Initially wanted to try Beaver Tacos ( ) but opted for cafe…read more I really had high hope for this place, fun little restaurant with some funny shirts for sale and cute decor. They were little busy but not too much. Stood in front waiting as one waitress looked at us, didn't say a word and kept on doing what she was doing. Another gal came by and said she will be right with us. Eventually got sat and got to order food. Menu had funny names and sounded pretty good. I didn't know what to order so I went safe route and ordered fried fish (cod) with tater tots. Also ordered the Branding iron cheese steak and The barnyard burger. Food took little longer than expected but they did have a large table before us Food finally arrives and well, what can I say, had one of those should have would have could have but didn't moment. My 3 fish pieces and tator tots looked like straight out of the frozen box from the grocery store. Now I did not expect them to be fresh catch off the ocean and hand battered but I just could not help the presentation and feeling I got. The sandwich looked OK and cheese was not quite melted. Hamburger looked good though. Fish tasted like it looked, although they were crispy right off the fryer so that was a plus. Tator tots and French fries were alright, at least crispy. Sandwich was another disappointment. The sandwich bread was nice and soft but I could not get over the cheap grocery store deli meat roast beef taste for the beef. I did not try the burger but did see the yoke ooze out as first bite was taken. I was told burger was pretty good. Over all service was pretty good but food just was very disappointing. I wanted to like this place but maybe I just had too much expectation.

We're ready to conquer the trails after Mandi very generously offered all of our students and chaperones pancake breakfast. We probably wouldn't be able to keep doing these sorts of trips without support from our community. You can bet El Bambi has a customer for life in me, but I must tell you, the food was amazing. If you're driving through Beaver this summer and need a meal- I highly suggest you stop by and meet this amazing group of superheroes.

While there, I didn't have high hopes of finding quality coffee in this beautiful but tiny one traffic light town. I was wrong. Way wrong. As a coffee snob, I can fully recommend this gem of a mom and pop business. The menu is great. The food menu is great. The staff is awesome. And my high school friend from California lives in beaver and knows the owner. Small world. Go. Get some real coffee.

I mainly come here for the Menudo (the girl who I was just talking about will immediately know who I am LoL) but yes, the menudo. My homegirl told me about menudo, and now Valerie's is my plug for that. It's flavored to my liking, which I deeply appreciate. Do understand that sometimes you may get more bones and cartilage than the cow honeycomb tripe. So ask if you could not get that bones and stuff? I haven't, but I don't think it'll hurt to ask. I like the crew that makes my menudo, so I accept it no matter what I get. If you are drunk off your behind, then baby, come on down to Valerie's for some pretty okay food. I'm not a huge fan of tacos and such, but they're menudo is *chefs kiss* in my opinion. So I can only give my opinion on that. As well as the service. Don't forget to tip them! We decided to pop in because we just had just got off the road after 16 hours driving and 2 hours of sleep the night before and we had just checked into a hotel near by. We wanted some food to go, and had an off-putting experience with the woman who greeted us. We had a different server who was very sweet, the chili was pretty ok but cold. We ordered a burger for my boyfriend and a salad for myself both to-go. After driving for 16 hours we just wanted to go eat lay down. My salad was over all ok, but it was a huge salad and only had a drizzle of dressing on it, leaving it mainly dry. Ok, not the end of the world. One of the tomatoes was half rotten but I picked it out and inspected the others which appeared ok-mistakes happen. Not appealing, but not the bringer of the apocalypse. My boyfriend took the top bun off his burger to arrange his toppings (forgot to add tomato but oh well, worse things can happen) he peeled off the lettuce on his burger, held it up and said OH MY GOD. I looked over and it was rotten and brown. Literally PAST the wilty stage, it was rotten. We called to let them know about it and they said "oh great that will give you a reason to get back here and pay the rest of your bill". They said we were $4 off, I literally had over a 60 dollars in mixed change out between the 2 of us combining money and figuring out a tip, why would I not only stiff my server on a tip, (I Always tip about 20%) but also pay $4 LESS THAN THE ACTUAL BILL? We went back and fourth about whether or not we wanted to tip 20% on takeout, but she was nice so I decided to do it. Which should have been 42 w/$6tip. I put the cash down and put the remaining bills I had taken out back into my wallet. I'm not a teenager trying to dine and dash, I had plenty of money in my wallet. I'm a 30 year old woman and former waitress and always treat my servers well- even in instances where the kitchen messes the food up I always tip well with very few exceptions. I would never intentionally pay less than what I owe AND completely stiff my server. I was checking my email before we left; when I got up the money was gone which I'm fairly certain she had picked up a few minutes before we left and nothing was said. To be fair, I do realize we both had been driving for 16 hours today and it's not completely beyond the realm of possibility that perhaps I got mixed up doing the math with combined cash. I'm not saying it's completely impossible although I'm beyond surprised by the thought of doing that. The problem is not the mention of it. The problem is that when we he called to calmly let them know about the ROTTEN food they could have: apologized, offer to fix it, make us aware of the $4 discrepancy and ask to settle up when we came in to have our food fixed (OR ANY VARIATION OF THAT)I would have had no problem. The mere idea that I could have accidentally shorted on my bill is mortifying to begin with and I've played it over and over in my head and the only explanation I can think of is running on no sleep and making a stupid math error. But they were extremely rude and accusatory and offered no explanation for the literal ROTTEN FOOD we were served. Why on gods green earth would someone who KNOWINGLY shorted their waitress and left no tip EVER CALL the restaurant to take issu about the food!? At that point we were pissed about the nastiness of situation along with the fact that we were served food that could literally make us sick. My boyfriend is the slowest person to anger....on the planet. I have never seen him upset over service before. He told them "Well I guess we'll call it even on the rotten food then" and hung up. I'm embarrassed at the mere NOTION of being short, but more so about the way I was treated like a dirtbag because if we were short were completely oblivious! We would have been MORE THAN HAPPY to pay the remaining $4 + intended original tip and make it right in exchange for a BURGER FREE FROM ROTTING, SLIMEY PRODUCE. And after that exchange I'd say it was fair of us to leave it at that.... and they are lucky that we didn't ask for the remaining six dollar value of the burger in addition. It was not edible and we had to give it to the dog, going to bed hungry AND exhausted. I have never left a bad review for any business or restaurant before. I have never shorted and I have never even seen my boyfriend send food back or complain. I cannot stress enough this enough. read more

I have stopped here many times before as this is a great stopping point when I go visit family and I have enjoyed the food. So imagine my great disappoint at the treatment we received by the waitress. We were traveling up to Salt Lake as our sister had just suddenly passed away. 11 miles south of Beaver we had a flat tire. It took 2 hours for the tow truck to get us to the Chervon Station (AAA couldn't find us and so couldn't tell them where we were). After standing outside the car in 35 degree weather for 2 hours we were cold, hungry, tired and emotionally spent due to the reason for our trip. I was encouraged that at least we could sit and get a warm meal at the Timberline. However, after we were seated it took the waitress 20 minutes to get us water. We noticed a group of girls her age got immediate service. And I also noticed that the waitress made sure she walked behind us instead of in front of us as she knew we were trying to get her attention. By the time she came to take our order we had found out the new tire was on the car and it would be ready in a few minutes. We asked her if the french dip was a faster menu item to order as we still had a long way to go on our journey and didn't want to order something that would take a long time to prepare. We were encountered with a rude and angry "this is not a fast food restaurant, nothing on the menu is fast. If you want fast you go somewhere else". At which point we got up to leave and I have never seen such a hateful look on someone in the customer service business as she gave us. No food is good enough to deserve that treatment. So we will not be back. And yes, all my family at the funeral heard the story and they all drive that corridor many times a year and they won't be there either. read more

This restaurant had been highly miss labeled! It is for sure a 5 star establishment. Family owned and operated.... I always feel that it is when dining here. The menu is superb to say the least. It provides many different options to please. I make it a clear point to eat here often. I also, make sure to let everyone know about this diamond in the rough. The owner and is son have done an amazing job building this business. The son I have heard is an executive chef and from my understanding one of the best in the state of Utah. Thursday nights are a thrill because he works the night shift that particular day. His soups are amazing .... I would say his shrimp chowder is award winning in my opinion it is featured on Fridays. The salmon dinner is to die for, the salmon is fresh- weird you might think for a small town in the middle of no where but it's true! If you love prime rib you have got to stop by on Friday nights it is massive and delicious to say the least. I noticed there were complaints on the salad bar.... At times it gets a little rough around the edges but if you tell your waitress it is quickly addressed... This place is eager to please! I cannot say enough good things about this place! Poor experiences people have had, are a misfortune...because I know that this place is the bomb! The lunch menu is awesome, the blackened chicken salad rocks and the sandwiches are yummy! I was recently told about this website and have fell in love with it. I love traveling and happen to travel quite often which in turn means I eat at a lot of different places. I was driving from Cali to Colorado and stopped in Beaver. I read the yelp reviews on different places to eat in Beaver and pick the Timberline. Can I tell you that this place is awesome!! I ate dinner and enjoyed the Spinach Chicken Farfalle, I don't know who that skater was that said that the Italian bread wasn't good, but I thought it was great! I loved how it sopped up the creamy sauce from the pasta....DELICIOUS! I also enjoyed a piece of that Carmel Pecan Cheesecake--holy Moly-so glad I listen to that recommendation. Since, I enjoyed myself so thoroughly that night I had no question of returning in the morning. The morning was no let down, my friend and I shared a sweet roll to kick of the meal off and it was wonderful, light, fluffy and large enough for two. I then enjoyed the Timberline omelet, this omelet was huge, I couldn't eat all of it and felt guilty for leaving some behind. Overall, I loved my two visit to this cute little place, I will stop each time I am stopping through....I have found what I like in this town and don't feel the need to test the other places out. While we were charging our Tesla, we decided to walk over to have dinner. I walked in. Waited for a hostess to greet me. Someone walked passed me, approached the counter to ring up a to go. In the meantime, I was patiently waiting while another young lady passed me & started talking to the lady at the counter. I overheard her say, "They we're just standing there when I walked up" After 10 minutes of waiting, the young lady grabbed to menus, walked us to a booth, literally threw the menus on the table and walked away. The 10 minutes we were waiting to be acknowledged, we watched at least 4 people walk passed our table. We finally got up to leave, I told one of the servers we were blatantly ignored and she acted as if she didn't know we were sitting there. As I left, I spoke to the young lady & told her how we were ignored & not happy with the way she treated us and she apologized (a little too late) I rarely assume that I am ever discriminated against but tonight, I felt just that. We ended up at McDonalds, who welcomed & greeted us warmly. From your previous reviews, your food may be delicious but you're lacking customer service, especially to those of color. I don't need special treatment, I just need to be acknowledged. read more

We have stopped here a few times going to and from St. George. I didn't think it was anything special until my wife got this shrimp meal. It is very good! I highly suggest it. They are slow sometimes and it takes a while to get your food. We like to eat here. read more

The owners have done a great job creating a country-themed café with all their decor. Today we were driving back from St. George after watching our favorite musical, Les Miserable at Tuacahn. My mother-in-law is also huge fan of Sister Wives and showed her where Meri Brown's former Lizzie's Heritage Inn is located - I was egging her on to ring the doorbell to say hi! On our way back home, we decided to stop by Dede's for some snacks. We ordered a cinnamon roll, cherry pie, blueberry pie a la mode to eat at the restaurant and a pumpkin cheese muffin strudel to go. The cinnamon roll was served warm with cream cheese frosting and powdered sugar on top. I was disappointed with how dry outsides of the roll was. However the more you dig into the center, the more moist the center became. I wanted a softer center with more cinnamon flavor. The frosting was too sweet and needed more cream cheese flavor. My suggestion is to use heavy cream before they bake the rolls to give it that super soft roll. I really like this blueberry pie filling! It was crushed blueberries but had nice chunks of blueberries. The top and bottom of the crust was not great but not bad. If I could get the crusts from Vejo Pies with this filling, it would be phenomenal! I would definitely stop by next time to get a piece of this pie. I never grow to try the muffin because I already had too much sugar for the day. My daughter will let me know how this tastes. If you stop by Parowan, it is a really quaint city and since it's almost Halloween, the city has decorated Main Street with bales of Halloween themed bales. It was a great way to top off our little weekend retreat!

Compared with other breakfast places, I can easily find cinnamon rolls that taste much better than this. I'm surprised they advertise these as the "best cinnamon rolls," because my experience was completely the opposite. This was a real disappointment. I guess this is a reminder that you really can't always trust the advertising.
