I've liked each All India location I've tried! In my opinion, this one isn't quite as good as the Arcadia location, but it is still some of the best Indian food that I have eaten. This location has multiple parking garages to choose from near the building. We opted for 2 orders of the Pani Puri shots (one free from the SGV passport deal) and the Chicken Curry Lunch Special. The food took some time to come out but worth the wait. The Pani Puri shots were the best! I love the set up and presentation. The little mini cart even moves around with its wheels. You pour em up in the puffs and eat it in one bite! Came here twice before writing this review. First visit was 4/5. We got the shrimp tandoori and korma. I enjoyed both, especially the shrimp tandoori because they used jumbo shrimp. The korma was good in that it had that creamy texture, but it didn't quite have that very richness that I love about Indian curry. Taste wise, it was super mild and it didn't really bring out the flavors from the spices. We got naan on the side, and this was a miss for me, mainly because it wasn't very fluffy. Actually, it was on the flatter side and the texture was a bit hard. We got a side of the pani puri as well and I enjoyed the flavors from the sauce and textures. Honestly, this was probably the most flavorful thing we had. My second visit was 2/5. I got the chicken tikka masala this time, and I found this to be really disappointing. It was so watered down that the texture was soupy. It was also super bland too. Way too mild and I couldn't taste any of the spices. We got the korma again because my fiancé liked it from the first time, and comparing the two side by side, the korma was thicker. Came here on a Monday for the DineLA dinner special. There was no wait at 6pm so got seated immediately. I'm close by so walked here but you can usually find paid parking structures or street parking. We went with the dinner special which included a choice of appetizer of samosa or aloo tiki so we got one of each. For entree we got the tikka masala and tandoori chicken. For veggie we got the aloo gobi and palak paneer. It comes with naan and rice as well. For dessert we both went with the gulab jamun. The tikka masala was pretty diluted so it wasn't really that great and the tandoori chicken was super dry. Overall the entrees were really mediocre. The only ok things were the naan and gulab jamun which is not worth it enough to make a trip back. Service was also just ok and [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambiance was not the best. The makhni paneer... tangy, rich, the perfect level of spice, the delicate paneer balanced with flavorful tomato and bell pepper. The eggplant salad: soft roasted eggplant layered with spicy tomato sauce and garlic-packed yogurt. I'm actually mildly allergic to eggplant but I ate it anyway. It was phenomenal. So worth it. I didn't try the tandoori chicken as I'm pescatarian but people kept talking about how they were "in love." My mother started singing. I'm not joking. I wish I had more pictures but we were all eating too fast to take any. We found this place while walking around Old Town and decided to give it a try. I love tandoori chicken and most spicy Indian dishes, and being new to the area, had high hopes for finding our new go-to Indian restaurant. I'm sad to report, we did not find that tonight. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, and our server was personable enough. They have a few "dinner for two" options, and we chose the tandoori chicken, which came with two vegetable sides (we chose aloo gobi and makhni paneer), naan, basmati rice, samosas, raita, and dessert. We also ordered chai. The samosas were the best part. They arrived hot, crispy on the outside, and potato filling was delicious. The aloo gobi was our next favorite, delicately seasoned, and would have been a nice accompaniment to the other dishes - had they been good. However, the chicken was dry - four small thighs, overcooked, and over charred (some areas weee burnt), which paired with undercooked white onions and carrots was underwhelming. The makhni paneer was also underwhelming and was quite bland. Both side dishes were really small. The naan was dry and flavorless, as was the basmati rice. We weren't asked for a spice level when we ordered, so if you do go here, and enjoy spicy food, make sure you tell them upfront - our food was not even mildly spicy. Even the chai was on the bland side. Once the food was dropped, we didn't see our server again. I'm not sure if he left or went on break? There was another server taking care of the other tables, but he actively avoided making eye contact. We'd finished our meal, and after 20 minutes of no one checking on us, I began stacking our dishes to clear some space on the table (it normally gets someone's attention, since it looks messy and reflects poorly on the service). When that didn't work, as the remaining server passed our table again, I said "excuse me" to which he barely made eye contact and responded "Are you done?" I indicated that we were. He printed out the check, and laid it down without a word. We weren't in the mood for dessert - which is good I suppose, because we were never offered that part of the meal. The check came to $75. I know this is Old Town, but we both agreed that the meal was vastly overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food. I had always walked past this place a few times, and glad I finally gave it a chance! The food there is actually good! I was most amazed by their pani puri shots and saag paneer. Pani puri shots were flavorful yet refreshing. Another one that I liked was their mango lassi. It was not too sweet for me unlike other places. I also tried a few of their dishes such as Butter Chicken and Coco de Pasta which I thought were not bad. Also, shoutout to their service! Everyone was very nice and kind! The atmosphere of the place is a bit dark, but it gives off intimate vibes for those who enjoy such vibes! The one thing I did not quite like was their samosas. Satisfying weekend lunch at All India Cafe. We came to dine during lunch time on a Sunday afternoon, the restaruant was not very busy at this time so no worries on getting a table or not. We put a reservation ahead just in case, but no need. The interior of the restaurant feels very homey and created a unique atmosphere. The food is really really good here!!! One of the best Indian foods I've had by far! We ordered the chicken biryani, naan, and chicken tikka which were all very delicious!!!!! They offer a big selection of food on their menu. We were helped out right away and food came out pretty quickly 10-15mins but there was only one other couple. This place is very nice for a date night, clean, lots of decorations, and lots of seating inside and couple tables outside on the sidewalk. We ordered pick up for the first time last week. Because of a couple of other South Asian restaurants in Pasadena, we had not had a chance to try All India Cafe. This was the night. In order to have something different, we ordered the green tandoor chicken. It was truly sublime. We'd never had anything like it. We also ordered saag paneer, another winner, lamb naan, regular naan and lentil pappard. The saag was one of the best we've had. The pappard was good, and the regular naan great. I should have ordered the lamb naan spicier than mild. It was fine if uninspired. That's what comes with ordering everything mild. So, for take out it was quite good. Came here for Dine LA, with my friend and so glad I did. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I love the charm of the restaurant indoors with all the decor. Service was a bit slow, but they were really nice and the restaurant was clean. The menu included a sampler of many items - The stand out items was the Fish Masala - basically a chicken tikka masala but with fish and wow I was surprised how much i liked it! I'm not sure what kind of fish it was though but it was delicious. The Nirvana Tofu was so good too, I'm usually a palak paneer girl but I really loved how flavorful the Nirvana tofu was. Food is good, but the service needs improvement. Longgggggg wait for dine-in service on New Year's Day. Online orders seemed to be the priority while the diners had to wait to be attended, seated and order. While there were empty tables, it took 20 min to be seated. Very frustrating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So many delivery drivers kept in and out of the restaurant blocking up the back of the restaurant making it an uncomfortable vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter we had (seemed annoyed to be there) was quite rude and mumbled when he spoke. Took 15 min to even get a waiter and another 10 more min to get some glasses of water. Then was no where to be found so we could order, 45 min after being seated. He Wouldn't look at me or let me finish my sentence when I was trying to order what i wanted and kept turning to my husband saying, "and you, and you". My husband felt like he was being very disrespectful. Crazy thing is that I have been coming here for over 25 years (since I was a teen) and service has never been so bad, so definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully they can work to improve and prioritize their dine in customers. When you can't keep up with diners in house, then it's time to turn off DoorDash and Postmates and work on providing good service in house so you don't get walk outs, bad reviews and low tips. read more

Delicious food! The lunch special is amazing with multiple options and tastes, all for an incredible price. I recently placed a pick up order for later in the day (following a doctor's appointment). They made the order immediately but that meant it would sit out for at least an hour. When I called to ask what could be done the woman just said, very kindly, "we can remake it for later."
