I've tried both Workaholic's dumplings and Flying Noodles at the 626 Nightmarket. The dumplings, which they are famous for, is way overpriced and it doesn't come with a whole lot of food -- some big dumplings and greens. We almost spent $20 on that and it wasn't worth it. As for the Flying Noodles, we were much more pleased with that dish. It's super cool and held up in a very cool way. It's also pricey, but it includes way more food in order to justify the expense. I would recommend choosing this dish instead of the dumplings.

The rainbow dumplings here are overrated, typical instagram style food, where food look is more important than how it tastes, and it's overpriced, one is $8, two for $15, three for $20. Beef Bulgogi - *** angus beef, house bulgogi marinade, sweet potato noodles, bean sprouts, green onion, purple cabbage pocket, very light taste Spicy Pork and Kimchi - **** pork, grilled onions, spicy gochujang marinade, grilled kimchi, sweet potato noodles, green onion, red beet pocket, recommend Overall, good appearance and plain taste.

Definitely not a big fan of these dumpling. Tried the beef and the shrimp one. The skin of the dumpling is thick, the inside was very greasy and the favor is only so so. And they laid on a bed of veggie which is greasy and not flavorful. The salad suppose to cut down the grease and give you a refreshing taste. But it does not. With the price tag, you can get way better food in town.

Talk about a walking advertisement! If you order one of their "Flying Noodles," be prepared to be asked what the heck you are eating, and where you got it. It is pretty pricey at $17 for a bowl, but it's a LOT of food. Noodles, bulgogi, veggies, it's probably enough to split between 3-4 people, especially if you're eating other stuff around Smorgasburg. The meat was actually really good, and even the japchae noodles were very flavorful. If that was my only meal for the day, I'd be a happy camper. We also got to try some of their famous Rainbow Mandu: handmade dumplings of different flavors and colors! I wanted them ALL! I decided on the bulgogi (purple) and the spicy kimchi pork (red). Each dumpling ranges between $8-10 but they are huge. If you order 3 dumplings, you save $4, and if you order 2, you save $1. The bulgogi dumpling had so much flavor, and the spicy kimchi pork was no joke! It was spicy but you can definitely taste the kimchi flavor. I was expecting the actual dumpling skin to be too hard or crispy because of the size, but it was actually really moist, and easy to eat if you have a spoon, or knife/fork. The dumplings were probably one of my favorites out of our whole LA trip, and I would recommend it to anyone planning to come out to Smorgasburg as a must-have!

Rainbow Dumplings! Yay! Wait, vegan options too?!? Right on! Workaholic is a place that serves great handcrafted Korean Mandu! They serve carnivore and herbivore dishes. I first had the opportunity to try their food at the 626 market in Pasadena over the summer and once again at Smorgasburg--what a treat, both times, the food was amazing and delicious. I also love a place that produces food with the same consistent flavoring, quality, and portions each and every time! They also have Plantbased/Vegan food--yikes! Customer service at its best and thank you for not forgetting about the plant eaters! The wild mushroom is what I tried at the 626 market and it's the dish that essentially had me coming back for more; that is why I was so happy to see them at Smorgasburg! The wild mushroom mandu is filled with love--ok, seriously--with portobello mushrooms, cabbage, enoki, sweet potato noodles, green onions, spinach pocket, bean sprouts, and shitake mushrooms. This dish is quite the dish--Its Dumplings like I've never tasted before and I enjoyed it also my second time around. They have two other vegan options which are spinach and tofu and spicy fried tofu. Why try the same dish? It was great the first time and since I already had a tofu dish that day I decided to go with the mushroom. The plantbased/vegan mandu come in a green spinach pocket. All mandu served with a salad. Lettuce dance! They also have flying and grounded noodle options. I'm happy to see Workaholic thriving the line wasn't super long but it was consistent! That's because the food is good it keeps people coming back! "If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it!" -Ruthie Lindsey

some of the best dumplings ever!

Wow, simply some of the absolute best dumplings I have ever eaten!! We came by the Workaholic booth during 626 Night Market at Santa Anita Park and after a short wait in line, we ordered three dumplings that came with a salad as well: Spicy Pork and Kimchi: this was so spicy but so good, the spice had so much flavor! Delicious juicy tender pork, bright red with flavor. Garlic Shrimp: lots of shrimp, literally a whole head of garlic, bursting with juices and flavors with every bite, oh it was wonderful! Special Black Magic Mandu: last but not least, the special/surprise dumpling for the weekend, if I remember it was charcoal dough with bulgogi, potatoes, cheese, veggies, and of course, all the amazing deliciousness that Workaholic puts in their food! This was slightly drier than the other two but wasn't a "dry" dumpling if that makes sense. All three had a delicious dough that was soft on the round/filled portion, and crispy on top, but oh so tasty. The accompanying salad was simple and fresh, but the dressing was delicious! Overall, I was VERY impressed with these dumplings and absolutely loved every bite!

Omgod!!! Do you like dumplings?? One of the best dumplings I've ever had. I think I ordered one bulgogi dumpling, and I enjoyed it. You can really enjoy the flavor. I will definitely come back and buy more when I go back to socal

Okay, I think these are the best fusion fried dumplings I've ever had. Pricing for these are kind of debatable but taste definitely overpowers the crying I hear from my wallet. I've had their dumplings from their booths at the 626 Night Market and Smorgasburg LA. At first I was drawn away because of the price but just thinking about the bulgogi filling just made me so hungry. The size of each dumpling is a little smaller than the palm of my hand, but packed with perfectly seasoned meat and filling. My friends and I got the spicy pork & kimchi flavor (orange dumpling) and the bulgogi flavor (pink color for the beet root wrapper). The spicy pork isn't super spicy and has a nice heat to it, but the texture is kind of weird because it has a lot of smaller pieces. The bulgogi one is the best in my opinion because the beef is marinated well and tastes exactly like going to a KBBQ restaurant but in dumpling form. Also there's glass noodles so it kind of tastes like eating japchae too hehe. *The only problems I had is that because you're trying to eat such a big dumpling, all the juices and filling falls out so it makes it messy and hard to eat, especially when sharing. Other thing is the top part where the dumpling is folded in to seal all the meat contains nothing... so if you're eating the base of the dumpling first, people tend to throw away the top part because its tough to eat. But underneath the dumplings is a salad with a great sesame dressing! I think the salad is so yummy and goes well before or after the dumplings! Make sure to eat every last bit of it to take away the oily feeling.

    Jennifer L.

Cute and big dumplings. Got the kimchi n pork one. The skin was too thick and oily. It was really flavorful. Actually a bit too salty but paired great with the salad.

    Jeff K.

Delicious Korean Dumplings that can be found at this booth in LA Night markets and food festivals. Very tasty dumplings set on top of a little cup of salad. I don't remember the details of this order (it's been a while) Next time I see them I will try and write more in depth.

Coconut curry chicken, beef bulgogi, and spicy pork & kimchi
    Kristen P.

These Korean dumplings are delicious! I ordered three dumplings (and house salad) for $20 - coconut curry chicken, beef bulgogi, and spicy pork and kimchi. All of them had good flavor. The spicy pork and kimchi wasn't too spicy, but had a decent kick to it. Keep in mind, these dumplings are big (please see picture to see how they compare to the size of a cherry tomato). Even though I thought $20 was pricey, overall, I was pleased with my meal, and I was comfortably full. Next time I'm at Smorgasburg, I would love to get more dumplings. But I also want to try the Flying Noodles, mainly since it looks so photo worthy.

    Fly me to the noods!
    Cindy T.

Met them the first time at Smorgasburg and the flying noodles totally caught my eyes! For $16 (an extra $1 to make them "fly")- I guess it's worth it? It's a big portion and it was definitely instagram-friendly! I only wish the noodles were warmer and less oily, but I keep the noodles from sticking together? Down to try out their dumplings next time ;)

Beef bulgolgi and shrimp & garlic
    Jennifer D.

While I was at the 626 night market, I saw a good number of people walking around with cute bowls of colorful dumplings and after discovering what these gems were, I went straight to the workaholic food truck...and then subsequently ran away after seeing the prices. TEN BUCKS A DUMPLING? WHO DO YOU THINK I AM? A GIRL IN HER 20'S WHO SPENDS ALL OF HER NONEXISTENT MONEY ON FOOD?! If so, then you are correct. Because I couldn't resist the call of the dumplings and walked straight back so I could try these bad boys. BTW, I'm sure the prices were just upped for 626 so hopefully you'll be luckier than me and not have to break the bank to try these babies out. Because my friend has an abnormally low tolerance for spicy foods, we made sure that we only ordered things that wouldn't make her spit fire - beef bulgolgi and shrimp & garlic. I'm really happy that I was able to try these dumplings out because they really were delicious. The beef bulgogi was your good standard mandoo but the shrimp & garlic provided an extra punch of flavor that I enjoyed. So if you're wanting to try something new, definitely go for the shrimp & garlic! Were they worth the price and the hype? It's hard to say because if these dumplings weren't so brightly colored, I really don't think the appeal would be as great. But if you eat like me, as in you eat with more than one sense, then you'll appreciate the aesthetics of it. I likely won't be buying this again because even though the shrimp & garlic dumpling was delicious, it just isn't worth the price to me. But hey, no regrets! Really happy to have had the opportunity to find this food truck to begin with!

I also let her know that I had no allergies to food or preparation methods. After ordering, I sat in a chair near the counter and waited for my meal to be prepared. I noticed that there were large parties eating and enjoying each other's company. Surprising because I was there in early afternoon when most places have very little business. I could see that the all you can eat options available on the menu were very popular. The staff seemed always involved in keeping everything moving efficiently. Delivering foods to be cooked, checking on the grill, clearing dishes, and keeping the tables and surrounding areas clean. The aromas throughout the restaurant were enticing. My food arrived at the front desk and I was told that they had placed the banchan-the small dishes surrounding the barbecue grill-in my to-go bag. The fragrance of fresh made food emanated as I unpacked my meal. The food was as expected -spectacular! There was kimchi, a fresh lettuce salad, chopped cabbage with spice. Each one had a special flavor and spice. There were small containers of rice that paired well as I tried each item. When I got to the main meal, I started with a couple bites of the vegetable pancake. It looked and tasted great. While there were herbs and sauces that I could have put with it the flavor was so good nothing was necessary. The chicken bowl that I ordered was moist the chicken had a special kick and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The short ribs were my favorite. While they're not inexpensive.
