Chicken Mahkni & Garlic Naan
Dave W.

New Delhi Palace is intimate and tranquil. The service is quick and the food is incredible! Huge fan of their Chicken Makhni! The garlic Naan is remarkably soft and fluffy! Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms but that pink soap is awful! Forgivable when the food is as flavorful as it is! A huge plus is the free parking structure behind the joint. Rare for LA.

Vegetable Pakora Vegetable Samosa Vegetarian Dinner

First time trying this restaurant and decided to go the takeout route, which is a bold choice when you don't know how well the hot food will travel. I was super impressed with how everything was perfectly packaged and labeled. No spillage and it made it home still hot and fresh. The food itself was delicious but my favorite was the vegetable pakora. Would recommend!

What is disappointment? The lunch buffet was. When I walked in, I asked what the price was, expecting it to be $17 like someone posted last month. The gentleman told me $19. When the bill arrived it was actually $19.57. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food was on the bland side. It did not have unique flavors compared to other places the garlic naan was excellent. Service was just OK. I had to ask for more water and there were no spoons on the buffet for the dessert.

Always love their food! Great buffet for Lunch! The water glass is crystal clean, water is good and the food is fresh! Parking is easy too, in the back and amazing view out the window! Look at the natural light!

Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetarian Dinner, Garlic Naan

This place had delicious food, and the ambiance was really nice since the restaurant is located on the second floor of the building and you can see out. The service was attentive, and I'll definitely go back!

This was a fantastic experience. From the first bite of our vegetable Samosas I knew the flavor profiles would be outstanding. The service was fantastic looks like a small family runs it sweet kind attentive people. The food was finger licking good. Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Massala and chanamasala with the Garic Naan were perfection this will be a new regular spot for us.

Came here for their lunch buffet on a Sunday, we noticed this place after grabbing food at Hummus Labs and decided to give it a try since it's close by. Parking is usually not a problem in the upper lot of the structure and the stairs lead right to the restaurant. It was not busy at all when we arrived close to noon so we got a table right away. I don't know if their selection changes daily or occasionally but was a little disappointed they didn't have butter chicken or tikka masala that day. So I tried the chicken curry, potatoes, pakoras, chili chicken and lamb curry. The chili chicken was super dry and over cooked. The lamb and chicken curry was a bit bland. I also found the pakora way too full of nothing but onions which I'm not a fan of. The naan that came was fresh and hot although again a little bland, could barely taste the garlic. For dessert they had gulab jaman but it was cold instead of hot which is not NH preference. For $22.99 before tax and tip, I was left pretty unimpressed. I prob would've given them another shot if it was a little cheaper, maybe their other dishes are better but have a hard justifying $29/pp after tax and tip for pretty mediocre food. It's a shame because I was looking forward to having an Indian buffet spot close by (we typically go to a spot in Rosemead which is pretty out of the way).

This place is often overlooked, but their coconut curry chicken is the best I've ever had.

Service is good! They took like.. 30 minutes to prepare the food. I would recommend ordering ahead. They play soft Indian music which is a nice vibe.. also some kind of thin bread appetizer for free. - Chicken Coconut Curry 5/5 AMAZING. I asked them to make it 10/10 spicy and they did just that! It tasted amazing. It was very rich and flavorful and spicy! [RECOMMEND] - Lamb Tikka Masala 2.9/5 Lamb is very tender and delicious. The sauce however has too much tomato taste. - Tandoori Chicken 4.5/5 The chicken was very tender and had good charcoal taste. - Garlic Naan 4/5 I've had better naan, but definitely a staple to get with the curry! You also have to order basmati rice on the side. Free upper deck parking in the structure!

Ask the Community - New Delhi Palace

Do they have lunch buffets?

Yes. they just started like a month a go after covid

Access to use for Wheelchair?

Yes, there is a ramp from the parking lot entered off of Mentor.

I tried to go here tonight, and could not for the life of me find the entrance to the parking lot! Of course, the weather was so awful I could barely see. Where is it? Thanks.

The parking is on North Mentor Ave. Just north of Colorado blvd. Mentor is a oneway street. If you turn from Colorado Blvd the parking lot is upstairs and it's the first lot on your left.

But while shopping on Colorado Blvd, we decided we wanted to try something different. We both love Indian food, but I have a sensitive stomach, so sometimes Indian restaurants can be hit or miss for me. We decided to give Chak De California a try, and WOW! What a hidden gem. We've lived in Pasadena this whole time and somehow never knew this place existed. The moment we walked in, we noticed how beautiful the restaurant was. The decor is modern, stylish, and has such a warm vibe. The staff and who I believe was the owner were incredibly welcoming and kind. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the meat platter, and honestly, the food was incredible. The chicken tikka masala was hands-down the best I've ever had. The sauce is absolutely amazing, the meat was super tender, and even ordering it a little spicy didn't upset my stomach at all -- which tells me they're using really quality ingredients. Another thing we loved was the atmosphere. There was a DJ the Saturday night we went, and the music was such a cool mix of Bollywood, French house, and eclectic lounge vibes. It was chill, classy, and not overly loud or crazy. Super cute date night vibe. Overall, genuinely a 10/10 experience. I'm literally at home right now waiting for my chicken tikka masala on Postmates and felt the need to write this review immediately. Don't sleep on this restaurant, seriously go try it ASAP. Yes, the prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it feels justified because the quality is there.

Will return out of sheer curiosity sometime this summer and try ordering the same dishes I had last time. If the Chak De gets their stuff together and makes improvements, I will update my review accordingly.

One was for DineLA and one was for a Yelp event in the summer. This location has multiple parking garages to choose from near the building. These were so good went we first tried them and couldn't want to get these again. We came in right before 3pm and they run a daily lunch special from 11:30am - 3pm. The staff was welcoming and worked very hard as she was the only server managing a few tables. We opted for 2 orders of the Pani Puri shots (one free from the SGV passport deal) and the Chicken Curry Lunch Special. The food took some time to come out but worth the wait. The Pani Puri shots were the best! I love the set up and presentation. The little mini cart even moves around with its wheels. You pour em up in the puffs and eat it in one bite! I like the flavor of the pani so I sip some too. :D As for the chicken curry, the flavors were delicious. The portions are good for one person but we shared. The naan was freshly made. The airy and crispiness makes it a great pairing with the whole meal. This location delivered on flavors and was consistent with the other restaurant. The food left us very happy! Thanks, All India Cafe! ( ^_^)b

The classics we always order: butter chicken (rich, creamy, a little sweet), fish korma (coconutty and mellow), and lamb vindaloo (tangy and spicy). It is an Indian Vegetarian mini restaurant and grocery store chain, similar to the India Sweets and Spices franchise in the SFV and environs. The grocery selections are vast. On the restaurant side there is both North and South Indian fresh food, some of which is made to order (say the Masala Dosa). What is lacking here is air conditioning. It was a really hot day. How can you eat spicy food while being so uncomfortable? I was still full from breakfast, so I ordered a medhu Vada with Coconut chutney, for dine in. The Vada was soft mildly crispy on the outside and delicious. The coconut chutney was fresh, with a strong chili kick, almost like it was tailor made for me (as I have said, "Life without spice is no life at all"). For my lunch carry out, I chose the two vegetable item combo. For the vegetables, the lentils and the Potato with green pepper. Selected flavored rice and Poori for the bread option. It also came with Raita and Pickle. I had this take out later in the evening. One thing is clear. In most Indian food outlets of this sort, there are the standard dishes and where ever you buy them, they taste almost the same. What I found with the food here was that it was markedly different. There is more depth of taste and flavor. Sliced cinnamon quills, black round pepper corns, whole curry leaves and other spices that enhanced every component of my lunch. This does not come cheap. Their small take out curry containers are $4.99, the large is $17.99. Seems to be the standard, for this brand's branches. No doubt, they are the highest prices for Indian fast food, if you compare them with the current existing competition anywhere in this vicinity. Service was caring, attentive and well delivered.

This was the first time shopping at an Indian market so I didn't know what to expect. There was a small food shop serving Indian food and all of the customers were Indian - that's a good sign of its authenticity. It wasn't lunch or dinner time so I didn't get anything but made a mental note to go try it next time. The aisles were in disarray, there were unopened boxes & opened boxes of merchandise on the floor of each aisle. Wasn't clear on what most of the merchandise was. I really want to go back with one of my Indian friends to explain what things are & show me what I should get. The henna hair dye that I purchased turned out to be WAY better than what I got on the popular online store. The prices of items seemed fair. The produce seemed tired & old. There were lots of frozen & refrigerated items & I wish I knew what's good. The cashier wasn't the friendliest of people but it is what it is.
