Tiger Sugar finally opened in Seattle! Went to try it out and waited in a small line outside the small storefront to place my order. For many drinks, the signature black sugar syrup is artfully dripped inside the cup and milk tea is added to create a swirled effect. Ordered Black Sugar Boba Green Tea Latte with Cream Mousse - which apparently is one of the drinks that does not have the swirled syrup effect. Remember to mix your drink before you drink, to make sure the sugar is evenly distributed. Enjoyed the tea, but it was a bit too sweet because of the amount of sugary syrup that was added. read more

The boys needed boba, so we walked a bit to tiger sugar after seeing the good reviews on yelp. Our cousin got the brown sugar boba, so picturesque! My brother ordered the strawberry mochi. It included a mixture of pearls and jellies. He didn't know that the drink itself didn't include tapioca pearls (boba), so he wasn't particularly pleased. It was his fault that he didn't ask but ya know, what can you do now. The drink is very different than anything he has every gotten. Thankfully, Tiger Sugar offers milk alternatives. Tiger Sugar is your standard boba shop offering a variety of flavors with tons of modifications. It was pretty good, but to be honest it wasn't anything special. Given that Pike Place Market is only a few blocks away, it's worth getting food from there, since you can find boba shops like Tiger Sugar all over the country. read more

My friend ordered the Black Sugar Boba + Pearl Milk w/ Cream Mousse. I ordered a Black Sugar Mochi Boba w/ Cream Mousse. Boba texture was chewy but had inconsistent sizing, not sure if they make the boba themselves. Nonetheless, great boba! My friend mentioned her drink was too sweet. I found my drink to be a perfect level of sweetness, I thought the mochi boba was interesting but grew to love it. The texture reminded me of marshmallow fluff but not as sticky or sweet. Staff were nice and helpful. Ambiance and decor were very modern and clean. When you enter Tiger Sugar, there is kiosk for you to browse the menu, select your drink(s), and pay. Staff was able to answer my friend's questions with no problems! I would visit again but I would not go out of my way given it's in downtown and parking can sometimes be a challenge! read more

It's finally here! I first had Tiger Sugar in Vegas and I fell in love with it. My fave is the number 5, which is the Tiger sugar boba and pudding milk with cream mousse. It's slightly different than the one I had in Vegas but it's still good! There's still a line but the wait is not that long. Service seems to be pretty quick. read more

First time ordering from here, staff were really sweet and helpful. The drink I got was T8 it was good not to sweet only thing I would say to improve is the boba. It was not as fresh, the texture was not chewy tastes like a day old. Other than that I would definitely come back to try other drinks. read more

My first time here was for their Hello Kitty collaboration! I wasn't the first 10 for the free gift but I was able to get their bogo Hello Kitty Crush drink! The staff did an amazing job with this promotion. It couldn't have been easy with the line wrapped around and with little space to work with but they killed it. The first time I ever had Tiger Sugar was in NYC, and it blew me away with how good its brown sugar boba was. When I heard the news of Tiger Sugar opening up in Seattle, I was stoked. For around $14, we had ordered the #1 and #5 drinks. We thought that both drinks were delicious, and it was hard not to keep drinking more and more. The boba and other add-ins were a perfect combination with the milk tea. The only main different between the two were the toppings. Otherwise, the taste was overall the same. With how sweet the drink was (with it being brown sugar boba and all), I thought that the cup size was a good size. I would definitely recommend all brown sugar boba lovers to try this place out!! read more

I enjoy the tiger theme, ordered the #1 where the slogan is "brave like a tiger". Yes, it took a lot of bravery to get to the heart of downtown Seattle and attempt to find parking alright. But I went through that hassle because I remember having Tiger Sugar in Florida for the first time and how delicious the drinks were, was excited to get our first one here in Washington. Hopefully they eventually expand somewhere on the eastside. The shop is located right across from Target, you will have to either find street parking or buy something at Target to use their garage. It is a fairly small shop, not really any seating to hang out, more to a take out place. It's also not a standard for them to shake your drinks for you so make sure you shake it well otherwise you'll drink all the sugar at the bottom. Small bubble tea shop in the middle of downtown. There is no place for sitting. You place your order in a machine. I ordered a passion fruit with mango jelly and a brown sugar boba pudding milk with cream mousse. My friend says the brown sugar boba is legit! I would agree that it's the best brown sugar boba I had yet in Seattle. The passion fruit was good but the brown sugar boba was the star thou. Would come back. I got the number 2, loved the jelly, drink was decent, middle of the line. I had higher hopes for this place, but there's better boba in Seattle. It cost around $7.30 for the large size (comes in large and XL) after tax. I think getting the XL upgrade is a better deal tbh. Not too sweet, but not watered down. No seating area, small space to order and wait for your drink. I would stop by if I'm walking around and I come upon it, but I would not go out of my way to come back. read more

A new-ish boba shop nestled into the heart of Downtown -- I've heard great things about this store, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's important to note that it's more of a milk-based boba drink rather than one with tea. As someone who prefers a strong tea flavor, I didn't feel super strongly about the taste since it was more of a chocolate milk flavor. Which, if that's what you're looking for, is great -- but not so much for me. They have a pretty limited menu and you aren't allowed to adjust the sweetness for their core offerings, so I felt like my drink was a bit too much on the sweet side. I liked that they had the option for hot drinks, though! The boba wasn't anything impressive, and I felt like they weren't too chewy and just kind of fell apart. I'd give this place another go with the fruit drinks -- I had my eye on a mango sago one which looked tasty. For the price and the taste, though, I'm not sure this will be added to my normal rotation. read more

I used to live near the Tiger Sugar location in NYC, so as a fan, I was excited to see it come to Seattle! This time, we ordered the #1 (signature) and #5 (pudding and cream). Unfortunately, the boba didn't live up to it's NYC counterpart -- both times I went, the consensus was that it had a fairly standard taste and presentation, similar to what you can find from brown sugar milk teas at other boba shops. The toppings are fun, but other places have also started having a bigger variety of toppings, making this place feel more overpriced for what you get. On the plus side, it doesn't have the insane down-the-block lines like the NYC location -- service was very quick. It's a small location with a counter and no seating, but nicely decorated. Overall, not a bad drink if you're in the area and have a brown sugar boba craving, but in my opinion not worth venturing out specifically for. This Tiger Sugar is a small little spot--tastes just the same as the first ones in LA. There are no changes that can be made on the drinks (i.e. I tried to order double boba) but it's consistent with all other locations as well. I ordered the black sugar boba which is what they're known for. The drink it not too sweet & the boba is super chewy. Give it a try! The area is not the safest to walk around @ night, but that's pretty much all of Seattle. read more

After always hearing about Tiger Sugar, I finally tried it this past weekend since it opened downtown! It's not the most convenient location, given it's downtown parking, BUT you can park across the street at Target if you have some shopping to do there anyways and just get your parking validated there. Despite the "hype" this place gets, there was no line at all on a Sunday afternoon! Good thing though since this shop is SMALL. There's minimal space to line up and/or wait for your drink.. so don't plan to come to here to hang out and drink your boba! This location is definitely a grab and go place. Since it was my first time trying Tiger Sugar, I got the #1 (their signature drink - black sugar boba pearl milk), and my husband got #4 (their best seller - black sugar boba pearl coffee latte). I asked about adjusting sugar and ice levels, but I guess with those two drinks you cannot adjust either one. I was hesitant, as I usually lessen the sweetness and ice in my drinks, but thankfully the drinks turned out to be fine! I also don't usually get boba, but I enjoyed the boba in these drinks! They combine both regular sized boba with smaller sized boba, which was unexpected, but I actually liked! My husband and I both enjoyed both drinks - guess they lived up to the hype! ;) haha I plan to go back the next time I'm in the area, which thankfully isn't often since these drinks probably aren't the healthiest, and they're not cheap either! I got the L size, but I think the XL (which is the size of a regular bbt usually) was around $7.50! Go to Tiger Sugar for a treat yourself type of drink ;) read more

Finally they open a Tiger Sugar location in Seattle. I tried this many times in NYC and SF when I was visiting there. I stopped by to check it out. Small shop like most of their locations. It wasn't that busy which is a plus. I ordered there signature bubble tea. Which is #1 on the menu. They only have 5 drinks option to choose from. Got my order pretty quickly and taste good. Price $6 plus tax. Cheaper than a lot of other bubble tea shop. I will stop by every once a while if I happen to be in downtown Seattle area. read more

I stopped by tiger sugar the day after it first opened. You can tell they have just opened as the register wasn't properly working yet and using a phone for card payments. The menu is currently smaller than when I visited the NYC Koreatown location. Ordering is really quick and not too bad especially for a second day of opening. I got the coffee latte bestseller drink. If there was the ability to change ice and sugar, I didn't notice. There is a screen showing the last completed drink since most people were waiting outside. When I ordered I was number 213 and they were still on about 193. The drink was yum. It was the expected sweetness you'd expect for a standard sweetness. It came with two sizes of boba with the correct level of chewiness that you'd expect from a brand like tiger sugar. Hopefully they expand their menu later because there were drinks I didn't get the chance to try in NYC that I want to try. read more

I'd love to say this review isn't biased but I did wait 2 hours in line at their grand opening today just for a cup of boba. Got there 11:40, just in time for all the fanfare of ribbon cutting, lion dancing, speeches being made, etc. which was so fun but a bit excessive for a boba shop opening maybe (in the best way)?. Ended up being 78th in line so got a free little package of boba popcorn (???) too. It's similar to caramel corn. And the boba itself was naturally amazing. It's crazy aesthetic and I love that there's smaller boba in it too. I personally also don't mind a little extra sugar ever either so the sweetness was just the icing on the cake. Will definitely go back when the line doesn't wrap up and down the block and around the corner anymore. read more

I used to wait in 20 min lines at Tiger Sugar in HK. It was among the best in the city. I'm glad that the Tiger Sugar here kept the same quality, but perhaps the business model and location isn't the best, and the vibe is lost. This place doesn't get that much business, and it's a tiny shop along the main road where the harsh sun shines into the windows. I say Tiger Sugar is a must try for anyone who has never had it, especially their famous brown sugar boba. The servers are very friendly and I'd love to support them. I just think this place deserves a much better location. read more

This is THE place to go for brown sugar boba. The only issue is parking. They're located in downtown Seattle so it's a huge headache to find parking. Especially to pick up boba to go. Their store is small essentially take out only. But the delicious drinks are worth it if you're in the area. We made a stop while visiting Pike Place. I got the black sugar boba with pudding which was ah-may-zing. read more

Glad we tried this place! The menu had some really interesting choices, but I will say I found it relatively inflexible. If you want to customize your drink, you're kind of out of luck. That said they had some unique items I was excited to try, like lychee popping boba. It was really good but unfortunately about half the bobas were too big for the already-very-large straw. Overall a good experience and I'm glad we went but I'll probably stick to other boba places with more customizable menus in the future. read more

I ordered the XL #1 signature black sugar boba pearl milk. I like how it is milky and the black sugar mixed well with the milk itself. It comes with large bobas as well as mini boba all together in this drink. I think the cost came out to be $9 after tax. I thought it was quite pricey for boba milk tea, but I did ended up enjoying the drink. read more

This place was genuinely disheartening. I came here looking to quench and satisfy a great boba lust that I encountered wandering through the timeless streets of Seattle. I ordered a boba classic, "The Taro Boba". This was the most diluted taro milk flavor I have ever experienced. The bobas quality and all flavor was worse than a make it your own boba you can purchase on temu. I paid 8.57 for a watered down, sour, unsavory, unappetizing, inadequate excuse for a taro boba. If you are looking for any level of quality in your boba, do NOT go ANYWHERE near this place. This shi was BUNS!!!! I feel scammed, and will not be a recurring customer. I really liked Tiger Sugar in NYC but I was very disappointed in my drink at this location. I ordered the T5 Black Sugar Boba Black tea latte with cream mousse. Even though it was black sugar boba, the boba had no taste whatsoever and was too soft. The drink also was not creamy whatsoever despite supposedly having the cream mousse. The tea flavor was lacking as well. I probably will not return again as some friends have similarly not liked their drinks either on separate occasions from my visit. read more

Went to the opening around 6pm and unfortunately they ran out of the larger pearls, totally Ok since they still had the tiny pearls. Quite tasty. Finally got to try Tiger Sugar for the first time and my initial reaction is that it's pretty good, not great. I ordered the signature drink Brown Sugar Boba Milk + Pearl with Cream Mousse. First off, the milk base is slightly creamy but not super rich. Basically tastes like sweet milk with no real identifying flavor. The boba was weird because they varied in size. I had some very tiny boba pearls and also some regular sized ones. I'm not sure if this is how Tiger Sugar makes their drinks or mine just happened to be like that. The most disappointing thing was the lack of brown sugar flavor. I didn't get any taste of brown sugar - the drink just tasted sweet. Perfect amount of sweetness though. They only have L and XL size. I got a L and paid $6.56 in total after taxes. read more

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #118…read more Located across from Westlake Center, this is a full fledged Xing Fu Tang, complete with a bubbling black sugar boba wok and their signature fortune sticks. I especially love the menu towards the rear of the store that depicts all the drinks and whether they contain dairy or tea. Walking in on a Thursday evening right before dinner, it was surprisingly crowded inside. All the seats were taken and there was a small line waiting to order at the kiosk. Luckily the staff is efficient, and I had my drink within a couple of minutes. Taiwan Boba Milk Tea, Large, 25% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - Xing Fu Tang really focuses on two things: black sugar and milk. That focus is evident in this drink, where there's a strong mineral essence from the sugar, and somehow a really strong milkiness (despite being dairy free). The tea? It's an afterthought, with only some flat malty notes to complement the rich and sugary drink. With that being said, the drink is flavorful enough that I don't mind the lack of tea quality at all. Now the sweetness level could use some adjustment - the milk tea by itself is probably good at 25% but with so much of the boba marinade added, it goes up quickly. I might even order 0% next time. In terms of ice, they have less ice as default which I would consider similar to full ice at other boba shops. At least it seems that way since they used large cubed ice in their drinks rather than more typical chipped ice. This drink comes with boba. The boba is clearly homemade, being almost the same texture throughout, and is somewhat lumpy and cuboid in shape rather than perfect spheres. It marinates in the black sugar for a long time, rendering them superbly sweet and sticky. Unfortunately they are there for perhaps too long - at least when I visited, they were near the bottom of the wok. This means the boba is entirely too soft, with a single bite slicing through the sides of the pearl without too much resistance. They also tend to clump up, forming larger conglomerates that get stuck in the boba straw. While there's still somewhat of a bounce, it's noticeably less than perfection. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I visited again a couple of weeks later for the Oolong Milk Tea, to see if they could eek a little more tea flavor out of another kind of leaf: Heaven Roast Oolong Boba Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - This tea is a bit more flavorful than the regular milk tea, with a somewhat vegetal and earthy essence that kind of reminds me of Tieguanyin. There's even a slight drying astringency. I forgot to review my notes and ordered this at 50% sweet, which is way, way too sweet for my tastes. I'm definitely going to go with 0% if I visit again. The boba is the same slightly mushy texture as the last visit. At least they are consistent between visits? Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 So overall: the tea that Xing Fu Tang serves is alright, muddled but better quality than a lot of other boba shops. My niece suggested that we see if this place was actually Seattle Best Tea. The interior was crowded, so we thought that it must be a popular place. There were people standing in line and a small group sitting in the back of the shop. Service was efficient and polite. I was told that wintermelon tea cannot be served hot. That's ok... I've previously had HeyTea in their Bellevue location, so I expected more or less the same when I…read moregot to this one on a hot, sweaty Tuesday evening around 5:40pm. Because it was hot and sweaty, a big sea of people were waiting both outside and inside this place, and I saw only about 5 or so staff members making all the drinks. There's only two tables and two benches to sit at on the right-hand side of the place; otherwise, the rest of the space is behind the counter where all the drinks are made and the strong aromatic aroma of tea fills the interior. From my visit here, I think you can only place orders either through their lone kiosk to the left-hand side of the entrance near a corner, or by scanning the QR code at the front of the entrance and following prompts on your phone. Staff was too busy making drinks to take orders at the front counter when I was inside. Either way, you have to use the HeyTea app to scan a QR code (on the receipt you get after placing your order) if you want to see an estimate on when your drink(s) will be ready. By the time I signed up for an account and downloaded the app using the slow 5G, my estimated time was 25 minutes; however, the wait for my triple supreme matcha latte (with extra matcha, less sugar and all other things in their recommended settings) ended up being more than 45 minutes as I walked around the perimeter and waited inside and outside this location as well. It was really chaotic trying to get my drink once it was ready; people were cutting in front of me and others to show staff their receipt and pick up their orders even though I was in front of the line. Taste wise though, the matcha is a strong ceremonial blend with grassy tones that actually caught me by surprise. That's because they have a matcha cheese cloud which I thought would have dulled the matcha taste but it didn't! There's also matcha mochi and what tasted like matcha jelly on the bottom which further strengthened the earthy tones. Probably because it was really hot as of this writing, the ice melted much fasted than usual so that's out of this place's control and therefor doesn't detract from my experience itself. Wait here was really long for just one drink but I'm thankful there's something you can use to see when your drinks are ready - in this case, their HeyTea app. I would probably only come back if I was around the area, though wait times for drinks might deter me from doing so altogether.

We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
