I hardly go to Italian restaurants because I'm not a pasta girl, but I have to say- I LOVE Mandola's! I love the setup from walking in to walking out. Here's what's great about this restaurant: 1. Walk in and menus are in a basket by the door so you can browse the menu before sitting down... I like this because me an my friends take forever to order if we're at the table talking and getting distracted instead of looking at the menu. 2. The wine options. I HATE HATE HATE ordering a glass of wine and getting ripped off with a winky-dinky two finger deep glass for $5-$15... They ask you... do you want the 6oz or 9oz glass.... ummmm 9oz all the way! 3. The food.... the food is ALWAYS delicious. I even ate pasta there and liked it. So many non-pasta options and the pizza is above average. You can't go wrong if you eat here. I'll start by saying that Mandola's, as an Italian restaurant, has excellent food. I've been to different Mandola's locations all around Texas, as well as one in Florida. I genuinely could not believe that they charge $2.50 for a side of marinara sauce that's equivalent to the size as a MOD pizza dipping sauce (which are free, and one could get a few of them free of charge at MOD). I've gone to Mandola's quite a few times in the past couple of years, and was always able to request a side of marinara sauce, free of charge, with the purchase of a personal pizza. Just recently, I had gone to Mandola's for the first time this year. As someone who has worked in the food industry, customer service and satisfaction should be a priority over a few extra bucks for a ridiculously small amount of sauce. In the middle of my meal I had asked for a small side of marinara sauce, only for one of the employees to tell me that their new manager has a new policy to charge for sauce. For a ridiculously small portion that shouldn't have even cost over a dollar, I was redirected back to the register (mid-meal!) to find out that it was a surcharge of $2.50. Great food, terrible customer service. Most of the employees are great, but management has gotten awfully petty. read more

What a great experience! I've lived in Lakeway/Bee Cave for 8 years now and just went to this restaurant the other day. We've been missing out! We arrived about 11:15AM after church and by the time we left, the restaurant was packed! The restaurant is really cool inside. Open concept with lots of tables, a back room as well for private parties or extra seating. You order at the front and they will bring your food out. While you wait, staff brings you focaccia bread with oil. The bread is fantastic! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. They were excellent. The other food at our table was chicken Parmesan, pizza, and Italian chopped salad. There's a desert counter where you can order all types of pastry, cake slices, cookies or gelato. There's always someone who brings you fresh bread and olive oil for dipping once you've placed an order and freely choose a table. Wait staff are also very quick to clean the tables for a clean tidy look, even though there's many tables here. Friendly if you're dining solo, with a friend, coworker, or family with young kids. Playground outside to burn some calories and energy. It's a steady spot for many locals because it's a no frills place, and food is consistent. Food quality though - not going to be 5 stars. We ordered the food to go. Ive been here a few times. Not my go to place but my partner likes it. Everytime I've gone, I was never a fan of it, until I got the veggie pasta. Which was pretty good. I decided to get lentils as soup and found hair in it. So I couldn't enjoy my soup. I don't know what it taste like. Not sure if I'll go back. The times I ate there, the service was good and the music is okay. Even though I don't care for this place. At least try it out to see for yourself. read more

Never disappoints!!! The spaghetti/lasagna are my go-to. DELICIOUS bread and dip, very filling food in general. You get a menu, find what you want then go order and wait. Very spacious and the ambiance is one of a kind. So different, and makes you feel comfortable imo. My partner has trouble eating with Acid reflux, and says this food often triggers it, but it's still so good he still enjoys eating it. The ice-cream/dessert is also delicious!!! Wow! What a most enjoyable place this is! The ambiance is totally Italy! We had not been to this shopping mall in Bee Cave, TX before, but we were sure happy that we stopped in this day. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are in Italy. The large dining room with an adjacent larger dining room evoke a vibe of being in Italy. They also have comfortable outside seating in a patio with umbrellas. The food was excellent. We had we had pizza and salad and they accompanied it with their special bread. The bread was fantastic. They also have a great gelato bar with flavors for everyone's taste. We had the strawberry and the Stracciatella, both of which were very good creamy and tasty. Incredible service! I ordered a large order for next day pickup as I was hosting an event. 30 mins prior to my pickup time I received a text stating my order was cancelled. I immed called the store who had a manager call me back. Apparently there's an online issue and now going through DoorDash etc. They did not make excuses, they just got to work on my order. I was so grateful for the wonderful customer service and incredible staff all working together and quickly to put this large order out in a very short time period. Beyond grateful and impressed! The girl at the counter was very polite they have no senior menu but allowed me to order a child's meal even though that is really not an option. Went here today and it was an awful experience. Me and my girlfriend got the chicken parmesan and chicken piccata with garlic bread. The garlic bread came out first and it was dry as a bone and hard around the edges and the middle was dripping with grease. We thought we were going to break our teeth out eating it so we didn't even finish a single piece. The chicken Parmesan was dry and had very little sauce and was really tough. The chicken piccata was the worst of all though. The sauce they put on top smelled like cat food and the chicken tasted like it was left over from the previous day and reheated. Neither of us could even finish half of our meal and we started feeling sick while eating. The staff really seem like they didn't want to be there and that they were just going through the motions. We thought that if we complained to a manager, that we might start some kind of problem so we didn't even think it was worth it. The atmosphere is good, but it's very hot in the restaurant so if you go here, be ready to sweat. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I definitely won't be going back. There's plenty of other places to eat in Bee Cave so save yourself the trouble of going here and pick literally anywhere else. read more

This is our first visit to Mandola's and we were not disappointed! You get a menu and select your meal then go to the counter, order and pay. They give you a number and you take a seat. Soon after we were seated we were greeted by a friendly staff member with a basket of bread and oil. You get your drink, utensils, and plates at a station. It was very clean, and decorated with bright colors. I loved that they had a small kids table in the back. We order the lunch fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and the Caprese Salad and the Mandola hero sandwich. It was so good! You will definitely need a to go box! I had the worst chicken parm I've ever had at the Bee Cave location. Chicken was limp, soggy, undercooked inside and burnt on the outside. Disgusting. The side of pasta with marinara was okay but not enough to warrant the outrageous price of $18.50 The Italian cream case was old, dry and moldy tasting fir $8.50. The garlic toast and tomatoes was not near what it used to be. And it cost $10.50! It was as hard as stone and almost impossible to eat. As if all the outrageous prices are not enough, to top it off they charge a restaurant operations fee (A 2.0% fee is applied to ensure exceptional quality and service. 100% of this charge is retained by the business.) What is this? This used to be a good place to go for decent food at a good price, now it is just trash. Very disappointed On top of that they ask for a tip for a too go order with no curb service available any more. You lost a good weekly customer with your greed and horrific food. If you are in the 620/ 71 The Galleria area, stop in and have some good food, good pastries, good gelato/ ice cream and good wine. The people are amazing and so friendly and helped pick the right wine to go with my meal. They even gave us bread and seasoned dipping oil and fresh parmesan to bring home and the gelato or cookie was free because it was our first visit. Charming atmosphere. Today Mandala's hit it out of the park! Sat down to look at the menu and since it was not busy at all, order taker came over and took our order!!! Super customer service for us! Foccia bread with specialty olive oil for dipping was outstanding. Bread was warm and so tasty! Italian salad was delicious and not what I expected with a creamy dressing and no big chunky pieces of salami. Tiny mozzarella balls were scrumptious! The lasagna with bolognese sauce was scalding hot - right up from the broiler - cheese was beautifully melted and warm --- delish! Highly recommend this dish! I'm not a big meatball fan but these were very good. They were golf ball rather than baseball size so were perfectly cooked and swimming in the yummy marinara sauce. Eight of us had dinner here on a Sunday evening. The main area was packed however we found empty tables that we pushed together for the eight of us by going to the back room. Wait staff didn't attempt to help us moving tables and chairs.. I found the gentleman taking our order at the counter wasn't very friendly however he did give me a larger glass of wine for the same price as a smaller glass since they were out of the smaller glasses. I apparently ordered the wrong thing as most everyone else's dishes looked delicious, but my chicken breast were really tough and the vegetables rather marginal. My friend and I had lunch here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly and attentive the staff is and the food was really good. I had the minestroni soup with a mixta salad. The lettuce was so crispy and fresh and the dressing was tasty. This was served with fresh made bread and a olive oil and herb dip. Living near Mandola's sister restaurant in Driftwood, I appreciate the better value of this restaurant. Same bread, dipping sauce, and some dishes. But, about $5 cheaper per entree. Yet, I wish there was some dishes that cross over more often. I can't recall the name, but Damian has a dish as described on the menu made famous at a NY Italian eatery that should be on the menu full time. I also appreciate though unintentional most of the pasta dishes can be shared between my GF and I. The Fettuccine Alfredo is something we share often. Sometimes adding shrimp; ultimate favoring being the simple mushrooms and peas added ($ extra). We also like the Tortellini Modo Mio with a similar cream sauce. Pizzas are usually good although I do miss the mushroom and goat cheese number. Been happy dining here since covid started too; tables are spaced correctly and all condiments are single serve. Gelato is a nice way to finish the meal or take a piece of Italian Wedding Cake home for later. Still wish for a Saltimbocca pork dish and maybe a revised Chicken Bryan from Carrabbas's fame. read more
