New Year's Day, I live in Pasadena, decided to take my boys out for lunch and get something to eat after the parade was over. Big mistake as traffic was off the hook busy everywhere. Tried going to a few places and they were either insanely crowded or not open. Found an escape route up Allen, across Washington, and down Lake. Saw the restaurants door open, never ate there before, stopped. I rarely eat Indian food but was pleasantly surprised by their food and their pricing. Great portions, great bread. We had first half for lunch and second have for dinner. I will go there again and have already recommended it to a couple people. read more

Highly recommended. I had a delicious 3-item combo for lunch today at Curry House. $15.99 plus $0.75 extra to get garlic naan instead of plain naan. Goat curry - tender and delicious, nicely spiced and with a bit of heat, served over rice. I was delighted to find that it tasted like lamb (my favorite meat). So good! I'm definitely coming back for that again! The naan was hot, fresh and had the perfect springyness when torn. My second item was coconut chicken curry. Also delicious. I did chew something in it that I now think was a piece of chili, which left me with burning mouth & a runny nose. I'd order the curry again but beware of chili pieces. I can take the amount of heat in a typical Mexican chili verde, or the red sauce at King Taco, if that helps gauge the heat. I also got Aloo Gobi which was good. Everything served with rice. I was full by this point. I have 3/4 of the coconut chicken & aloo gobi for leftovers. Yay. Next time I'll try the mango ice cream. Service was immediate. As soon as i said i wanted the combo a chef went into the back to start the naan. Parking on the street and in the back. read more

I don't remember the last time I gave a restaurant 5 stars but Curry Time is just that good. I've eaten their food twice and both dishes were so flavorful and generously served, I will definitely be back for more. The Wrap with Tandoori chicken was so large that I ate off of it for two days. Finally tried Curry Time on Lake Ave last night after driving by it for months and oh my, was I pleasantly surprised by how good this place is. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and helpful, happy to explain the differences in the many varieties available. I got two 3 item combinations so had the opportunity to taste 6 different dishes, 7 if I count the warm fresh Nann bread. Every dish was fresh and delicious. It was a lot of food, and considering the reasonable prices, a tremendous value. I am looking forward to going back! read more

Been meaning to try this place since it's near my job, but unfortunately I'm gonna have to keep leaning on Namaste Spiceland for my Indian food fix in this area. Chicken tikka masala was sweet in a weird way, and the saag paneer was decent but I've had better for a similar price. The best thing flavor wise was the veggie korma, but texturally it had a lot of onions and very few other veggies; I've had this dish other places where the variety/amount of veggies made the curry feel more substantive. Also, and this is a minor thing, their hours are incorrect on yelp, or at least they were today. It says 10:30 but when I came today they didn't open til 11. Perhaps other items on the menu are really good, but what I had today was pretty mediocre. I would rate it 3 stars but the ambiance is not particularly nice and the service wasn't very friendly. If you're curious it may be worth a shot but I wouldn't order the chicken tikka masala. read more

Great, fast Indian food and friendly service. The portions are generous and served in combos that INCLUDES rice and a full piece of naan. Terrific value! The coconut curry chicken was my favorite and the garlic naan was fresh, light, soft and crispy. I would prefer a white meat chicken option and a bit more spice in the paneer but no complaints. I love their original location and wanted to come support the new opening, but we unfortunately had a bad experience and won't be coming back. I know there are always new opening hiccups but... We showed up when they had just opened for the day. Trays of curries were ready. Rice and naan were not, tables were dusty and dirty. We could see into the kitchen, and saw the rolling pin for the naan roll off their prep table and they just picked it up and put it back on table. They said they wiped it but we don't think so... And anyway they should have washed it with soap, not just wiped. That's when they closed the kitchen door lol. And that's also when we left bc we didn't trust it afterwards. I'm sad because I know their food is delicious :( read more

One of the best Indian restaurants in Pasadena. I visited them during their first week of opening and I was super happy with the quality of food and the service. The owner is a very friendly person and he helped me choose best curries for my 2 item combo. I had Kadai chicken and Coconut chicken which were full of flavors. Garlic naan was fresh and crispy. This is my all time new favorite Indian food spot in Pasadena. I'm so glad that they've opened and they're literally down the street from my home. I had a craving for some good Indian food so I decided to try this place and boy am I glad I did. I'll definitely go back here for Indian food. The customer service is excellent while I was there I asked questions about the different curries and there was one in particular I didn't think I'd care for and so before I left the owner came out and asked me if she could give me a sample of this one particular curry and I said sure and she did and when I tried I was amazed how good it was. I promised the owner I'd be back and I definitely will. This place is good and the amount of portions is a lot so much that I had leftovers for the next day. I ordered online, which was a HUGE mistake. 1. When I went to pick it up , the guy behind the counter would not give me the (prepaid) order unless I showed him on my phone. My phone was at home, as the pick-up was 5 minutes away. I showed him my ID, to insure him, but he still refused, and treated me suspiciously. 2. Okay, so I come back with my phone and show him the order, and notice there are several items that are not on the website as options. Furthermore, the prices are substantially lower at the location than online. 3. Stupid me, I should have checked the order, because when I got home, both items of the combo were wrong. Instead of Paneer and Eggplant, there was Onion Korma and Onion curry. Ugh... So, tired rice, lethargic naan and piles of onion for $16? what a waste of money. 4. So I called, asking why I was not told of the substitutes. (By the way both the eggplant and paneer were right there in the hot plate counter). He gave me a lame excuse that you can only order Paneer as a large side, not with combo. THEN WHY WAS IT GIVEN AS A SELECTION ON WEBSITE COMBO ORDER? 5. First time was my LAST time. I absolutely loved curry time! The food was so delicious and fresh, I ordered a plate of chicken tikka masala and the coconut chicken curry! It also comes with rice and naan but I upgraded to their garlic naan and I'm glad I did because it was delicious! The service was excellent as well, the lady who took care of us was super friendly and welcoming! And the ambiance was pretty good too, it's a very small restaurant but very chill vibes!
