I had the Chicken Hardy Bowl. It was kind of meh. I mean what was in it tasted fine but there wasn't a lot there. It needed more chicken. And chunks o' chicken, not more of the shredded kind. You know, then what I got would've looked like the picture. Look, I understand what they're trying to do -- serve fresh, healthy food. I credit them for that. Just take a suggestion-- add more chicken. I read a review from a guy who said he got extra chicken. I would've done that if I had known the regular order wasn't quite what it was quacked up to be. Couldn't resist the chicken pun. I'll pay a buck or two more if it included healthy amounts of chunked chicken. The veggies and sauce were fine. This is a remote takeout kitchen by the way. The pick up takes some figuring out. And I ended up waiting a while on the sidewalk- not great ambiance. Well, there is no dining room. I may try another "slow roasted" chicken bowl. Got the ever so hearty pulled pork bowl with a chipotle sauce. It came out super fast. And I really did feel like I exceeded my daily requirement for fiber/veggies..in the best way. The only grievance I have about this place is how confused I was when I started walking there. I kept looking for signs that said Ben's Fast Food but no it's part of this place called Allied Food To Go. They're made up of a bunch of different restaurants that you can order from on Doordash etc and also in person. The food comes out for pickup in a locker when it's ready--kind of like an Amazon order pickup locker. Gotta be technologically inclined to eat here. read more

I'm really happy with the hearty chicken bowl. It's truly delicious and comes with a generous container of delicious plant based ranch. For someone who uses heavy cream and eats lots of cheese- liking a plant based sauce is rare! This place is keeping me healthy and I'm grateful they found the courage to join the competitive LA food scene to offer lazy people like me a better option. I'm also relieved they named it Ben's Fast Food, because I discovered them by typing Fast Food into Doordash!!! Imagine if they named it Namaste Peace Kitchen?!? I bought 3 hearty chicken bowls tonight LOL but I agree I wish there was just a smidge more chicken. With places like SweetGreen giving out tiny amounts of chicken, us customers are hoping to be pleasantly surprised with protein portions someday, or maybe an add-chicken for $2. I was in the area and hungry so I 'Yelped' vegan fast food in Pasadena. The first place that came up was in LA But Ben's Fast Food showed second. After looking over the menu I decided to get Chickpea & Potato Garden Bowl (they have other options with grains and/or rice). I loved that I could personalize it by easily removing or adding items. Delicious! The roasted chickpeas & potatoes are sort of mashed together. The flavor was great. The greens were fresh, even at 9 pm. I added walnuts and chose Rosemary Balsamic sauce. That sauce was yummy. I think I'll get extra next time. I didn't know it was a 'food kitchen', with multiple restaurants using it for orders. so I missed it when looking for Ben's Fast Food. I'll know in the future because I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area again. read more

It was a generous mix of greens, rice-millet mix, vegies, nuts and chicken.  The lemon-thyme dressing was delish & had a nice tang.  I added walnuts, which complemented the salad.  I could only eat half of it.  The rest is going in the fridge for dinner. read more
