Our bodies fell into a sweet slumber in comfy bed at the adjacent sweet & historic Monroe Inn! Owner Ali remembered I wasn't fond of lights at night & unplugged the ones in backyard. For breakfast, oh my the crowning touch was Ali's resourcefulness to squeeze us fresh OJ because they had run out. The waffles and perfectly cooked bacon hit the spot. This is an adorable little restaurant that I suspect to be family run. It's decorated so cute and the staff is friendly-just like we were eating dinner in their home. Sometimes small town places don't have the best food, but this was an exception. I had a grilled chicken salad that rivals some other salads I've had had fancy restaurants. Truly, it was delicious. We're ready to conquer the trails after Mandi very generously offered all of our students and chaperones pancake breakfast. We probably wouldn't be able to keep doing these sorts of trips without support from our community. You can bet El Bambi has a customer for life in me, but I must tell you, the food was amazing.
