You know it is bad when the first pictures on Yelp you see for Tiger Sugar are of the ridiculous line. I waited 1.5h+ once during the first week of them opening and I told myself, I can never do this again. IMO, not worth the time. The wait made me into someone I did not like to be. I was staring down every person who seemed like they were cutting the line. The drink itself was delicious. I loved how creamy it was and the brown sugar caramel flavors gave it the perfect about of sweetness. They use Horizon milk, which is the gold standard of milk these days. I get the hype now!!! Ever since Tiger Sugar opened in Flushing about a week ago, there have been long lines of people waiting to get a taste of their drinks! This place just opened so the wait time is a bit crazy. I stopped by around 8PM and was around 20th in line. A lot of people in front of me ordered 6-8 drinks each, so it took quite a while. I waited about an hour until I got to the register. My order came out relatively quick (less than 5 minutes) because I didn't order too much. I got two Brown Sugar Boba + Pearls Milk with Cream Mousse and one Brown Sugar Black Tea with Pearl. The Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse was super smooth. I expected it to be really sugary because of the brown sugar but the drink had a taste of brown sugar - just enough for you to enjoy it without being overwhelming. The boba and pearls were the best I've ever tasted from a boba place - chewy and sweet! The drinks were so good and definitely worth the wait!! The sign on the storefront says it closes at 9PM, but there was still a pretty huge line at 9PM. Just wanted to give a huge kudos to the hardworking staff that kept taking orders and churning out drink after drink!! Gosh, it's really hard to review this place. First of all, if you can avoid coming here until a few months later, do that, because right now (July) the line is a little bit too long. It's a fairly well organized line, but this area is a little bit too crowded in general, because it's right next to a bus stop. Additionally, it's a little too hot right now to wait in line, since it's like 30 degrees every day now. Luckily, there is this employee that offers people in line umbrellas to borrow in order to shield yourself from the sun. The menu here is actually really small, and people here really only come for one thing: the brown sugar boba milk with cream mousse. I was surprised about this, because there actually is no tea in the most popular beverage... it's funny because most people would probably classify tiger sugar as a 'bubble tea' or 'boba' place. The brown sugar boba milk with cream mousse is way too sweet. I really don't know if this works, because while I like sweet stuff, sweet things are much better when it's cold. The weather is too hot right now, so it impacts my ability to handle a drink with this much sugar. It's nice, but I could only finish about half of it. The line for this boba shop was literally insane. We waited over 30 minutes to get boba here. The boba itself was really good and chewy and I loved how they have small boba mixed with bigger ones. Good, yes. Amazing? No. It's overhyped, but still a solid choice for quality boba drinks. I would place it at 4.5 stars but since there aren't many American shops that do a good job at milky brown sugar drinks, I'll round up! The drink itself delivered on the flavors and the gram I was expecting, and since we got it less sweet, the drink wasn't cloying or overpowering. They normally allow 4 drinks max per person but since they had problems with importing/ shipping, they only allowed 2 max. I would say that because of the hype I expected it to be AMAZING. i normally take forever to finish my drink but I finished my drink from here really fast, even though I thought the drink was alright (which was really weird to me). Tried their most popular drink, the Brown Sugar boba and pearl with cream mousse and it was an A- for me. But the drink is still in the A range for a few reasons. The drink consisted of 1. Organic whole milk! This is rare, since most spots use powdered milk, so A+ 2. Soft, warm, almost gooey tapioca! This is also hard to come by, so A+ 3. Mix of large + small tapioca (boba + pearls)! The alternating textures were delightful! so A. 4. A warm bottom :) I presume this meant the boba was fresh. It was nice to know that the drink was freshly made, especially since it's sorta pricey, so A. The slight letdown: The drink was not as caramel-y and rich as others described it. I was expecting more. I mixed the drink with my straw a few more times, but maybe there wasn't enough of the brown syrup in my drink. It tasted like whole milk + brown sugar. This is obviously what the drink is, but I was expecting more than something I could've made at home. It wasn't too sweet and the "cream mousse" part was hard to differentiate. After everything gets mixed, the drink was not outstanding. However, it was still very good and well made, so I did enjoy my drink :) Also, I felt for $5.50-$6, the cup size could've been a little larger. We waited in line for about 30 minutes before placing our order, and waited about another 10 minutes before getting our order. (The person in front of us ordered about 10 cups.) I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba Milk w/ cream mousse and he got the Brown Sugar Boba + Pearl Milk w/ cream mousse. The only difference is the toppings. "Boba" is the typical tapioca balls you would expect. "Pearl" is the mini tapioca balls. It took several Yelp reviews and pictures for us to figure out what the difference was. The drink tasted just like how it sounds.. brown sugar and milk. There was nothing too special about this overhyped boba shop.
