Everything we've had here is good. The burgers, sandwiches, the pie, all of it delicious. We often stop here driving across Utah.

I wasn't hungry but thought I would go in and help a local eatery out since you can sit for a bit. They have fish and chips to burgers to really nice food that strikes the pallet then comes back w a smooth roll. Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would taste so good. Don't think it's because I haven't been in many sit downs lately, it was just a great meal that was prime to taste and cooked well. Something like you would pay $50 for in a large city. I don't take this route often but this restaurant is going on my book for as many comebacks as I can. The way the sauce rolls off the tongue was fantastic! Hints of shallot and the salty cream with the last roll of butter as it slowly caresses throughout the mouth. Told the waitress I could take a cup of that to go and just drink it. Stopped in on our way to a long weekend. The service was great the food was ok. The kind you would expect from a gas stop along the highway. Got the chili burger with fries and it wasn't bad. Not the best but I wasn't expecting that. It was just a burger with chili on top and a side of fries. Tasted like caned chili but again wasn't expecting more. Really nice place and the food is generally good. We got the following items: Filet of Salmon Hot Roast Beef Sandwich Honey Dipped Chicken Stacked Panini Kids Grilled Cheese Kids pasta All but the Stacked Panini were exceptionally good. We had to send the Panini back to have it cooked more. It was very chewy. Almost like the inside of the chicken was not cooked all the way through. On second try, it wasn't much better. So we feel the chicken breast was freezer burned. That's what it felt like. Much of that meal was wasted and uneaten. Upon seeing that, it would be good customer service to not charge for that dish, but we were charged and did not want to make a big deal of it. Their kids menu is severely lacking and there are really no healthy choices there if you wanted to add veggies. They would not allow you to substitute veggies for fries. The rest of the dishes we had were great and the flavors were very homemade. The waitress Lydia I believe her name was, was a bit pushy and sarcastic. I'm a New Yorker. I get sarcasm, but it seemed off key in this instance. I would go back again, but weary of the experience so I'll be cautious. read more

The Tesla chargers here are slow, so we decided to check out the restaurant here, and we're glad we did! We both ordered the Turkey, Bacon and Avocado sandwich. It comes with focaccia but I got the ciabatta instead. Both breads are made fresh daily. You can't go wrong either way. Bacon was perfectly crispy, turkey breast was good, fries were were crispy on the outside soft on the inside, avocado was chopped up and spread on the bread. The servers were super friendly and the whole place was nice and clean. Will definitely eat here again the next week time we're passing through to visit the national parks. Everyone was wearing their masks and people were seated away from each other. read more

We've dined at Timberline several times on our trips between Salt Lake City and Cedar City. We've never once been disappointed with the food or the service. During our last stop my husband ordered the fish sandwich and I had the French dip sandwich. Both were excellent! Both the fish and roast beef were generous sized portions. We drove thru town and picked up the salmon dinner to go - It was delicious! The mashed potatoes were great, the veggies were perfectly cooked, and the salmon was awesome. Waited 10 minutes Seated 20 minutes No one ever acknowledged us at the booth. 4 separate tables were seated after us. The last couple got waited on 2 minutes after being seated. We got up and walked out . I understand your busy but 5 of you waitresses saw us. Guess business is good for customers to walk out. Ordered 2 10 ounce ribeye and got a 5 ounce ribeye with 5 ounces of fat. We ordered a soup and salad, one for each steak as a side, and received it after the bill was given to us. We had to ask for them for togo. Once they were given , they were given without utensils. We questioned our waitress about our steaks and she said we'll get a discount. When we went up to pay not a dollar discount was given. We told them we weren't given utensils for our sides and they said sorry but still didn't give us utensils. It wasn't busy and i believe our waitress only had two tables. Horrible experience. read more

If you're traveling through Utah, this is the place to stop for a great bite of food! Nothing fancy, but great food and better service. We stopped on the way home from SLC and glad we did. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Sandwich, my daughters ordered burgers. As soon as the steak and burgers were cooked, they were immediately brought out to us. Some of the fastest service I've ever had. My sandwich was great, Steak, lots of avocado, tomato, lettuce and onion on ciabatta bread. My girls said the burgers were awesome, and the sides of fries were great. Next drive through Beaver, we will make it a point to stop here again. By the way, the desserts in the dessert case when you walk in, looked awesome. May have to try one on our next visit! read more

Family run and fantastically good home cooking comfort food. Pot roast is rich and with puffy yeast rolls to sop up the gravy you will be as close to heaven as you will get on this planet. Check my profile of ratings and you will notice that I do not lightly give out 5 stars. The pies are home made and are great., along with the sweet rolls. I truly question the two negative reviews as out of character. counter. I have never had the salad on the pot roast, but maybe they changed the menu...will check it out tonight and report back. Later: just returned from dinner and our waitress, Donna, was the one who remembered the incident with Faye W. a little over two weeks ago. Both my wife and I ordered the pot roast, as we have done previously, not remembering anything about the "salad" on top. Well, we received the pot roasts and they were GARNISHED with onion slices (mine had 11, my wife 9) and tomato wedges (I had two, wife three) that were lightly tosted in vinegarette dressing. We had no memory of this garnish because it was so inconsequential to the dish. And the menu read au jus (not the "traditional" thick brown gravy that one might expect), two medium red pototoes and a hunk of beef that fell apart into julianne strips of super rich and moist meat and "onion and tomato vinegarette salad." Salad might be a stretch unless you consider the British "salad" which is a garnish on most dinner and lunch plates. The restaurant thought that the incident went very well with everyone being nice. Faye W. was offered something else, but when she found out that she would have to pay for what she ordered, opted to limit her experience to the pot roast. The restaurant will not charge for items ordered that are not per the menu, but not liking something ordered is not a reason to avoid paying for it. Apparently Faye W. left threatening widest disemination of her rip off and misleading menu description on Facebook and other things the staff did not remember. She was good on her word to rip the Timberline on Yelp*. That said, look for consistency in reviews on Yelp*. There was one one star on Dave's BBQ in Oakdale, CA which was the only review less than five stars. The rater was angry that she called twice and Dave's never answered the phone, so she posted that, as a restaurant review with one star. As to Trevor F's salad bar comments I am surprised because he is an experienced Yelper. On my investigation, the salad bar is better than average, with four dressings plus EVO and wine vinegar and we counted 19 containers of stuff and one large bowl of mixed greens. There were also nuts and crackers and some other things. Well, must be expectations and just what can you do with a salad bar except stock a bunch of greens and toppings? Well, maybe some exotic dressings? Could be Trevor F. was having a bad day, but everyone has opinions, which is the value of a site like Yelp*. Let's watch how the salad bar rates in further reviews. We make a point of stopping in Beaver, UT simply to dine at the Timberline and most times spend the night. The founder is now the owner and his son is now the executive chef. This is a family operation and a good one. It is a good day drive from Corvallis, Montana and a shorter drive from San Diego. If you are even close, treat yourself. read more

We made a pit stop in Beaver, Utah on the way into Las Vegas. From our initial scan of their menu, we were pretty sure we weren't going to have anything to eat but after explaining what being vegan was about we found an item on their menu that actually turned out to be somewhat decent. First of all, let me just clarify this is a meat and potatoes kind of place. Denny's x10 if you will. If you want spaghetti with meatballs in a very large bowl...this is your place. If you want a classically curated salad bar...look elsewhere. If you're vegan your only option will be the Taco Salad minus the meat. The salad is a little plain and somewhat dry, probably because it lacks ground beef, but tinkering with it by adding a little oil and vinegar and some hot sauce it became pretty good. I think if they can figure out a way to add a little moisture into a dry taco salad served in this variation, they might have themselves a winner here. Either way, know that if you're on a road trip across the country, your options as a vegan in this stretch is pretty limited. Either wait until you reach Nevada or stock up on snacks before you leave Salt Lake City, but if you really need to eat the Timberline Inn isn't a bad choice to have. read more

I ordered tea, fish and chips and dessert (cinnamon roll) First I'll talk about the service. It was good. There was a lady that was the greeter/seater and also the waitress. She was multitasking because it's just too slow for more than one person. She was polite and presentable. No complaints there. The tea was brewed and not that instant tea from syrup. It's only made in the mornings so it wasn't "fresh" but still good tea and she even made me some to go for the road. (I'm a truck driver) The fish and chips. The fish was fresh and breading was minimal. Not to greasy. The fries were just okay. Coleslaw was fresh and homemade it seemed like. The cinnamon roll was delicious. My whole meal was 16.52. On a 2.5 wk road trip through the southwest, the hands down best meal I had (including overpriced Vegas) was in Beaver, UT at the Timberline. It was a takeout order, ready in 15 minutes: Salmon--remarkably NOT overcooked, and juicy, with buttery mashed potatoes (with bits of potato skin. yes!), and a bit of grilled asparagus. Also had the mushroom and artichoke heart appetizer--very nice with fresh mushrooms, not canned. This appetizer with soup could be a very good meal in itself. Very generous portions, very reasonable prices. The dining room is purely utilitarian, but that belies the quality of the offerings. Besides "atmosphere" adds to the price.
