This isn't a fancy place. (They serve you in styrofoam to-go containers, even if you're eating in.) But the food is delicious, the portions are plentiful, and the selection is good. Plus, it's right off I-15, which makes it super convenient for travelers.

On a recent road trip from St. George to Salt Lake City we stopped at Beaver Taco 2, (not the free standing big restaurant -- the one inside the convenience store at the gas station/truck stop) So, I had read a few reviews and one person commented on the shrimp tacos so I gave them a try! I must say, the shrimp were tender, plump and perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious white sauce, which was very complementary; these tacos tacos were absolutely delicious! My husband had Carnitas tacos and he enjoyed them. Fresh cut ripe tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and lime. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped again on our way back!But this time, it was close to closing (a few minutes before 10 PM) but they were welcoming and took our order and made 4 tacos from scratch, and everything was delicious! Yummy horchata too! I'd definitely recommend stopping on your way between St. George and Salt Lake City for yummy tacos. I'm sure the rest of the food is very good as well but that's what we ate.

Quick Rating: Pulled into the Beaver Pilot / Flying J with my rig today. Found a rather hidden Taco Place without a direct entrance from the adjacent gas station. They look like they're doing some light construction, remodeling the place. I asked if they had any Al Pastor Tacos, and the closest thing they offered was the adobada. Close enough. So put in an order for 2 lengua (Beef Tongue) tacos and 1 Adobada and wasn't expecting too much--- being that everywhere you go in Los Angeles at night there's a taco stand in every curbside and corner. Here's the verdict: Portions were huge, which for the price to portion ratio, it made sense each taco was 5.00 versus LA Street prices 2.00-2.50/ per. The soft taco skin was corn tortillas not flour, and the beef tongues were leaning on the overdone side of the spectrum. It was good, just a bit overcooked. The adobada pork was marinated very well, like a Birria base but with pork. Enjoyed this snack. What really stood out with the tacos were the fresh tomatoes garnished with the tacos, the onions, fresh, and with the adobada, they even gave it a touch of guac to even out the richness from the fats. I want to recommend to everyone their Salsa Roja, if you are a true heat lover, love all things spicy, the Salsa Roja is a must try; the salsa Verde, I'm not too much of a fan, but I don't see why they shouldnt start selling Salsa Rojas in those Mason Jars. Very happy with my decision to detour into Beaver, take a break here and explore this establishment tucked into the corner of the gas station.

Great little spot out in Utah! Super fast and friendly service! I ordered the enchilada plate and an asada torta! Both were delicious!! The torta bread was so tasty and I got the enchiladas with both chicken and cheese. Definitely recommend stopping here.

We kept hearing about how amazing the churros at Beaver Taco were... so finally we stopped by to try them. The verdict: they are delicious. Particularly at their low price point. Also they have a drive thru and it's next to the gas station, so if you want a quick treat during your travels this is a smart stop. I also got a California burrito. Just found my new taco spot far away from home. Since I've been trucking for almost a week now, I've had the chance to try new food spots on the road -- mostly takeout, no sit-down -- and this place genuinely surprised me. The food was hot, fresh, and way better than expected. If I'm being honest, it was kind of a shocker. It's almost sad to say, but this was better than a lot of what I've had on my recent occasions in San Antonio. I stopped in quickly since we had to get back on the road, and from ordering to food in hand it took no more than 5-7 minutes. I ordered three mini tacos at $3 each, which is a solid price for Utah. I went with one carne asada, one lengua, and one adobada, all topped with cilantro and onion, served on fresh corn tortillas. The tortillas were soft, warm, and clearly made fresh. For salsas, I had two salsa verdes and one salsa roja. The salsa verde was classic and mild -- very fresh and flavorful, though I personally prefer it a bit spicier. The salsa roja delivered exactly what I was looking for with good heat and great flavor. I almost ordered tacos suaves, but I was really craving the mini tacos and I'm glad I went with them. Next time, I'll definitely try the tacos suaves. Everything tasted freshly made and not rushed, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is located inside the Flying J off Interstate 15 (Exit 112), and I was also impressed with how clean the Flying J itself was. Great service as well -- the guy at the counter was friendly and welcoming. This stop turned into a great meal and a new memory in the small town of Beaver, Utah. I'll definitely be back if my routes bring me through again. Highly recommend stopping by Beaver Taco if you're passing through.

When you see a sign on the highway advertising fresh tacos in a town called Beaver, who wouldn't want to stop by and check it out. I gotta say, I love me some Beaver Taco! This is a nice hidden gem just off highway 15 in Beaver, Utah. We were on a long road trip and stopped in for lunch. Beaver Taco has a nice selection of Mexican cuisine favorites including menudo on the weekends. Beaver Taco makes really good tacos. It's always a treat when you can find good tacos in a small town. The service was really nice here. I got me some pastor and carne asada tacos and enjoyed every bite. They also have a condiment bar if you want extra toppings for your tacos.

On a recent roadtrip up to SLC, I stopped by for a grab and go kind of dinner before heading to the Supercharger on the other side of the highway. Everyone orders the Breakfast Burrito, so why not? I went with the mixed which included eggs, cheese, potatoes, Bacon, Ham and Sausage. The burrito was the standard size and was folded well, so it held together through the entire eating experience. I asked them to put the red hot salsa inside to make the Togo just that much easier, but they failed to do so. Luckily, I asked for some on my way out. The burrito was pretty good and if traditional breakfast burrito style, but nothing I'd consider special. Their Red Hot Salsa was just that hot. Not so hot that it was unbearable, but hot enough to make your nose drip. The Pina Colada Agua Fresca was super sweet and almost syrupy. We ended up having to suck some down and then add some water to make it not so...

Second time here and I was just as impressed today as I was 3 years ago when I stopped for gas on a 200+ mile road trip down I-15! We got the four main tacos (adobada, carnita, and chicken) and the chili verde plate. All were good, although the tacos were more dry than I remember last time, the deep flavors more than make up for it. Just make sure you get the pico de gallo! read more

Coming from California, we were a bit scared of trying Mexican food anywhere out of state. But surprisingly, the food here was authentic and spot on. You can tell the tortillas are rolled and made by hand. And there are a variety of meats provided that are certainly cooked in a traditional manner. The salsas were also the right amount of spicy balanced with flavor. The employees were also very kind and helpful when it came to directions as an out of state traveller. They were also bilingual. The inside of the restaurant was also relatively clean. The interior might not be the over-the-top or fancy, but the food definitely makes up for that. 10/10 Abuelita Cuca would approve read more

Welcome to nondescript Beaver, Utah! If you're on the interstate and you need to satisfy that Mexican food craving, there's a little restaurant called Beaver Taco on the east side of the Interstate. Had EXCELLENT breakfast burritos coming through Beaver on our way north from St. George. Definitely worth the stop at this little place. read more

Just OK, to be honest... I did not have huge expectations for this standalone next to a gas station in this little town. The kids were hungry, and we didn't want to slow down heading for Boseman, MT... so we ordered up a couple of tacos (chicken and beef), and a bean/cheese burrito. About what I expected-- had all the right colors and components, but didn't wow anyone in the car with flavor. Spoiled in SoCal, I guess. Hot sauce helped, but really... hot sauce helps everything, right? Reminiscent of several hole in the wall taco places I have visited over my life, with plenty of bulk, and not enough flavor. Maybe great drunk food, but not anything to make a U-turn for. read more

to be fair, this is Utah and I am coming from California. But anyone who says this is similar or even okay food hasn't tried anything outside of jack in the box (may be worse bc it's more expensive). Avoid if you're looking for actual mexican food. read more

My partner and I travel pretty frequently from SLC down to Southern California and have never stopped here until today! Ordered a carne asada burrito and my partner ordered a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream and WOW! the carne asada was a 5/5 in an overall scale. The bean and cheese burrito was great aswell a 4.6/5. For a travel stop this is the best place to grab a quick bite to eat. I will be coming back when traveling and highway recommend this to everyone. Mind you if you order a carne asada burrito... it's only carne asada, pico and guac. Which there was beans and or rice but they were super generous with the portions for the price. read more

No flavor and messed up my order.... What more needs to be said. The menu states that the Taco salad comes with salsa so: "I'd like a chicken taco salad with no salsa please." ' It doesn't come with salsa ' "But on the menu it says it does" 'Oh that's pico de gallo' " Ok... chicken taco salad with no pico de gallo" And I got a steak taco salad..... Drink machine was terrible as well so don't get any drinks, not even water here. It may be 4 stars in a small town but anywhere else it'd be lucky to get two stars on a good day. read more

We've passed this town for years and never stopped. Then a family member recommended Beaver Taco. It has amazing street tacos, they said. They were right. Fantastic street tacos. I wonder if their hot sauce is homemade. Excellent flavor for all four street tacos. Yes, you want all four. Then you might want four more. The fish tacos were good as well but we both agreed that we'd order those street tacos again next time. Drive through was open and very busy less than an hour before closing. Well worth stopping here on your road trips. read more

I'm not sure if this gets one star for the name and two stars for the food, or two stars for the name and one star for the food. The name is great. Totally worth taking a picture next to their billboard. The food is unremarkable. The food is not bad, but it's not good. We've been there twice while passing through, and both times stopped to eat. The first time was to try it out, and the second time was because we brought friends so that they could say they ate there. You'll notice that the reason for going there and the reason for eating there don't really have much to do with the quality of the food. read more

We went here after running the Beaver Utah marathon. We loved the tacos! We got asada and chicken and both were great. We also got a taco salad that was fresh and a generous portion. The prices are very reasonable and the woman who took our order was really friendly. The decor is cute and the restaurant was very clean, can't wait to return next year. read more

Good portion for it's price. Ordered a tostada for $5 was enough for one person for a meal. Chimichanga was $10 and it was a big portion. We couldn't eat 2 tacos that was left. They have salsa but it's very spicy. The grilled chicken and steak were seasoned well and not too salty overall. Would definitely stop by if happened to be passing by. I wasn't really hungry, but the group I carpooled with wanted to eat. My go-to at a taco shop is rolled tacos, so I tried a few. The two giant burritos ordered by my friends came out first and it was a little bit of a wait, but these rolled tacos were fresh, hot, and delicious. The decor inside is fun. There are a few of those paintings you keep staring at and finding different things depending on how you focus. And they have some Mexican candy for sale at the register. I can't speak to the other food or drinks (like horchata), but if I stopped at the gas station nearby again and was hungry, I'd definitely stop again for some more rolled tacos! There's also a cute beaver wood carving out front that's fun to snap a pic with. read more

Excellent food. My wife and I had a beef and chicken enchilada with rice and beans. We were traveling at 15 northbound and needed a nice place to eat and happened to run into this place Beaver taco and we're pleasantly surprised with some of the best tasting Mexican food we've ever had. read more

Native Texan here. Never in my life did I think I'd go to beaver, Utah nor did I ever think I'd trust a taco place in beaver, Utah, but here we are! When we pulled up I was suspicious. It didn't scream hole in the wall amazing tacos at first. When we walked in, it was packed. Not a single open table. It's walk up service so you order your food and then go sit down. We waited quite a bit to receive our food but not a single thing was incorrect. Everything was amazing. Definitely not what we would get in Texas but dang it if it aint close! And the CHURROS. OMG THE CHURROS. If heaven was a churro, their churros would be it. read more

MY GOD the new crew is absolutely amazing! Especially the afternoon crew. There's this girl with i think braces and glasses; ABSOLUTE angel and because of her service I'm always tipping. She's like the Valerie's soul of the restaurant. I kid you not. She knows all her regulars order and is always serving with a smile. Also when she's working with whom I assume is her regular staff, you can always count on the condiment tables to be stocked, til it gets around the evening time. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty simple, nothing to extravagant, but it is welcoming nonetheless. The food? I mainly come here for the Menudo (the girl who I was just talking about will immediately know who I am LoL) but yes, the menudo. My homegirl told me about menudo, and now Valerie's is my plug for that. It's flavored to my liking, which I deeply appreciate. Do understand that sometimes you may get more bones and cartilage than the cow honeycomb tripe. So ask if you could not get that bones and stuff? I haven't, but I don't think it'll hurt to ask. I like the crew that makes my menudo, so I accept it no matter what I get. If you are drunk off your behind, then baby, come on down to Valerie's for some pretty okay food. I'm not a huge fan of tacos and such, but they're menudo is *chefs kiss* in my opinion. So I can only give my opinion on that. As well as the service. Don't forget to tip them! If a cashier remembers my order off the bat, that means 1, I'm a big back, 2, they are that versed in knowing what I want, and 3, I'm a big back. K bye!

Sydnee took care of us and was friendly from the moment we walked in. The restaurant is clean, the tables are tidy, and the bathroom was stocked with soap and paper towels. We ordered a California Delight Omelet for $13.95, Baby Cakes for $6.25, a Kids French Toast for $7.55, and the Timberline Burger for $14.95. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted really good. Our subtotal came to $42.70, and with tax the total was $46.22. For a family lunch on a road trip, the price felt fair for the quality and service.
