I went to Amas Chicken and it was sooo good--I can't believe it took me this long to finally visit. It's a fusion of Cambodian and Chinese food, and everything tasted amazing. I got the plate with both fried chicken and boiled chicken. The chicken was super flavorful on its own, but the sauces really took it to the next level. My favorite was definitely the spicy chili sauce--it was so good. I'll 100% be coming back.

So glad I finally got to try A Ma! Came by at lunchtime on a Sunday and waited in line for 5 minutes before we got seated. Service was efficient - the food came out quickly and the servers seemed attentive. The store itself wasn't super large but they were able to fit a lot of us in there. Parking was easy in the big plaza lot. I got the combo chicken plate, and everything tasted really fresh. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the batter of the fried chicken was crispy and surprisingly yummy. Both paired so well with the two tangy sauces the dish came with. The included broth was very comforting and wholesome. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that I wish we got just a few more pickled veggies. I definitely recommend this spot - there's a reason it's so popular!

Came here at 3pm on a Monday and was immediately sat, whenever I would pass by during lunch time there would be a line out the door. The space is well decorated, this is one of the few Cambodian restaurants I've tried in the Seattle area. Easy parking in Redmond Town Center. At the table it looked like you can order by QR code but the waiter was nice and came over to take my order. The food came out so quickly I was shocked at their speed! The dish is so well presented on the tray with the fresh greens on the side, two sauces, soup and then the main chicken/rice dish. There are additional chili oil, scallion oil and ginger/scallion oil on the side of the table. The chicken was so moist & tender. The sauces and chili oil gave it a kick I was looking for so definitely recommend it. 10/10 recommend, tasted and felt like comfort food, will be back.

This was my first time trying these dishes, and I really enjoyed them! The restaurant is super cute and the employees were very nice! It's a smaller restaurant and has a very cozy feel. We ordered the combo chicken rice and kuy teav noodle soup. I really enjoyed both! The food was mild in flavor and easy to eat. Like others have said, I think this would be the perfect meal to have when you're sick or low energy! I don't know how it compares to other similar restaurants, but I know that I liked it! I would definitely come back again!

Seriously glad Redmond town center has this place because it SO delicious and simple! It's one of those places I don't even care about the decor because the food is so good. I love their chicken and rice, you'll probably enjoy crispy more but both are good- and generous portions. I love the soup, taste so flavorful. I especially love the pickled garlic that's on each table. I love everything I've tried here. The service is typically quick. Coming back asap.

Great Cambodian restaurant for chicken/rice dishes! I had their combo chicken rice dish and it was very delicious! It came with steamed and fried chicken. It also came with sauces, broth, veggies, pickled veggies, and well seasoned rice. The steamed chicken went very well with their dipping sauce. The were two kinds; one salty/sweet, and one that's like spicy fish sauce (my favorite). The broth was flavorful and the seasoned rice was so good. The service was good. The server quickly took our order and the food came out pretty quickly. After they delivered the food, there wasn't much service afterwards. The ambiance was good. Nicely decorated inside. The place was busy on a random Thursday afternoon, so I'm guessing this place is popular. Definitely would come back!

Fantastic chicken rice place! Chicken rice is one of my favorite dishes and I love finding a good spot. Would recommend ordering the poached chicken here (as is typically recommended), but we tried the fried chicken as well. The fried chicken was just a little overcooked and dry, but the poached chicken was amazing! Note that the chicken flavor in the rice is slightly weaker than some other chicken rice restaurants, but I think they do this because if you add any of the sauces they provide it really brings it out (plus you can always use some of the soup if you want) so you can season it to your taste. Their sauces are great, as well as the toppings that come on the side (e.g. fermented green garlic, chili oil, etc.). Generous serving of chicken as you can see from the picture! There can be a wait (we waited about 15 minutes to be seated at dinner time on a weekday), but they have a tablet with the Yelp waitlist in front so if the wait is long you can put your name down and go do something else.

We dropped my husband's car off at the shop and ended up nearby, so we looked up places to eat and I'm so glad we found A Ma Chicken Rice . I was craving something simple and comforting, and this hit deep. Their chicken and rice instantly took me back to my childhood my grandma used to make chicken and rice with hot oil and scallions, and this felt just as nostalgic. The chicken was insanely juicy and tender, and the portion was HUGE for $19.50. Honestly, my husband and I could've shared one plate, but we each got our own (no regrets ). It also comes with little side dishes like soup and pickled veggies, which made it feel like such a complete, thoughtful meal. The condiments deserve their own shoutout warm, fragrant, and tasting like they were just made fresh. They really elevate the dish and make the simple chicken and rice shine. That's the star here, no question. They do have other dishes and drinks too crispy chicken rice and some soup dishes I already want to try next time. Service was good, and while the space is pretty small, it fills up fast. We came right when they opened and it still got busy quickly. If we lived closer, we'd be here all the time. This place is a must try.

came by around 12:30 on a sunday and waited about 50 minutes but the wait was so worth it and there's enough to do around to kill time! the food came out within minutes and everything was perfect. the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. I got the crispy chicken and the crunch was just right. the sauces also paired so well and the broth had a nice flavor. portions are also very generous. would definitely come back again

It's 11am on a Saturday, they JUST opened, but it's already SO busy with patrons and pickups -- and for good reason! I tried the other dry noodle dish Kuy Teav Kouk and I think I may have a new favorite! The broth is so light, fragrant, and rich with flavor. The flavor profile is so savory, tangy, and umami. I love adding extra ginger scallion oil and pickled garlic. Portions are generous! The vibe feels a lot faster-paced than when I've been here last, but it's a lot busier than last time! Service was super quick and convenient I'll certainly be back again!

I don't usually do take out but I was in a rush to get to an event so I decided to order pickup on DoorDash. It was super quick and convenient, my food was ready in 10-15 minutes on a Friday evening. I was so surprised that the food still tasted super fresh and delicious even with takeout. It tasted exactly like when you dine in. I write this because at some restaurants, food tastes very soggy during takeout but at A Ma Chicken Rice, it tasted really fresh! Their combo chicken rice is delicious. You can't go wrong with fried and boiled chicken in one dish. You really get the best of both worlds! Always love dining here whenever I'm in the area. Staff and owner is so friendly. Highly recommend dine in and takeout!

This place was just ok for the price. Food came out quickly. Mostly self service: order via QR code, get your own takeout boxes, pay on the app. Chicken was tender, rice was dry though. Sauces were good. The garlic on the table was a little musty so just check before adding a bunch to your food.

Solid chicken and rice spot. My hubby and I have been on the hunt for a good chicken rice spot in the PNW. Have we found our holy grail? Not yet. But is A Ma worth the visit? 100%. Cons: Chicken didn't have much flavor. Needs the dipping sauce. Good: Rice and soup were delicately seasoned, preserving natural flavors of the chicken and aromatics. Chicken was tender and moist. Great: The dipping sauce is addictive! Recommend!

Although we didn't order any dishes that made use of the advanced tabletop, I still think it's so cool! Despite the tables also having a digital kiosk, I appreciated how they still handed us actual menus and manually took our order, both of which are becoming less common these days. Our group started with some hot tea and ordered three dishes which was the perfect amount to share. We loved each item and I enjoyed tasting the various banchan side dishes (included with most main menu items): broccoli, traditional kimchi, omelet, potato, salad and kimchi cucumbers. I can be picky about kimchi, but this one had an ideal balance between tartness, spice, slight sweetness and umami. Their kimchi cucumbers were also a hit as they were refreshing with a tantalizing heat. + SEAFOOD PANCAKE ($25): My first time having a seafood pancake and it won't be my last! It was hot right off the pan with a crispy golden exterior. The seafood included baby shrimp, baby octopus and calamari. It seemed like the portion of seafood was reasonable since I had some in almost every bite, however I don't recall seeing much shrimp... mostly calamari and octopus. They added a lot of green onion, which I personally liked as it gave the pancake an element of freshness. This came with a side of soy dipping sauce, but I enjoyed it as is. The portion size was generous for the three of us. + KIMCHI BEEF TOFU SOUP ($22): This soup was basically a comforting hug in a stone pot. It arrived at our table, still bubbling, with a small bowl of rice. While there wasn't a ton of beef in the soup, the pieces were lean and tender and there was enough to split between the three of us. I loved the smooth silky tofu, and the kimchi gave the soup a little tang. Adding a scoop of rice into my personal bowl and pouring the soup on top made for perfect bites as the grains absorbed the broth. We requested a medium spice level which was just right for me. + HOT POT BI-BIM-BAP w/ CHICKEN ($25): You can't go wrong with this dish! Carrots, radish, zucchini, bean sprouts, spinach and a raw egg topped the bed of rice along with our protein choice of chicken. We stirred in the egg immediately and I enjoyed all the fresh vegetables in the bowl. The chicken was delicious as well and seemed to have a slightly sweet marinade. The best part is the little bites of rice that crisped up against the side of the bowl, adding some toasty notes and texture. We forgot to drizzle on some of the red chili sauce provided with the dish, so I'll need to do that next time! The three of us had a terrific dinner here and the service is so kind. We were checked on three times, which surpassed my expectations. We came for an early dinner on Sunday, so it was relatively quiet, even shortly after 6:00P. Even if the restaurant was full, the tables are spaced comfortably apart and I noticed they even had a separate section that is walled off for a larger group. Parking is also easy, running right alongside the neighboring walking trail. Needless to say, I'll be back!

I got the combo - Hawaiian chicken + karaage requesting extra salad instead of rice, as well as a half order of loco moco. It's nice that there is half order as a lot of Hawaiian restaurants tend to be full orders so it is incredibly hard to try a variety of options if you're solo or in a small group. The Hawaiian chicken and karaage both are juicy and delicious. It's great that the combo is the same price as the standard individual options so I got to try more variety without paying extra. I looked at the reviews and opted to remove the rice and get extra salad which was a good move - their chop chop salad is very delicious with a nice balance of dressing, cheese, and ham. I still had some rice from the loco moco, which was sufficient for me. The loco moco is good - I wished the patty was a bit less tough but the gravy and egg make up for it. Overall, great value and great food. I'd be a regular if I didn't live so far from Kirkland (1 hr drive for food can be challenging in busy schedules)

There is this weird little strip along side the street that is two rows of parallel parking and then there is this tiny garage with a limited number of retail parking spots. May the odd ever be in your favor. Atmosphere: Very open dining area, the food seems much more upscale than the place itself, though the interior is still very modern and very cleanly. The floor is interesting: it seems to be comprised of large sand granules so it appears very porous. Lots of windows so the area is filled with natural light during the day. Service: EXCELLENT attention to detail. Before we stepped foot in the building, the table was already being set up for us, high chair, kid's dining sets and all because we were seen walking towards the entrance through the windows. We also observed another table's high chair from a previous party being meticulously wiped down and inspected by a server--this NEVER happens at restaurants to this level of detail. I was very impressed. I also appreciated the fact that the utensils included in the napkin consisted of: spoon, knife, fork AND chopsticks. It's rare to have a place offer you the full selection of utensils let alone a fork and chopsticks together--usually it's one or the other! Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, scan the QR code at your table for the menu, order at the table, check brought to you. Kid Friendliness: plastic cups (open cups, no lids or straw) and bowls; disposable plastic utensils. Clean high chairs. Menu: item names, descriptions and some photos via digital menu with QR code scanned at your table. In case anyone is wondering, the coke served here is Mexican coke (the best kind). But it's strange no soft drinks are listed on their menu at all. Pumpkin Crisp: this is so addicting. It's like upscale bougie sweet potato fries. There is a gentle crisp of the salted egg that compliments the soft fluff of the pumpkin. I highly recommend it. Chicken Xiao Long Bao: They were sadly out of the pork when we went. Not as soupy as I was expecting it to be but each one is PACKED with meat, leaving little room for soup. It's not a baggy sack of meat, it's a meaty bag! Corn Rib: corn on the cob that has been cut into quarters lengthwise and covered with cheese (we requested non-spicy so we had a cheese option). A novel way to have corn cut and eaten this way for us. It was tasty nonetheless and not overly salty. Stir Fried Green Beans: your typical garlic salted plant noodles, haha. Not overly salty and is a great compliment to protein dishes. Cooked just right and not overly dry or chewy -- just the right amount of snappiness to each bite. Gold Medal Stir-fried Beef: Wow this is so good. The beef is thinly cut and tender. It is a little on the salty side so best paired with rice or a neutral dish. I love the crunch the celery and onions give -- I ended up packing every last piece as leftovers so I can mix it with rice later.

On the inside, I thought the prawns were cooked well - they remained pretty soft and didn't appear overcooked I did feel like the spice was pretty much missing, though. I ordered 4/5 stars, but it tasted more like 1/5 stars as there was a pretty significant lack of spice that took away from a lot of the flavor potential. Speaking of the missing flavor, there should've been a lot more sauce added to this dish - either poured on top of the prawns or the prawns come sitting in it. The benefit of this is that it you can mix everything with the rice - and this sauce coats the rice to make it taste good. The way it's currently presented, the prawns are too large to really eat with the rice, and mixing the two will just result in eating the meat and taking another bite of plain rice because there isn't enough sauce to coat the rice. This dish just ended up being eating the prawns by themselves - the rice wasn't super useful As a result, after finishing I really wasn't that full For the price (around 20 ish) there are a good amount of prawns, but I wouldn't really say you're getting a good deal here

The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. I left feeling so full, but so motivated to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Kedai Makan continues to chug along as a cap hill staple. There are lots of hits on the menu, so I…read moream here to give some recommendations. The roti jala is an always-order, and great for sharing. The laksa is really good, and a great option for vegetarians. I personally like the nasi lemak, but just be careful not to add all of the chilis they provide you, as that can really overwhelm the flavor of the dish. The nasi biryani is good -- the beef rendang is wonderfully flavorful but not the most tender rendang I've had. Portions are satisfying, thankfully, since all the entrees are about $20 and up. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Food comes out quickly and you feel well attended to here.
