The food is just not good. How do you go wrong with a Tika Masala and veggie Khorma. Lacking a lot of flavour. The actual tandoori chicken breast in the gravy was good and tender, there was a lot of chicken too, but the gray/souce which should have pungent flavours were very lacking and bland. We started with the samosas. They were two huge samosas and came with two sauces that were very good. I like the tamarin sauce the best. We tried the Lamb Biryani. It was quite delicious and it came with a yogurt sauce. The rice was well cooked and they were pretty generous chunks of lamb. We also got the non-vegetarian dinner platter which for $25 was a pretty good deal and definitely something to share if you want to try each of the dishes. We got the Lamb Curry, which was delicious. The Tandoori Chicken which was very moist. My favorite was the Palak Paneer. The meal also came with Dal, Naan, Raita and Basmati Rice. I think it was more than enough for one person. I got the mango lassi, which had a great consistency and wasn't too sweet. We also got the Salt lassi, which had a very interesting taste, but was pretty good. New Delhi Palace is intimate and tranquil. The service is quick and the food is incredible! Huge fan of their Chicken Makhni! The garlic Naan is remarkably soft and fluffy! Friendly staff. First time trying this restaurant and decided to go the takeout route, which is a bold choice when you don't know how well the hot food will travel. I was super impressed with how everything was perfectly packaged and labeled. No spillage and it made it home still hot and fresh. There was lamb curry, tandoori chicken, chicken curry and some others I have never had before and did not look appetizing at all. I asked if it would be possible to get chicken tikka masala or butter chicken. At first there was no answer, the staff just walked away into the kitchen. I asked again and was told this is what we have today. I had to wait for another portion of curry chicken to come out. Ridiculous for only 3 ppl on the dining room. Naan was fresh. What is disappointment? The lunch buffet was. When I walked in, I asked what the price was, expecting it to be $17 like someone posted last month. The gentleman told me $19. When the bill arrived it was actually $19.57. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food was on the bland side. It did not have unique flavors compared to other places the garlic naan was excellent. Came here for their lunch buffet on a Sunday, we noticed this place after grabbing food at Hummus Labs and decided to give it a try since it's close by. Parking is usually not a problem in the upper lot of the structure and the stairs lead right to the restaurant. It was not busy at all when we arrived close to noon so we got a table right away. I don't know if their selection changes daily or occasionally but was a little disappointed they didn't have butter chicken or tikka masala that day. So I tried the chicken curry, potatoes, pakoras, chili chicken and lamb curry. The chili chicken was super dry and over cooked. The lamb and chicken curry was a bit bland. I also found the pakora way too full of nothing but onions which I'm not a fan of. The naan that came was fresh and hot although again a little bland, could barely taste the garlic. For dessert they had gulab jaman but it was cold instead of hot which is not NH preference. For $22.99 before tax and tip, I was left pretty unimpressed. I prob would've given them another shot if it was a little cheaper, maybe their other dishes are better but have a hard justifying $29/pp after tax and tip for pretty mediocre food. First things first, the food was fine. It wasn't anything outstanding but also wasn't bad. The mango lassi had small bits of paper in it though which was a bit concerning. The thing that made the experience bad was the service. This was something none of us had experienced before and just left a bad taste in our mouths. Our server was not the friendliest or most helpful server. We asked for recommendations on the menu and weren't given an answer, just a "well what do you want?" The restaurant only had a couple groups dining in and service wasn't attentive where we constantly had to waive someone down to get a refill of water. It became bad when we were mid meal and continuously asked if we were finished eating and wanted to pack our food. We had only been there for maybe 30 minutes and showed no signs of being finished. And mind you, there was no rush or wait and the restaurant wasn't closing for another two hours. When we eventually started packing our leftovers and were busy doing so, our server stood there asking us to hand her our plates and utensils. Instead of waiting for us to leave, or picking them up herself, she asked every single person at the table to pick up specific items for her to put away. Not in a friendly way either. There were multiple occasions where she would cut our conversations to make us pick something up and hand to her. Unfortunately, a worker like this leaves us with no desire to return to dine here again. Nobody should be rushed to finish their food then be demanded to help clean the table. read more

I came to this restaurant with some of my co-workers for lunch the other day. It is located on the 2nd floor so you'll have to walk through a flight of stairs to get here... not too bad. It is an Indian food buffet. The food selections are okay, but the flavors were lacking a little bit... kinda bland. Portions that they bring out every time was kinda low. I wanted to get some of the meats & veggies and they were gone really fast. Anyway, one of the chicken items was tender and delicious though... I just don't remember which one... sauce was yellow with chucks of dark chicken meat that's all I remember... probably chicken curry LOL. I didn't care for the chicken tikka masala as the chicken was dry and tough. Naan bread was good, but I didn't taste any garlic though. The spice level was just right for me since I tend to normally go for medium spice. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Buffet price was a little high for the food selections IMHO. It was food. We were there for dinner, but there was no one else there. The restaurant is clean, and the background music is nice and not too loud. The service was good; however, the menu recommendations came with some items that were lost in translation. Not every dish is a hit; some were big misses. For instance, the well-known chicken tikki masala was not good at all; it tasted off, and the color was off too. Other dishes were okay, and the price is average for an Indian restaurant. Hands down one of the best Indian Restaurants I've been to. I've been here several times but the buffet is the way for me. The food was freshly laid out and the Tandori Chicken was GRREAT. Some places cook it too hard but not this place, just right. I thought the price was right for $19.00. Everything has gone up these days, but I thought it was worth it. The service was good too. My boyfriend and I got out of the movie theatre across the street, and as we were walking back to our car we saw this Indian restaurant on the second floor of the plaza. We also saw that all the tables were incredibly full and were intrigued. On a whim, we decided to pop in and eat here. We were immediately seated and we decided on what to get. I'll admit, I'm not well versed in Indian food so I got the basic chicken tikka masala while my boyfriend got the chicken tandoori. We also got the garlic naan as well. The chicken tikka masala was SO good. The sauce wasn't too creamy for my taste and it was seasoned well. The chicken tandoori was a bit of a miss for me. It was pretty juicy for it being chicken breast but when the dish ended up cooling down, it was just too dry. The seasoning was good but I wish I had a sauce that I could dip it in. I LOVE this place because they are one of the few restaurants with stuff bread. The lady was super nice and she explained to me that naan is made with milk, but paratha, roti, and poori are vegan! You can even ask them to make the stuffed breads with paratha if you want to avoid dairy. For example, the onion kulcha is made naan, but you can ask them to make it with paratha. It's healthier anyway :) They have a vegan section on the new menu and a vegetarian section for those that eat dairy. Competent staff. So considerate. They wear masks when most of the world has stopped in the middle of the pandemic. Much appreciated! Restaurant located on the second floor on the left (if entering from the staircase on Colorado Blvd). My only complaint is that the Bengan Bartha had peas that were not listed in the menu. Their buffet is especially nice with a large variety of dishes. I was surprised to see the lower ratings and realized I have never rated this restaurant. My recent discovery is the complementary chai tea with the buffet. We usually get mango lassi, but it was a cold day so I got the tea instead and I think it will be my new go to. read more

I moved out of town and have missed New Delhi Palace so much. I think my appreciation of NDP has grown over the years as I've continued to try a number of other Indian restaurants and just haven't experienced the same rich flavors. NDP Samosas are so delicious. Crispy fried outside, tender potato/peas/spices inside, pour some tamarind sauce over the top. Devine. Their Palak Paneer is my all-time favorite. I've never experienced it better elsewhere. Both the spinach and cheese cubes are perfect in texture and flavor. Smother a big piece of Naan with Palak Paneer and it's heaven. I just wish my local Indian restaurant was so tasty. I'll keep trying to find a restaurant out my way, but the ease of pick up tonight on my way home from work, made me realize that's the ticket. read more

I'm so glad we found this place! There are so many Indian restaurants in the area, but their prices are way higher than I'm used to. But New Delhi Palace has a great Platter option that is a little bit of everything delicious and a great portion for 2 people. Everything was made really well, with quality seasoning, and well-balanced. Naan tasted great and had an awesome, fluffy texture. Tandoori chicken was juicy and not dry at all. Locating the restaurant was not super obvious though. It's on the second floor of the shopping center. There's a staircase in the middle of the complex, and then you need to take a hard U-turn to the left to get to the door of the restaurant. It's fun to get to eat on a 2nd story restaurant, great view of the foothills at sunset :) Great service and excellent food, I think this place will become a regular spot for us! read more

The bathrooms here are atrocious no thank you!! There's a difference between ratchet, old, and atrocious. New Daily Palace definitely falls into the atrocious. Human excrement stains all over. The cleanliness and respect for your bathroom speaks to the respect one has to oneself as an institution and speaks to the respect they have to their customers. We came in on a Saturday during lunch time and was not offered the lunch menu. It wasn't until I specifically asked for the lunch menu did they bring it out. I didn't appreciate that. There're way fewer options on the lunch menu now which is disappointing. We got the lamb curry and chicken tikka masala. One in mild and the other is medium. Neither were spicy. Each came with rice, naan, 2 veggie dishes. The 2 veggie dishes were delicious. The curries were okay and not spicy. The lamb was chewy. Free parking in the private lot behind the restaurant. This was my first time getting food from this restaurant. Food was good. I ordered medium spice and it definitely had a little kick but tolerable. Hot would have been too hot for me. So if you are not used to spicy, my suggestion is choose no spice. My sister also ordered from there. I spent $50 on my food hoping to serve a family of 3, 2 Adults and a one child. My sister spent $27 on a chicken dinner. As she was driving over she commented that her bag felt sooo much heavier than mine. I quickly asked had they given her a receipt, did she check her bag and thought she must have mistaken my bag for hers. Nope! She literally had more food than I did and dessert. So to those reading get a dinner don't do anything a la carte. You won't be disappointed in the food but I was disappointed that I spent more than she did and got so much less. read more

Great food. We went on a weekday night on the recommendation of a local who have been there before. We ordered Samosas and Samosa Chat - both excellent. Also the regular naan, garlic naan & naan with fruit. Each had a fan within our group of 6. For the main course, we ordered fish vindaloo, mango curry chicken (our favorite of the bunch), an eggplant dish, chana sag (spinach) and another chicken dish + rice. Excellent service - and they threw in 2 deserts for free. We would definitely go back if we travel to Pasadena again. read more
