I got in late, so coffee was out, the hot chocolate and super helpful wait staff got me lined out on a place to stay and the energy to get there. Friendly service, quaint diner styling. I had planned this stop for lunch along my travels through NV and into UT. What a perfect stop. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was super clean, and the food outstanding. A shout out for keeping flies at bay. I didn't see a single one during my visit. The triple decker was a feast and the fries that I asked for extra crispy, were perfect. The food was cooked perfectly! Ordered a breakfast burrito and my husband ordered the chicken steak and egg breakfast. The cook was very sweet and he did wonderful. The server who we had in the morning was awful. She was so rude. Never came back to serve us just stayed on her phone and talking to other workers. I had high hopes for this place considering the yelp rating. Food was on par for a small diner but the server was disengaged. I ordered the chicken fried steak w/eggs, a cup of coffee and asked for a glass of milk with the breakfast. Never received the glass of milk nor a coffee refill and my bill was incorrect. Me and my boyfriend came in for a milkshake early in the evening and they said they were out of ice cream so we ordered just two hot chocolate's and an ice water instead. The waitress asked if we wanted whip cream and we said yes. A couple minutes later, she brought out two hot chocolate's with no whip and no ice water. We waited patiently for a couple minutes in case she went to go grab it but she continued her dishes and forgot the simple order. I had to go remind her about what was missing. DO NOT GET THE WAFFLES!!! This place is fine, with a clean setting and pretty good diner food, but the waffles look spectacular on the menu however not so good in real life. The waffles in the picture have a total of 132 mini squares for syrup and butter to deliciously melt and ooze and lock their way into (yes I counted). The actual waffles have 16, and are what you'd expect from a home waffle maker for $40 from cuisinart or from a complimentary breakfast setup from econo lodge or a Super 8. In fact, I saw the waffle machines right up front and they are exactly what they offer at an econo lodge or Super 8. The waffles in the picture look like Waffle House waffles, and it is 100% false advertising. Then, when you say something to staff they surpassingly say they look like the photo and don't give you any money back. I even heard one of the members call me an asshole for saying something so blatantly obvious. Felt like the twilight zone to be honest nobody agreeing with me about the photo difference and still charging me my extra $2 for 2 waffles I had 2 bites of... couldn't believe no one agreed with me the pictures looked like Waffle House and the actual was a hotel waffle with very little flavor. Stopped here about 1pm on Easter Sunday. There were not many choice in Milford, UT in the first place but probably even less on Easter. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was basic, nothing fancy but it seemed fresh and arrived in a timely fashion. The diner is open 24 hours and may be connected with the Oak Tree Motel next door? This retro-styled diner is part of the same property as the adjacent Oak Tree Inn, and since we were staying at said Inn, dad and I ended up having dinner and breakfast at Penny's. Service was indifferent, and both the night and morning cooks seemed a bit sketchy, but the food was cheap, filling, and didn't make us sick, so I was satisfied with this experience at a diner in the middle of nowhere. To give you some idea of the delights that await should you be passing through Milford on an empty stomach, for dinner I had the club sandwich, while dad had the chicken fried steak and baked potato. For breakfast, he had eggs & ham, and I had french toast and sausage. (Please don't tell our health insurance companies!) I honestly don't know how to rate this. We're passing by on a bike trip and we took a day off in Milford. Because there isn't much to do I went there 3 times in two days. (Once for dinner, once for coffee and again for a milkshake). The late night server was super nice to us and the morning gals were awesome as well. However when I went in mid day the staff was so rude, they looked more miserable than anyone on earth. They acted the same way the night before when we asked for directions. I ordered my milkshake after she muttered the flavors while walking away from me. It came out quick, but it was honestly half a cup of milkshake and the rest was whipped cream! I paid 5 bucks for half a cup of whipped cream! At the other Penny's I went to my milkshake was huge! So I give it a three. I would have given it a 5 if it wasn't for that waitress' awful attitude toward me. read more

Adjacent to the Oak Tree Inn where we stayed overnight, Penny's was a natural choice and nice they are open 24-hours. Somewhat removed from the rest of the small town where there is not a lot of dining options anyway. We had a late dinner and then breakfast the next morning. Typical diner fare but was freshly made and good quality. Club sandwich had plenty of turkey, ham and bacon. Side salad was leafy greens mix, not the expected boring iceberg. Breakfast was equally as good, prepared as ordered. Only minor complaint was service could have been more attentive, especially when refilling drinks. Utah is one of the most beautiful States in the US, and between cities there are large spaces of wild gorgeous country, places where you could easily travel an hour without seeing any restaurants or gas stations. Fill up when you can. Penny's Dinner is located in a small town, but it is big on great food, great service, and economical prices. We look forward to passing through Milford, Utah so we can eat great old fashion American comfort food. Great small diner with great diner food. I had the full stack pancakes and the cinnamon roll. Delicious. I did see that they took the cinnamon roll from a plastic wrap and put it in the microwave. I didn't bother me and tasted great, but not everything is cool with microwaved rolls when the menu said "fresh." I was on my way to Zion National Park and stopped here for breakfast. The server was friendly and attentive. They have free wifi that's strong; I was checking my email and Facebook with good service while I waited for food. They are also open 24/7! Turning my trusty steed, the Silver Streak, toward Milford, we speed down the back highway and within an hour found Penny's, with its 50s dinner theme. A 24 hour American diner in Milford UT on UT-21. Stopped in here after driving most of the day with the family. Service was a little slow. Food was average. Greatful they are open for 24 hours though. There is not another restaurant for many miles near this area open for 24 hours. We stopped to catch dinner after a baseball game and no part of the experience was good! Waited one hour for a burger that was nothing but a piece of meat on a dry bun no fixens at all. The buns were still cold from being pulled out of the fridge. they were not toasted at all. The Philly cheese steak had raw onions and green peppers. Who doesn't sauté them in the sandwich? We also found hair. It was disgusting!!! I wouldn't give it one star except I had to! We had to stop in Beaver at the Dairy Queen to get something good to eat and get rid of the lingering aftertaste.
