    Ribeye steak

Scenery is beautiful, ambiance is very nice. Quiet, serene, ample and comfortable seating. The charcruterie board to start out with was really good. The honeycomb was a nice touch you don't get to see often. The steaks were fine, not bad and not amazing. The mashed potatoes I had with my ribeye were a little chunky, which I appreciated because I like the chunks. My wife's bison steak was flavorful and not dry. Lots of puppies on site that were great to see.

Parking is okay. Definitely would recommend a reservation for lunch or dinner. We were quickly sat & had our order taken. Menu is seasonal & local produce based. It has a nice modern rustic vibe. The farm can be seen from the windows. The farm dogs are sweet fluffy cuties that can often be seen in the yard or inside the store/hotel lobby during the day. The charcuterie board was very good. It had a well rounded variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, peppers, etc. It was very filling & I would recommend everyone try it. The steaks were good, but nothing over the top. The accompaniments were fresh. The prices are a bit steep, but the meal was decent overall. This is our third time eating here in the last couple of years as we have passed through the area. I would come back.

can't get more farm-to-table than this !! had the BEST experience here - homey service & absolutely divineeeeee food. every dish and every ingredient was delicious and tasted so fresh. was my first time having bison meat, which was juicy and tender. tasted like beef but overall a little fattier? the chicken dish was the most surprising though - softest chicken i've ever had and the gigantic truffles on top were earthy and tasted like some sort of root, paired well with the soft chicken. also highly recommend the garden salad, which looks like it had ingredients straight from their greenhouse and garden! Brussels Sprouts were also a solid side/appetizer if it's still on the menu.

I definitely think this restaurant is a hidden gem! First off, we had the sweetest server. She was very kind and attentive. The restaurant was cozy and clean. We started off with their elk chili as an appetizer and it was delicious! Following that we had their pasta and to finish up we ordered a slice of their strawberry pie and cheesecake. Mixing the two together made for an unforgettable combo!

Amazing and refreshing. Cordwood is about 10 minutes outside a Zion park entrance We were so happy that we went here instead of restaurants in Springdale. The view and atmosphere are so peaceful. People are very kind. Food was amazing with generous portions. We ordered: watermelon salad it was beautiful, dressed perfectly and delicious. Bison burger perfectly cooked Craft soda is amazing and refreshing. A special place.

Very nummy, I had the bison bolognese, it was near perfection to me the noodles were just a little past al dente though. The service was amazing! We were helped by Carmella and she was so funny and knew the menu very well. I wish I could have tried the bison burger but it was not being served. Maybe it is a lunch item only. For desert we had the key lime pie and crème brûlée. Both were fantastic but as someone who doesn't always love crème brûlée I would return to this establishment specifically for this desert

We stumbled across this charming, rustic farm/ranch restaurant on our way back to our RV resort. It had been snowing a bit so we lucked out on the views this farm had to offer! Pros: -Decor is on point! Fireplace kept the restaurant feeling warm and toasty! Absolutely divine. -Beef stew. Tomato broth and spice made it incredibly tasty and flavorful. Beef itself was soft and tender. -Apple Salad. Simple and delicious. -Menu. Everything looked tasty! Con: -Service. Very slow. Perhaps something typical given that other reviews said the same thing. It took a bit longer than expected to get our menus and drinks. Other than that, our meals arrived in a timely fashion consistent with a farm to table restaurant . I would definitely come back, but I would call in my order 20 minutes ahead of time if I were hungry and did not want to wait too long. Otherwise, if you're not in a rush and do not mind taking it slow and lingering a while, then this should not be an issue.

Pros: Wonderful property with farm animals and gardens - pigs, ponies, chickens Loved the diverse menu and drink options Servers are friendly and helpful The salads are their stars - great dressings and wonderful veggies; mixed berry and burrata were my favorites Cons: They ran out of some of their entrees; to be expected I guess since they have only so much product per night. Did not love the Pasta Bolognese entree as the sauce lacked any real flavor and there wasn't enough cheese to make up the sifference Pro tip: Stay for s'mores at the bonfire and pet the cute white pups who protect the farm animals at night

We decided to drop by and see what was on the menu for dinner & the menu looked so good we decided to stay. All three of us had the steak frites and it was so good! We also had the creme brulee and key lime pie for dessert, both made in house & amazing. Tony was great & attentive and even gave us a carrot to feed the horses! This was such a good little restaurant on the ranch for our stay.

The first time I went there 2 years ago, I was wowed by the bison ribeye and the service. When we were booking a trip to Zion this year, we specifically chose to stay at Zion Mountain Ranch (despite the slight drive back into the park) because of the dining experience we had at Cordwood. This time, however, the restaurant was a bit of a letdown. First night, they didn't tell us they were out of the bison ribeye until I went to order it, so I was a bit bummed and instead did their chicken entree which was bland and the chicken was dry. The portion sizes appeared to be all over the place - some entrees were small, and the venison bolognese was seemingly an entire box of pasta ordered by our youngest child, so we would have appreciated if the wait staff could have let us know and either we could have split the meal and shared amongst us, or chose a different order as she was unable to eat even half of the dish. The next night, we went for dessert one night and the girls got brownie sundaes and I shared a slice of apple pie, everyone agreed that it was pretty good, though the sundaes did not come out with the full fixings as listed on the menu. Ours were missing the whipped cream and caramel/fudge topping. Breakfast on our final morning there was uninspiring. The eggs were not seasoned at all and there was no salt and pepper on the tables, as well as they were out of the house made hot sauce shown on the menu, so it was pretty bland to me. The coffee pot and hot water were on the fritz, so instead of telling us, our waitress brought us lukewarm microwaved water (which she never told us, but we heard her tell another table). I'd rather have had juice than water barely warm enough to steep tea. The breakfast potatoes they do are pretty terrific, they're really crispy and good. The toast and jams were of good quality. Portions for breakfast were much more reasonable. Each of the three experiences was marked by a noticeable need for more staff. Each dining experience took much longer than it should have because the hostess was also the server and also seemed to be bussing tables after. There was another gentleman who we thought worked there, but didn't do a thing besides chat with some of the tables and play his drum. The first night, it took an hour and a half to complete our dinner service. We didn't return for dinner service the next night because we simply couldn't risk it taking so long and missing out on the horse ride we scheduled that evening. The setting is very cool, we love the rustic feel and that they seem to make everything from scratch. Their greenhouse with aquaponics is very cool, and we loved seeing the pigs, chickens, dogs, horses, etc all outside. Last time we were there, they also had rabbits, so it is nice to see that they rotate their livestock. Their four Great Pyrenees guard dogs are super friendly and welcome any scritches, and patrol the grounds even up near the cabins we stayed in. Overall, it was ok. A bit of a letdown for me compared to a couple years ago when we stumbled upon it randomly and had a great experience with better service.

The service is genuinely good, with staff who keep things moving and make you feel taken care of without any fuss. But the real standout is the pie. Truly some of the best anywhere; flaky crust, rich fillings, and the kind of "ho-made" taste that makes you consider ordering a second slice to go. A great starting point for your park day and absolutely worth a visit for the pie alone.

Since we were staying in the attached hotel, we figured we would try a slice! When we checked into the hotel in the afternoon, we wanted in and saw a bunch of fresh pies in the display case in the front, but we decided to hold off until after dinner. When we returned, they were all gone! Luckily we talked with the waitress and she told us that they still had plenty in the back. They also fresh bake pies every morning to be ready by 7AM opening. Chocolate Cream Pie Slice ($4.99) - That's one hefty slice of pie! It's at least half a pound of pure sugar. The topping is stabilized whipped cream while the base is a really chocolatey super thick custardy, probably cornstarch-thickened, pudding, more like jello than pot de crème. The pie crust seems a little wan, not that heavily baked given the lighter color. It's a harder crisp with a good amount of flakiness and is probably shortening based. Yet the crust still stays crunchy even with the onslaught of pudding above. As a whole the slice is ridiculously heavy and rich, super filling after dinner. I can't vouch for anything else on their menu, but Thunderbird Restaurant certainly serves some good pies! It's reasonably priced and is served in a huge portion. There's not much else I could ask for. Bathrooms - Outside in the hotel lobby

This was probably one of the best meals I have had in a very long time and we are from a big city - Los Angeles and eat out often. Loved our waitress! We tried the pretzel appetizer (amazing), the beet carpaccio (also just fantastic). I had the duck, my daughter had the linguine bolognese and a side of steak cooked immaculately perfect. We also had the salmon tofu, burger and fries, the pork ribeye. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted 10/10!!! We even had dessert and my Utah peach and blueberry crisp was perfection and I was devastated to have to leave it half eaten as my child had a meltdown. Will definitely write this recommendation so that the world knows to stop here. Thank you for a lovely meal and for helping me with my kiddo.

If not, I go with Oscar's Cafe and Switchback Grille which were other places I visited. The hamburgers here were nothing spectacular and particularly dry. The service was average at best. Everyone here love to say, "will let your server know." My mentor, Andrew Cherng of Panda, famously pointed out that is one way to push away responsibilities and make the customers wait even longer. Funny thing is that it's such a small request that can easily be taken care of immediately. Okay the highlight was the wild game meatloaf which was also the saving grace because I normally don't like meatloaf and this one was really well done. It made up for the dry burger and the average service as well as the so so ambiance, considering everything is quite expensive for a casual dining place.
