Dang. Small burrito. Unpleasant people. If you have to eat in Beaver, 5 stars. It was a good burrito. If you can skip Beaver all together, do it. You won't blessed by any experience in Beaver. I suspect there are mice or were in the past from the resemblance to how those particular ceiling tiles look when mice live up there and pee on them. Won't be back unfortunately. read more

Just found my new taco spot far away from home. Since I've been trucking for almost a week now, I've had the chance to try new food spots on the road -- mostly takeout, no sit-down -- and this place genuinely surprised me. The food was hot, fresh, and way better than expected. If I'm being honest, it was kind of a shocker. It's almost sad to say, but this was better than a lot of what I've had on my recent occasions in San Antonio. I stopped in quickly since we had to get back on the road, and from ordering to food in hand it took no more than 5-7 minutes. I ordered three mini tacos at $3 each, which is a solid price for Utah. I went with one carne asada, one lengua, and one adobada, all topped with cilantro and onion, served on fresh corn tortillas. The tortillas were soft, warm, and clearly made fresh. For salsas, I had two salsa verdes and one salsa roja. The salsa verde was classic and mild -- very fresh and flavorful, though I personally prefer it a bit spicier. The salsa roja delivered exactly what I was looking for with good heat and great flavor. I almost ordered tacos suaves, but I was really craving the mini tacos and I'm glad I went with them. Next time, I'll definitely try the tacos suaves. Everything tasted freshly made and not rushed, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is located inside the Flying J off Interstate 15 (Exit 112), and I was also impressed with how clean the Flying J itself was. Great service as well -- the guy at the counter was friendly and welcoming. This stop turned into a great meal and a new memory in the small town of Beaver, Utah. On a recent road trip from St. George to Salt Lake City we stopped at Beaver Taco 2, (not the free standing big restaurant -- the one inside the convenience store at the gas station/truck stop) So, I had read a few reviews and one person commented on the shrimp tacos so I gave them a try! I must say, the shrimp were tender, plump and perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious white sauce, which was very complementary; these tacos tacos were absolutely delicious! My husband had Carnitas tacos and he enjoyed them. Fresh cut ripe tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and lime. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped again on our way back!But this time, it was close to closing (a few minutes before 10 PM) but they were welcoming and took our order and made 4 tacos from scratch, and everything was delicious! Yummy horchata too! I'd definitely recommend stopping on your way between St. George and Salt Lake City for yummy tacos. I'm sure the rest of the food is very good as well but that's what we ate. read more

Quick Rating: Pulled into the Beaver Pilot / Flying J with my rig today. Found a rather hidden Taco Place without a direct entrance from the adjacent gas station. They look like they're doing some light construction, remodeling the place. I asked if they had any Al Pastor Tacos, and the closest thing they offered was the adobada. Close enough. So put in an order for 2 lengua (Beef Tongue) tacos and 1 Adobada and wasn't expecting too much--- being that everywhere you go in Los Angeles at night there's a taco stand in every curbside and corner. Here's the verdict: Portions were huge, which for the price to portion ratio, it made sense each taco was 5.00 versus LA Street prices 2.00-2.50/ per. The soft taco skin was corn tortillas not flour, and the beef tongues were leaning on the overdone side of the spectrum. It was good, just a bit overcooked. The adobada pork was marinated very well, like a Birria base but with pork. Enjoyed this snack. What really stood out with the tacos were the fresh tomatoes garnished with the tacos, the onions, fresh, and with the adobada, they even gave it a touch of guac to even out the richness from the fats. I want to recommend to everyone their Salsa Roja, if you are a true heat lover, love all things spicy, the Salsa Roja is a must try; the salsa Verde, I'm not too much of a fan, but I don't see why they shouldnt start selling Salsa Rojas in those Mason Jars. Very happy with my decision to detour into Beaver, take a break here and explore this establishment tucked into the corner of the gas station. read more

We kept hearing about how amazing the churros at Beaver Taco were... so finally we stopped by to try them. The verdict: they are delicious. Particularly at their low price point. Also they have a drive thru and it's next to the gas station, so if you want a quick treat during your travels this is a smart stop. I also got a California burrito. What a great find in Beaver, UT. This is legit Mexican food right off I-15. We did takeout from the drive through. We ordered the bacon burrito, and the chile relleno burrito. They were delicious! We asked for red sauce, green sauce, paid a little extra for pico de gallo, and the nice lady working there gave me pickled jalapeños upon request. Many Mexican restaurants in Southern California, where we live, don't offer the relleno burrito, so that was a win. The whole experience was a win for us, so check them out! read more

Sorry but this isn't good at all. Yes service was good as we walked in and ordered, but the food subpar to Taco Bell. We got a taco salad with grilled chicken, 3 asada tacos, 2 shrimp tacos and some chips. The taco salad was gross, chicken was mushy, crude dry cheddar and runny beans, the shrimp tacos were decent, the asada tacos had flavor but was dry and the guacamole on the chips were tasteless, combined with a dirty gross restroom? When you see a sign on the highway advertising fresh tacos in a town called Beaver, who wouldn't want to stop by and check it out. I gotta say, I love me some Beaver Taco! This is a nice hidden gem just off highway 15 in Beaver, Utah. We were on a long road trip and stopped in for lunch. Beaver Taco has a nice selection of Mexican cuisine favorites including menudo on the weekends. Beaver Taco makes really good tacos. It's always a treat when you can find good tacos in a small town. Absolutely wonderful Mexican food. Not spicy unless you add your own. Ordered beef, chimichanga, and chicken chimichanga. Filled with wonderful quality meat. On a recent roadtrip up to SLC, I stopped by for a grab and go kind of dinner before heading to the Supercharger on the other side of the highway. Everyone orders the Breakfast Burrito, so why not? I went with the mixed which included eggs, cheese, potatoes, Bacon, Ham and Sausage. The burrito was the standard size and was folded well, so it held together through the entire eating experience. I asked them to put the red hot salsa inside to make the Togo just that much easier, but they failed to do so. Luckily, I asked for some on my way out. The burrito was pretty good and if traditional breakfast burrito style, but nothing I'd consider special. Their Red Hot Salsa was just that hot. Not so hot that it was unbearable, but hot enough to make your nose drip. The Pina Colada Agua Fresca was super sweet and almost syrupy. Let's be real in a small town like Beaver where from the freeway if you blink you might miss it you need a catchy name. Is is it classy? May be not, but catchy it is. We stopped by early morning to pick up breakfast burritos before heading into the canyon. It smelled delicious. Service was quite slow to acknowledge and help me at the counter once inside, but they did apologize and had my food made quickly. The green sauce I received with my meal was subpar for me, but the bacon burrito was amazing without sauce. It was large enough to keep me full for hours. I was really excited to try out Beaver Taco. The place was jampacked and they prepared the food very quickly. I got some street tacos and they didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Sooooo pleasantly surprised!!! When I was trying to decide what to order I asked the cashier what was inside the carne asada burrito and she said guacamole and salsa and I was very confused because I have never had a burrito without a bunch of other fillers like rice, beans, etc. Even though I was skeptical and was sure she was wrong or misunderstood me, I ordered a mix of carne asada and carnitas burrito. My husband ordered a mix of lengua (tongue) and shrimp burrito . She did say his comes with some rice which he asked for it on the side. When I tell you that my burrito was really only filled with meat and just enough guacamole and salsa, that was the truth. It was big and delicious!!! My husband's burrito was also really good. Their mild tomatillo salsa went great with it. I also ordered a churro, even though to be honest I haven't REALLY enjoyed a churro since going to Brazil where they fill it with dulce de leche or other fillings, but again, it was delicious!!! It was hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect amount of sugar. Not at all dry and overpowered with sugar and cinnamon. My husband had heard this place was good and we were just passing through Beaver towards North Utah. I wish this place was closer to where I live. Service was great.....but the food was not good. There was no flavor in any of the food. Order the enchilada and Tostada plate with an Horchata. Able to taste the enchilada sauce was the from the can and it was only cheese, no meat option. The beans was super watery. The Horchata has been the worst drink i ever had. There was some other flavoring to it besides the cinnamon. My husband order the 1 taco and chicken burrito plate. The burrito just had unseasoned chicken and bell pepper, nothing else in it. This is such a great taco shop right off the I 15 freeway. I got some street tacos because I was hungry. Driving back from St. George. Great flavor the food came out hot. Popped in after seeing recommendations online that if u pass through Beaver you need to try Beaver Taco. A lot of reviews mentioned the Torta so i opted for the Abodabos? Torta. Omg it looked great, ive never seen or eaten one of these tortas before and it was awesome. I ordered a horchata and immediately knew when I tasted it that i hated it but sucked down the whole thing as i ate my order of 3 beef tacos with rice and beans. The hard taco shells were homemade and may have been the best hard shells ive ever had. They were a lil extra crunchy which had me wondering if they were made a day or so prior. My horchata wasnt full if ice and i wanted it full of ice so i went to the counter and told the woman who took my order that i didnt want her to think i was stealing soda so i was letting her know ahead of time that i was adding ice. She said "no, u got a horchata" i agreed and repeated that I simply wanted more ice. She reluctantly said ok and as i fill the cup with ice i thought i heard her telling another employee they usually charges a dollar?!?! I dunno but that interaction was odd. Best part of this spot is the salsa bar where there are 5-6 diff salsas with different heat levels all with little plastic cups and lids to get exactly which kind and how much salsa you want. The Carne Asada was pretty tender and juicy. The Burrito size is on the smaller size compared to SLC and for $10.85. Don't forget to ask for salsa, because they don't put any in the bag. The workers are very nice. Definitely will stop each time on work trips! read more

There is a sauce bar and sauce bottles available. Street taco carne asada: like the ones yo buy at the taco trucks with cilantro and onion Soft tacos are a little more Americanized. Lengua was a little bland but easy to chew. Shrimp is flavorful and salty. Jicama fresca taste like fruit punch, light, sweet, and fruity. They also sell T-shirts and candy at the front. We have been here before on our way home from St. George, and this most recent time we went was way more delicious than the first time! So happy we gave it another chance. The location is convenient for traveling because it's only about a minute off the freeway. We ordered 5 mini tacos (basically street taco sized) and 1 burrito, and shared it. We requested that they cut the burrito in half so we could share it, and they were accommodating. We went through the drive through, and it was a little slow. We were there for probably 20 minutes total. Price is reasonable. Overall, definitely a place we will come back to as we are passing through on road trips, as long as we aren't in a hurry. read more

Second time here and I was just as impressed today as I was 3 years ago when I stopped for gas on a 200+ mile road trip down I-15! We got the four main tacos (adobada, carnita, and chicken) and the chili verde plate.
