese food, having grown up with Viet food! It's been hard to find one of those good, homey restaurants that have a nice, rich broth and even better appetizers. I was brought out to Chopstix with a friend who really enjoyed this place, and I was a bit skeptical because there isn't any Vietnamese on the menu, however... it exceeded all expectations! First, it really does smell like a cozy Vietnamese restaurant when you come in. The waitress was quiet and kind. David, I assume the owner, was great conversation and we talked a bit about Vietnam and the opening of the restaurant. It just felt like family! The crispy egg rolls were really great! I feel like it's so rare to get jicama but it's so good. They had the perfect amount of meat to veggies ratio. I ordered the beef pho. The steak was well done and the broth was perfectly seasoned--not too sweet or salty. It was perfect for rainy PNW weather. I'll be back to try their other dishes!

This Pad Kee Mao was the best I've ever eaten. It was full of flavor, noodles weren't mushy, everything including chicken and veggies were the perfect texture. I tried pho before at Chopstix and I didn't like it and thought I won't be back but eating this drunken noodle dish changed my mind!

Well, so far, i've only fought. It's one thing from this place. I picked up the yakisoba stir fry. At first I was looking for a place that had traditional chowmein but the only place nearby, other than chopstix is china wok and that place is absolutely awful. The stir fry was amazing. The noodles were moist but not mushy, and the veggies were all super colorful, no wilting, whatsoever and the chicken was mostly all white chicken breast meat. On top of that, the saltiness was perfect and not overdone, like most chinese food places. My only thing is that if you are craving absolutely traditional chinese food, I don't know how much this place will cost calm that craving because it is more like a fusion restaurant. That being said, I am glad I took a risk and got the Yakisoba stir fry. I will absolutely try this place again. Service was also top notch and friendly , Unlike china wok..

Ya know, it's weird that this has been in my drafts for forever. But I like this place. I like that…read morethey were down with the açaí bowl situation before it was cool (or at least, before it became de rigeur and/or spread to the damp and drippy PNW). I started chowing down on smoothie bowls in sunny southern California and the majorest of major metros like Manhattan, and it seems like it took forever for the "trend" to spread to our rainy neck of the woods. One could certainly get wheatgrass shots every which where, but smoothie bowls, not so much. ANYWAY, Carioca Bowls was leading the vanguard of delish and genuine açaí bowls in PDX long before it was an expected food variety in all hippie-ish towns in the US. Their bowls meet my exacting ingredient standards: Now that smoothie bowls have gone mainstream, many are just lightly disguised dessert with "health food" marketing: Hidden sweeteners and grody additives pushed on the unsuspecting hoi polloi ruin it for people who don't do their homework. But not Carioca Bowls: You can ACTUALLY get an unsweetened açaí bowl if that's your jam (it's mine: If I wanted dessert, I'd get a cupcake), and they don't drown the top in honey (honey has its place, and that place is far away from me), and drink in the extremely second-wave granola vibes while you're at it. Third-wave hippie food, like third-wave coffee shops, have suffered a loss of soul: Minimalist design, LED lighting, and cookie-cutter staff with vaseline smiles beckoning "welcome in!" with vacant looks in their eyes have sapped a lot of the joy from the spaces serving hippie food and matcha tea. Carioca Bowls remains a comfortingly messy, quirky callback to sincerity: Murals, houseplants, low lighting, a big messy garden-y space outdoors for sitting and chowing, organic unfussy aesthetics that make the whole scene just feel welcoming and comfy. You can eat your bowl here and not feel like you're a nuisance to the staff, or like there's a glaring spotlight on you (unlike SOME smoothie/juice/bowl places I could mention). Nary a whiff of extruded white plastic ANYWHERE in this place. It makes me feel at home, the way a wheatgrass-sniffin', long-hair-havin', big-hug-givin' hippie should feel. When I walk through the door, I feel RELAXED, ya know what I mean? Anyway, give it a try - this isn't my 'hood but I will still occasionally make a pilgrimage just to get a bowl and drink in the vibes. So if I were writing a Michelin guide (buy those tires!) I suppose I'd give this at least a star, as it's worth a special trip (IF you're into what I've described here - it's highly specific, but it's MY vibe). Anyway, long live Carioca Bowls!
