Their signature fresh boba is what makes their bubble tea stand out from the rest--the "bubbles" are made from cassava starch otherwise known as tapioca pearls or balls--soaked then cooked and sweetened in a brown sugar syrup. Here they have a whole wok full of these, and they're super soft, incredibly chewy and bouncy, on the sweeter side compared to some other chains, but not too cloyingly so. My son recommended i get a drink here on a hot day, and I got my Ube boba milk, no ice , less sugar in large size to share, it was delicious and all gone in no time. Servers were all behind the counter and very busy filling orders for people who ordered in the store, with apps, or called in? I stood on the order Pick-up line then asked a customer who directed me to the back of the store to the order counter. I guess the servers were okay, my order was taken efficiently, had to wait a while for my drink but not due to slow servers, they were very busy, the customers were helpful answering my questions. This place used to have my heart, but not anymore. The staff really lack communication skills. I ordered chrysanthemum tea ahead through the FanTuan app for pickup, and when I arrived at the time the app said my order was ready, it still wasn't done. When it was finally finished, they didn't even bother to call my number--the drink just sat there on the counter waiting until I asked for it. This happened two days in a row. Xing Fu Tang have my default topping Chinese herbal grass jelly 涼粉 (loeng4 fan2, liang2 fen3) listed on their menu which lured my visit. My drink was full of lime, honey and herbal grass jelly. I actually taste honey and the flavor of jasmine. Customer service is attentive to explain the less sugar content. Do not expect there to be any seating. Napkins embedded with their name and logo for branding are available for grabs. The wall is adorned with Chinese hand calligraphy with the traditional red seal stamp - beautiful. As I waited for my order to be fulfilled I took one fortune. It is very easy to obtain. This Chinese fortune sticks (Kau chim 求籤) from flat sticks inscribed with text or numerals in a Buddhist temple. It evoke memories of my beloved family member who treks to a Buddhist temple obtaining annual fortunes for our family prior to Lunar New Year. They make the bubbles right in front of you, stirring them in with brown sugar in a big pan in the front of the store with the glass windows. They also offer ice cream which I have had several times - the soft serve brown sugar bubble tea. I have also had the pleasure of trying their Dalgona coffee bubble tea - highly recommend! It had the perfect texture and just the right amount of sweetness. It helped give me the right amount of energy without making me jittery. Xing Fu Tang is a narrow bubble tea shop with long lines that often extend out the door. The place is usually loud and crowded, which can make for a bit of a hectic experience. It took about 10 minutes to reach the cashier, who was super nice and informed me they have non-dairy options, which was great to know. I ordered the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea with oat milk and a regular Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea. Both drinks easily rank in my top five favorite bubble teas ever. The oat milk blended perfectly with the brown sugar and bubbles, while the bubbles themselves were soft, chewy, and freshly made. I only wish they would open a store in Brooklyn! It's so good that I find myself craving it often, but Flushing is just too far for a regular visit. Still, if you're in the area, I highly recommend giving Xing Fu. read more

I didn't get to visit when the hype was at its peak, but I couldn't pass by without reminiscing being jealous at all of my Queens-area friends lining up for their fresh pearls when XFT had just opened. The cauldron of boba stewing in brown sugar was a lot less lackluster than it appeared in the pictures back then. But I could appreciate all of the sweaty workers rolling out new boba pearls, boiling them, and churning them in the sugar on this extremely hot summer day in July. There were so many options that looked tasty, but I opted for the original brown sugar boba. The shop is such an awkward set up. It's so unfortunate that they weren't able to get a bigger store front, as the amount of real estate that goes into just the workstations for the making of the brown sugar boba topping is already equivalent to the size of the whole shop of some other boba tea places. The drink itself was fine. The boba was extremely soft but not mushy, and I can see why they would stick to the tedious work of rolling out fresh pearls inside the store. The milk was just regular. I think most people are coming to get the taste of the fresh brown sugar boba. The soft serve was selling like hotcakes because it was so hot outside. My boyfriend and I always walk by this place so we finally decided to check it out. We got two large drinks that totaled to $18. I got their brown sugar milk tea and he got the oolong milk tea. I know they are known for their brown sugar milk tea but we actually enjoyed their oolong best. Xing fu tang is a notable boba chain which is quickly expanding in NYC. They're very well known for their brown sugar bubble milk tea which is usually my go to. However this time around, I decided to try out one of their fruity drinks and went for the green grape aloetini drink. This drink comes with aloe bits. Overall, refreshing and definitely could taste that they use quality tea. The one thing I'd say I dislike is the fact that a size upgrade is $2 which seems very steep. The prices of the medium drinks aren't cheap either with most of them costing at least $7. I'd say it's definitely on the pricier side for the size of the drink. They were also doing a cute promotion where if you buy a drink you can get a free snoopy patch which I thought was so fun. Service was nice and we got our drink very quickly after placing our order. The bubbles were soft and chewy probably because it's made fresh daily but the brown sugar flavor wasn't as strong as I had thought it would be.
