This place was good. There were warm, fresh chips with yummy salsa. We got the Avocado egg rolls are good to start with and the mango salsa really takes it to amazing. We also got the chicken chimichanga and smothered it with that tasty mango salsa! Whateve

A buddy and I wanted mexican food so we thought we would try this place out and ended up being very disapointed! It took awhile for someone to greet us, took 5 to 10 minutes for our drinks to get to our table and then there was maybe 10 to 15 chips for chips and salsa and the salas was gone just like that after 15 chips max. I got a chicken and a ground beef enchaldias not much flavor, I ended up just adding some hot sause to get some flavor. The Burritto my friend had was huge but once again he said there was no flavor and it was the worst burritto he had ever had. It was a little expensive for what you get.

I'd give it no star but I can't. It was late, we were hungry, and we still had another few hours to get home. To sum it up, the food is bland and does not taste fresh. It IS edible :-) and the staff was friendly. Note to self: trust your fellow yelpers when you see a 1 star and more than 1 review... You've been warned.

It's screaming goodness

This place must be vindicated! It feels a little odd giving a 5-star review to an establishment that only has two 1-star ratings, but I'm telling you, this place has the best fried ice-cream that I've ever eaten in my entire life! I am originally from Utah and have eaten here a few times over the past several years. Their Mexican food is pretty solid. I don't think it was bland like others have complained about. It wasn't the best Mexican food ever, but it was fresh and hit the spot, especially after a long drive. I recommend to any person who travels through Beaver Utah, you must stop here and try the fried ice cream! It's a giant scoop of ice cream with a fried, crispy glaze of either chocolate, caramel, or honey. It sits in a warm, crispy, sugar coated tortilla and served with whip-cream and a cherry. AMAZING. During a road-trip from California to Utah I would seriously drive an extra 3 hours to go through Beaver just to pick up dessert.

My overall experience at this restaurant was by far one of the worst I've ever experienced in my life. Coming to Kan Kun has pushed me to write my very first review. After sitting down initially, the waitress took our drink orders of which we ordered a round of waters and a root beer. She than casually mentioned that they had no running water and that they would be charging us for bottled waters which seemed odd to us b/c most establishments would provide free water no matter what the circumstances. We placed our orders and she brought out my nachos but hadn't brought my root beer ..... we waited and waited for her to come back but after waiting, we went to kitchen to locate her of which she than finally brought me my root beer and told me she forgot. How could you forget a basic order of all waters and a root beer?? That was strike one, than my 2 year old niece had to go to the bathroom and they didn't have a working bathroom. My sister had to take her daughter outside to potty in the parking lot, strike two. The nachos I ordered were drenched in toppings and were not good, strike three. We than requested to talk to the manager and he/she refused to come out to talk to us, the final strike!! Unbelievable, no ownership what's so ever. My food cost $20sh dollars and the whole drink order 5 waters plus a root beer totaled $17.95 ..... ridiculous!!! It's not even about the money!!! It's how they handled everything!!! Horrible strongly recommend that you do NOT GO HERE to eat!!!!

Overall- solid restaurant. Good quality food and a clean space. We took a chance on this restaurant since we were tired of "roadtrip food". While initially skeptical (early and limited reviews) the food was good. Steak quality was good, the guacamole and rice were legit. Food was not super salty which was a plus. Flavors are a mix of central and coastal (Yucatan) Mexico...not spicy, more on the tangy (chile verde enchiladas) or sweet side (fajitas). Recommend the "Asada signature dish" and the "fajitas". Price was about $13-$15 for each of those dishes. Some of the dishes seemed a little overpriced (burrito about $11-12). We were at 3.5 stars of 5 but since we can't go with half numbers...giving them a 4 since some of the really early reviews are not representative.

Pollo del Diablo. It's with shrimp on the menu but my other half prefers chicken--it's fabulous either way! Spicy!!!

Just found my new taco spot far away from home…read more Since I've been trucking for almost a week now, I've had the chance to try new food spots on the road -- mostly takeout, no sit-down -- and this place genuinely surprised me. The food was hot, fresh, and way better than expected. If I'm being honest, it was kind of a shocker. It's almost sad to say, but this was better than a lot of what I've had on my recent occasions in San Antonio. I stopped in quickly since we had to get back on the road, and from ordering to food in hand it took no more than 5-7 minutes. I ordered three mini tacos at $3 each, which is a solid price for Utah. I went with one carne asada, one lengua, and one adobada, all topped with cilantro and onion, served on fresh corn tortillas. The tortillas were soft, warm, and clearly made fresh. For salsas, I had two salsa verdes and one salsa roja. The salsa verde was classic and mild -- very fresh and flavorful, though I personally prefer it a bit spicier. The salsa roja delivered exactly what I was looking for with good heat and great flavor. I almost ordered tacos suaves, but I was really craving the mini tacos and I'm glad I went with them. Next time, I'll definitely try the tacos suaves. Everything tasted freshly made and not rushed, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is located inside the Flying J off Interstate 15 (Exit 112), and I was also impressed with how clean the Flying J itself was. Great service as well -- the guy at the counter was friendly and welcoming. This stop turned into a great meal and a new memory in the small town of Beaver, Utah. I'll definitely be back if my routes bring me through again. Highly recommend stopping by Beaver Taco if you're passing through.

They were delicious! We asked for red sauce, green sauce, paid a little extra for pico de gallo, and the nice lady working there gave me pickled jalapeños upon request. Many Mexican restaurants in Southern California, where we live, don't offer the relleno burrito, so that was a win. The whole experience was a win for us, so check them out!

What a great dish when done right and they do it right here. This is Mexican comfort food at its best. Chicken enchilada was pretty big, stuffed with tender chicken. Beans were the kind you cook for hours to achieve the nice background flavors. Service was warm and friendly. They close down first of November till end of February. If in town search them out. My husband also had one and also a cheese enchilada. The servers were very nice and the restaurant was very clean. If you have a large group though, you need to make a reservation. MY GOD the new crew is absolutely amazing! Especially the afternoon crew. There's this girl with i think braces and glasses; ABSOLUTE angel and because of her service I'm always tipping. She's like the Valerie's soul of the restaurant. I kid you not. She knows all her regulars order and is always serving with a smile. Also when she's working with whom I assume is her regular staff, you can always count on the condiment tables to be stocked, til it gets around the evening time. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty simple, nothing to extravagant, but it is welcoming nonetheless. The food? I mainly come here for the Menudo (the girl who I was just talking about will immediately know who I am LoL) but yes, the menudo. My homegirl told me about menudo, and now Valerie's is my plug for that. It's flavored to my liking, which I deeply appreciate. Do understand that sometimes you may get more bones and cartilage than the cow honeycomb tripe. So ask if you could not get that bones and stuff? I haven't, but I don't think it'll hurt to ask. I like the crew that makes my menudo, so I accept it no matter what I get. If you are drunk off your behind, then baby, come on down to Valerie's for some pretty okay food. I'm not a huge fan of tacos and such, but they're menudo is *chefs kiss* in my opinion. So I can only give my opinion on that. As well as the service. Don't forget to tip them! If a cashier remembers my order off the bat, that means 1, I'm a big back, 2, they are that versed in knowing what I want, and 3, I'm a big back. K bye!
