Chicken burger and fries, about $12.

A standard dinner with limited menu items. My chicken burger was a little dry. My wife's vegan burger was flavorful. Fries were also hot, as everything is cooked to order.

Not great, not bad. A good medium place to get your breakfast fix on the road. We had thought about the coffee shop up the road but were hoping for something a little more substantial & somewhere to sit with the kids. Price was on point. Biscuits were awesome, gravy left something to be desired. French toast was standard and pretty good according kid #2. Didn't get a picture before he made a good dent in it. Husband said the breakfast burrito was good, kid #1 said it could use more cheese. I noticed it was a bit smaller than you usually get & the tortilla looked a little dried out.

Consensus: Hatch Station Restaurant is a great pit-stop for some delicious barbecue and wings! ______________________________________ Food: I got the pulled pork sandwich and the hot wings and both items really hit the spot! The pulled pork was nice and saucy and just flowing out of the bun which was somehow able to contain all that deliciousness without getting soggy! The wings were similarly amazing, nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and Frank's Red hot sauce to give them a traditional buffalo kick! The fries that came with each were also perfect! They are nice and thin with a great crispy exterior and have such a great crisp to potato ratio, ten out of ten! ______________________________________ Service: The waitress/cashier was a very nice older woman who was just really welcoming and kind! She was very patient with us looking over the menu before ordering at the counter and then let us know that we could just sit at any table and she'd be right over with the food, which she really was! I think the food came out within like 10 minutes or something, I guess we were only one of two parties inside the restaurant, but they really get the food out quick here! ______________________________________ Ambience: The inside of the restaurant is a bit on the smaller size, there are a few booths for parties of four and tables for four as well as a few areas for bigger parties of 6 or so. The restaurant seating is on the left side of the building and the right side is a little general store with snacks and other small items for sale. The place is also decorated with a lot of train pictures, a moose head with a cowboy hat, and other true American country diner classics haha. I'd definitely come for a casual lunch or dinner, its a true staple restaurant for the American road trip! ______________________________________

Very welcoming place offering delicious food My family and I stayed in Hatch for three nights on a recent road trip and the motel we were staying at was almost across the street from Hatch Station's Dining Car Restaurant. The motel extended their guests a 10% discount offer for meals at Hatch Station. We decided to give it a try and stopped there one morning for breakfast. Hatch Station's Dining Car Restaurant is intimate and clean. As you walk in, there is a little store area that sells some basic items you might need (It is not a grocery store), then there is the counter where you order your meal before sitting down. The very nice lady who took our order was very welcoming and pleasant. The coffee was good and the breakfast was tasty and reasonably priced. It was just what we needed before driving to Red Canyon to hit the hiking trails!

They don't have a salad bar or table service now. You order food at the front convenience store counter and get your own drinks, then they bring your food to your table. Their $4 side salad only has lettuce, one tomato wedge, a few red onion slices and a tiny cup of dressing; no cheese or croutons. Their menu is more limited with steaks, shrimp, ribs (with corn muffins and corn on the cob), marinara or Alfredo pastas (with garlic bread), and several salads. They had a French dip sandwich special but only for a few hours. Their homemade desserts are delicious--brownies/pie/muffins/banana bread/etc. The tables and dining room were very clean. Good food and service.

The Fried Pickles were amazing. The batter on them remained crispy and crunchy even halfway through our entrees. It was paired with this creamy horseradish-y sauce, and it worked so well. The pretzel was a bit on the saltier side for my liking but my fiance and his dad loved them! We all ordered steaks for dinner, because that's what they specialize in. They even have a grill for you to cook your own steak on!! Unfortunately it was broken when we dined in, but honestly i'm glad because I cannot cook for the life of me haha. The steaks were all cooked to our liking and tasted amazing. I also wanted to point out our amazing server Gabby. She was so sweet and truly made our experience 100x better. Definitely make sure to ask for her next time you go!

It's about a 25-minute drive out, so not super close. When we got there, I hesitated walking in at first because of a sign saying it's a bar, so I had to double-check we were in the right spot. Turns out, they do serve food, but since it's a bar, no one under 21 is allowed--just a heads up if you're traveling with kids. The menu has local meats from Kanab, and I went with the half rack of ribs. The fries came with a salad where you can add your own toppings -- huge portion and pretty tasty. The ribs were super tender and fell right off the bone. The fries were crispy, which was nice. My husband got the 12 oz ribeye with potatoes, and he got to add his own toppings too. The garlic roll was kinda meh--nothing special. The beer on tap was cold and refreshing, but my Pepsi was flat. Overall, it was a good meal with friendly service. If im ever in the area I would visit again . One thing that stood out to me was the worn out carpet tiles . The place is pretty big, and the tables were placed along the sides ( due to it being a bar first , I guess they need all the open space) -- a new floor update would make it feel much more inviting! If you're in the area and craving steak and ribs , it's worth a visit. :)

We arrived about 6 and waited about 20 minutes for a very nice booth. We split a pretty good-sized house salad. It was fine. I had the trout with asparagus and sweet potato fries. Fish (lemon pepper and salt) was tasty and perfectly prepared. Asparagus was also perfectly cooked, still a bit of crunch. The fries were too limp but tasted good. My hubs ordered the ribeye. Looked so juicy and charred but was a bit tough. Flavor was great and it was a gigantic 16-oz. portion. Coffee was tasteless, unfortunately. The absolute highlight of the meal was the pie! The apple pie is the best I have ever eaten. The filling contained nice slices of apples, no mushy stuff here. And the crust was incredibly flaky with a bit of sugar baked on top. My husband ordered the cherry pie à la mode and was quite pleased with the pie and two little scoops of ice cream alongside. Nice staff too! This place is popular for a reason. It HAS to be that incredible pie.

So glad we had dinner early because this place was a bit packed, I believe, due to it being the week of Thanksgiving. Food was good! I enjoyed my elk burger and kinda wish I didn't get bacon since it overpowered the elk a bit. The elk was delicious. I should've just ordered 2 patties. My wife had the rainbow trout. Not the best trout I've had, but it was okay. They were a bit short staffed, hence the crowd waiting in the lobby. So kudos to our waitress, who was the only server on this Monday shift. The bartender also had to do double duty, seating us. Overall, despite the understaffing issue, we had a nice dinner. When's the next time you'd get to eat elk! Our server Hallie (I think) was awesome and literally ran around helping the tables. Also, great selection of beers!!

A Dash Of Country French With Amazing Service…read more.... My wife and I were on the prowl again for a restaurant for dinner. Typical tourists. Reviews said "try Vermillon". We were glad we did. - Overall: 5 - Exterior: 3 - Ambiance: 4 - Menu: 4 - Food Quality: 5 - Food Portion: 5 - Service: 10 - Chef: 10 - Price and Value: 5 - Parking: 4 - Location: Convenient. In the "downtown" area across the street from the Wild Thyme Cafe. - Exterior: Nothing special. A boxy building with outside seating. - Ambiance: Country French...or as close as you can get in Utah. Actually, nice and comfortable. - Menu: Not big, but with interesting choices in each category. - Food: Excellent. We started the meal by sharing a Caprese Salad ($15). Large and tasty. My entree was one of the night's specials...Vegetable Curry ($22). Big bowl of fresh diced vegetables with a moderately spicy sauce. A fine dish. My wife chose the other special of the day...Chicken Marsala ($25) on a bed of mashed potatoes. It's one of her favorite's and she said "it was as good as any I've had". For dessert, we shared a Chocolate Mousse ($12). We could have had 3 more. For drinks, I had a Belgian Blond beer ($10) while my wife had a glass of French Chardonnay ($16). Both did the job. - Service: AMAZING describes our server, Wendy. She was the only person taking care of a roomful of customers. I counted 30 with more coming in. But Wendy helped us as if we were the only people in the restaurant. AMAZING. And one other question stumped us. How did the ONE chef handle 30+ orders and maintain a steady pace in the kitchen? Wow! - Price and Value: Not cheap, but worth it. The total before tax and tip was an even $100. - Parking: Fine, both behind and on the street. Vermillon might not be as "country French" as you'll find in France, but it was great and a lot closer to home.
