Im a typical asian girl, i spent my high school years getting bubble tea once a week as a treat. Back then my metabolism was super fast so I didnt have to think about the calories. At 26 I can say its not the same and I dont enjoy wasted calories, so I only get tapioca in my asian drinks a few times of year nowadays. I saw the hype months ago when there was a 20 min wait for this. And obviously due to the situation now there was a 0 minute wait for this. I got their signature drink which is brown sugar boba pearl milk with cream. Apparently the little tapioca balls they call pearls and the big ones they call boba. Personally, I didnt care for the pearls at all as they were too small to add texture, and it was just unnecessary starch at that point. As for boba, it was very good and I can definitely tell it was better than boba at a typical bubble tea joint. Unfortunately the real reason i deducted stars was: 1. I really, really missed the tea. With the only flavors being milk, cream, and brown sugar, I found it to be quite sickly and unbalanced. I personally love the fragrance and flavor dimension of tea when I get bubble milk tea and its really not the same at all without it. 2. They dont offer lactaid or nondairy options-this is a little too much milk for 80% of asian stomachs 3. $6 for a medium drink that doesnt even include tea (well I am biased as I missed the tea flavor) is too steep for me. I can easily seeing you, the reader, giving this place 5 stars if 1) boba is what you care about the most when you get boba milk tea and you are a snob for its quality, 2) you dont mind the lack of tea if it means that boba is the star of the show. I finally made my way to Flushing today, and Tiger Sugar was among my planned stops. Maybe I was already late to the hype, the line wasn't long at all during lunch hour on a Sunday. I only had to wait less than 5 minutes in line and less than 5 minutes for my order.  You order and pay first, then wait around for your number to show on the display.  You turn in your receipt when you get your drink.  BTW, $10 minimum charge for credit cards. I knew it's a hype but I still had to try it once. For $6 the signature tiger stripe drink is really small (less than 12 fl oz), and the sugar/ice are not optional.  True I can definitively feel the extra milkiness but I'm actually lactose intolerant so that can't really be a plus for me. As you wait in line you're exposed to the elements. It's also just a hole-in-the-wall ordering stall, without any interior nor seating area to speak of.  So your only option once you get your order is to walk and sip while dodging the crowd in the busy streets of Flushing.  In my opinion, it offers minimal value, especially when there are 2-3 dozens other nice bubble tea cafes in town. At least now I have it checked off from my list...and don't get me wrong, the boba drink (no tea) was undeniably delicious, and the boba as addicting as ever. Came here with my friends due to all the hype I've been hearing. As usual there was a fairly long line but they have a good system going so it moves very quickly. I got the brown sugar boba + pearl in cream mousse which looked veryyy sugary too me but surprisingly the flavor was deeper and not overly as sweet. FINALLY got to try this famed bubble tea place - all because NY is on Pause which means NO LINES! This place is only taking cashless payments and offers limited menu due to the current COVID19 situation. I had higher expectation due to the hype surrounding it. To say the least, I was disappointed. There was very little difference in the taste from other popular bubble tea establishments/chains. The two points of downfall for this place come down to the unreasonably bitter tea masked with sweetening and the inflexibility for customers to choose anything other than 100%, 50%, or no sweetness levels. The bubble tea market is pretty competitive and customer satisfaction is key to repeat business, plus all other similar businesses offer either 20%, 25%, or 30% sweetness. All in all, their boba is consistently tender which is a welcome change and fun to try, but not when it's dropped in a tea that so impossibly sweet that it sickens me to finish. The hype was relentless, but it seems things have finally cooled off for the insanity that is Tiger Sugar. For the first several months, the wait time was anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. For this reason alone, many passed on the chance for what some folks call the best brown sugar milk tea in NYC. Flushing is already so crowded with so many other options, it's understandable. While I didn't share the same enthusiasm for long waits, I already knew what I was getting into after having enjoyed their product across several locations while traveling through Asia. I still did my share of waiting in Hong Kong and Taipei and yet the result was still always the same: tasty drink, kinda pricey, only wish there was way more of it. I appreciate that all the drinks come in hot or cold. Brown sugar as a prevailing theme might not initially sound like a great idea, but after a sip of drinks like brown sugar boba milk or pearl milk, skeptics soon become believers. The cream mousse is my personal favorite and I also like that they serve a few non-brown sugar oriented drinks like traditional black and green tea lattes. Nowadays, the lines are manageable and the staff seems to be more focused on making drinks than crowd control. Most of them are multilingual, which is useful for the Flushing crowd and the credit card purchase option is clutch. It's a rare occasion where I would order a drink and after only a few sips, I'm eager to toast it away. I came here on a rainy Saturday morning (btw, I love this kinda weather) and after finishing our early lunch, my cousin and I decided to check them out. Luckily their line wasn't too long because rain really does melt people away and we got our drink very quickly. They told my cousin and I that their most popular drink was their Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea with Cream Mouse. With that said, I order one for myself and for my cousin. We were both excited and the darken brown sugar melting on the inside of the cup which made it look really pretty. Despite the ice, the drink itself wasn't too cold when it was served and when I finally took a sip of it, I was thinking WTFFFFFFFFFF (in a bad way)! It tasted like I was drinking pure half/half. The tea was weak, barely any tea flavor and their boba was warm, which explained why my drink was luke warm even when it was served with ice. For me, the boba should at least have been room temperature before serving it to their customers. After a few sips, and forking over a good amount on the drink, I had no other choice but to throw it away. Will I make the line again for this?, I highly doubt it, this was very similar to a regular milk tea for me. My coworkers are raving about this boba joint and the long lines to order these beverages are ridiculously long. I've ordered from Tiger Sugar recently from the Manhattan Chinatown location. At that location, I waited approx 10mins to order and another 15mins to pick up. It's not bad of a wait for a Sunday around 1pm, especially considering my coworkers waited upwards of 45mins. I honestly didn't find much pro about their drinks. Very average. However, drinks are more enjoyable than the powered tea bobas from other establishments. The wait time to order on a Thursday around 11am is approx 4 mins and approx 3mins to pick up. Packaging/ graphics on the drink containers are very appealing and the plastic bag they give you is definitely included in the $5.50 drink ($5.99 after taxes.) VERY expensive in my opinion for a drink with almost 1/2 a container full of ice. They ran out of the pearl toppings (mini bobas) so I had to order with tapiocas (large bobas). Again, I didn't find anything special for me to write home to mom about. I gave these drinks two tries and I don't feel a need to return anytime soon. There was still a line when I went at 8pm but it wasn't too long. It's is a very small location with no inside seatings. I just order the popular drink on the menu. My friend came fairly fast. Shake it a couple of times before drinking it. It wasn't too sweet which I like. I had other brown sugar drinks before but this is definitely one of the better ones due to the sweetness. One thing I didn't like was the fact that it didn't have any tea in it. My friend told me after I ordered that I can order the one with the tea... will try it again another time. I LOVE the tapiocas. The texture is soft and chewy and wasn't too sweet. I like how it comes with the different size tapiocas. It is pricey for bubble tea. It's $5.99 for a regular size. Tiger sugar came to main street flushing with clearly a huge amount of hype evident of the insanely long lines that this place has. Is it worth the wait? To all my bubble tea lovers, the answer is YES. Maybe because I like - scratch that - LOVE bubble tea, this bubble tea was literally HEAVEN. IN. MY. MOUTH. It was also the time when Tiger Sugar JUST opened so my coworkers waited 2 hours in line for it AND lined up 2 hours again the following day because they loved it that much. When I took the first sip, I cannot tell you how every ounce in my body was lit up because it was THAT DELISH. I didn't want to finish the drink too quickly and wanted to savor EVERY moment of it. The drink I got was a combination of big boba and small boba so that was an interesting mix. The boba is also freshly made on the spot, hence why it takes some time to make the bubble tea and why the best taste is when you drink it immediately after it is made. The second and third time I tried it, I waited in line myself and the lines weren't as crazy. I believe it's also because they limited the number of bubble teas you can order. People have ordered 10+ at a time and the current maximum you can order is 4 drinks per person. One of those days, I did that that when I did not finish the drink immediately, the taste wasn't the same and thought it tasted a lot better when it was freshly made. I give this a 5 star because it is my favorite bubble tea right now. I would 100% recommend to at least give it a try even if there are people who do not think there is anything special. I don't think it's worth the hype. Line is rather long as it took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get our boba during Sunday noon. We got the brown sugar boba with pearls for $5.50. a little disappointed that there isn't the option to control the level of sugar in each drink as other boba shops around give you that option. My friends and I finally tried Tiger Sugar today! The sun rays were blazing HOT and the staff was really nice to give out umbrellas for the customers to borrow while waiting on the line. The rumors are true that there will be a line and the wait fortunately was only 30 minutes thanks to a heavy flash rainstorm that swept through as I was still enroute via subway. These two were basically the same thing, the pearls were just smaller versions of the Boba. After you receive your order, don't forget to shake it a little bit before consuming (after all of the photos for the gram of course), otherwise you're going to get a real sweet sip from the bottom of the cup. TLDR: The original brown sugar boba shop to hit New York. Go during off hours to avoid a terrible wait. It is good but on the sweeter side. So after watching nonstop pictures of this brown sugar phenomenon - I had to finally try it. Both times I waited but not terrible, 5 minutes during the week and about 15 to 20 on a weekend. There's been a line for this spot since it opened. I finally decided to see what the hype was about and waited about 20 minutes to get my very own Tiger Sugar brown sugar boba milk with cream mousse. It's a milk drink with dark brown sugar syrup and tiger stripes formed as a layer of sugar coated on the inner side of the cup. No other bubble tea shop I'm aware of has this flavor. It's super sweet. It reminds me of the milk leftover in a bowl of frosted flakes. It's not any more expensive than the other bubble tea shops. I don't think I'll understand why the line for this is so long. The price is actually quite cheap, the drink itself was pretty good, but for that crazy line it wasn't worth it. We came near closing and the line was only about half as long as it normally was, so maybe that's the secret to getting this drink. We got the standard brown sugar boba milk tea and it was decent. Came here after a big rain and had to wait about 20 mins to order and get my drink! I ordered the brown sugar boba w cream, which is the bigger tapioca.(I did not know there was a smaller tapioca option cause I ordered quickly, didnt want to be one of those people holding up the line) Drink came out so pretty. Shook it up as instructed- The drink was honestly pretty average. I think I prefer yifang's cause they have softer bubbles. The bubbles here were kinda hard, not chewy. Had a great brown sugar flavor but was a tad too sweet for me and I love sweet things. I dont get the point of the cream mousse because I feel like after you mix it up, you dont really taste it- but maybe it makes it creamier! I did try the brown sugar pearl w cream mousse at the brooklyn location later that week and I much prefer prefer that version of the drink. I've never seen such a line for a bubble tea place let alone wait for it but damn that brown sugar pearl with cream mousse IS IT. Tip, be prepared to wait. And accepts cash and credit card. People buy these in bulk. Literally in multiples. The fervor is insane. For bubble tea! There's not enough that can be said of how smooth the drink is and how lightly sweet it is despite all the brown sugar. It just goes down like buttah and this stuff is addicting. The pearls are perfectly chewy with large and mini pearls inside. No customization. You get it as is. Rarely will I write this many words for bubble tea but here they are. People waited for 1-2 hours for a bubble milk tea. Why? I had 30 mins until I was supposed to meet someonel so I joined the queue which attracted quite a few stares from passerbys wondering what the line is for. Meanwhile I ended up waiting for less than 30 mins -- not too bad but still thinking it's crazy. [waiting at the start of Popeye store is ~30 mins]. Amazingly next to this store was another tea place that was relatively empty except for the folks who probably didn't want to wait in this line. When I reached the front, I received a menu from an employee. After glancing over the menu even though it's one page it's quite a few choices. I asked the guy what are the popular drink -- brown sugar boba + pearl milk with cream mousse and brown sugar pearl milk with cream mousse. When I got to the window, I asked for Brown Sugar Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse ($5.50 + tax $0.49 = $5.99). There were no customization. Though with the number of employees it is amazing the process is not more efficient considering most people order the popular drink. It took less than 5 minutes though at the time they ran out of pearls and had to make some more which added to the time -- it did not take too long. After receiving the cup, the pearls at the bottom were warm mean while the top was cold. It was highly recommended to shake the cup 15 times to ensure all the flavors are mixed well. The pearls were small and soft. Overall the drink was pretty good: it's not sweet, smooth almost like butter. Before you think the hype died down after I got my drink I saw the line was passed Popeye's. If you want to try and don't want to wait, I would wait until the hype is less. Enjoy! read more

Saw that the line was short during a midday downpour so decided to hop in line to see what the Tiger Sugar craze was all about. I didn't have to wait too long for my order (about 15 minutes?) and only had to wait about 5 minutes or so to get my order after ordering. Honestly, maybe they were rushing out the orders or something but my drinks didn't look like all the pictures at all. All the sugar was just kinda sunk to the bottom...bummer. The mix of tiny pearls and regular sized pearls was interesting. I prefer the tiny pearls though. Taste wise...it actually reminds me of caramel milk tea. The foam part (imo) didn't really add anything to the drink. Not too sweet though so I could've definitely finished one on my own. But for $6/drink, it's totally okay to share one. read more
