Side House Salad (60-360 cals.)
Theresa E.

Came back to black bear, it has been a while, we had an amazing breakfast! I loved the avocado toast so much! And we also had to have the country fried steak breakfast, it was so good. Will definately be back for breakfast. I think that was one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had.

We were the first customers of the day--not because we were hungry, but because we had an early start on the road . This cozy little spot has a charming log cabin vibe, and everything from the coffee to the breakfast (including their signature hot sauce) was spot-on. Despite the pre-dawn hour, the service was impressively quick and genuinely friendly. The sweet cream pancakes are a standout--fluffier than any I've had before, and absolutely worth trying while you're there. They've got locations in Colorado, Utah, and Arizona, so you've got options if you're traveling through the Southwest. If you're craving a "beary" good breakfast, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Bacon Cheeseburger Salad!

I've been on a bit of a Yelp quest to hit up as many diners as I can while traveling. First time at Black Bear Diner and it did not disappoint! I got a Bacon Cheeseburger Salad and the hubs got the Bear's Choice Breakfast. Both were delicious and no pun intended, but the portions were "bear-sized" ;-) Service was spot on, professional and quick! Will be back for sure!

Great meal!

Great satisfying breakfast here, service is great and the portions are huge! Really a great meal and very hard to beat!

I was genuinely impressed with both the food and the service at this restaurant. Our server was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and welcoming. The portion sizes were generous. I had the BLT, which was delicious, and my husband really enjoyed his chicken fried steak. The kids were happy with their meals too! It was a cozy, satisfying stop during our road trip. A great experience overall!

Cute outside of the restaurant!

I'm giving 3 stars because the Employees were nice. My husband had the pesto Salmon with salad and loaded baked potato. The Salmon was drowning in pesto, nothing like the picture, he said it was ok but there was to much pesto sauce! I had the surf and turf I received very well done Shrimps (3) along with hard jelly cocktail sauce. Cold and hard Mashed potatoes ( I asked for a new cocktail sauce and potatos) the Tri tip steak wasn't great but I ate 1/2 of it, I ate the shrimp and a few bites of mashed potatoes! I would never order that again! If I go back I think I'll stick to breakfast! I certainly wasn't impressed. The restaurant was decorated cute and the bathrooms were clean!

I haven't been a fan of Black Bear diners. We came here for Lunch. This location has got it down. Came in with some coworkers. The inside was decorated nice had plenty of booths and tables. Our waitress was awesome and took good care of us. They got the Tri tip dip sandwich and fries. I got bacon, eggs, and fries. I always order ala carte due to food allergies. We washed it down with some Huckleberry lemonades. It was great. I would come back here for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. I think the food and service were fantastic.

The Bruce's Meat Lover's Omelette with sour dough toast.

Eight of us for dinner at a big table in back room. All but one opted for breakfast for dinner. I had the meat lovers omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast, my 4 grandkids had pancakes, my bride had the tritip steak sandwich and daughter/son-in-law had breakfast as well. Portions are big and everything was mighty tasty! Service was outstanding and prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Black Bear Diner was a great choice for us and would definitely return if in the area again.

BBQ Ribs & Chicken Strips (1440-1640 cals.)

The food was good, service was great, prices fine. Unfortunately we were seated by a window that was covered in flies. Flies ruined my 40th birthday experience. I don't recommend this place until they figure out that problem.

It is spacious inside with large tables and a friendly, welcoming staff. I had a margarita with my lunch; only one though because I was driving. It wasn't strong but was tasty enough. The beers are mostly domestic with only one micro brew selection but there were plenty of national brand choices. The food was home made and not bad for bar food. I had a Pittsburgh cheese steak sandwich that I thought was good. I ordered it with a side salad instead of fries as I had also ordered the loaded Pastrami fries which came with cheese, pickles and mustard on top. It was a bit too rich and heavy for my taste and the flavors didn't really work well together. Maybe without the mustard I would have liked it more. Not a bad place for a rest stop or a reasonable local hang out as well with some decent food.

Waking up in the small town of Richfield didn't leave me with many breakfast options so luckily we drove by this McDonald's before leaving town. Like I just said like two sentences ago, I ordered the hot cakes and sausage breakfast platter with a hash brown on the side and it did the job it needed to do. The hash brown was crispy and good, the hot cakes were.....well, hot cakes, and the sausage was pretty standard for a McDonald's sausage. Overall, McDonald's breakfast is what it is. It's not winning any awards but the food is alright and the same can be said for the service. When in Richfield, this isn't a terrible option.

The cooks were singing the Spongebob song loudly. One employee named Michael was itching his junk and helping prepare the food. May I also add that he was not wearing gloves. They were throwing empty boxes all over the place and using profanity loudly despite there being families in the restaurant. I finally got the order after 32 minutes but they put it in a regular dine in bag. I had to ask them to seal it up in a doordash bag. The management was decent and apologetic but every single cook should be terminated. Very unprofessional.

I told her it was a first date and I was aiming to make it count. She didn't hide behind policy; she leaned in and helped me anyway. She went the extra mile and noted a table near the fireplace. That kind of touch means something. It's rare to find someone who helps set the stage for your evening before you even walk through the door. Laynee, you made a cowboy believe in smooth first dates again. If the steaks and service inside match the care you showed on that call, Steve's is doing things right... and I just might have a shot at that second date. Thank you.

The steak was not good. It was way too salty. We tried both the steak ends and the strip (I think…read morethey called it the Cowboy steak) and both too salty. The adult plate for the steak ends turned out to be as small as the kid's serving. We ordered "seasoned vegetables" as a side and it turns out that's just heated green beans probably from a can. The fruit side for the kids was also just canned mandarin wedges. The kicker is the entitlement to a 20% tip and the false claim that it was somehow a new mandated minimum, almost alluding or implying that it was a law or regulation. I tipped the 20% because I felt pressured to do so, which I regret. I usually tip 20% if service is good since I had friends and family in the restaurant service industry. But not being given an option and the entitlement mindset is off putting. Building is nice though...
