My friend and I were at New World Mall and randomly came across this Shanghainese spot, so we…read moredecided to give it a try. Soup dumplings (pork & crab) - not bad, but I've had better. The filling was decent, but the vinegar on the side was too mild. I'm used to a darker, more robust vinegar with XLB, so this didn't quite hit. Braised pork - very tender and flavorful, served with quail eggs. This was one of the stronger dishes. Yangzhou fried rice - not too oily which I liked, but served with only 5 an small shrimps... Sweet & sour shredded potato (cold dish) - slightly spicy, I really enjoyed this one. It was part of a promo where you can get it for $1 when you spend $30 on entrees, so definitely worth adding. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Not everything stood out, but it's solid enough that I'd recommend it, and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

I've come here during prime lunch time on Saturdays and there's always been plenty of tables in a nice clean ambiance. In terms of the quality of food, I would say it is definitely up to par with decent serving sizes... my go to orders are the pork soup dumplings, pickled mustard greens and spicy fish stew, and pan fried buns. The bathroom is also outside the restaurant and shared with the mall so you will need to grab a key to go, in case that's important to you :)

Also ordered garlic shrimp, which was very juicy and flavorful! Would definitely back. Ordered the wine soaked chicken, nine-spice rabbit, and a bowl of rice. You can tell the chicken was soaked for an ample amount of time; it had great flavor. The nine-spice rabbit was also perfectly seasoned. Good food.

I'm always on the hunt for a great xiaolongbao, and I was hoping nothing had changed since my last visit. Thankfully, they were just as good as I remembered. The skin is thin, and there's a generous amount of soup inside, which is exactly what I look for. That said, the crab meat noodles were disappointing this time. The amount of crab meat seemed significantly reduced compared to before, so much so that if I hadn't known what I was ordering, I don't think I would have been able to identify it as crab meat noodles at all. We also tried the osmanthus cakes, which my sister really enjoyed. Personally, I'm not a fan of the mochi-like texture, so while I can appreciate why others might like them, they just aren't for me. The restaurant itself is still beautiful, and the servers remain extremely polite, as you'd expect at a place of this caliber. I'll definitely be coming back again...at least for the soup dumplings.
