This is only specific to Thunder Cloud located at 12400 Hwy 71 I arrived knowingly early to pick up a to go order hoping maybe I'd get lucky and it was ready. Checked the counter not there no prob go to sit down. The guy who handles to go orders yells at me something I can understand. So I calmly said I'm sorry I didn't understand what are you asking me. He then goes annoyed what is your name on the order as if he was talking to a moron. I said Calmly my name. He then goes well you're 20 mins early I have like 8 people before you and you'll have to wait. I replied sir all I did is come in look for my order and sit down. I didnt request that you make mine early and I'm aware that I'm here early. He rolls his eyes and carries on. Then as he rounds the corner to grab chips he knocks one in the ground. In his way back he kicks it across the kitchen floor under their equipment. He then continues to wrap sandwiches and slap them down on the counter semi smashing them each time. Like I get we all have bad days but his demeanor and attitude were not acceptable. I will note when men came in and he would ask them about their orders it was hey man what's your order. What's your name. Cool man sorry it's not ready yet. Soooo ladies maybe avoid the white guy in his late 40s to 50s with some left arm tats at this location. Great spot to grab a quick sandwich for lunch. This location never disappoints. Ingredients are always fresh, the staff are always super friendly and greet you with a smile. There's interesting decor throughout, which creates a hip vibe. Steven offer outdoor seating, when the weather is nice. Similar experience to Melissa's. Ordered online, and was on time for pickup. Upon arrival, there were 5 employees behind the counter, only one preparing food and no other customers waiting. One then decided to start making our order, noting "sorry, we got a late start". Aside from taking his time on our sandwiches (of which we had a few) the other 3 employees were not doing anything. I'm not sure why I torture myself with this location (I might go every 6 Months or so) when nobody there cares about the customers (read my previous review). But, I guess I enjoy being ignored. Went in, me & daughter ONLY people there, 6 employees "looking busy" took 4 minutes for 1 employee to acknowledge us, I'm rolling my eyes. My daughter orders, takes 6 minutes, some guy comes in after 10 minutes and an employee asked to take his order. I said WAIT, I've been here at least 10 min and need to order! Lady making my daughters sandwich said I'm "helping you two" I said someone could have made MY sandwich by now, but NO! Have to wait another 7 f-n minutes just to make my sandwich. I have tried all the local sandwich shops in the area and they are all mediocre at best. I thought I would give Thundercloud Subs a try and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the club sandwich and it was very fresh and tasted great. The service was great and they specifically asked me what I wanted on my sandwich which was nice. They also have a nice selection of chips and drinks and the prices are fair. I absolutely will be returning back soon. read more

We eat from Thundercloud weekly. Everything from cold subs, hot subs and salads. Their egg salad is favorited. The "nada chicken" is a delicious alternative. Even the vegan sandwich is a favorite of our resident vegan. Weekly treats, an easy takeout with no mess. read more

Well I was driving through Austin listening to the radio and a commercial came on for Thundercloud. I decided to hit my gps for the closest to my route and give it a try. I ordered the club sandwich and I must say probably one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. Not much meat, very bland and the bread was not very good: dry and tasteless. So far so good.. Now the customer service wasn't bad, but wasn't great. The gentleman that made my sandwich smiled maybe once, but that is after I said something funny to make him smile. He was pretty robot about his stuff.. I am used too the hippy laid back talkitive thundercloud customer service and so this one was just blah. BUT they just opened and so doesn't mean they don't have room to grow and improve :) The gluten free sandwich was delicious and they made my daughter's sandwich just perfect too. They definitely have the sandwich making down good. The place is clean and it is a plain but beautiful interior. I really do like this location.. so if I leave work in Lakeway and they don't have my GF bread (again).. I always have a shot to come to this location and get a sub before going home. Maybe I took it for granted because thundercloud is pretty much always at least ok. Today, however, unrecognizable, unchewable meat-like substance in my roast beef sandwich. I'm rating this one star because the thundercloud service sucks and it's not the first time this has happened. Why can't you understand that people don't like cheese! ThunderCloud has become our go-to sandwich shop. It's conveniently across the street from where we live, but what keeps us coming back is the customer service, quality ingredients, and affordable prices. They have a very laid-back vibe and we always find ourselves chit chatting with the employees as they make our sandwiches. Our favorite sandwich is the California Club (turkey, avocado, bacon), the bacon is crispy. I have a thing with gross soggy bacon, ew. We usually get sides of potato salad, and I'm not sure if it's made in-house, but it's really really good. They offer up different sandwich specials for a special price, and even offer catering. This particular location has easy parking lot parking, but I cannot vouch for others as this is the only one we've been to. read more
