Stopped in for lunch since I was in the mood for Beef Noodle Soup along with some other dishes. It was not too busy on a Sunday around 12:30 - even the staff took a meal break shortly after we were served our food. The place has faux bamboo tile, brick and marble accents lining the walls. A small wall of fish tanks toward the back hides and serving prep area and storage for cases of beer. Separate men's and women's bathroom is through the curtained entry next to this area - nice and clean. They have really large tables - the largest being a round 15 seater. Out first was my Beef Noodle Soup - although I didn't order the spicy version of this it has more "spicy" than I expected. Unfortunately this is the majority of the flavor of the soup which I found a bit on the bland side. The beef chunks were throughout, but some pieces had more chew than I would have liked. I loved the Sauteed Cabbage - nice wok hei to this, nicely cooked and great flavor. My favorite dish of all we ordered. I tried the noodles with meat sauce and it tasted fine to me it had additional peas and carrots in the sauce. I also tried the Sour Cabbage with Pork Blood Soup which unexpectedly came with intestines that overpowered the other flavors in the soup. I like this section of Main St just north of the LIE - it is pretty convenient for me and I prefer to support the business in this area. I upped my review from 3.5 to 4 stars. Overall this is a decent spot, but my review probably matters little since I am not the target demo for this place - they seem to be supported by many regulars in the area. read more

My family and I frequent many spots in Flushing, and this is always a comfort spot for us. The food quality isn't always the same, and some times the food is better than others. Ambiance is very basic. At night it can get loud and a little rowdy with large tables. The servers are always friendly and give us what we need. Overall a tasty, not-too-expensive choice on Flushing's Main Street, and we'll keep on coming back. read more

Brought my mentally challenged brother here for lunch today (a Tuesday). The place has 5 gigantic tables for about 10 ppl, one 4-top and a round 5-top. They sat the two of us at one of the big tables since the small ones were taken, and I was just happy to be sat. I ordered an incredible amount of stuff because my brother and I eat like pigs. They were out of the Boiled Lamb Leg, so we got some Wild Duck Soup. It was too bony for him to eat (too risky), so I devoured it. Pretty good, not fantastic. It's a watery broth soup, and while full of flavor, the duck meat kind of shrinks and dries out a bit. Next they brought the Braised Pork over Rice, which was pretty good... there wasn't a tremendous amount of Braised Pork in there, but it was very fatty and soft. The Chinese Bacon with Scallion came at the same time, and THAT WAS THE BEST. That was so tasty, I probably won't even need to eat dinner. The Boiled Pork/Chive Dumplings were very good! We got Taiwanese Noodles as well, and that was very good but not over-the-top-fantastic like the Chinese Bacon dish. Their tea is very good too. The service was basically 2 servers, very hectic but they did well enough despite some language barrier. With a few Cokes, the check came to about $55. Good menu and good cooks here. I am no Taiwanese cuisine connoisseur, but I did not see any of the usual items I have found in other Taiwanese eateries (and I don't necessarily say this in a negative way). Everyone's taste is unique. I honestly thought "maybe they serve dishes from a different region of ". We found the items we ordered a bit bland (but not bad). Was looking for noodle soups and they only had one selection. The fried tofu was pretty crispy. The basil Clams were the tastiest out of the bunch. The place is small. Looks clean. There is street parking (good luck finding a spot). Located in a pretty busy area of town. Our server was friendly, but she was unable to answer questions we had about some of the dishes. read more

Got lucky here came during dinner time and it was not very busy at the time I enter. Soon as we sat the place filled up. I felt the service was really good here. As we sat water and tea was brought right away to us. Of course I ended up ordering lots and lots of dishes to try being that I saw a lot on the menu. Personally I thought that all the food was very good. I really liked the 3 cup chicken dish. Very good flavor and goes great with rice. Nice little restaurant with good food and friendly service. Take out - pork chop over rice. GET IT. so good... we got three. I called ahead so i didnt have to wait with the aunties/uncles that get a little rowdy during dinner times - they are great but just a bit too loud for me. From the cabbage that accompanies this dish to the minced meat to the main pork chop crust... this dish reminds me of "66" in flushing. iykyk. The rice kernels were not too hard nor mushy soft (we microwaved one of them the next day and it tasted fine). We made dinner reservation for a group of 9 on a Friday night 630p. Highly recommended to call early for a reservation especially on the weekend. The place was packed and customers were turned away. The waitress rushed us to order when we weren't even ready. We were asked if we would be done by 830p, two hours later for another reservation. We said yes. The high chair was filthy. Hmm where do I begin.... First time being here was with my mom and my brother and had an amazing lunch. Today I came for dinner it had 3 large parties so we were thrown in the corner table and basically forgotten. Had to nearly jump to have the waitress even acknowledge our existence. From the pictures we ordered taiwanese sausage it was dry and almost burnt to a crisp. Stinky tofu not gonna lie on point. The chicken leg over rice was overly salted and the rice barely had any minced meat sauce on the rice. Seaweed what can I saw pretty good but can that really be messed up? The noodles I forgot the name was pretty bland. First time having it brought back childhood memories but today it was mediocre at best. O man I would have given a 3 star just for the food but the customer service was by far the worse I've seen. Super rude, we finished the tea and she takes it away and just never comes back. I don't know if you've ever been to a Chinese restaurant but I believe it's pretty customary to have the tea refilled. When we asked for tea she walks away before we were able to place an order for cake and when she came back we asked for one and she gave us the worst attitude saying anything else super loud and obnoxious like we were ordering things one at a time to make her go back and forth. Hesitant to blow the spot up. Want to keep it local. The Taiwanese cuisine should give the neighboring main street imperial a run for their monday. Have ordered takeout multiple times this past week. Stinky tofu is good. The smell really is in there, and they give 2 containers of soy sauce garlic topping. The pickled cabbage is delicious. 100% order. $8. Cheaper than Flushing The pork roll is authentic and a great price. $8 Oyster noodles are unique - good flavor with garlic. And not too runny. Oysters and intestines. The unique thing is they add oyster mushrooms as filler too but it actually works really really well. Great price and flavor compared to the overpriced garbage I've been getting in Flushing lately. Porkchop rice. Great portion and price. Fried nicely. Has flavor. Not stingy on the porkchop. $8.50 - again cheaper than Flushing. Dong pou rou over rice.. only 5 pork bellies, which is still more than other places, but a lot of rice. Maybe not worth it. $10 deals. A small portion, side of rice, small soup. Or over rice version for less. Good deals, especially compared to other places with 3 dishes 1 soup. Bamboo shoots w pork - bamboo too tough. Shredded pork w garlic sauce - a bit salty Shredded beef w peppers - delicious 100% worth a try. Just don't make my lines too long. Had to wait 30 minutes to pick up on sunday bc they were so busy! I have only tried the stinky tofu and the fried flounder lunch special so far. I'm always happy whenever a new place has stinky tofu and this one didn't disappoint. The pickled cabbage was great too and I MUST have my pickled stuff with my stinky! Price is cheaper than most places too as the price of stinky has gone sky high unfortunately for me . The flounder was pretty good too but probably taste better if dining in versus traveling home to eat it since it's fried. Food was pretty decent, but customer service was atrocious. I ordered several dishes; all but one of the dishes came out at around the same time. We waited for another 10-15 minutes, but the last dish still didn't come out, so I asked our waitress about it. She responded with such disgusting attitude, asking if we can see how busy they are. She then brought out the last dish a minute later, so it's more than likely she just forgot about it. After the meal, to make things worse, the cashier came up to our table and demanded that we pay immediately when we just received the bill. When we told her to wait a moment, she said she wasn't rushing us. Absolutely rude. No plans on going back to this place. read more

I had a bad experience when I went to pick up my food. I called in for pickup for two ramens, saying that I will be there in 30 minutes to pick it up. When I arrived they said it's not ready yet and told me to wait 10 min. I waited almost 20 minutes before getting my food. The was not busy during that time. The reason why I called for pickup is because I was in a rush. They start to make my order after I arrive into the store. I confused on what was the point of calling for pick up if they just going to start making my food when I get there. I want to give a zero star review but the lowest is 1 star. read more

I have been ordered here from time to time. But today's experience is very bad. First of all, there is no dipping sauce for stinky tofu and even though we live like 20 minutes away. There is no way I will go back and get the sauce. 2nd, the pork chop rice's pork chop is 1/2 full of either bones and fat and the batter is falling apart. Me and my family come here all the time. We always get the pork chop over rice, and Taiwanese Noodle Soup with minced pork. They're both so delicious! The pork-chops are so flavorful! My family always gets the stinky tofu and they devour it. The flavor is not for everyone but if you're a fan, it's a good choice here! read more

First time came here with my husband . He been here before with his mom. Anyway , we ordered 2 dishes from lunch special menu, coz just 2 of us. We just wanted to grab quick lunch then head back to work. When we asked the bill, the lady charged us for the regular menu price! RIDICULOUS! My husband asked her , we ordered from lunch menu, why charged us this price! The waitress SCREAMED at him saying , do you see how big portion is, you should question yourself when you see big portion for lunch price. She is absolutely rude and clearly she is uneducated person , why waste time argue for their nonsense. We paid and left. But we will not go back again! good luck with the business .
