Three shredded beef tacos with guacamole and sour cream, and a side of chips that comes with the order.
    Monte L.

I gave this place five stars because the food is pretty consistent and has been for 10 years. The photo is of the shredded beef tacos, which is probably my favorite thing to get there next to the chicken tacos or burritos. The carne Asada is good, but it's not my favorite and I would stick with the shredded beef or the chicken for a first timer and then move over to the other stuff afterwards. The ambience is nothing to brag about but overall I'd say it's pretty decent. It's no frills, but I've never felt uncomfortable there and then there's no music blasting or anything like that so it's OK. The service is always good because the guys that work there are always pretty friendly. One brother will bring the food out to you. I see brother because there's two guys that take the order and they kind of look like Brothers and one of them will bring the food to you. The other one will just call out your order and you have to go pick it up, but it's not a table service restaurant. It's just you go up and order and then you sit at a table and you know eat. Please excuse any grammatical errors because I am doing talk to text for this review. Also, they have a parking lot so it's always easy to park there. I would say as far as a Mexican food goes In Pasadena. This is one of the more preferred spots in my opinion that's worth checking out.

Super chill and relaxed restaurant that serves Mexican comfort food at a fair price and offers big portions. Their menu is huge and the food comes out pretty quickly. The shrimp burrito was great, very big and filling with lots of flavor. The staff are nice, and there is plenty of indoor seating.

    Chile Relleno combo plate

Very busy day. Today's dinner was at Rosarito Mexican Food. I opted for the Chile Relleno combo plate w rice & beans, guacamole & sour cream. The chile relleno was very good. I appreciate that the chile's seeds & membranes were removed. I think the cheese used was Oaxaca since it was very melty, which is a great choice since this is the cheese I also use for chile relleno or enchiladas. The rice was very buttery and the beans were good. Beans however, had lard (not vegetarian friendly)... I didn't have to ask, I tasted it. I still ate some of it since it was good. The location is in a shopping center that had plenty of parking, so I didn't have to worry about that today.

Yelp for the win once again! I was exiting Sierra Madre on my way to work and plugged in Mexican food on my maps, and Rosarito Mexican Food came up with raving reviews. Needless to say, it was my final destination. Excellent service, friendly staff, but most important; the food was exceptional. I love a good hole in the wall restaurant and Rosarito Mexican Food in Pasadena hit the spot. The beans friends, the beans. Perfection. If you're picky like me, that's a big deal. The rice was good, salsa was fresh. Today's order included 3 chicken taquitos and 2 chicken enchiladas plates. Very much appreciated the chips and extra salsa. Highly recommend; will be back!

Good food. The chips were crispy, not oily. All the food had good flavor and not oily. Overall I thought it was solid.

This is a must try off of lake in Pasadena…read more Reliably good food every time I have been here. Chips and salsa with WARM chips. A to die for pork tomahawk. Amazing happy hour and I highly recommend the dos gringos. Every detail of that dish is made with thought and precision down to the proportions given and the wonderful crisp on the tortilla. Amazing deal! Be careful when ordering sparkling water because they'll bring you an overpriced bottle of sparkling water instead of just their fountain soda water without asking for clarification. I've made that mistake a couple times. Otherwise, I highly recommend Mercado; you can't really go wrong.

Our waiter Gianni's is amazing! Give that guy a raise. The guacamole had onions so I had to pass, and the entire table ate onions and I didn't - so didn't try it. However, the chips and salsa were delicious. The mushroom queso dip is divine. Delicious. Creamy. Addictive. Must order it. I ordered the fillet mignon tacos - they were flattened steak - I'd prefer chopped. Would give the taco more texture. No accompanying sauce - so used the salsa - very good. The avocado was too thick. The mashed potato's were forgettable. I get it - mashed potato's in a Mexican restaurant. But why not add a fusion gravy? Flan for dessert was out of this world. Churros were slightly undercooked. A solid Mexican spot in Pasadena. Would like to try more food options.

It is a real cornerstone of Pasadena dining, there is a love or hate feeling when you bring up this restaurant among locals. Chips and salsa is provided with orders so it is the perfect after work stop. They do have better the ability to make quality margaritas for full price which is almost 2-3 times happy hour but if you like mezcal it might be worth it for a more refined taste. Conveniently located by the 210/134 freeway entrances, it has it's own lot that says a lot for Pasadena establishments.

This was not the case when we had our dining experience. We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

There is no food service at this location but they seem to partner with a couple food trucks serving tacos. Some inside open air seating but the main draw is the relaxing patio. I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary.
