Just getting off a 3 day camping and off road trip in the Paiyute region in Utah and being one of the few places (non-chain) open on a Monday we stopped in for lunch. Boy, am I glad that we did. This charming pizza joint was atypical. There was a map on the wall with nearly every country being represented as having visited. Pretty small place that had a small gift shop, a few games for children including a brio train set and some gum ball machines. They did a lot with a small space. Being the only car in the parking lot we had a brief thought of hesitation until we walked in and smelled the aroma of what could only be great pizza. We were greeted promptly by Catherine who had the kindest of smiles. We ordered a pepperoni calzone, a 16" pepperoni pizza, a meat lovers calzone and the cinnamon-twists all with a side of ranch. This place had a nice little spice bar with hot sauce, grated Parmesan, basil, crushed red pepper, and several other options to top off your pizza. I had the pepperoni pizza bomb (calzone.) Just 5.50!!!! it came out hot and fresh delivered to our table by Catherine. It had sauce on the inside; the dough was perfection with that red pizza oil that dripped down my fingers. The quality, price, and service absolutely exceeded expectations. The meat lovers calzone and thin crust pepperoni were equally good. We thought that the server had forgotten the cinnamon twists until we finished eating and Catherine brought out the hot dessert covered in homemade caramel sauce and a huge cup of fresh made thick whipped cream. Absolute heavenly taste. So, if you're passing through Beaver, Utah and are hankering for some good pizza stop in Craigo's An excellent choice and there's plenty of entertainment for the kids while you wait. This is essentially an upscale Pizza Hut. It was a Pizza Hut or summer other fast food place and was purchased and converted to this family Pizza place. The staff is friendly and helpful. The interior is very nice. Just think County Barrel meets Italian. Bring a former award winning chef, food is everything. The pizza is ok. It lacks enough sauce so it comes across a little dry. The toppings were generous. I had ordered the Meat Livers and it had a good amount of meats on it. The biggest issue I have with this place was their crust. It's tough. Really tough. In fact, my jaw was tired from chewing so hard. So, one of two things are happening here. Either you are using 100% Semolina Flour or you are not resting your dough long enough. My recommendation is look toward a blend of 80% Semolina and 20% AP Flour by weight. By doing this you're reducing your gluten levels which will make a more supple dough. Then the issue of resting the dough overnight is reduced. But, you souls be making the dough fresh the night before. One last thing I would recommend is brushing your crusts with garlic butter. Once it's cooked out of the oven. I've had better. I've had worse. And considering you are charging over $20 for a large, the crust will make or break you as a pizza joint. read more

This place is the perfect stop on your way to southern Utah! It's definitely slower service, but it's worth the wait. After coming here a few times, I've learned to order about 30-45 minutes ahead and the order is typically done by the time you arrive. I believe you can order online but I've always called in my orders. They have a drive through as well, but I'm not sure what it's for as this is definitely not a fast food restaurant. We made the mistake of going through the drive through the first time we came, and ended up waiting a very very long time and ended up coming inside. The pizza bombs are aptly named, because they are THE BOMB! They're so freaking good. I always get the veggie pizza bomb - it has artichokes, mushrooms, peppers, Alfredo sauce. SO delicious and flavorful. I can hardly wait for it to cool down enough to eat it because it's so delicious. We also got the bread sticks this time and added cheese to them - we thought we would have leftovers but we scarfed them down so quickly. The interior isn't anything to write home about, but the food is incredible and worth the wait. The staff is also so kind and friendly! We love visiting Beaver to fish. On our last night there we decided to try Craigo's as it was listed as having the best pizza. They weren't wrong!!! We chose half meat lovers/half veggie with Craigo's wings. I am not kidding when I say this is by far the best pizza I've ever had! Craigo's was an institution when it was in Rexburg, ID back in the 90's. There isn't a single student that attended Ricks College that didn't eat at Craigo's and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, food, and live music. And the Breadsticks with Cheese were unbelievably awesome! No longer in Rexburg, the original Craigo's has reopened in Beaver, UT with the same great food and friendly staff. If you're traveling I-15 definitely stop in and try a Pizza Bomb or breadsticks. Call ahead to get the order started so it's ready when you arrive. I don't usually leave food reviews, but my son, my best friend, and I were passing through Beaver on a road trip and looked up food near us. This place stood out. I should mention that we were in a van, traveling for a week, living out of the van, and taking in Utah and Arizona's beauty. When we stopped for pizza in Beaver, our lives were changed. Allow me to explain. The pizza was incredible - the perfect crust and flavoring. You can really tell that these people take their pizza seriously. It was some of the best pizza I'd had in a while, so heavy that we ate it for an entire day; one piece was enough. Now, what happened is really why I'm writing this review. As I mentioned, we were traveling and not staying in Beaver. I realized about eight hours later that I had left my wallet somewhere, and I backtracked it to this place, but they were closed on Sunday, and my flight was Monday morning. So, I called them, and the lady was very nice, saying they had found my wallet and mailed it off. Three days later, my wallet with my ID and credit cards was in my mailbox. I highly recommend this place - get the Meat Lovers Pizza and the cheese bread; it's literally insane. Beaver is very lucky to have a place like this. 10 out of 10, I'm recommending. read more

My wife went to college in Rexburg, ID back in the 90's. She always went on and on about Craigo's and their Pizza Bombs and breadsticks and how much she loved them. I went back to visit with her once after we began dating and I ate there once. I remember it as being fine but I don't always trust super old food memories, as my palate has developed and evolved over the years. I am probably one of the biggest pizza snobs you'll encounter now and if you lay that "there's no such thing as bad pizza" BS on me, I will gaze upon you in disgust and never trust any food advice you ever give me again, Thanks to Yelp and a need to find a place to eat in Beaver, a place that neither of us were familiar with during a trip to UT from our new home in LV, I discovered that Craigo's lives on. We knew it wasn't in Rexburg any longer because one of our kids is going to school there and it's definitely not there. We planned to stop and see if it was indeed my wife's beloved college haunt on our trip back to LV after spending a few days in Provo with our other daughter and her husband. We rolled on in and after examining the menu and chatting with the extremely helpful lady behind the counter, we discovered that it was indeed the place. My wife ordered a Pizza Bomb and some breadsticks and I ordered some pizzas for the other kids and myself. It was exactly as my wife remembered and it and she was very happy. I really liked the garlic chicken pizza I ordered for my youngest daughter and the Hawaiian I ordered for my middle kid. My Meat lovers would have been better without the sausage. I didn't care for the flavor and it was very salty but other than that, it was OK. The prices were great and I sampled everything that everyone else ordered and liked it all very much. We had read other yelp reviews before deciding to try Craigo's and we did have a small concern that the service might be slow- that was an unfounded concern. Even with a large party and order, food came out fairly quickly, and other patrons also seemed to receive their food in a timely manner. I just went back in time by 20+ years. The original Craigo's was in Rexburg, ID, and was located right behind my apartment. I often survived off their pizza and cheesy breadsticks. When we found out that they had a location in Beaver, we had to stop. Honestly, I was worried that my taste was going to be related to being a hungry college student and the nostalgia of that time. I was worried that after building up the breadsticks and pizza to my kids that they would just roll their eyes and tell me it was the same as Dominoes. Well....everything was AMAZING! My kids agreed, and they are picky, that these are the best breadsticks they've ever had! We drive from SLC to St. George a lot for baseball and I will now be planning my trips according to stopping at Craigo's on my way down. Now the only pizza place within 50 miles. I ordered a few items because I wanted to know what to expect on my next visit. Overall the eating area was clean other than the annoying amount of flies. I spent more than half my eating time swatting away flies! The food over all was good and with as much food as I ordered I only needed one box to take home. I ordered: 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, nachos, cheese sticks, and a small drink. The pizza was very tasty which had mini pepperonis which made for one per bite. The slices were HUGE which covered about an 8" plate! Nachos were like movie theater nachos. The cheese was plain processed cheese and there was no flavor other than the salt on the chips. No options for peppers, or toppings (other than taco sauce). The cheese sticks, in my opinion, weren't real cheese sticks. They were just the breadsticks sprinkled with cheese, served with marinara sauce. For the extra price for the cheese I wouldn't recommend them, but as breadsticks they were delicious and garlicky. The reason for 4 stars was the annoying flies. The staff is very friendly and the food was mostly awesome. The food is made to order so it takes some time to get it once you've ordered it. read more

On top of that, they got my order wrong AND I didn't get a full pizza, as one of the girls mistakenly dropped a slice taking it out of the oven. This place is amazing!! I'm from Springfield Oregon, traveling across the country with my mom by car and happened upon it about six minutes after they closed. They noticed right away that my mom was at the window, and as we were walking away these sweethearts opened the door and let us order with smiles on their faces.
