On chilly and rainy days, there's not much that's more pho-nomenal than a bowl of pho. I had just finished touring Pacific University and noticed that Pho Viet was a 6-7 min walk from campus. The restaurant was quiet and not busy. I got the seafood pho, which was tasty and filling. I didn't know until after I posted my pic that there was a separate pho with egg noodles. Usually egg noodles is the default in my experience but the rice noodles were good too! Price was $17.50, which was a little more than I paid in MN but worth the price as the portion is generous. Service was friendly. Easy to pay with cash or card at the counter. If I go to Pacific, I have a feeling I may be a regular. ;) read more

If you're an Uber eats or DoorDash driver - HAVE SOME RESPECT. It's so rude to the staff and guests in the restaurant to storm in and slam on the bell on the front counter just to shove your phone in their faces demanding a to-go order. Absolutely rude and unprofessional. Flavorful food and the restaurant is decorated nicely, it's also very clean and the food service was quick! I love a good pho on a cold day and theirs was great. I usually get the combo with all meats but there's sometimes too much tripe in it, so from now on I only order the meatballs and flank beef. The fried rice is also amazing, not excessively oily, no massive shrimps that need the shell and head removed, and everything was a perfect texture. Very disappointing. First off, we used to come here for Vietnamese food very often before covid. It's our go-to place if we craved for Vietnamese food. Environment: still the same as before. I haven't been in a few years but the set up is the same. Lots of booths and tables for you to sit. Staff: they were okay, they got nicer and thanked us as we realized the price of the food was different on the menu than on the computer/device. They quickly changed the prices of them all and was grateful that we told them. Food [take out]: 1. B18: Vermicelli Combination bowl ($14.95). It had many things, marinated grilled pork, tiger shrimp skewer and crispy egg roll. The eggrolls, I had no idea what was inside it. It tasted weird and not fresh, like they fried it again because it's been there for days. The meat inside was very dark, I really wondered if my stomach would be able to handle the unknown stuff. The shrimp was not fresh, slightly mushy. The pork was the most okay part, not too hard. However, this was sad compared to other vermicelli bowls I've had before. 2. C24: Combination rice plate ($19.95) --menu said $17.95. It had grilled pork chop, dried pork skin, egg casserole, fried egg, and a piece of Vietnamese egg meatloaf. They were sadly all bad and very disappointed. Everything felt old or fried again. Everything was hard and burnt. The pork was so hard, when I was cutting it, I shook the whole table. The shrimp were not fresh, it had a slightly mushy feeling. The egg casserole was hard and too dense. The fried egg had left over oil flavor/taste, pork skin was so dry (I wonder if it was left out for a few days), egg casserole was so hard. This is our go to pho place, this and Pho Oregon in Beaverton. I always get the spicy beef (bun bo hue) , it's my favourite. Very flavorful, rich broth. It has the pork shank too, most places only give slices of the shank not the whole piece with bone and skin which I love. My son always gets the SuperBowl, it's so big. I rarely finish mine. It's never too busy when we go. They usually only have one person on the floor but the wait is never too long. read more

But the place definitely looks cleaner and better than you expect walking in. All downhill from there though. Service was very erratic. Living in forest grove, it is hard to get pho anywhere. Pho viet was my go to for the past four years of college. The portions are very big, they only have a large and XL bowl! Broth is very heartwarming and deep, it doesn't just taste salty. I would say a typical Vietnamese pho place that is a little more organized than most. I usually either get pho tai, pho ga, or bún thịt nướng when I come here. The bún thịt nướng is huge and the meat is marinated and grilled so well. I've been trying to find a good place near me that has good bun bo hue, and alas, I think I've found it. Pho Viet is a cute quaint place in Hillsboro. I was craving something warm to help against the cold weather. It wasn't particularly busy when I was there, so I didn't have to wait to be seated. The bun bo hue was very delicious. Tasted very authentic, just like how my mom would make back home. The broth and its spice level was perfect, although there's nothing wrong with it being a little spicier ;) To my surprise they also had cha lua (Vietnamese ham) in it which was quite yummy. The only thing missing that would've made the meal absolutely perfect would be pork blood... The prices are reasonable and worth it. They are generous in the amount of meat they give in their bun bo hue. I will definitely come again if I'm ever in the mood for some bun bo hue.
