So I went by this new spot and was in the mood to get some dumplings. On google it stated it is open, so drove out and when I arrived it's selling baked goods in the front and still not yet in business. I mean inside currently looks nice but kinda small. I asked for a menu and they do not yet have it ready. So the bread and all is not baked even there as they get it from another location. I would like to give it a real review but being that it stated open and traveled out to it was kinda a disappointment.

Finally this spot it open. I've been grabbing their breakfast through the little window. I got there around 8 and asked if they were open. The lady seemed annoyed but according to Yelp it closes at 10. So a little confused. You can order everything on the menu - ordered the truffle soup dumpling and the bbq pork buns. Not bad but a bit expensive plus the 3% credit card surcharge. I hate that places do this now

Pork and Crab soup dumplings

This new restaurant replaced our favorite soup dumpling so we decided to give it a try. It looks like they still doing a soft opening. There was an offer to to get the soup dumpling for 1/2 price with $15 purchase but it was supposedly sold out when we arrived at 2pm. So we ordered other the pork and crab soup dumpling instead. Everything we ordered was pretty good. Service was friendly although it could have been better. We still had one more dish and waited. We had to remind the server we had one more dish (the pan fried duck buns) and they forgot so had to wait longer. There is booth seating and table seating available. In the front, it looks like there is a window that will be open in the future to buy baked goods and beverages. There is a 3% credit card surcharge. I think they still have kinks to work out so will have to it again in the future.

My boyfriend and I went here and absolutely loved it! We got the classic pork soup dumplings, cantonese bbq pork buns, dan dan noodles and shanghai pan fried pork buns. Food was all 10/10 and came out super fast! The dan dan noodles were a little spicy for me but my boyfriend liked them. I got the peach & oolong tea for a drink and It was so sweet and tasty. The presentation of everything was so pretty & aesthetic too. Server was super nice & they cleaned quickly. (They also take apple pay). Loved this spot will def return!

The filling was decent, but the vinegar on the side was too mild. I'm used to a darker, more robust vinegar with XLB, so this didn't quite hit. Braised pork - very tender and flavorful, served with quail eggs. This was one of the stronger dishes. Yangzhou fried rice - not too oily which I liked, but served with only 5 an small shrimps... Sweet & sour shredded potato (cold dish) - slightly spicy, I really enjoyed this one. It was part of a promo where you can get it for $1 when you spend $30 on entrees, so definitely worth adding. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Not everything stood out, but it's solid enough that I'd recommend it, and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

However, recently it's been hit or miss. Today was both - the garlic pork belly cold dish was super tasty! The garlic chili oil was spicy, sweet and fragrant. The pork bun ( I have eaten at almost every establishment that serves pork buns in flushing) was disgusting. The pork was almost grey and the it smelled like it was a day away from spoiling. It's really hard to justify a bad experience like this when there are literal hundreds of flushing vendors that serve the exact same cuisine with better quality control. Catch me a Zie Wei Xiao Chi next time I'm in the mood for a pork bun.

The tables are on the smaller size though so it can be hard to accommodate larger groups. My favorite dishes are the black truffle soup dumplings (perfect amount of truffle taste), crab noodles (saucey and comes with vinegar on the side which i recommend adding most of for a balanced flavor) , squirrel fish (sweet and sour profile), eggplant (super saucey perfect to be eaten with rice), and the Kao fu (refreshing cold appetizer). Everything is flavorful, but the sauce from the eggplant and squirrel fish is pretty sweet and strong so definitely have some white rice ready to eat with everything!

We ordered the half chicken, spinach, dumplings, and duck, which were all delicious. My personal favorite was the half chicken. It was tender and juicy, and the presentation was beautiful and fun. Definitely the standout dish for me. The ambience was stunning. It truly felt like you were transported to an Asian town. It was thoughtfully designed, warm, and immersive. The atmosphere is probably one of the restaurant's biggest highlights. Where things fell short was the service and ordering system. You order food on an iPad at the table and send it directly to the kitchen, which is convenient in theory because you can keep adding items. However, no one explained how the system worked when we sat down. At one point the iPad locked, and we had no idea what the password was to reopen it. Also, for drinks I had to flag down staff to order them. Unfortunately, the staff didn't check in on us much, so it wasn't easy to get their attention when we needed something. Parking is also near impossible and traffic in the area is very heavy, so I highly recommend taking the train if you can. Overall: beautiful ambience and solid food, but service and logistics could definitely be improved.

Excellent food. Beautiful presentation and mastery in preparation…read more The Peking duck was delicious. The fat was either removed or baked out. The dish was presented traditionally with the all the toppings. The duck sauce was also perfect. A beautiful dish that fulfilled the 3 categories of Chinese cooking: color, fragrance and taste. Our next favorite in presentation and taste is the pork belly with pumpkin. The presentation of the dish is eye popping. The pork belly is unmistakably cooked by a master chef. The texture is chewy (skin), soft (fat) and dense (meat). The sauce may look over the top, but it adds to the silkiness of the pieces. The "fat" is not greasy. It's puzzling how they rendered the grease. I grew up eating this dish and cook it too. This dish by far is the best I've had. Service is fantastic; helpful and attentive. This is our new favorite restaurant! Suggestion would be to eat at the restaurant for an incredible experience. Dishes came out is perfect order. It's been a while since we've experienced a classic Chinese restaurant.
