Super friendly, family owned business! She was quick to explain the versatility of their menu and how everything is customizable. Very cool concept. We got a few to try with various toppings. They were crispy and yet refreshing. I also really liked the Pina aqua fresca they have next to the soda fountain.

4 - pack Taquitos/ 2 chicken, 2 beef, OG style, iceberg, lettuce, avocado sauce, and crema

It was my first time trying this location in Pasadena. The hosts were Ricky and his sister. I believe it is their family who started the business.. They were very friendly and helpful , and offered samples before ordering. I ordered the four pack with two beef taquitos & two chicken taquitos done in the OG style. It had toppings with iceberg lettuce, avocado sauce, and Crema. It comes with a drink of your choice, as well as rice and beans. Both the rice and beans have a homemade flavor. They were really good. They gave some extra sauces on the side for a little variety. The beans taste like grandma made them .. The location offers seating indoors or out with tables and one area has a counter. The interior is modern with some very colorful art. Reggae music was playing. I really like this location as well as-the very cordial service and excellent food.

Friendly staff! We heard about this place and wanted to try their taquitos. The staff offered samples of the refreshers and chips/salsa to check flavors and gave recommendations on the options. It was inviting inside and some games available to hang out and play with. We got the loaded asada fries as well as the original taquitos combo. Fries were great and filling. The taquitos were a little too generously slathered with sauce but it was okay we dunked fries in them. I usually don't like rice and beans but the rice was nice accompaniment to the meats and the beans actually were satisfying instead of an afterthought! Plenty of parking in the lot shared with Amazon Fresh that will be closing down soon.

The food was really good! I ordered the taquitos "enchilada" style. The beans tasted homemade and fresh. The salsa was good but ask for the hot one for sure. Very friendly owners. Clean restaurant and lots of free parking.

    This bean 10/10

Was just driving by and found this place. We got the chicken and potato taquitos. One og style and one enchilada way. Both were good but the highlight was their beans and rice! It just hit the spot for us. The menu can be a bit confusing if it's ur first time but overall I would come back.

First time at this location when I was working near by, the staff was amazing and helpful being my first time there, giving good recommendations of what to order got for taquitos with hot cheetos on top the food was good and crispy and the ambience was cool not to loud music pretty cool spot can't wait to go back

I ordered the taquito combo with 2 potato and 2 chicken

The tacos here were so good, and the taquitos were even better. I got mine enchilada-style and the sauces had so much flavor. I honestly recommend everything. and I loved that you can mix and match the fillings. Both were delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and perfect with the sauces. I don't even like beans, and I ate every single one -- I wanted more! The rice was super moist and fluffy, and every part of the meal was seasoned perfectly. Customer service was also great. The staff was friendly, helpful, and gave really good recommendations for my first time. I'll definitely be coming back!

It was my first time here and the service and food were the BEST! Service was super friendly and gave us options on what he recommends. After he explained everything, I ordered exactly that. I got the 4-pack (2 chicken and 2 beef taquitos loaded) w/ rice and beans and a horchata drink. Me and my girlfriend sat outside and they brought the food out to us. Even while we were eating, he made sure we were ok by checking up on us here and there. The food was so good! The best rice and beans I've tasted in a while! It was packing with flavors. The taquitos was also was packing a punch with flavors and you can hear that crunch when you bite into it! If you're planning to try this place, I recommend trying it out! It is worth the time and friendly environment by the staffs (:

    Carne asada fries!

Super friendly staff. Bright and happy causal fast food ambiance. Tacos dorados are hard to find but this place has a crunchy taco with ground beef--I liked this the most. Their crunchy beef taquitos had a touch of heat to them. Their carne asada fries were crunchy, tasty, and had a good amount of toppings. And it was all washed down by a creamy horchata slushy!

Wow wow wow!! I only have positive words for this small family owned restaurant. First of all, the workers are one of the friendliest hospitality workers I have ever met. They were super informative, friendly, and really accommodated us. I genuinely had such a positive experience even without trying their food first. Now onto the food, ordered the 2 taquitos (corn tortilla with beef/chicken) and they were so flavorful, fresh, and crispy. I recommend their combo taquitos since it comes with a drink, rice, and beans. They even have a nice outside seating area with plenty of tables inside and out. Located in a super big plaza near Amazon fresh. Plenty of parking and in a nice location. 1000% recommend coming here.

    OG taquitos

It was my first time here and I loved how welcoming the cashiers were. Rick who I believe is the owner is a very sweet, nice, and welcoming man. He makes you feel like you're part of the family. I asked the team members what they would recommend since it was my first time there, one of them told me that they like the queso fries ( absolutely delicious ) and the taquitos. I got an order of three taquitos which were bigger than I expected and I was allowed to get one of each kind which is potato, shred beef and chicken. The taquitos come with a drink and a side of rice and beans. If you're looking for a family own restaurant that's enjoyable come here and he has board games you and your family can play while dining. I 100% recommend this place!! Don't miss out!!

    Soo Gooooood!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: $ Solid solid solid taquitos place! First time trying it and it was bomb! I got the two chicken taquitos, everything was perfect. It was crispy and soft in the inside just like i want it. The service was great, especially the guy who cook the food (didn't get his name). They had shaded patio outside and around 5-6 tables inside. I definitely would be back for more.

If you haven't been to Roll Em Up, go ahead and cancel your plans, call your mom, and make your way over there--because this place is that good. First off, the aesthetics of the restaurant are incredible. I walked in and immediately thought, "Wow... this is what my kitchen wishes it looked like." It's clean, vibrant, and has the kind of cozy vibe that makes you want to stay longer than you probably should. Now, let's talk service--because it deserves its own award. It's a family-owned business, and you can feel that warmth from the moment you walk in. Supporting local spots already feels good, but supporting a place that treats you like long-lost cousins? Even better. The owner is the kind of person who makes you feel like you've been friends for years. Super welcoming, super intentional, and honestly, if more restaurant owners were like this, Yelp would be a much happier place. And the food... oh man. My wife and I both got the taquito plate with carne asada fries, and let me just say--these taquitos are to die for. If I had to choose between these taquitos and winning the lottery... well, I'd have to think about it for a second. 10/10 recommend! If you're looking for great food, great people, and an experience that makes you want to come back before you even leave the parking lot, Roll Em Up is the spot!!!

Amazing happy hour and I highly recommend the dos gringos. Every detail of that dish is made with thought and precision down to the proportions given and the wonderful crisp on the tortilla. Amazing deal! Be careful when ordering sparkling water because they'll bring you an overpriced bottle of sparkling water instead of just their fountain soda water without asking for clarification. We sat inside since we had a sleeping baby in a stroller, and was surprised to find there are a few others doing the same with a stroller also! Plenty of space for all of us too. Between the 3 adults, we had ordered 2 main dishes and 1 ceviche to share. It was the perfect amount of food and I'm glad we weren't overzealous and ordered 3 mains as it would've been too much. We got a mole enchilada, ceviche tropical, and the carnitas chilaquiles. everything tasted amazing and it was the perfect dish to introduce my parents to the unique mole flavor. staff members were very friendly and super accommodating, glad we ventured out to Mercado!

My coworker and I went all in on the birria lineup, because the whole office was talking about birria so we grabbed the Birria Papas (w added guacamole) and Birria Tacos. The papas came out swinging: legit hand-cut fries piled high like they had something to prove. Messy, loaded, and worth every napkin. The tacos were a little on the petite side, like "did I accidentally order the sample version?" but still tasty enough to keep me from complaining too loudly. Now let's talk about the secret hot sauce. First of all, why is it secret?!?!? 2nd of all, I get it. That stuff is not playing around. One bite and my mouth was on fire!!! If you like heat that punches back, this is your moment!! The spot itself is super clean, the staff is genuinely nice (not the fake "have a nice day" nice), and everything just felt easy and welcoming. Prices won't make your wallet cry either, which is always a bonus, esp how expensive everything is these days!! Only downside, the parking is a bit of a game of luck. We got there early and snagged a spot, but otherwise, you might want to park across the street and pretend it was your plan all along. Overall: great food, spicy surprises, and zero regrets!!! Would absolutely go back. Make sure to ask for the "secret hot sauce" you won't regret it!!!

Lots of seating, lots of parking( lot in the back). From the design and thought put into the decor, menu and all the other options (like candy, liquor, beer and wine) you get, it's pretty amazing. We ordered a plethora of items to see what would be our favorite. I gotta say it was pretty much everything. Super polite staff and the flavors of the food made you feel good. You're truly in for a treat. Asada burrito super bomb, great flavor decent size and for the price it's great. See I like to eat(like you!) so I wouldn't have minded if it was tad bit bigger and tad bit heavier. But flavor was super delicious. Crunchy potato tacos, like finger food, once I saw someone else's tacos I was like uh oh I'm gonna need a lot more tacos. Except we stuck to ordering a few items to just see how it goes. And yeah, like I said tacos are SMALL. Like baby size. Not normal if you ask me but to each their own I guess. Birria cup lacked meat, but the flavor was amazing, you get 3 baby sized corn tortillas and that's pretty much it. You would expect more meat but after looking at the taco sizes yeah. You ain't getting anymore! So order more! Asada fries as well, portion wise could have been more giving. Loved the house made fries, great touch. Or atleast I am assuming they are house made, tasted very fresh cut if you know what I mean. Except the portion is tiny, like everything else. So if anyone is understanding my lingo is that Madre Maiz doesn't really put out large portions, which makes you want to order more and spend more. Then again they have their flavor to compensate for the quantity? Last can't leave out the guacamole, fresh and delicious with the bag of chips. Now that food portion has been expressed, let's talk about the meat being slightly on the dryer side. Soft but definitely dryer than majority of the taquerias I have been too. The asada 100% was dry and lacked any form of juiciness. Flavor was there but just dry. 100% needed sauce. The red sauce was chipotle based, the orange was habanero, and the green was cilantro/maybe avocado based(no heat in the green). Every bit of sauce helped every bite. Was it worth trying and reviewing? Yes. Will I ever go back? 100% cause that burrito was pretty good. For 12-13 bucks it's not bad at all, might need two. Beautiful decor, and plenty of seating outside and limited on the inside.

This was not the case when we had our dining experience. We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive.
