I just found my favorite way to eat Hainan Chicken. A Ma is known for their Hainanese chicken rice and Cambodian noodle soup. This place is almost always packed and for good reason! It goes without question that their Classic Chicken Rice is insane, but my standout was their Crispy Chicken Rice. Wow. I didn't know this could exist, but I'm so glad that it does! A fried indulgent version of the cult classic. Everything is served on a bed of chicken-fat-infused rice and comes with sides of broth, pickled veggies, and sauces. So good. If we lived here, this would make it's way into our monthly or even weekly meal rotation.
Love me a good chicken rice and this place hits all the notes. Great portions for the price too! We came for lunch as soon as they opened and got seated right away. Definitely come early to avoid the wait but it's near H Mart and Tous Les Jours if you want to grab some coffee or do some grocery shopping while you wait. It's a small menu which I truly appreciate. I ordered their classic chicken rice and loved it. The salad on the side was unnecessary but I'm happy to eat some greens with my meal. Try not to sit by the door if you want to avoid the cold draft whenever someone enters or exits the restaurant.

This place has a good hainanese chicken, and their bone broth was surprisingly good for the price I honestly didn't think it would this much meat. We ordered take out which came out in good time. They're definitely popular since when I got there it's pretty full.
A treat! Beautifully cooked poached chicken, highly flavorful broth, deliciously seasoned rice. Even the little dish of pickled veg was wonderful. A fabulous plate of food! I liked the spicy sweet sauce best, with added ginger and chili. I wasn't as crazy about the crispy chicken, I think it needed seasoning. That said, I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back. I may try one of the noodle bowls next time as they looked great on neighboring tables.
I really liked this spot! I didn't realize it was so popular too. I came for lunch on a long weekend and we had to put our name on the waitlist. The inside isn't too big but there are plenty of tables, and we waited around 15 minutes before getting seated. I got the combo chicken rice plate, which came with half poached chicken and half fried along with rice, soup, and some veggies. The poached chicken was absolutely perfect - it was so tender, soft, and juicy. I don't know how they got it that texture but it's amazing! The crispy chicken was also good, but a tad on the drier side. I also enjoyed the sauces they came with. The soup was comforting and clean and the rice was fragrant as well. Overall, highly recommend if you're craving hainese chicken rice!
We got here around 6:15 on a Friday. The place was packed already. You can add your group into the waitlist with the iPad outside of the dining area. After 39 minutes, we were seated. Ordering is done via your phone camera and WR vide on the table. We ordered the classic chicken and rice plate as well as the A Ma dry noodle bowl. The chicken plate had chicken that was cooked well and was not dry. It just didn't have any taste. The rice has more seasoning than the chicken. The dry noodle bowl was good and had a bit of spice. Not really going to come back. Lots of other food I rather eat
Their Classic chicken rice is one of my favorites in Seattle. Perfectly cooked. If you like fried chicken, you can get to combo and it comes with both types of chicken. I'm traditional so I prefer just the classic. They also have noodle soup options as well if you're not a fan of chicken and rice.
I went to Amas Chicken and it was sooo good--I can't believe it took me this long to finally visit. It's a fusion of Cambodian and Chinese food, and everything tasted amazing. I got the plate with both fried chicken and boiled chicken. The chicken was super flavorful on its own, but the sauces really took it to the next level. My favorite was definitely the spicy chili sauce--it was so good. I'll 100% be coming back.

It includes a side of pickled veggies and soup, both of which I thought were quite tasty. We also tried the kuy teav noodle soup $19, the only noodle soup on the entire menu. It comes with rice noodles, ground pork, shrimp, pork liver, heart, meatballs, and sliced pork. All of the ingredients were fresh, though the sliced pork was a bit too dry. We ordered our food using the QR code on the table, so there wasn't much service. I really like that you can join the Yelp waitlist online, which worked out perfectly since we were only a few minutes away. It gets quite loud during the lunch hour, but overall, the food was tasty and I'll be back. It's already a regular spot for my husband since it's close to his work, but this was my first time here and I will definitely return more frequently.
Great place when you're craving Hainanese Chicken. I had the combo chicken rice, which comes with your lighter Hainanese chicken and fried chicken. The Hainanese chicken was so tender and almost pure. It had depth and complemented the chicken fat infused rice. It's a nice balance and you can dip sauce into it if you like more intense flavors. I also liked the fried chicken because it had more texture to a tender dish and I found it nice to go back and forth. We also tried the noodles and it was decent and had a slow burn (spicy) to it but i like the rice dishes the best. The combo chicken was more than enough food for me - I left very full. Ambiance is casual. We arrived on Friday around 6:45pm, and joined a waitlist of 9 for 2 ppl. We waited about 25 minutes for a table. You sit down, order via QR code, and food comes out! Service was decent - nice and friendly and attentive - it's not a place where they'll wait on you regularly but it's also not that kind of setting. Parking is either on the street or in the H Mart complex parking lot. All in all - great eatery

I did grow up eating it but the two friends I visited did one of Singaporean the other is Chinese but was born in Malaysia. They have very high expectations for this dish. I've probably had it at four other locations around greater Seattle. The rice and broth are the best part here some other places the rice has been to wet and the broth hasn't been as flavorful. The ginger scallion sauce and the pickled garlic are wonderful accompaniments. Couldn't get enough of that garlic. Also appreciate the pickled veggies that come with the dish. We also ordered a bowl of the pork broth to share. The space is bright and clean. Love the antique items and the items that represent the owners culture. The dishes came out quickly. Service was fine not above and beyond but attentive as needed. Portion was generous, would return when in the area.

Service was efficient - the food came out quickly and the servers seemed attentive. The store itself wasn't super large but they were able to fit a lot of us in there. Parking was easy in the big plaza lot. I got the combo chicken plate, and everything tasted really fresh. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the batter of the fried chicken was crispy and surprisingly yummy. Both paired so well with the two tangy sauces the dish came with. The included broth was very comforting and wholesome. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that I wish we got just a few more pickled veggies. I definitely recommend this spot - there's a reason it's so popular!

It's a small restaurant with nice decor, it can get packed easily so be sure to expect a wait. Ordered the chicken rice and I was blown away by the portion. It was very filling and delicious, I could barely finish it. I also tried their noodle dish and that was also great and very flavorful. The chicken was succulent and tender. The broth was also delicious. I think I prefer the fried chicken but I do highly recommend trying both. I think service could be a bit better, some of the waiters seemed to have an attitude, not sure if they were overwhelmed by the amount of people but overall the food is great. read more
Small restaurant near downtown Redmond that specializes in Hainanese chicken rice and a type of Cambodian soup. No frills interior. Pretty busy on a weekend night, and there was a wait. Pretty simple menu of their specialties, and some beverages. For the chicken rice, you can get classic, crispy or combo (half and half). I got the combo chicken rice. Portion was okay, although I feel like you get a slightly more chicken if you just order classic or crispy. The classic chicken tastes authentic, has the smooth slippery skin, but does need the dipping sauce or some of the ginger scallion oil for taste. The crispy chicken is okay, nothing that special about it. The rice was a little less flavorful than expected. The set also came with pickled vegetables, a salad, and some soup. Was served in reasonable time. The combo plate was $21. For Seattle area it's not expensive, but food in the area is just expensive in general. Maybe Hainanese chicken rice isn't my favorite thing, but it was just okay for me. read more
Really satisfying chicken rice in Redmond. We ordered the Combo Chicken Rice, which comes with both poached and crispy chicken, fragrant rice, pickled vegetables, dipping sauces, and a light chicken broth. The combination is exactly what we wanted -- you get the tender, juicy texture of the poached chicken alongside the crispy, golden coating of the fried chicken. I especially liked having the different sauces to switch up the flavors, and the broth was a nice addition to the meal. The portion was generous and the whole plate felt like a very complete, comforting meal. This was my mom's first time trying Malaysian food, and she was definitely impressed. The food also looks as good as it tastes -- the combo plate is definitely worth photographing before you dig in! Came here at 3pm on a Monday and was immediately sat, whenever I would pass by during lunch time there would be a line out the door. The space is well decorated, this is one of the few Cambodian restaurants I've tried in the Seattle area. Easy parking in Redmond Town Center. At the table it looked like you can order by QR code but the waiter was nice and came over to take my order. The food came out so quickly I was shocked at their speed! The dish is so well presented on the tray with the fresh greens on the side, two sauces, soup and then the main chicken/rice dish. There are additional chili oil, scallion oil and ginger/scallion oil on the side of the table. The chicken was so moist & tender. The sauces and chili oil gave it a kick I was looking for so definitely recommend it. 10/10 recommend, tasted and felt like comfort food, will be back. read more
This was my first time trying these dishes, and I really enjoyed them! The restaurant is super cute and the employees were very nice! It's a smaller restaurant and has a very cozy feel. We ordered the combo chicken rice and kuy teav noodle soup. I really enjoyed both! The food was mild in flavor and easy to eat. Like others have said, I think this would be the perfect meal to have when you're sick or low energy! I don't know how it compares to other similar restaurants, but I know that I liked it! Seriously glad Redmond town center has this place because it SO delicious and simple! It's one of those places I don't even care about the decor because the food is so good. I love their chicken and rice, you'll probably enjoy crispy more but both are good- and generous portions. I love the soup, taste so flavorful. Great Cambodian restaurant for chicken/rice dishes! I had their combo chicken rice dish and it was very delicious! It came with steamed and fried chicken. It also came with sauces, broth, veggies, pickled veggies, and well seasoned rice. The steamed chicken went very well with their dipping sauce. The were two kinds; one salty/sweet, and one that's like spicy fish sauce (my favorite). The broth was flavorful and the seasoned rice was so good. The service was good. The server quickly took our order and the food came out pretty quickly. After they delivered the food, there wasn't much service afterwards. The ambiance was good. Nicely decorated inside. The place was busy on a random Thursday afternoon, so I'm guessing this place is popular. Definitely would come back! read more

Solid chicken and rice spot. My hubby and I have been on the hunt for a good chicken rice spot in the PNW. Have we found our holy grail? Not yet. But is A Ma worth the visit? 100%. Cons: Chicken didn't have much flavor. Needs the dipping sauce. Good: Rice and soup were delicately seasoned, preserving natural flavors of the chicken and aromatics. Chicken was tender and moist. Great: The dipping sauce is addictive! Recommend! read more
Fantastic chicken rice place! Chicken rice is one of my favorite dishes and I love finding a good spot. Would recommend ordering the poached chicken here (as is typically recommended), but we tried the fried chicken as well. The fried chicken was just a little overcooked and dry, but the poached chicken was amazing! Note that the chicken flavor in the rice is slightly weaker than some other chicken rice restaurants, but I think they do this because if you add any of the sauces they provide it really brings it out (plus you can always use some of the soup if you want) so you can season it to your taste. Their sauces are great, as well as the toppings that come on the side (e.g. fermented green garlic, chili oil, etc.). Generous serving of chicken as you can see from the picture! There can be a wait (we waited about 15 minutes to be seated at dinner time on a weekday), but they have a tablet with the Yelp waitlist in front so if the wait is long you can put your name down and go do something else. read more

We dropped my husband's car off at the shop and ended up nearby, so we looked up places to eat and I'm so glad we found A Ma Chicken Rice . I was craving something simple and comforting, and this hit deep. Their chicken and rice instantly took me back to my childhood my grandma used to make chicken and rice with hot oil and scallions, and this felt just as nostalgic. The chicken was insanely juicy and tender, and the portion was HUGE for $19.50. Honestly, my husband and I could've shared one plate, but we each got our own (no regrets ). It also comes with little side dishes like soup and pickled veggies, which made it feel like such a complete, thoughtful meal. The condiments deserve their own shoutout warm, fragrant, and tasting like they were just made fresh. They really elevate the dish and make the simple chicken and rice shine. That's the star here, no question. They do have other dishes and drinks too crispy chicken rice and some soup dishes I already want to try next time. Service was good, and while the space is pretty small, it fills up fast. We came right when they opened and it still got busy quickly. If we lived closer, we'd be here all the time. It's 11am on a Saturday, they JUST opened, but it's already SO busy with patrons and pickups -- and for good reason! I tried the other dry noodle dish Kuy Teav Kouk and I think I may have a new favorite! The broth is so light, fragrant, and rich with flavor. The flavor profile is so savory, tangy, and umami. I love adding extra ginger scallion oil and pickled garlic. Portions are generous! The vibe feels a lot faster-paced than when I've been here last, but it's a lot busier than last time! I don't usually do take out but I was in a rush to get to an event so I decided to order pickup on DoorDash. It was super quick and convenient, my food was ready in 10-15 minutes on a Friday evening. I was so surprised that the food still tasted super fresh and delicious even with takeout. It tasted exactly like when you dine in. I write this because at some restaurants, food tastes very soggy during takeout but at A Ma Chicken Rice, it tasted really fresh! Their combo chicken rice is delicious. You can't go wrong with fried and boiled chicken in one dish. You really get the best of both worlds! Always love dining here whenever I'm in the area. Staff and owner is so friendly. One of those places you go to when you just want chicken and rice, and it hits every time. The chicken is always flavorful, and the whole meal just tastes comforting. It honestly reminds me of growing up and bringing chicken and rice to school as a kid. If you grew up eating Cambodian food, this kind of meal just feels familiar in the best way. This isn't really the kind of place you go for service. You place your order, they bring the food out, and you pay. A Ma Chicken Rice is located near HMart and the Redmond Town Center. I usually park for free near the BJ's brewhouse restaurant but of course you could park near HMart as well. A Ma Chicken Rice is busy every time I have went! First visit the wait was about 20 minutes but the second visit we waited only 5 minutes. My friend and I love this place! The ambiance is very relaxed vibes. They play good music, everyone is enjoying their food, and the decor is bright. The restaurant is beautiful making it almost feel homey and just an overall comfortable and enjoyable experience. Service is quick and friendly. The first time I visited I ordered a Thai iced tea with the Kuy Teav noodle soup. The Thai iced tea was delicious and so was the noodle soup. I am not a big fan of pork so unfortunately I didn't finish my dish as it was a bit much for me and personal preference I'm just not a big eater of pork. I tried my friend's dish which was the Crispy Chicken Rice and it was so damn good that I said I needed that next time! Next time my friend and I hung out of course we had to come here again! The food is sooo good! I got the Thai iced tea again and this time got the Crispy Chicken Rice. Everything was perfect! I loved dipping my chicken into the broth :) My friend this time ordered the a ma dried noodles and I tried some. The noodles look like they'd be spicy but to be honest they had a sweet taste to it. My friend enjoyed their dish very much but I thought it was a bit sweet for my liking but again personal preference. Definitely recommend the Crispy Chicken Rice and Thai iced tea. So bomb! Taste: 4 Clean: 3.5 Service: 3.5 Time: 4.5 Ambiance was great, inside however felt cold, and had flies. The menu was simple, easy to order on phone, and great addition to Redmond. I was lost on the broth, it was just "eh" and the reviews and hype online was bigger than I thought this place deserved. This is our 2nd time here. Love this restaurant, excellent Chicken & Rice. Always moist and tender. Presentation is simple, beautiful and authentic. The broth s flavorful. Chicken has a nice sheen on the skin. My wife and son had it and they loved it! I opted this time for the Noodles with fried chicken and ground pork. Dish is flavorful. I like that it's not salty at all because there are enough sauces to add to it. It's a very aromatic dish especially sprinkled with a generous amount of spring onions. It's a tiny restaurant, a little bit tight fitting with tables. But it reminds me of those small crowded market restaurants in Southeast Asia. The walls are decorated with shelves of Asian grocery ingredients. It's a nice touch. The servers are warm and friendly. The service is quick and no nonsense. So glad I had a chance to stop by with coworkers during lunch here. A friend's great recommendation. We all ordered the combo chicken to try out the poached and crispy version. Both were so so good, I loved all the sauces that the chicken came with. There was this ginger sauce that was really good. The soup was also the perfect balance. Definitely coming back! A Ma Chicken Rice restaurant is located in downtown Redmond, WA, and serves an interesting combination of Hainanese chicken rice on the menu with added traditional Cambodian noodle soup. Our family had an Sunday dinner here, being able to dine with my daughter/son-in-law's small dog in their makeshift outdoor dining space. It was enjoyable. We seated ourselves outside, and got a couple of laminated menus before ordering at the inside register (the food is brought out to you). It's a very focused menu, with either a chicken rice set or noodle soups. They have hainan chicken here, called the classic chicken rice ($19). It wasn't good, with the rice being overwhelmed by garlic flavor, instead of tasting like chicken broth/fat simmered with aromatics. The chicken was poached (like it should) but wasn't as delicately flavorful as what I've had at other Hainan chicken places. The crispy chicken rice set ($19) replaces the poached chicken with crispy deep fried chicken, and it tasted fine, albeit the same situation with the rice. We also tried their Cambodian noodle soups: Phnom Penh Noodle Soup ($19). The pork broth was good, obviously having been made from pork bones and expertly prepared, not needing any condiments. It came with various meats, including liver and heart, which adds a bit of mineraliness which I like (in moderation). We can get really good Cambodian noodle soup in Long Beach, and this version in Redmond was solid. read more
We'd been meaning to come to this restaurant because it appeared intriguing. There was a line when we got here and put our names on the waitlist - it shows up on Yelp and lets you know as the line gets shorter. The tables were packed closely together and it was a little hard to get around in the restaurant. We ordered 2 of the most popular dishes here - one of the original chicken and rice & one of the crispy chicken and rice. All the food was delicious and the service was good and fast. read more
