I stopped by Curry Time on a whim, just driving by. I don't normally order Indian food since many restaurants I've tried are either not authentic, or they do a mish mash of food from various regions. This was a quick, fast casual format so I figured it would be quick and easy. And prices are fair so not a huge loss if the food was not great. The owner was there as I ordered and we had a great conversation. I learned there are other branches of this shop. It was close to closing time and she kindly offered me a taste off several of the dishes. I was pleased to notice the flavors were all distinct. Everything was well spiced and fresh tasting. I was very pleased. All the chicken curries are delicious. I settled with the mango chicken and also the goat curry (authentically cooked bone in) and garlic naan. The pricing was a bit misleading initially because there are upcharges for various combinations. However, I recently returned and noticed the signage on pricing was clearer. I would be happy to return and try other items.

Customer service is severely lacking, we arrived just after they opened and went in to say we had an online order and one of the gentleman said they had just opened and it wasn't ready yet. So we left and went on a walk. We returned when we reached the time it stated the food would be done. It was done on time but it was the wrong order. I selected the Chicken Curry pizza and I received the tandoori chicken pizza. When I told them I had the wrong pizza he said no you ordered the chicken curry pizza. I had ordered (online) the chicken curry masala pizza when I asked why the pizza given to me had peppers and olives he said he didn't know why the online description said that because the online description for the chicken curry pizza doesn't have tomatoes and he doesn't use tomatoes. I was offered no refund nor was I given the correct pizza.

Prices are good. Food is okay. My bf and I both got two item combos. I got t chicken curry and it wasn't very flavorful. Street parking is easy.

Watery spinach paneer. Our "plate" was a takeout tray. One review called the servers unfriendly, but I found them friendly, and polite.

The entire staff was attentive and warm throughout the evening. A very thoughtful touch was the complimentary kulfi at the end in three flavors: malai, mango, and rose. But while shopping on Colorado Blvd, we decided we wanted to try something different. We both love Indian food, but I have a sensitive stomach, so sometimes Indian restaurants can be hit or miss for me. We decided to give Chak De California a try, and WOW! What a hidden gem. We've lived in Pasadena this whole time and somehow never knew this place existed. The moment we walked in, we noticed how beautiful the restaurant was. The decor is modern, stylish, and has such a warm vibe. The staff and who I believe was the owner were incredibly welcoming and kind. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the meat platter, and honestly, the food was incredible. The chicken tikka masala was hands-down the best I've ever had. The sauce is absolutely amazing, the meat was super tender, and even ordering it a little spicy didn't upset my stomach at all -- which tells me they're using really quality ingredients. Another thing we loved was the atmosphere. There was a DJ the Saturday night we went, and the music was such a cool mix of Bollywood, French house, and eclectic lounge vibes. It was chill, classy, and not overly loud or crazy. Super cute date night vibe. Overall, genuinely a 10/10 experience. I'm literally at home right now waiting for my chicken tikka masala on Postmates and felt the need to write this review immediately. Don't sleep on this restaurant, seriously go try it ASAP. Yes, the prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it feels justified because the quality is there.

The staff was welcoming and worked very hard as she was the only server managing a few tables. We opted for 2 orders of the Pani Puri shots (one free from the SGV passport deal) and the Chicken Curry Lunch Special. The food took some time to come out but worth the wait. The Pani Puri shots were the best! I love the set up and presentation. The little mini cart even moves around with its wheels. You pour em up in the puffs and eat it in one bite! I like the flavor of the pani so I sip some too. :D As for the chicken curry, the flavors were delicious. The portions are good for one person but we shared. The naan was freshly made. The airy and crispiness makes it a great pairing with the whole meal. This location delivered on flavors and was consistent with the other restaurant. The food left us very happy! It is an Indian Vegetarian mini restaurant and grocery store chain, similar to the India Sweets and Spices franchise in the SFV and environs. The grocery selections are vast. On the restaurant side there is both North and South Indian fresh food, some of which is made to order (say the Masala Dosa). What is lacking here is air conditioning. It was a really hot day. How can you eat spicy food while being so uncomfortable? I was still full from breakfast, so I ordered a medhu Vada with Coconut chutney, for dine in. The Vada was soft mildly crispy on the outside and delicious. The coconut chutney was fresh, with a strong chili kick, almost like it was tailor made for me (as I have said, "Life without spice is no life at all"). For my lunch carry out, I chose the two vegetable item combo. For the vegetables, the lentils and the Potato with green pepper. Selected flavored rice and Poori for the bread option. It also came with Raita and Pickle. I had this take out later in the evening. One thing is clear. In most Indian food outlets of this sort, there are the standard dishes and where ever you buy them, they taste almost the same. What I found with the food here was that it was markedly different. There is more depth of taste and flavor. Sliced cinnamon quills, black round pepper corns, whole curry leaves and other spices that enhanced every component of my lunch. This does not come cheap. Their small take out curry containers are $4.99, the large is $17.99. Seems to be the standard, for this brand's branches. No doubt, they are the highest prices for Indian fast food, if you compare them with the current existing competition anywhere in this vicinity. Service was caring, attentive and well delivered.
