The pork bao was PHENOMENAL! The meat was so tender, fell apart in your mouth, and was absolutely full of flavor. I asked for no peanuts and I bet it would've been great with them as well! Also got the cod bao, and it was aaaaaamazing, the pork was still my favorite though. Also the best brown sugar milk tea i've have here on the west side. I got 100% sweetness level and was SO yummy! I ordered the Kalbi Beef and Pork Belly Bao as a snack in the afternoon while doing work. Both were a bit underwhelming, and for $10, it was honestly a bit disappointing. The bao itself tasted like it was frozen and then re-heated, so it wasn't fluffy like other bao. The pork belly meat itself was good, but I would pass on the kalbi meat. I tried this place yesterday and I have to say, I'm definitely a fan! They have boba, rice bowls, pork belly baos and a variety of snacks. What more could you want? I got the 2 for $10 bao special (cod + pork belly) and the cod was crispy + juicy and the pork belly had just enough fat. I likely would not get them again as I personally didn't like the proportions of the bread to the filling but I also just like smaller buns! My friend got the limited edition beef noodle soup and although their pickled vegetable was better than hardwok, she said it took a definite second place. It's really about the aesthetic, and Tiger Bites under delivered on the actual taste of their dishes. The staff were incredibly sweet and nice, and made sure after to see if we enjoyed our meal. We got the pork belly, char siu, kalbi, and cod baos, so we could try a little of everything. My fiancé really enjoyed the cod and I loved the kalbi one. The pork belly and char siu were both so underwhelming, and not a great taste. The buns were too thick in proportion to the filling as well. We got the garlic string beans which had a nice heat to them and were cooked to perfection. I'd love to give them another try and perhaps try some other dishes out soon. read more

Was in the area and wanted a place where I can grab a quick snack and a bubble tea, so this sounded like the perfect place. Service was friendly and quick. I was the only customer at the time. I ordered the Thai Chili Chicken (a special I saw online; it's the popcorn chicken with Thai chili sauce), Traditional Pork Belly Bao, Nori Fries, and Grapefruit Green Tea. The Thai Chili Chicken said it came with Thai chili sauce and the online pictures showed chili peppers, but the chicken did not come with any chili sauce or chilies, just cilantro and some fish sauce. The Traditional Pork Belly Bao was pretty good, bigger than I expected. The bun was soft, and the pork was tender. The Nori Fries were average, not as crispy as I wanted and thought it would be. My favorite out of it all would be the Grapefruit Green Tea. I got it with tapioca and 30% sugar, and was just yummy! It had fresh grapefuit in it, and tapioca was good. The popcorn chicken was one of the best I've had. Extremely juicy and tender chicken with lots of flavor for a good price. I also loved the fries. It's been a few months since Tiger Bites opened, and I finally got a chance to visit! They specialize in bao, boba, and other Taiwanese snacks. Brown Sugar Fresh Milk Boba: 4.5/5. I got recommended this drink by the friendly cashier. I really love the outstanding brown sugar taste! I forgot to adjust sweetness level down, but it was still just that good! The drink was smooth, fresh, and well-balanced. The tapioca pearls were bouncy and cooked to perfection! Tiger Fries: 5/5. Yes, yes, yes! This was my favorite thing here. Each fry is the thickness of McDonald's fries, but so much more crisp and with a meatier bite. They fries were covered with a mix of cheese, green onion, sesame, sauce, tomato, and sliced beef. This reminds me of the Animal Fries at In-N-Out, but way more delicious and with an Asian flair. The fries also had a special salt and plenty of fragrance that made them good on their own too! Traditional Pork Bao: 3/5. There's ample amounts of peanut powder on this one. I also really like the kick that the cilantro and pickled veges give. The pork, however, was a little dry. And I wish all the pickled vegetables weren't just hidden in the back because I didn't get the taste with every bite. The bao wasn't bad, it's just nothing special. For two adults and two kids, we spent over $60. This price would be good enough for a nice dinner at a decent Chinese restaurant. We ordered a crispy cod bao, a pork belly bowl, a five-spice popcorn chicken bowl, tiger fries, and a crispy chicken steak bowl. The taste of these dishes was far from authentic Taiwanese flavor. I don't mind non-authentic Taiwanese food as long as it tastes good. They tasted just okay, not bad. However, the amount of food was disappointing. After we ate all the food, we were still hungry. The Tiger Fries was not good as I had expected. The topping kalbi beef wasn't well marinated, so the beef was quite smelly. The place was a self-service cafe restaurant, so we had to serve ourselves, which was fine. However, the restaurant didn't fill up the water dispenser when it was empty. This is a great addition to the neighborhood, serving Taiwanese bites! My friend and I came here for dinner and we were glad to see there was no line, as we anticipated there being one since Tiger Bites just opened. Especially since the space is small - it may be difficult to get a seat if it gets busy, but fortunately, we arrived right before the dinner rush 'cause shortly after, every table was filled! We ordered the Crispy Cod Bao, the Pulled Beef Bao (the pork belly one was sold out), Tiger Fries and the Five-Spice Popcorn Chicken. Plus, we both checked in on Yelp for our free bubble tea! It was more than enough for two people! Once you order at the front, you're handed a number and a server delivers your food as it's ready. The food for the most part, was solid. The Crispy Cod Bao was disappointing as it was super bland and the portion of the fish to the bao bun was not nearly enough, but the bao itself was sooo good. I could've eaten the bao on its own. The Pulled Beef Bao was much better, as it had a distinct flavor and the meat was tender. The pulled beef is also what tops the Tiger Fries, as it's served like a poutine, with the fries smothered in pulled beef, onion, tomato, celery, seaweed and spicy mayo, and is seasoned with Italian spices. The employee who helped us with our order mentioned it was her favorite and it was my friend's, too. But the fries for me were A-OK. The fries were too skinny, so couldn't hold up much of the toppings. And they were super salty from the Italian spices. Spicy Mayo was a nice touch, but couldn't taste the seaweed at all. The Five-Spice Popcorn Chicken was my favorite of what we ordered. It seemed that dark meat was used for the popcorn chicken, so was juicy and tender, and loved the hint of spice on them. I also really like that you can customize your bubble tea here because I prefer mine without sugar, which they can do for you. Everything was just too salty for me. I don't think I needed all that salt as it's sooo bad for your health. Didn't finish my crispy fried chicken plate since it was salty. The nori fries were also disappointing as it was just salty fries sprinkled with nori furikake. I thought it was a special type of nori fries. Anybody can sprinkle furikake on fries...now that's not hard to do. The pork belly plate was just okay for me. It was very interesting as this place got busy during lunch hour. Maybe most people enjoy their desserts and specialty boba drinks. I didn't take notice what everybody was ordering. First time visit here. Had a high expectation but ended up it's just overprice Taiwanese snacks here. I understand the new construction, Bellevue location and everything but still........ here are the reasons and some comparison. Popcorn chicken rice bowl- The popcorn chicken bento is $11.95 which is $2.50 more expensive than Tapioca express's chicken steak bento. (Which is only 5 mins away from tiger bites) The sides that come with bento are pretty much the same. Maybe tiger bites' side is slightly better but definitely not $3 worth for that difference. Popcorn chicken here is pretty good but Tapioca expresss' is still better. Pork belly rice bowl- We also order the traditional pork belly rice bowl. $11.95 as well. The pork belly is not fat enough to me, most of it are "lean meat". Me personally like fat part a lot ( also fat part is the point of the "pork belly"). I never try Tapioca express's pork belly rice so no way to compare with this food here. Pork belly bao- About the traditional pork belly bao, nothing look like the professional photo they post on the yelp. The meat is really small piece and cost you $5.95 before tax and tip. Overprice again. Facing east' bao is better. Bubble tea and vanilla bao- These two might be the only reason if I ever come back and visit this store again. Milk tea and boba is good and the vanilla bao is unique and special. I don't see same kind of dessert at other place so it's good! Bubble tea is $4.50 and vanilla bao $5 which are acceptable. Overall, food wise, not bad. Portion wise, good amount of portion. But with the overprice pice, hm........ might just go to Tapioca express instead. More options at Tapi and only 5mins away from this plaza. Same good food but lower cost. Dining environment wise, tiger bites do have fancier decoration but a little bit too crowded. I would say I would only visit again if this store open at less Taiwanese food area like Kirkland or woodnville. The store: semi-industrial modern, metal chairs, reclaimed-looking tables, metal bins with napkins and tableware. Clean but small. Super crowded, and noisy. Open kitchen looks a little disorganized. Par for the course. The food: big Asian flavors, a mix of Taiwanese and Korean influences, with a bit of Thai as well. Bao (rice bun) sandwiches, rice bowls, salad bowls all with the same protein selections: crispy chicken bites, crispy cod, pulled beef, and pork belly. Peanut, kimchee, miso, seaweed flavors make an appearance. I like the food menu's focus. Beverage selections are mostly tea oriented, but a bit confusing. French fry and green bean appetizers. Bits and bobs. All good. The service: awkward counter service. You are handed a menu and told to come back to the counter when you've decided. If you don't decide immediately, it's likely that you'll have to stand in line twice. Plus, if you chose a seat, you may lose that too when you go up to order. Best know what you want before you arrive, and bring a friend to save your seats. That's the worst bit. You are given a table marker with your order number, and you wait. The staff doesn't their best to accommodate you, and service is prompt, although the server shouting your order number over the din is a bit annoying; I recommend they invest in numbered placards servers can read at a distance. Better (much better) still: table service. Soft opening leeway, plus great flavors and concept equals my enthusiastic recommendation! Plus different items like dessert baos and loaded fries. In the name of "science" I ordered the Tiger fries, popcorn chicken, traditional pork bao and the char-siu bao. Snagged a milk tea too because of the special soft opening offer. My favorite item was definitely the popcorn chicken. One of the best for the area, as they were well spiced and crispy. I also liked the fact they used dark meat, since white can dry out really easily. The baos averaged out to being ok. The traditional had thick slices of soft, braised pork, but I found the peanut topping to be a little too sweet for me. The Char Siu one was a little bland, especially in comparison to everything else. Inside seating is pretty limited so it's not the best for sit-down eating. I came here for lunch on a weekday. We had a large group of about 10 people, and fortunately they were able to arrange a long table for us to sit together without too much of a wait. They are having a "grand opening" offer, so when we ordered our food (if spending over $10), we each got a free popcorn chicken. It came with a small side of green beans, potatoes, veggies (corn, peas, carrots), fried egg, and on a bed of steamed rice. Last but not least we tried the vanilla fried bao ice cream. So good! You'll love it if you like fried ice cream desserts. But let me advise you to share this with another person...because you might hate yourself if you try to eat by yourself. Saw this place on someone's social media feed and knew I had to come try it out with a couple fellow foodie friends of mine. When we got to the shop we were immediately greeted by the cashier. She helped us through the menu noting that she knew it was our first time there. She gave us a ton of recommendations and was pretty patient with us when deciding. The tiger fries, cuttle fish balls and fried tofu made it to our top three picks amongst everything that we ordered. The tiger fries was a twist on carne asada fries; popcorn chicken, tomatoes, onion, celery and this creamy chipotle sauce was laid on top of a bed of fries. (Yum!) The fried tofu was absolutely yummy and came with this dipping sauce that was so good! The cuttlefish balls were hot, and by that I mean you can taste that they weren't just reheated. We also ordered three drinks and an order of the regular popcorn chicken (extra crispy) and they were okay, it wasn't the best by any means. As for the baos, which they are pretty much known for, they were good. We all got the taiwanese pork belly bao and DAMN they were thick. Really big pieces of pork belly topped with pickled mustard greens, cilantro and crushed peanuts. They might have gone a little too heavy on the peanuts because it was a little too peanutty for our liking. Overall I would say this is a spot that you have to try out if you're ever in the area, nestled away in a shopping plaza it's a place that you'll probably miss if you're not attentive. It's always nice seeing a new Taiwanese restaurant pop up in Bellevue. Tiger Bites has warm cafe feel while serving up modern takes on classic Taiwanese favorites. We ordered the hot grass jelly ($5) and the matcha bao ($5). We each also got a free, regular sized boba with a Yelp check-in! The hot grass jelly came out nice and steamy. The portions are big and they are very generous with the amount of toppings. The matcha bao consisted of a fried bun stuffed with matcha ice, red bean, and condensed milk. While the bao was too dense for my taste, my friend who ordered it thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't know if it's because I haven't had milk tea in a while, but the milk tea was really good! I liked how the staff asked for our preferences even though it was free with the check-in. I ordered it with less ice and less sugar. The milk tea had a strong tea taste, just how I like it, and true to order, it wasn't very sweet. We came minutes before closing, but the staff was really friendly and welcoming. I could actually make better bowl of rice, and everything was really so-so other than the popcorn chicken. We didn't try their bubble tea, but since there's a Coco in downtown bellevue, I doubt I will go there for bubble tea in the future... I also liked the popcorn chicken and the string beans. I thought both were well seasoned, but i also don't like food on the salty side so maybe it will be too light for you. Checked out Tiger Bites today since it was right by my go-to dry cleaners - it's located in a plaza so lots of parking! Inside is small but clean and modern and at opening there weren't any "lines" so they got my order out to me pretty quickly. I got the pork belly lunch which comes with three slices of juicy, fatty pork with rice, bean sprouts, pickled veggies & an egg. At $11.95 it's a little spendy considering other TW places have just the pork and rice for around $6. I do like the additional sides though, but they're not substantial enough to double the price. That being said, everything was good with the highlight being the pork belly of course and it was pretty filling. I also got a brown sugar milk tea at 50% sweet (which was actually plenty sweet) although the boba was a bit al dente for my taste. The lunch orders before 2pm come with a free black/green tea which was full of tea flavor! Overall, it's solid but not somewhere where I'd "crave" to go to per se. Came here for the first time, missed the soft opening (free boba tea with any purchase). I ordered the tiger fries with spicy popcorn chicken , the chicken was sooooo juicy and tender, and with the hint of spice on there gives a great flavor on top of it. The combination of popcorn chicken and skinny fries were absolutely amazing. The bubble tea isn't really that good, the tapioca is kind of low quality but it didn't really fact my experience there. Overall, it was a great spirits and I would love to come here frequently for lunch. I strongly recommend everyone to come here and try the five space popcorn chicken with fries. read more

Eh. This place is alright. I met up with an old friend here and there was limited seating and the portions were so small! We had a late dinner so I was already hungry and ate beforehand. I ordered the pork belly bowl and was still hungry after I finished the whole thing! And it was $13. I don't think it's worth it. Especially since the pork belly bowl came with super cheap sides: corn and carrots, pickles, and bean sprouts. I'll be more willing to come back if I know you get more for your money! read more
