Stopped in at Giffs after hiking. We had the platter with pork rib, chicken, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes and cornbread. It came with sauce on the side and everything tasted amazing... well I didn't taste the cornbread because it was too light...but everything else was good. We went back the next day as well. What a cute barbecue spot. We rolled into town late at night. There was nobody in the parking lot so we were afraid that it was closed. However, it was still open for another 45 minutes. We got the pound of brisket with their chili and a slice of cornbread. The pound of brisket comes with three barbecue sauces and was delicious as was the chili. Misty was so helpful. We were asking her all kinds of questions about sites and canyons around the area and she gave us a whole rundown of different places to visit And different times to go as well as a really cool breakfast spot nearby. I went when they first opened so no one was there but me. I had the ribs, coleslaw & Dutch potatoes. The corn bread definitely was fresh and the house bbq sauce was good. Only issue I had was that the owner is a Steelers fan and I am a season Chicago Bears ticket holder. They were playing each other this Sunday. We had a very good discussion about the 2 teams. This place was next to the Hollywood Museum (tourist trap). It smelled like bbq so I was intrigued. I ordered a brisket sandwich & baked beans to go. The brisket was tasty but a bit greasy & the meat was more like burnt ends shredded vs tender sliced steak. It was served on a soft sweet French roll. A cute little bbq restaurant inside an antique shop. We popped in here after another restaurant in the area had a wait. When we walked in, they were out of everything but the pulled pork but expected more of everything else within 30 mins. We ordered pull pork, mac and cheese, potatoes, and cornbread. The pork was awesome - generous portion and well-prepared. The cornbread was pretty bad (very dry) ... but the mac and cheese made up for it. The potatoes were pretty good too (tastier than they looked... be warned). The meat also comes with one sauce. They have several options with a slight upcharge to add additional sauces. This place was great! As you walk through the Gift Shop you are quickly pointed to the Left through a small souvenir room to Giff's BBQ... Fast and Friendly Service. Food was spot on, inexpensive and satisfying. Had the Brisket & Peppered Ribs come with Cornbread and 1 side, I chose the Lloyd's Damn Chili. Brisket was lean AND moist. The Ribs beer tender, fell off the bone and very well flavored. They had a Signature sauce and a Spicy BBQ sauce. Both were great, though I preferred the Spicy which was not spicy (more like the Hot/Spicy Taco Bell sauce level). Definitely recommend on your way through Kanab. read more

Excellent food!!! But what's even better than the food was the service. They have two young people behind the counter that were very kind and professional. They were both very in tune with the customers. I had the pulled pork and macaroni and cheese and both were awesome. I also asked about a local beer and was recommended. I have eaten at Giff's several times now & have found it to be consistently good. The flavorful ribs literally fall off the bone. The smoked chicken salad is exceptional great both for the meat & the very fresh hand cut vegetables. The unsweetened ice tea is always good. This bbq place is delicious - but difficult to find as it's inside Little Hollywood store and museum. Turn left inside the door and you will find it. The menu is huge, food is delicious, counterstaff is lovely, friendly and fast. I found a new brew (Uinta cutthroat pale ale) which should be advertised as an amber -it is fantastic! I would say skip this place. Food is okay, pricey for what you get. Not to mention they have this big display on the wall for military / veterans and they only do it for the one person's meal and when my dad went back up to order a coffee and dessert they didn't even give it to him again... really disappointing to have this big display as if they really do support military / veterans and then do quite the opposite. Solid spot in Kanab. I came while passing through the town. Located in the back left of the building. The room is large with a service counter in the back. It happened to be a Sunday and there are a ton of TVs in the place. Very easy place to catch the game. I tried the recommended chicken and brisket along with Mac and cheese and their signature sauce. The brisket was a little dry to me but decent amount for a combo plate. The chicken breast was incredibly moist which was an interesting contrast. Mac and cheese was good but I wouldn't say overly cheesy, which I would've liked. The sauce was solid and helped with the flavor of the chicken and dryness of the brisket. The corn bread was a little sweet, reasonably moist but not overly corny. Staff were very friendly and helpful during the ordering process. Place also gives a veteran's discount (perhaps only around Veteran's day weekend?). Overall worth going to if you're in the area and need food before 10pm. read more

Giff's is a new BBQ restaurant in Kanab. The BBQ is more southeastern style with slaw on the sandwiches but the brisket is slow smoked Texas style with a healthy smoke ring. You can smell the BBQ walking up so first test was passed. Couldn't see the smoker but the meat revealed it was well smoked. Typically risky visiting a BBQ joint later in the evening due to the meat being off the smoker and dried out but we lucked out. The brisket was lean yet moist, full of flavor. The chicken was a little dry but overall good. For lighter appetites get a BBQ sandwich skip the bread and enjoy the meat and side it comes with. Overall a solid addition to Kanab's assortment of restaurants. The sides were decent the cast iron potatoes were good and would again. The cornbread is sweet and cake like. Giff's a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. We'll be back again. read more

Uhm I'd give this place a 10/10 just for the staff. The gals running this place were genuine, kind and down to earth. So glad we happened upon this spot. I'm a picky BBQ girl, and the bbq was decent (all options a little dry, but we got in late). We got one of each sauce all good! I would love to come in right when they open... I bet it's delicious fresh off the smoker. Sides were great... Mac, potatoes and beans... YUM!! We got both cobblers (also decent)... I'm the problem. My grandmas cobbler is superior I'm sorry. SO NOT EAT HERE!! THE GUY IS NUTS!! My wife, her 15lb service dog and I walked into a completely empty restaurant at 5:00pm on a Thursday ready to try some BBQ. We were immediately met with "you'll have to sit over in the corner with that dog. I don't want him all over the place" by who I'll assume was the owner. When I questioned him about this his attitude went through the roof. I told my wife let's go and he continued with me and immediately began yelling like a lunatic. As I walked through the dining area and gift shop he kept yelling insults. For all I know he's still going on. No wonder the place was empty at dinner time. ZERO STARS!! read more

We went in for a combo plate, Ribs and Brisket, plus one Brisket sandwich.Unfortunately the brisket sandwich did NOT have the nice tender sliced brisket in it that my hubby had in the combo- just pieces of "shredded" burnt and tough dry beef pieces. Awful. Not recommended. Their main meat combo plates might be a better choice, as the sandwich was very expensive for the poor quality. read more

Pulled pork was bland and had no sauce. The brisket was ok, but still kind of flavorless. I love me some carbs so it's sad that I didn't eat the potatoes and didn't love the Mac and cheese. Not a good experience. They charge you for water. They charge you if you want extra sauce. They charge you for using a credit card. I love BBQ but paying $80+ for two adults and one kid while having to ration BBQ is absolutely ridiculous and was a buzz kill, ignoring the very dry brisket and low quality BBQ.
