I stopped by this evening about 5:30 p.m. to get one of their famous fresh strawberry shakes, large. When she handed it to me, it just looked like vanilla ice cream. I asked if there were really any strawberries in it. She said yes, that it was all mixed in. I have eaten about 2/3 of it. All I saw was a few tiny specks of red but all I tasted was vanilla ice cream. I don't know if they put in a certain amount of strawberries, but I didn't taste any strawberries in it and I only saw tiny specks. You walk in and this place is spacious for a group setting. We were only here to try some ice cream. However, they do serve food. They had a lot of variety of flavors for ice cream including sugar free. They did offer free samples and I went with the chocolate with some vanilla with it? I can't remember the name now unfortunately, but ice cream itself was so flavorful! They also offer waffle cones which you can get up to three flavors. The size of this ice cream was huge. I'm still thinking about it... the lady who helped us out was very kind. The place was clean, I've got no complaints. While traveling from Buffalo to Las Vegas I stopped in the small town of Richfield to catch up on my sleep. Across the street from the hotel I was staying at was this cool little local spot known as Ideal Dairy. This place was not what I expected, but in a good way. This little shop offers fresh made sandwiches and ice cream all at a great price. I settled on ordering a Monterey jack chicken on a bagel with bacon, onion, and peppers and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert? (I had to get some dessert) I ordered some vanilla ice cream which came in a cup and it really topped the sandwich off, creamy and delicious. On top of the food and ice cream I ordered a "Juice bag" which is exactly what it sounds like, juice in a bag. This was the first time in my life I've seen small bags of juice so curiosity got the best of me and I ordered an orange one. This small bagged juice was tasty, and honestly pretty cool to drink. My family and I stopped here on our road trip-- my parents have been several times on prior road trips and raved about it, especially the milkshakes so I was super excited to check in out. Ideal Dairy is riding on the reputation, but is not keeping up with the original owners. When it started their ice cream could go cone to cone with BYU Creamery. Now all you get is Farr ice cream, they stopped making real ice cream. It is good, but not the same. Someone needs to tell them that a panini is not made with a bagel. I have had better salads at McDonalds and Wendy's. And can believe it, they don't have a hamburger. I hope the new owners take note and redefine the place and build on the legend, not bury it. First-time customer experience was good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. LOTS of menu items. I opted for the small salad bar and soup (Cream of Broccoli). Turned out being a Value Meal #7, which cost $6.99 for endless pop and salad bar. The salad bar was loaded with fresh ingredients and sides. Nothing massive but it hit the spot perfectly. The Cream of Broccoli soup, not so much. Flavor of my soup was not for me, keeping in mind I'm a fan of most Cream of Broccoli soup. More flavorless than anything for me. But like most anything in life, it's personal preference. If you eat at the restaurant, plates are cardboard'ish with plastic utensils. I'd imagine this saves overhead but for those keep the world green folk, they might not be a fan of this. I will return as I really want to try their sandwiches and ice cream! My only not so positive experience was two women that had about six kids between then that were allowed to run-a-muck around the restaurant. Each time someone enters through the main entrance, the loud doorbell rings. On a busy day, folks could find this a bit annoying. They do have a drive-thru window which kept pretty busy, too. There is free Wi-fi for those looking to surf while eating. Log-in and password were located within the restaurant. Interior had a nice vibe and tables had plenty of local advertisements on them. We had high hopes, as this place came recommended by our campground hosts. However, it was a huge disappointment. This has to be the most disorganized ice cream shop I've been to. First, we ordered 2 brownie sundaes and learned you only get to choose one flavor of ice cream for their sundaes. Second, our sundaes never came. They completely forgot about us and served everyone else who came in after us. Is it small-town favoritism? We're not sure, so we asked for our money back after waiting about 15 minutes. The person in charge-- if there was one, as it seems this place was run by teenagers-- did not even have the guts to come and address our issue. I love this restaurant and all the wonderful flavors of ice cream. Today though the service was deplorable. We sat waiting for them to take our order for 10 minutes, being the only car in their drive thru, and they walked right past the order window not once, not twice, but 4 times. We were about to drive way when we saw someone coming to the window. We thought, "oh maybe they are going to take our order." Nope, they didn't. Instead the employee leaned on the counter back to the window and started playing on their phone.
