Tibet Nepal House is an authentic Himalayan Cuisine. It has very cozy vibes. The staff were attentive and friendly. I ordered the following: - Vegan Momo 5/5 Steamed mixed vegetable stuffed dumplings - Non Vegetable Thali 5/5 Choice Of Chicken Curry or Lamb curry. We Serve Vegetable, Lentil, Nann and Rice - Pisuwari Naan 5/5 Sweetened Naan stuffed with chestnut, peanut, and raisins. Everything was like an explosion of savory flavors in my mouth. Then I ordered - Mango Lassi 5/5 Was creamy, fragrant and had perfect sweetness. The service was fast and efficient. It is a great restaurant to try and enjoy their authentic food.
A friend picked this place since we both haven't been here and we both wanted Momos! We were both excited to try Veal Momos as you don't see those often. Sadly, they were very underwhelming. We both agreed we wouldn't eat those again. The stand outs were the Aloo Gobi and Lamb Curry combo. We got the Curry a little spicy and the Gobi mild. The flavor combo was delicious! The lamb was moist and flavorful and the Aloo Gobi was just the way we both happen to like it. The peshwari naan wasn't the best but I'll take it. She got the Garlic naan and said the same. I would come back here again for both entrees. Service was attentive and staff was nice. There's street parking and pay for parking.
Yum! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and we sat outside with my dog in tow. Service was great and our server was friendly. I believe the owner was there that came to our table as well. Nice people. The food was really good! Never tried aloo tamaa but my gf suggested it. And the okra dish was soooo good. Think these two dishes are my most favorites going forward. Garlic naan was fresh and hot too. Must try! Cute little mom & pop place on holly st.
INSANELY LONG WAIT FOR FOOD. The food was delicious but the insane wait took away from the pleasure of the entire experience. This was Saturday at 7:30ish. Didn't get food until past 8:30. When we first entered the restaurant, it was already pretty chaotic. Several parties just crowded waiting. There is no waitlist so you have to wait in a crammed tiny entry way to try to get the waiters attention to seat you. I was already a bit wary because of that. Then when finally seated in 10-15min, I noticed that there was barely any food on the table. Ordered quickly with the waiter. But the food took over 40 MINUTES to come out...all we got was two entrees, a rice and naan. And things came out in random order. The table next to us had ordered at the same time and all their food seemed to have arrive already. Too bad about the extremely long wait because the food was great. It was a bit salty though. I got the vegetable korma with garlic naan. The naan is more like flatbread and not fluffy. Didn't get a photo since I was starving by then. Service was also nice overall. But no updates on whether our food was coming out - even with obviously looking around and trying to catch their eyes.
I visited this restaurant for the first time on Christmas 2025 for dinner with 5 others. We arrived at 5:45. The restaurant was somewhat busy. Fortunately, street parking was still available. Others in my party were able to park right across the street from the restaurant. I ended up about a block away. We were immediately seated. The restaurant was moderate in size. The decor was simple yet unique. The vibe was casual, social, relaxed and comfortable with the exception of the unpadded wooden chairs. The menu was extensive with options for everyone. I was very excited about the many vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Mix Platter, Chicken Tiki Masala, Tofu Saag and Baigoon Aloo along with white rice and Naan. The wait for our food was a bit longer than expected, and it came out in random order. The Naan arrived at the end. And we never received one dish that we ordered so we canceled it. The food was seasoned well and delicious. Everyone else in my party seemed to really enjoy the Tandoori Chicken. My favorite dish was the Baigoon Aloo. The Mix Platter was a little bit of a disappointment as there were only two pieces of shrimp in the dish. Service was warm and friendly but a little forgetful. I'm guessing this was because it was Christmas and it was busy. Understandable... Prices were reasonable. I can't wait to return to try some of the other vegetarian dishes.

The service was also great, every time I come here the servers are so kind and attentive! Love this spot! Highly recommend for a relaxing dinner in Pasadena!
5 star for ambiance and service. Food is also solid, except, the last time we went, we got the thalis - both with saag, and the saag was pretty salty. The daal and the cauliflower that came with it was really delicious, as was the naan and roti that we got. Got a pot of the chai, which was a nice balance with the food, and kept us up til the wee hours of morn. We'll definitely be back, despite the salt, because as soon as I walked in and was engulfed with the smell of the spices, I felt my body just completely relax and feel warm and happy.

It is vegan and vegetarian-friendly with plenty of options. We came for the lunch specials and were impressed by the satisfying curries and generous portions. The Chicken Masala (lunch special) was creamy and perfectly spiced. I also enjoyed the accompanying lentil and chickpea dishes. The Okra vegetable curry was fibrous and hard to chew, however, it still tasted good. They should use more tender/young okra, instead of tough, older okra. Service is stellar. He was attentive and incredibly kind.
May 26 & June 6, 2025 | Pasadena: Tibet Nepal House is a festive, flavorful & memorable Himalayan restaurant in Pasadena! Food, customer service, and ambience are incredible & keeps me coming back for more! The flavor of it all is mesmerizing!! Aloo Baingan: Absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and an array of spices! The Eggplant and Potatoes mixed in with the Nepali Spices rocks my world! It's like a flavorful dance upon my tongue, as each spice blends into a wonderful & memorable moment! I've had this dish twice! Apricot Naan: Imagine warm naan bread filled with yummy pieces of apricots! It's a beautiful & flavorful combo and with added mango chutney on the side...yes, please! Incredibly delicious! Customer Service: Welcoming, friendly & attentive! The customer service here is amazing from the moment you walk in and throughout your meal, even a friendly goodbye! All-around great vibes here! I love this place! Note: If there were more stars, I would definitely give it to this restaurant!! Overall: Absolutely on my mind the minute I think of what I want to eat while I'm in Pasadena!! Love it! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu as well! First time and the two of us got the Lamb Tikka Masala and Yak Momo (dumpling). Both were delicious! Lunch hour ends at 3pm and they had a combo for the Masala that comes with Basmati rice, naan, lentil soup so it was very filling. We also had the Mango Lassi, made in house and not too sweet. The house salad came in a perfect portion to share. Overall relaxed ambience and decor, polite staff, paid street parking or parking structures nearby.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. I ordered the fish vindaloo, which the menu says is salmon -- it was NOT salmon. Completely different fish, and honestly questionable quality. I also ordered kheer (rice pudding) and got a dry clump of rice with zero milk or cream. When I brought it up, the owner (short, stout guy with glasses) insisted "that's kheer." It's not. Service was just as bad. I had to flag staff down multiple times -- no water refills, no check-ins. Then it got weird. The owner started asking me how much money I make, then asked for specifics, and then asked if I'm single or have a girlfriend or boyfriend (what!!!). Completely inappropriate. On top of that, the owner made a comment like "he's an engineer, he doesn't want to pay for a bottle" when I declined bottled water. Unprofessional and unnecessary. When I asked to remove the kheer (which I didn't eat and told him upfront and showed him images of actual kheer), there was attitude and pushback before the owner finally corrected the bill. He had the nerve to charge my credit card then had to refund me. Food was inaccurate, service was inattentive, and the behavior crossed the line. Would not recommend.

I went here on my birthday with my parents and my brother. My parents had questions about the food and drinks and the waiter answered them proficiently. For my beverage I ordered a mango lasso. For my food, I ordered aloo gobi vegetable thali. It came with naan, lentil, and basmati rice. The entree was the aloo gobi which is potato cauliflower curry. He asked if I wanted mild for the spice level and I said yeah. It took around 10-15 minutes for my food to arrive. It was pretty mild, I should've asked for medium instead, I like when spicy food has a kick to it. The aloo gobi had a lot of sauce which I liked because in other recipes there doesn't seem to be a lot. The lentils were easy to chew and soft. My dad noticed that one fan wasn't on. He said it was hot and I didn't think so. I like the tapestry and banners up for decoration. There were at least 4 other tables filled. There was music playing but it stopped a few times. Then the music started up again after 5 or so minutes. read more

Some of the food was good, but they were really liberal with the salt on the chicken curry and the non vegetable phing. It was way too salty. Otherwise the seasoning on en pointe. read more

this restaurant was so good, and i love how they offer set menus so you can try a bit of everything. i got the non vegetable thali with the chicken masala and thought everything was super flavorful and delicious! the employees here are so kind: they were accommodating for our party of 7 and offered to take group photos for us. they're very generous with the naan and gave us spice on the side so we could adjust to our liking read more
Delicious! Very very nice place to have dinner. Very relaxing and beautiful since it's in Old Pasadena. We ordered some momos, veggie korma, Chana masala, and some bread, and interestingly enough the veggie dishes are always so much more flavorful! Loveddd the veggie momos and veggie korma. If I would not die from it, I would bathe in this place's fish masala sauce. Sadly that is not hygienic so I'll stick to eating it. I had it with the garlic and cheese naan. Extremely delicious. Also I was too excited to the food so I ate it before I could take pictures. The mixed fried rice is also very fragrant and good. read more

The food was so flavorful and portions were more than satisfying. The ambiance inside was very nice, and can seat large parties. We got the chicken tikka masala thali, palak paneer thali, and chicken momo. I'd recommend getting the thali, but I think next time I'd skip the chicken momo. read more
First time trying this place on a Tuesday evening. Plenty of seating but it started to fill up around 7pm. The servers were incredibly attentive and checked in frequently to refill our waters. The place was clean. The food was decent. Only got a picture of the vegetable momo, but the menu is huge! Portions were good. Lots of vegetarian options. Prices were fair. Parking was a little difficult, but I ended up going to the structure a few blocks south ($1 for the first 2 hours and $2 for each hour after). Much better than the closer structure that is $1 for every 20 min I believe. read more
Quintessential spot in old town Pasadena for Nepalese food. The food is solid, and has a large variety for dietary restrictions. As someone who tries to stay away from dairy, I love their vegan options, especially the eggplant and okra. They are packed full of spices that create the perfect sauce to dip your naan. Having been here a few times, the quality tends to vary. Sometimes there isn't quite enough salt, while other times, the naan isn't as chewy/thin. The interior is traditional and really immerses guests in the culture and food experience, while the service is attentive. Lastly, there is some upselling by the staff, so be sure to know what you want and be firm. read more

I came here out of curiosity. It definitely passed the vibe check. Unfortunately, I was not hungry. I had some masala tea and crackers inside the restaurant. They were good. I have never been a fan of mint chutney, but if you love it, this is the place. The tea was really, really good. I have never tried to finish a whole teapot pot by myself in one sitting. I did have some food to go and it was quite good. I loved their veggie momo. read more
This was my first time trying this place. We came in for lunch during the weekday and were greeted warmly. The restaurant is completely decked out with traditional decorations. We were the only ones there during that time, so we were able to be seated and served right away. I came with a coworker that is vegetarian so definitely a vegetarian friendly place. We got the vegetarian momos as an appetizer and it just wasn't for me. I got the mango Lassy, chicken masala, and samosa. I didn't know what Lassy was but our server recommended me to try it and it was good. It was like a mango flavored yogurt. The chicken masala was rich, creamy, and flavorful. I liked it! It was good but I'm not sure if I would come again. The food wasn't something that REALLY impressed me, but I def recommend to try the food at least once in case you do enjoy this type of food. read more

Tibet Nepal House offers a great variety of dishes with different protein options. Their flavors are decadent and rich We came here on a Saturday night for dinner and requested to sit outside because we had a dog. They were happy to accommodate us and moved a table to sit four people. The service throughout the whole night was great. They were super kind and checked it on us often to make sure that the flavors and food were to our liking. Restaurant totally gave the vibe of a family own and run restaurant so felt super homey. The chicken tikka masala was super creamy and very good. It was our table's favorite bite of the night. The chicken curry also had great flavor. It was lighter and the inclusion of vegetables in that one makes it very tasty. We ordered regular naan and garlic naan. I would say there isn't really too big of a difference between the two but really enjoyed the texture of the naan being crispy and on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The samosas were packed filling had a really thin crispy outside and had a very tasty tamarind sauce to accompany company. The chicken Momos were really great. They had like a curry flavor inside, but the sauce was nothing to write home about. Parking is street parking or structure parking. They have a nice and clean bathroom. Overall, I would still come back occasionally if I was in the mood for currys. The prices were on the price your side, but they do offer a lot of items for the Thalis. read more
I've never had Tibet Nepal food before, but we decided to give this establishment in Old Town Pasadena, which actually looks quite modern for being old, an inquisitive try. First off, I have to say the service was phenomenal. They accommodated us outside and gave a seat to our puppy. We ordered the non veg thalis and the mint chicken along with samosas and chicken momo. The thalis were a good size portion. We also ordered naan. Let's say, lots of leftovers but the food was like Indian but spiced differently. It was a wonderful experiment at a very cozy establishment. Parking is via structure or street. Indoor and limited outdoor seating available. Please visit and create your own experience. read more

The ambiance in here was pretty cool. Quiet, dimly lit, and relaxed. Lunch review. Vegetarian review. Lunch special: matter paneer. The lentils were great. It was kind of a soup of sorts, and was so, so tasty. Salty and savory. Very good. You also get rice and like, 6 pieces of naan. Matter paneer was a bit on the sweet side, and otherwise, lightly seasoned. Not really punchy in flavor. Lunch special: aloo gobi. All lunch specials come with rice, naan, and lentils. The aloo gobi was also nice. This was also lightly seasoned. The cauliflower itself was great in texture. Samosa: this was very good. Flavors were on point, and the insides were made up of potato, peas, and something else. Vegetable momos: worth getting. They came out kind of cold, and the bottoms have a tend to break, but they were delicous. Parking is apparently in a parking garage somewhere. There's metered parking right outside as well if you can score it. Service was very slow on a Thursday during lunch. Not that many people there (like, 2 or 3 other parties, and a few to-go orders), but the one person there was apologetic and did try his best. read more

Wonderful restaurant! We were greeted and seated quickly, service was fast and friendly. We tried a variety of items. My husband ordered a vegetable noodle dish that I had never heard of. I got the vegetarian Thali with tofu. We also got the yak Momo just because we wanted to try it. We did ask for everything to be make extra spicy. The spice level was perfection! The noodles and Thali were full of flavor and tasted fresh. The yak Momo were delicious but the top of the Momo were crunchy. I would absolutely recommend Tibet Nepal and look forward to returning. read more

Wow!Tonight my taste buds took the long, yet rewarding, journey the Himalayas. This place packs the flavor, without packing a long wait. We were seated and taken care of within 5. The spicy Aloo Gobi was a nice lighter vegan curry packed with a complementing array of veggies. The lamb tikka masala was a richer, creamier dish that was warm and comforting to the tummy. The garlic naan was cooked to perfection, soaking up the sauces nicely while still maintaining a light crunch factor. I can appreciate a family-owned business like this and will definitely be back for the service, authenticity and quality of the food. read more

It is my first time having Nepalese food and the restaurant impressed me a lot. the food is good but the garlic naan is burnt. Momo's sauce is amazing. The service is friendly and serving time is fast. Too bad there is no parking nearby and they don't help with the parking fee too. We parked opposite the building for $10 for 2 hours parking. Which parking structures do they offer free parking? menu says 171 N Raymond Ave (90') and 30 E Union St
Pasadena recently starting charging for parking, no more 90 minutes free lots that I'm aware.
Do they have the buffet on the weekends?
Is any of the meat halal?
What dishes are included in the lunch buffet?
I get the (forgive my spelling) pakauda, curry chicken or chicken tikki masala sometimes those two alternate, with rice and a side salad. Oh and the Dahl (lentals) AMAZING.
How large are the plates?
We could not finish it all and took enough food away for another meal. Best of all the quality was super.
What are the hours for lunch buffet on Mon thru Fri? And the cost per person?
11:30-3p is weekday lunch buffet for $8.99 or $9.99.
Is this a good place to have a birthday dinner at and also do you need to make resveration if it is?
Yes good place for birthday dinner. I made reservations for a big party. I don't believe they take reservations for small parties.
