Great spot for nicer American food in Kanab. We stopped by on our way from Page, AZ to Zion and were glad we did. I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf - it was $31, which seemed slightly pricey, but the portion size was very large, so the price was somewhat justified. The meatloaf itself was cooked well and tasty. A few minor points for improvement are that I was hoping the sauce would be a bit more like BBQ sauce rather than tomato sauce and I also felt that the bacon could've been a bit crispier. The interior of the restaurant has a nice yet chill vibe and there is also a nice outdoor patio seating area. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The service speed is fine. Overall, I would say the food here is a solid 4 stars in quality, which is enough to warrant stopping here on a roadtrip through the area. read more

What a wonderful way to end the first day of our Road Trip from AZ to Big Sky, MT! Tavez was our server and deserves AT LEAST 10 stars! He quickly picked up on our vibe and interacted perfectly with us all night. We are are trio: me, hubby and MIL. We enjoyed cocktails to start the night and Tavez quickly explained UT pour laws (1.5 oz...WTH??) but appreciated the heads up. Tavez was great to explain the menu and offer suggestions. Two of us ordered the Pistachio Chicken and I had the Trout. Both dishes were amazing! And everything else we saw come out of the kitchen looked just as tasty. We ended the night with Caramel Cheesecake (another suggestion from Tavez - along with Key Lime Pie but we'll have to try that next time!) and it was delicious! The prices are WAY too high for the food you actually receive. I was super disappointed with the shrimp pasta. It was dry and when I asked for butter the server told me they don't use real butter and brought me a cup of melted margarine. It was disgusting. She was nice but REALLY? . The meatloaf was weird. The sauce was overwhelming and not a compliment to the dish. Perhaps get it on the side. Timing was also terrible. We ordered a soup and a salad which we were enjoying but the entre came out immediately so we had to move on. Not sure if they were just trying to flip the tables, but we felt horribly rushed. Stopped by Wild Thyme Café for a quick lunch after kayaking the Colorado River, and it ended up being one of the best meals of the trip. Food: I ordered the elk burger with smoked Gouda, house burger sauce, and sage butter smashed potatoes -- and it absolutely blew my mind how good everything was. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the potatoes were some of the best I've ever had. It was the kind of meal that completely hits the spot after a long morning outdoors. Stopped in for lunch on the recommendation from the folks at the front desk of the local Marriott. This place didn't disappoint. My server was a delight and recommended the turkey club with smashed rosemary potatoes (pictured) and the salted caramel cheesecake (too big to be pictured!). Both dishes were delicious. After a long day hiking in Zion National Park, Wild Thyme Cafe was a nice oasis. We were absolutely starving and halfway through my meal I realized I didn't snap photos of the food, bummer. I had the big sexy burger, which was decent. An average burger that tastes better after a hike. It was accompanied by seasoned potatoes that were good, but not better than a classic French fry. One of my friends ordered the Wild Thyme Pasta and wasn't a fan. Another ordered the fish tacos and was satisfied but not blown away. The last friend ordered Kanab Cowboy ribs and loved them. One of the best vegan meals I've had in years. They use local ingredients whenever possible and most recipes are made in house. My son and husband also loved their meat based meals. Stopped in Kanab for a night during our travels. Went into Wild Thyme for a drink. Forgot Utah's weird rules that you can't order alcohol without food, but that wasn't their fault. You are in a small quaint town and this bistro was right across the street from our hotel and had good reviews. Inside it is fairly basic in nature. I wouldn't call it a fine dining place but it was very comfortable. The service was great and friendly. There is a wide variety of dishes. Many types of burgers. Two people ordered the meatloaf and loved it and the portion was huge. I had the elk burger and it also was very good. They make their own desserts and we indulged in a couple to try. We each had drink. It is a great place to eat but fair warning I had sticker shock when the bill came. Four dinners, four drinks and two desserts ended up being about $240 with tip. They also added in a 3% fee to use your credit card which they may have had signs but we had not noticed that. read more

It came with 4 uninspiring asparagus, but that's not the star of the show. The trout was well cooked and seasoned. I like that it was not smothered in Cajun seasoning that overpowers a fish. You can't go wrong with the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It had a pleasantly complex flavor profile with the tiniest bit of heat and the mole sauce served as the perfect compliment. My wife loved the green chile pasta too. Our server was new and apologized for the wait, but we didn't notice it enough to consider it an issue.
